The R7 430 is god awful and not actually useful for any gaming though.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234547468805 - this is a bit cheaper and with a 256gb SSD, probably better value.

    • Are the display ports DP++?

Depending on postage costs and how important that video card is this might be a better deal for some as it has a 256GB ssd and 16gb ram

  • been looking into these SFF pc's over the past week…key observations/checklist to consider:

    • M.2 SSD 256GB included as boot drive - frees up bays for HDD/SSD storage
    • 1x16GB single RAM stick - makes upgrade cheaper and again keep slots free
    • you may need DP/display port to HDMI adapters - start from around $4 each on ebay
    • min 3 month RTB warranty for peace of mind
    • Aim for $250 including shipping for i5/8500/8th gen // 16GB RAM // 256GB Boot Drive - with current ebay codes should get closer to the $230 mark SFF (dell/lenovo included)
    • Included Windows 10 BIOS keys can easily be upgraded to Win11, with 8th gen officially supported without hacks
  • Wouldn't trust this eBay user.
They have LOADs of refurbs for over 10k on their website for old products like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234816978996
    Very sus.

    • That just means those items are out of stock now - they put the price up so nobody buys them.
If they get more stock, they'll drop the price back to normal.

  • Someone's been dumping these on Grays for the last few months. As soon as the current lot sells they will add another 10-20 https://www.grays.com/search.aspx?q=HP+elitedesk

I bought one for slightly above the $100 mark and picked it up from the Sydney warehouse. Was in excellent condition, cleaned thermal paste and applied my own, upgraded SSD, added a WiFi/Bluetooth m.2 card. Really happy with it.

While bidding on them saw someone else trying to buy every single piece, now I know where they probably went.

Unrelated and unnecessary info. There were 10 hovering at the $70 mark with less than an hour left on auction close. That person wanted them all and outbid me within a minute or so when I bid $75 on one. I went to another $70 and bid $75, in a minute he bid $80 on that too. Repeated this on all 10. Then I increased to $85 and he did $90, repeated this on all 10 auctions. Then $95 and $100. Then $105 and $110. Finally I bid $115 and he didnt outbid me. I got 1 at $115 and he got 9 at $110.

I just needed 1 my dude. If you had let me have that 1 at $75 you could have had 9 for $70. Almost no one else was bidding on them that day.

*each lot has variants, the one I had didn't have a GPU.

    • Grays' auction is for HP EliteDesk G3, not G4.

    • "That person wanted them all and outbid me within a minute or so"

Sound like grays autobid to me.
