      Apple 2021 iPad (10.2-inch iPad Wi-Fi, 64GB) - Silver (9th Generation)

      • Size - the base iPad only comes in one size
      • Connectivity - assume base specs unless stated otherwise, so Wi-Fi
      • Color - not really essential to note when the options are silver and space grey
      • Delivery - are you seriously not familiar with delivery on Amazon?
      • And yet you've documented more than OP ever did, albeit 3 weeks later. Pat on the back.

Hate comments like these. It's cheap for what it is. So what, mate?

      • How it is hate comment
I did not neg the post

      • -3

        Hate comment? You serious?

        • +1

          Hate comment?

I think they meant: "I hate seeing comments like these".
          Not "hate speech".

          • @DoctorCalculon: Hahaha 🤦🏻‍♂️
Mate forgot to put an i at the beginning.
            Anyways, thanks for that.

    • -3

Upvoted you. My current iPad has 128GB, so not going to buy a new iPad with fewer than 128GB too.

      • +3

If your current iPad was 100TB would you expect a 100TB iPad for $382.90? This is a deal for a 64GB iPad.

      • +1

not going to buy a new iPad with fewer than 128GB

So what are you even doing here commenting in this deal ?!

  • +3

Ugh this is tempting but have been trying to cut down my media consumption and opt for the ereader instead. Unless someone can convince me? lol. Never owned a tablet before.

    • -2

It's way better than an ereader and has better resell value.

      • +3

Apples and oranges. They are totally different devices, but totally understand why some people might prefer one over the other

      • +5

        "Better than an ereader"

Not for your eyes it's not

        • -2

You can alway adjust to yellow light at night.

      • +3

It's way better than an ereader

        • The battery life isn't better
        • The screen isn't better (when reading)
        • The weight isn't better
        • The price isn't better

        Otherwise yeah, it's better.

    • +20

Does a great job if you want to watch porn in the shower.

      • +1

Practice makes the man perfect 😂

    • +1

it’s colour vs e reader black and white but e reader has way better battery life , i have a kindle and ipad and ipad gets used much more , especially for colour pdf docs …..

    • +2

An Ereader really is a buy once item. I picked up gen 4 kindles for some family members years ago and they still use them and love them, no really need to upgrade unless you do a lot of night reading and don't want to use a light. Unless you really don't want to read many books, I would never recommend a tablet for reading, even a phone is probably better.

On the other hand, as soon as you buy a tablet the clock is ticking on it. Apple are maybe better than most with resale and longevity of performance, but it's still something that will need replacing eventually

  • Fantastic price!

  • Bought thanks seems cheap

  • +1

Sad… Bought it for $447 last week and now it's seen a $70 price cut? Amazing.

    • +16

      It's 447 now. I hope you're happy.

  • The cheapest iPad you can get that can run Davinci Resolve.

    • Really?

      • +1

Brand new. 8th is also supported.

        A12 Bionic and up.

  • Wow

  • If still available tomorrow does OW or JB price match?

    • Hit or a miss based on sales rep from past experience

    • +1

      It won't last that long.

    • +2

it will not be available tomorrow that is the problem…

      • I ended up getting one. Family member is also after a new one so might give it a go tomorrow with JB online chat.

  • 1286 clicks and only 54 votes.

    • with my vote ++

  • Thanks, OP. Bought one for my cousin.

  • +4

    Hello you night owls!

  • add to cart and price changed?

  • Added to cart but shows $447

  • -1

Think it's a price error, cart has it at a more normal price.

    • +1

It had 30% off when I got it.

    • +2

      That's USD pricing.

      • Oh rofl Sorry.. my apologies 😬

I was having a very quick browse and thought it would of detected Australia as an country

        Thanks for that

  • Is this the latest iPad? What's the normalish sale price? Not an apple person, but comments making me feel like it's a once in a lifetime price.

    • +3

      Is this the latest iPad?

      No current is 10th Gen

      What's the normalish sale price?

10th Gen is $749, 9th Gen is $549. They go on sale here and there, but this is like all time lowest for 9th gen

      • Thanks so much, great info! Definitely tempting, think I'd be pulling the trigger if I'd managed to get those 10% gift cards this morning!

  • Thanks! Got one for the folks who are still on a first gen ipad mini. These devices are amazing.

  • +1

    Bezos you absolute beast

  • +4

I wonder why would anyone buy those AliExpress pads over this considering the warranty issues, if something goes wrong. Local warranty is peace of mind compared to below.

    1. Ship to China at your own cost.
    2. Longer time due to international shipping and handling.
    3. Not knowing whether you will ever get your item back after repairs.
    • +6

I'm surprised you can even get a warranty from aliexpress sellers. I thought you were left on your own

    • Because they’re cognitively challenged.

  • OOS for this price

  • OzBargained?
Showing $447 after adding to cart, or using the buy now function.

  • +2

    Must resist 1am purchase

  • -5

Give me either Air or Pro on sale, or give me nothing.

    • +2

I agree these things are garbage by comparison, good for the peasants though

      • +1

Dennis! There's some lovely filth down here!

      • +4

Garbage! I would say “not as good”.
It depends on what you use them for. Consumption only I don't think anything more than this is needed. If you use it for work purposes probably a pro for the best screen, or an Air if you can’t stretch the cash for a pro.

But that does not make this garbage, especially at this price.

        • -1

Just feels like garbage after being used to using iPad Pro m1 for a few years now

  • Darn. 5 min too late. Had been eyeing one for ages.

  • Just out of curiosity what category does Apple Devices fall under on Amazon AU?

    • +2

No idea, but the stuttering camel says Personal Computers

  • These things feel ancient when I use them

  • +5

really tempted but couldnt justify buying sth i dont really need.

    • +3

You made the right decision if you’re not going to use it. Better off having $382 in your pocket than an iPad that you got for a bargain but never use

  • Long gone at this price

  • +2

Boo. I would have actually bought something for a change. I guess that’s what I get for spending quality time with my wife and then sleeping…

    • +2

      Pfft.. loser /s

    • +1

Lol I did that as well and spent time with daughter as well watching Pokemon… No regrets

  • Quality street

  • -3

Bruh, it has a home button lol.

    • +1

Because it's old gen and from the lowest range lol. It's not an iPad Pro, iPad Air, or iPad Gen 10

      • Literally all it's worth IMO.

  • -5

Just like the iPhone SE I just bought also comes with the home button reminds me of my original iPhone.

The benchmarks on this tablet aren’t much different to my iPad 4th gen. If it wasn’t 32bit it would probably still work well today.

That’s why I say these things feel ancient.

    • +5

The iPad 4th Gen is totally obsolete, I have one in a draw, almost useless and slow stuck on iOS 12.

The oldest iPad that is still usable is the Air 2 that came out two years later and even that is becoming slow and borderline stuck on iOS 15.

This 9th Gen is a rocket in comparison running an A13 Bionic.

      • +2

Upgrading from the air 2 I bought of Ozbargain in 2014 for 450. Powerhouse of an iPad still chugging along decently today.

Looking at the specs this one doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade. What has Apple been doing the last 10 years lol?

Same questions about the iMac, got one from 2014 and the iMac 2021 seems meh.

        • You obviously have just compared numbers on a page and not actually used the devices.

The 2021 iMac with M1 chip blows the old Intels out of the water in performance.

        • I am using an Air 2 now and have an 8th Gen at another location.

The Air 2 still useable but definitely showing it’s age plus stuck on iOS 15. Some sites cannot be accessed or are very slow. The 8th Gen is a rocket in comparison.

As I said above, I also have a 4th Gen, the first with good Retina display, it’s now pretty much useless but I got good use of it back in the day.

        • +1

          The air 2 uses a A8X single core processor @ 1.5GHz

          the 9th gen uses a A13 bionic hexa core processor @ 2.7GHz

Seems like a pretty substantial upgrade??

          • +1

@Domingo: A8X is triple core isn’t it? Probably explains why it’s still somewhat functional in 2023

            • +1

@Top G: Sure seems to. The comparison site I was looking at lied to me!

      • +1

        4th Gen iPad:

        https://www.gsmarena.com/apple_ipad_4_wi_fi-5072.php

A6X SOC, final IOS version available is IOS 10.

        • Yeah, maybe I was thinking about the iPhone 6 I had.

Either way the iPad 4 is essentially useless

          • @Grok:

Either way the iPad 4 is essentially useless

Absolutely. I had one and it was pretty much unusable on IOS 10 back in 2017.

    • The benchmarks on this tablet aren’t much different to my iPad 4th gen.

The A6X on the 4th Gen iPad is far slower than the A13 in the 9th Gen iPad. I had a 4th gen and it was basically unusable on its final IOS version (IOS 10) back in 2017.

  • +1

So annoyed… I was up at 2am playing Zelda then went to bed… If only I checked ozbargain!

  • Damn missed it

  • Kids need iPad for school… this would have been perfect! Still using their crappy/slow old ones, this would have been a nice upgrade.
Damn sleep requirements! Always good deals in the middle of the night!

  • +1

I think I should start a website where I tell people when I’m buying something, because it seems that no matter how long I wait or how careful I am it seems to go on sale the next day or two….

Oh well. I’m sure it isn’t just me.

    Thanks OP.

  • man I just want a larger screen ipad like the 12.9 ipad pro but without the pro specs so it's not $2000+ - if I'm paying that much I want the ipad to be at least as large as the galaxy tab s8 ultra

    • +1

I have the same wish as you, but I don't think we'll ever get it. When my 3rd Gen 12.9 loses iPadOS support I think I'll just buy one of these $600 13" Lenovo tablets instead. I only use it for web browsing and Youtube anyway.

  • +1

Lenovo tablets are of poor build quality, I have had two with little use fail in under 12 months while still under warranty.
