Unconfirmed if it still includes the International calls & texts as it doesn't specify in the Woolworths catalogue.

However from Amaysim Page ($119 & $149), Unlimited international call and text to selected countries should still be included.

    • Yup. The 119 page was down for sometime but back online since mid-last week.

      • The link to 28 countries is pointed to 404 error.

    • [The critical info summary] (https://www.amaysim.com.au/dms/amaysim/documents/critical-in…) would suggest they are still included.

Sorry if this is not the Woolworths one

    • Not all Woolworths stores have the $119/120GB pack. How to find the stores that would have it? Thanks

  • Can I use this to recharge my existing plan?

    • +4

These are starter packs and not recharge voucher. You would be required to port out and port back in again.

      • Got it :)

      • Can you port out and back in same day or there is certain amount of wait time?

      • Any trick to port out to another network for 1 day & port back to amaysim to use this offer?

      • -1

Often amaysim does this same plan for $90 directly from thier website
Its currently $99 to fall in line with the Woolworths offer

I got this same plan for only $60 during thier black Friday sale last November.
So amaysim remains very compeditive in the marketplace

Furthermore the equivalent Coles mobile plan (also through Optus) also frequently sells for $95 - $99 and includes data rollover plus intenational calls to 22 countries

    • Yes, I did today. Just chat with support

      • Did you buy the starter kit from WW and then contact them, or just contacted them directly?

  • +4

does the woolworths monthly 10% apply to purchase of this sim card ? thanks

    • +3

      Yep, worked for me

      • Is this from a previous deal since this one has not started yet? It worked for you in store, you paid the discounted amount and it worked correctly with receipt? On the Woolworths ER T&Cs. it says it cannot be used for "mobile recharge" which sounds like it would include mobile prepaid

        • +1

Perhaps they treat 'starter kits' separately to recharge vouchers?

        • I haven't read it, but do they mean Woolworths Mobile?

        • "Mobile Recharge" is where they type in something on their till and it prints a receipt with a code for you to use. Its a voucher. This is an actual product with a barcode - so HAS always worked fine for me.
That said - I purchased a sim card last week (not this one) and for the first time ever was not allowed to pay using gift cards - because the till recognised the sim card pack (a Vodafone one) as being a "gift card" and the lady tried several times to process it because she knew it was not a gift card so I should be able to pay with a gift card but after a while I just paid by card. So it is possible they have changed something and we will now have issues getting the 10% and/or paying by GC, or there are just certain barcodes that are programmed differently, or as they have just changed the rewards so you can't use them online its possible they have recategorised this as well with that change?
However for sim cards purchased off the shelf like this I have always got the 10% and paid by card until last week.

Also confirming I received 10% discount buying this product last time from having insurance policy

I wasnt able to use woolworths egiftcard to pay though so had to pay cash

    • +3

I bought one of these in April and I did get 10% off using the Woolworths monthly shop.
I was not able to pay at self check-out with a Woolworths egift card.
I was able to pay with discounted Coles MasterCard gift cards.

  • Can I pay for this with egift card?

    • Yes

      • Reading previous deals, most people were saying they were not able to use gift cards to make the payment in store. If it's changed that would be great since NRMA Blue offers 4% discounted GCs

        • I've never had a problem paying with discounted GCs, but I always buy sims with other shopping so maybe it just doesn't work if you are only buying the sim cards on their own? Done it on self serve and tills.

          • @Webber000: I'll just do a normal shop and see what happens when paying with Everyday Pay… Hope it works as that would bring the cumulative discount to $26~ or $93 purchase price for 365 days (or more if you value Qantas points at 2c+ per point)

            • @rekke: I don't use Everyday Pay I use the Woolworths Money app (Gift Card App) if that makes any difference?

    • +1

I tried paying with eGC last time the deal was on and couldn't. Only able to apply 10% insurance discount

  • +3

Hi guys, how long do you have to activate sim? Or it depends on the expiry date on the pack? Thanks

    • Would like to know as well. Just had my 6m recharge go off for Woolies mobile end of last month but this would be a good saving over that.

12 months on my sim from previous deal linked in op

      • +1

Chatted to amaysim. You have 90 days to activate According to them?
I’ll try to go instore and check

        • Oof too short for me. Thanks for checking

  • +6

Thanks for posting, will help… My Kogan 365 day plan is about to run out in 2 weeks, I can either:

    • $120 for 120GB Kogan Mobile 365 day
    • $119 for 120GB Amaysim 365 day (-$10 worth of EDR, -10% from Everyday Extras?)
    • $109 for 120GB Catch Connect 365 day
    • $170 for 125GB Woolworths Mobile + monthly 10% discount

For the non-Woolworths plans you can simply subscribe to Everyday Extras for $60/year which ends up having more benefits than Woolworths Mobile however I am highly suspicious that anyone that locks themself into a yearly Woolworths plan might get less 'Targeted Offers'.

Anyone made a similar decision or know of any better deal than the above? Min data would be 110GB/year.

    • Do you think that those who get $60/month Woolworths extra get more 'targeted offers ' ?

      • +1

It's quite literally complete speculation from me, but I would think that someone who has committed to an annual plan with Woolworths might get less Everyday Rewards targeted offers than someone on the monthly plan, which is why I do the monthly plan. I assume you meant the $7/month Everyday Extras plan which is the one I'm subscribed to currently.

At any time I can pull the pin and take all my grocery shopping back to Aldi and if I stop getting favourable offers, that's exactly what I'll do. With the annual plan, they've already got you committed and don't need to 'win you back' with targeted offers, unless maybe you completely ignore the 10% monthly shop.

Whereas if you signup for a yearly plan, you are somewhat comitted to get the monthly shop in, which that in itself will get you less offers if you are doing a large shop every month.

        • That is true as we don't get booster point like we used but now they give boosters on things we don't buy and mostly we don't earn boosters unless there is specific deal going around for everyone.

However, it was handy discount to have but they jacked up mobile price so it is not worth anymore.

Will be porting out of Woolworths mobile before next recharge… !

    • +2

Amaysim doesn’t have conference call facility( if that something you need), but Kogan & catch mobile does. Not sure about Woolworths mobile.

      • ahh… explains an embarrassing situation I found myself in then

      • Can someone else (not on Amaysim) add you to a conference call or is that not possible either?

    • +1

The everyday extra offers also bigw 10% off. That in itself it’s a huge bonus. I was initially thinking of getting the Woolies offer but at $170 it’s too expensive. I will probably just get one year at $110 with amaysim. Husband has woolworths insurance but if I need another discount I’ll just buy the everyday extras.

      • Yep, stacked like 4 offers with my Big W Everyday Extras coupon and got the new Zelda for something like $55, love Everyday Extras. I never realised how good Big W actually is - I've always shopped at Kmart but the products I got have mostly been rubbish and broken very quickly, but my Big W products have actually been better quality for only a slightly higher price.

    • +1

I'm churning from Catch coz it's $150 for existing customers.
Do these telcos look at their retention stats? By ignoring existing customers and targeting new, their recharge sales stats must my lousy.

      • +1

I'm guessing a large majority don't realise how easy it is to port somewhere else and stick it up these companies that treat existing customers like shit.

  • +1

Can I buy and activate in July 1st week. Or any expiry date to activate this new number ?

    • I would like to know this too. I am with woolworths mobile and it will expire June 13

  • Unlimited standard international text to 42 countries

I cannot see this in catalogue. Can someone plz confirm

  • +3

Paid $60 for 60GB in nov last year :) but wouldnt complain

  • Is it worth switching from boost to this or nah

    • Depends on your location signal strength. For me, Boost/ Telstra all the way.

    • +2

Boost recharge prices are going up soon.. though they frequently have starter pack deals for new customers only. You can Switch to amaysim for this deal - then when boost have a good starter deal just port back to them.

    • The cheapest recharge of Boost is now $230 for 12 months, wanted to move to others but have more than 7 months left till the next recharge.

  • +1

Any time limit as to when you have to activate the $149 plan by?

  • +1

    This or Coles mobile?

    • Both use Optus so it depends on the price & inclusions.

    • Or catch connect

    • +2

Overall they are very similar, but amaysim has better international roaming packs, if that's ever needed.

      • +1

Amasim's support is pretty good. Coles is nonexistent

    • +1

      Amaysim has esim unlike coles

  • Can this be combined with the similar existing plan?
    TIA

  • What timing. Need to get something for mum and I'm biased towards Amaysim - get this and save the hassle of worrying about her mobile for a year or go pay as you go with Lebara? She didn't even use 1gig last year lol

    • How much is lebara for one year ?

    • Amaysim any day. My bias. Better network coverage. $10 per month on the higher plan.

      Why not.

    • Amaysim also has pay as you go

  • +1

    Activation time once purchased anyone?

  • +1

$10 referral credit on Amaysim SIM activation?

  • Can this be in eSim or just physical sim?

    • +1

      can be eSim

  • Anyone know if they do QR codes for esim or is it an in-app process?

I’ve had nightmare dramas with Optus trying to get connected in-app when a qr would’ve fixed the prob

    • +2

Inapp process… Qr codes will soon be removed by all carriers

    • just to confirm to use their e-sim feature you buy the physical sim (from woolies) and activate e-sim via amaysim app?

      • Yes. I just did it today.

  • Damn, I just signed up with mate $1/month 120gb/month for the next 3 months. If I can delay activation for the next 3 months then I'd jump on this.

I might be better off elsewhere anyway as I use ~20gb/month.

  • Can anyone tell me which sim is best port out now?

    • No need, just chat and get it applied to your existing number.

  • Is this possible for existing customers with amaysim? E.g. port number to woolies new sim?

  • +1

Shopback aso have $35 cashback on the $200/180GB plan if you need more data. Ends up being similar price per GB.

  • the long expiry plans don't mention talk and text inclusions to other countries in the catalogue description, is this confirmed anywhere?

    • Last year i went on chat and asked them to email the CIS to me and they did

  • +2

On this day 1 year ago. Bring this banger back!

  • If Optus covers you well it is this or Coles mobile. I tried both and the latter made me happier.

  • +4

Chatted to amaysim. You have 90 days to activate

    • Thanks for that!

      • +1

Apparently on the packs says 1 year. I’ll try to go in store and I’ll report back

        • can't see the information on the pack I bought, checked the CIS, not information about the $149 pack

    • Chatted to Amaysim too, they said we had one year to activate

  • So I can buy $119 and starter kit on 1st june using my 10% off ?

  • Hi guys, just checking,

if coming from Boost, I have to port to the $2 sim first,
and then apply the e.g. $119 renewal,

    is that about right? TIA.

    • +1

Just buy the starter pack from Woolies. No need to port to the $2 sim.

      • +1

I spoke to Amaysim about porting my number in June they said you need to buy $2 sim to port the number .

  • Hello, I am a bit confused about where I can purchase the $120GB for $119 plan. I’ve inquired online and was told that my Woolworths does not have these in stock and furthermore that they have never heard of this deal. Cheers.

    • It's on page 48 of the catalogue and available in-store only.

  • Online catalogue shows $149 for 120GB?

    • +1

Page 48 Bottom Right Corner shows $119 (save $30).
