      • Knew this was going to happen.

        • Yeah it wasn't unexpected. I even said so here

        • Have already told in my first comment
"" However when I tried to do the same for my 3rd card, account got blocked and they now need some proofs.""

    • proofs of what ?

      • Statement of the card used and my identity proofs

  • Is it expired? Not until 6th??? The discount seems not to applies on the page😓

    • Not seeing the discount either :(

    • The discounted stock finished

      • +2

        The discounted stock finished

We don't know for certain that 'The discounted stock finished'.

It could have been due to a technical issue that the promotion was stopped. Eg, some people reported that they were receiving cards that appeared to have been already activated and used. Coles and Heritage Bank may have determined that the risk was too great to continue without further investigation of the complaints, or they may have investigated and determined that there was a technical issue and that the issue was unable to be resolved quickly.

        • -1

Well without an official announcement, the only reason for promotion to end early is the discounted stock has run out.. since in the T&C says while stocks last. There's many other reasons we can speculate on but there's no point to do so. Everytime a promotion like this runs, one just has to purchase as quickly as possible.

Just because there was no announcement, does not mean there was no technical issue.

Of course we can speculate as to the reasons. We know from reports that there were technical issues.

    should have bought more

It seems you can't add this card to Shopback as a payment method anymore.

I got the error message of "Unable to link card - For security reasons, you can't link this card to this ShopBack Account. Use a card from a different issuing bank and try again".

    • How many from this deal had you previously linked?

      • Max two cards in one day.

        • +1

I think they do this for all cards from the same provider, they only let you add a certain number (no idea when the limit resets)

    • Trying to add my first one to shopback and got the same error :/

Edit: added a different one and it worked. First one had already been used on prezzee and has $100 balance.

      • Did you use it on Prezzee or is this another case of the same card being issued to multiple people?

        • Yeah I used it. It wasn't hacked. Dunno why it didn't work adding it to shopback though when a new one with full $250 balance worked.

  • +5

    bring this deal back sheesh.

My card got charged for a failed transaction from 31st morning when they were having all sorts of issue.
The transaction was in pending state for 4 days and I thought it would drop off but the charge has gone through without me receiving the GC’s.
Lot of us had failed transactions, have you guys been charged and later on refunded or has the charged just dropped off?

The only proof of this failed transaction that I have is a screenshot which doesn’t have any card or transaction details. Just a time stamp.

    • +1

same. everyone needs to check their bank statements

update: called them. they were able to find the failed transaction and are now processing a refund

      • Same here. Did you get a refund already? Wondering how long this takes.

  • I so wanted to buy more!

    • +3

      As did most of us

  • Got an interesting message from the ATO. They said "You recently requested a refund of an overpayment. We'll reverse this payment to the originating credit/debit card within 28 days.

    Australian Taxation Office"

    Didn't go too well

    • Did you request a refund?

      • Yes I did. used 15 cards :-)

    • Oh dear! Does this mean you are now out of pocket the payment processing fee, and now have the money back onto your card?

      • Unsure, we shall see I guess?

        • My ATO account was in debit slightly and they refunded back to the card without warning me. This was a few months ago with the physical cards. Luckily, I kept all my physical cards - i had to search one by one to find the card they refunded back to. i did get refunded the processing fee so you won't lose out

          • @thriftee: Do you get an email or just refund automatically?

            • @ady211: Automatically. I logged in to check my balances and noticed it.

Edit: my comment above was mean to be CREDIT (not debit).

              • @thriftee: Oh no, that's not good. I hope they don't do that to me. I better lodge my tax return so that credit gets crystalised. Damn ATO, don't even want our money it seems.

                • @Bdawg: Yeah, i dont recommend having a positive balance for the income tax account. I have positive for my PAYG account and that is fine.

              • +1

@thriftee: For me also it shows credit for now. Assuming it will be refunded when I file for my taxes

  • bring this deal back

  • Hey guys, just wondering, can I use these cards to buy gift cards from shopback? Any issues?

    • Yes you can use them with no issues on Shopback. However you can only add a certain number of these cards before they block you from adding more.

  • +3

FYI folks - 4 out of my 12 cards purchased from this deal got compromised.
    This is nothing but BS.

    • +2

Sorry to hear. That was quick. How soon were the cards compromised? Have to spend the rest asap. Hope you get the refund soon

    • Same merchant or bunch of different ones?

    • Wow.
Can you see what purchases and when they were made?

    • +3

      Reply to all:
      - Cards were not used so they still have the full balance of $250
      - Called them and got told they 'believe' those cards are compromised due to the card numbers are found in some search results online
      - They took my details down, raised a case and will be sending physical replacement cards to my address within next 10 business days

      • Digitals should be a digital solution, not physical way.

      • due to the card numbers are found in some search results online

Wow wonder how this can happen, so if you did a search of Coles Master card card numbers there's lists somewhere?

      • I have the same issue. Paypal is giving an error "Your card has been declined by the issuer" but the card balance is showing the full amount. Tried the Prezee and WW and they both failed. I called the giftcards.com.au number and they asked me to call the Coles Mastercard number, which is 0756606022. Had to hold the phone for 40 minutes until someone answer the call.

When I called them, they asked me to try giftcards.com.au and said they can issue a replacement card, but it will take 30 days. Which phone number did you call?

        • I’m about to reach that “30 days” mark, let’s see if they are being honest.
Personally, I highly doubt it. Full of lies, different answers everytime I called them.
If not arriving, which gov entity I could seek help from? ACCC or some ombudsman?

  • I just found one of my card could not be added to PayPal, it said that the card is already linked by a different account.
I panicked and used it all to pay bills. I think their system messed up and sent same card to multiple people.
Has anyone who got compromised had any response from Coles, giftcards.com.au, or Heritage?

    • Please see comment above yours from mrhorse

  • They still have plenty in stock at Coles? Why is the deal expired?
Was there a certain amount of card purchases that would get the 10 percent off and that amount has since been surpassed?

    • +3

This is the previous 'digital' offer, not the physical cards

  • +4

Cannot add card to PayPal. Anyone has the same issue?

    • +2

I have the same issue. Paypal is giving an error "Your card has been declined by the issuer"

    • +1

same here: Your card has been declined by your card issuer. Please try a different card or contact your card issuer.

  • +1

Yep.. I am having exactly the same problem this morning with Paypal.. though it was working perfectly fine last Friday.

    • +1

      I had no issues yesterday

      • +1

No issues here yesterday too. Used it to purchase stuff on eBay via PayPal

        • Be interesting if they have now blocked PayPal.

          • +1

@capslock: I tried to use them in Woolworths or Prezzee and they all rejected too

            • @Dr-Bargain: Just tried to link another card and it was declined for me as well.

No issue with using the cards that were previously linked already.

          • +5

@capslock: Blocked here aswell. Might be time for another mass organised AFCA complaint. They can't advertise this as use anywhere Mastercard is accepted, and the day after the sale block it. Thats illegal and foul practice.

            • @chyawala: more and more places can no longer use it, my post office do not accept it neither now. Its value has reduced

      • Not just Paypal, i cant add it to shopback for GC purchases nor can i link it to my ebay for purchases. Anyone worked out whats going on?

  • +1

Guys i got a refund processed onto this card from amazon but it's not showing in the card.. how do i go about getting my money?

  • Same here, can't use it buy in any platforms. Tried Paypal, NRMA, Perkbox, Shopback. Can't buy any gift cards.

    • This might be the end of an era.

  • +2

"Can only be used for online purchases."
What does this really mean? I currently can't use anywhere online :
Paypal, NRMA, Perkbox, Shopback, eBay, woolworths

  • Anyone know what is happening, like others have reported now the cards look fine with balance go to use them on most sites and transaction declined due to provider? Declined with betfair, sportsbet, Suncorp (paying insurance), accepted by Origin (paying energy bill). All pretty strange and seems odd they should work mostly where credit card is taken within reason.

    • Basically, block any merchants that may let you cash out, buy discounted eGCs.

  • Has anyone found a workaround for this? I'd at least prefer to exchange these with WW gift cards

  • I have the same as many above it seems. bought 4x $250 cards, gradually using them to swap for WW GC. first 3 were fine. The last one cannot add into Paypal with "Your card has been declined by the issuer" error.

    • What is WW GC?

      • Woolworths gift card

  • Haven't had any luck, bought 10x $250 cards and none of them can be added to my PayPal. Keep getting "your card has been declined by your card issuer". Any tips?

    • Better hurry and use them up. Pay utilities or other bills.

    • +2

I've had one card already added to paypal and partially used weeks ago. Now it can't be used via PayPal, but using the card directly works with the same merchant. I think they already blocked PayPal.

      • +3

        Just tried
Same, not working with added card

    • I'm having the same problem. My guess is that PayPal saw a spike in these gift cards getting added to their system and their automated fraud prevention has blocked them.

  • Restaurant choice gift card has 5% off now with code EOFY5. Anyone want to try if prepaid mc can be used there? Too bad I already used up all my cards.

    • 5% is really low for these.

      • I know, but that's what we have for now.

    • Only good if you are dining out for sure in next 1-2 weeks

  • +1

anyone reckon PayPal will come back online with these?

Could be related to the CommBank system issues?

    • No its been happening for several days now.

      • I would say it won't be back.

The main cause is the TCN no card fee VISA deal in which people bought the VISA eGC by this card in PayPal. A further discussion revealed TCN is owned by Incomms Payments. In other words, the existence of PayPal makes this kind of deal redundant, no new cash to the business, only fee loss to PayPal. In addition, some people accessed cash via PayPal.

  • +3

So just to update, PayPal still not working for me. But Shopback seems to be working now - didn't work for last couple days but I just managed to add a new GC

    • Can confirm, ShopBack works for me too.. looking at what to buy from them now.

  • Such a long post!

  • +2

Coles running 5% Off digital $250 Coles Mastercard now

  • +7

Add to PayPal working for me now. Was able to add 4 cards.

    • +1

nice, thanks! added and used on WW GC

    • Worked for me. Thanks

    • Is that just by adding a card?
