Welcome to the ultimate guide of Netflix subscriptions

Updates:

  • 27/06/23 2pm – Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
    • Original deal post rates: Basic TL₺63.99 (~A$4.06), Standard TL₺97.99 (~A$6.22), Premium TL₺130.99 (~A$8.31)
  • 07/07/23 2am – Updated FAQ section to include all error codes as a result of the 30-day local restriction lockout.
  • 08/07/23 11pm – Updated Instructions section to include a new sign up method via OlduBil's Turkish Virtual Mastercard (Instructions – Method #2), with screenshots (tested and confirmed). I'll be drafting another set of instructions to separate Method #1 (Part 2) as another sign up method via a Turkey phone number. Stay tuned!

You probably know by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's going to be good and better than the previous one. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

This new guide has now been updated to include:

  • problems related to new subscriber sign-ups to Netflix Turkey. Please read the FAQ section for further clarification.
  • new statistics in regards to pricing
  • screenshots at each necessary step of the sign up process (yes, I unnecessaily spent a chunk of money to test the local region lockout and to obtain screenshots to better guide everyone through the sign up process! I hope this helps - please see Instructions Part 3 for these screenshots)

Note that due to a recent and continuing crash in the Turkish Lira currency, the TRY-AUD is hitting an all time low. All prices in this guide are current as of 27 June 2023.

Netflix Post History Notes
09/06/2023 - This post Netflix Region Lock
28/01/2023 Price Hike
22/10/2022 Price Hike
14/06/2022 Price Hike
01/10/2021

Similar to my last post, I'm resharing this guide after previous deal post expired due to Netflix imposing a lock region lock. Luckily, there are no more price hikes for now, after having the third price hike for Turkey within a 10 month period.

  • Turkey is no longer the cheapest country for a Netflix subscription on all tiers, after they increased prices multiple times (Example: Premium plan from TL₺54.99 to TL₺77.99 to TL₺93.99 to TL₺130.99 in a span of just over a year).
    • However, obtaining a Turkey-based Netflix Gift Card is extremely easy and effortless, making it the easiest and therefore cheapest country to sign up with.
  • Pakistan is the cheapest country for all Netflix plans, however, obtaining a Pakistan-based Netflix Gift Card to sign up is almost impossible, so avoid this path.
  • NEW!! Netflix Argentina is now ARS999 (A$6.10) for the Basic Plan and ARS2,399 (A$14.64) for the Premium Plan (in the last Netflix post, Argentina prices were ARS699 (A$4.27) for the Basic Plan and ARS1,899 (A$11.59) for the Premium Plan - that's a 42.9% and 26.3% increase, respectively). The Argentina Peso has dropped, but plans are still more expensive.

Please note: If you DO NOT have a Turkey number, please sign up via instructions Part 1 and then Part 3. Avoid doing Part 2

There are plenty of previous threads on users commenting their experience. Please read it if you are stuck. See here and here and here and here and here

Instructions – Method #1 (If you want Netflix to charge your Australian debit/credit card each month)

Please read the following instructions carefully.

Part 1 - Ensure you have your Australian mobile number and debit/credit card saved in your account

Complete either steps (a) or (b), depending on your current situation

a. If you currently have an Australian Netflix subscription:

  1. Make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  2. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account. If your payment method is PayPal, remove this immediately and replace it will a debit/credit card.

  3. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, simply cancel your subscription and wait until the end of the renewal period (i.e. keep watching until the sub expires. Don’t let your sub go to waste since you’ve already paid for it). Once your subscription has expired, go to Part 2 or Part 3

b. If you DO NOT have a current Australian subscription:

  1. Sign up and subscribe to any Australian Netflix plan (preferably the lowest cost basic plan - don’t worry, you’ll get your money back). Do not use PayPal to sign up, it must be a debit/credit card.

  2. Once you’ve signed up, make sure your Australian mobile number is saved and verified in your account. See this screenshot

  3. Make sure your current or new debit/credit card is saved and verified in your account.

  4. Once you’ve triple checked your mobile is added and verified, go to Netflix Live Chat and tell them you “would like a full refund since you’ve changed your mind” - they usually don’t ask why but if they do make up some random excuse like “my sibling just signed up” or “you don’t want it anymore” etc. This should be a very fast step and take you only several minutes. The account cancellation will be effective immediately and the refund will arrive in a few hours or days

  5. Once your subscription has expired (should be immediate as you’ve cancelled it for a refund through live chat), go to Part 2 or Part 3

Part 2 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey (Direct Method - No Gift Cards - MOST LIKELY TO FAIL - AVOID)

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before starting Part 2. It has completely ended when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership

  1. With VPN off, log into your Netflix account

  2. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/
    ExpressVPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem: You use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, but it defaults to one of the cities of Turkey that is not Istanbul.
Possible Solution: You want it to land in Istanbul, Turkey, so keep turning off and on the VPN until it lands in Istanbul. Confirm it’s Istanbul by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

  3. Open Netflix on a new tab and proceed to Netflix to choose your plan:

    https://www.netflix.com/

  4. Proceed by adding your Australian credit/debit card as the backup payment method

Possibly working cards from: 28 Degrees, ANZ Rewards, Citibank Debit, Macquarie

Possible Problem: If it asks for a Turkish mobile number, you will have to find a working one so they can send you verification. AFAIK, there is no way bypassing this and you will need to sign up via Part 3

Part 3 - Signing up via Netflix Turkey (Using Gift Cards if Part 2 Fails) - EASIEST METHOD

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before signing up to this deal (i.e. when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership)

  1. Purchase a Turkey Netflix Gift Card (any value is fine, even if it's not enough to cover the full month)

Note: Choose a reputable seller and make an account so you have a record of the purchases if anything goes wrong. I recommend Turgame (I've bought Turkey Apple GC's from there and they have fast delivery (at night time AEST), they charge the same price as the gift card value and the payment gateway fee is very low) or g2a

  2. Once you’ve received your gift card, it’s time to redeem your gift card and sign up to Netflix Turkey at the same time. Make sure from Part 1 that you have not logged out. You must stay logged in to your Australian account. If you’ve logged out, please log back in now with VPN turned off (Logging into your Australian account with a VPN on gives an error)

  3. Activate a VPN service, turn it on and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/ (recommended, paid)
    Urban VPN: https://www.urban-vpn.com/ (recommended, free)
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/ (recommended, free)
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs where possible

Possible Problem 1: If you use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, sometimes it defaults to random serves and therefore random cities of Turkey that will give you the wrong pricing (ideally, you want Istanbul). In this case, keep turning off and on the VPN until it switches to a different server/location. Confirm the location by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/. If this fails, change your VPN provider.

  4. With VPN on, open a new tab and go to the following Netflix site to redeem your gift card See this screenshot:

    https://www.netflix.com/tr-en/redeem

Possible Problem: On the plan selection page, the currency is not in Turkish Lira
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed

Possible Problem: When redeeming the Turkey Netflix Gift Card, it gives an error (code invalid, etc)
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed. If after several VPNs and this issue still occurs, try to reach out to your place of purchase due to them possibly issuing you an incorrect code

  5. Follow the prompts of the sign up process. This screenshot will show the first page after applying the gift card. Click "Next" to land on this page. Choose the plan you want, then click "Next" to land on the payment page in step 6

  6. Proceed by choosing a backup payment method. Be careful with this step and look at the screenshot!

  • If you did Part 1 instructions correctly then your payment method is already saved within your account - in this case, press "skip this step" at the bottom. On the next page, click "Next" (see screenshot). Now Netflix will want to confirm your details to make sure it is correct as per (this screenshot). Double check, tick the checkbox and start your membership!

  • Otherwise, if for some reason you haven't done Part 1 correctly or your debit/credit card has expired, you will have to add a new debit/credit card (see screenshot). Beward this may prompt you for a Turkey number verification (which I guarantee you don't have otherwise you would have done Part 2) - if this happens, please complete Part 1 again (see fix below)

Possible Problem: After entering your debit/credit card details, it asks for a Turkish mobile number
Possible Solution: Two causes for this. Cause (1): the problem is due to your VPN - Double check or change your VPN if needed, then go back to step 4. Cause (2): This is because you've entered a new debit/credit card. In this case, please click back on your browser and avoid entering a new card by pressing "skip this step" at the bottom. If this option does not appear, please restart Part 1 and ensure you save the card you wish to use as a backup payment.

Possible Problem: My debit/credit cards keep declining, and I'm unable to subscribe
Possible Solution: It's likely the problem is due to your VPN. Double check or change your VPN if needed and restart the whole process. However, if VPN is not the problem, you can continue to subscribe without a backup payment method (i.e. start your subscription with just the Gift Card you bought), and then afterwards you can contact live chat and tell them you need to update your payment method by asking them to send a payment form popup (this will allow you to add a credit/debit card and save it into the account). If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one.

Note: If you bought a gift card that has a higher value than your selected plan, you’ve just used your gift card to pay for the first month, as well as partially for the second month. For the second month, Netflix will deduct the remaining of the gift card, and the remaining balance will come out of the credit/debit card you’ve inputted, and from thereon each month Netflix will keep charging your bank at those rates (be aware many banks like Commonwealth Bank have a small international transaction fee but this is only a few cents extra. Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees). Besides this, you should be saving >$100 AUD each year at least ($200 saving annually for the premium plan)

  1. You’re done! Turn off your VPN and enjoy your subscription :)

Instructions – Method #2 (If you want Netflix to charge your OlduBil Turkish Virtual Mastercard each month)

Turkey-based Virtual Mastercard Required! If you do not have a Turkey-based Virtual Mastercard, see how to get one here in the instructions section (Part 1 and Part 2). You can use it forever, with many deals to come!

Please ensure your subscription has completely ended/expired before signing up to this deal (i.e. when you can no longer watch anything and Netflix asks you to resubscribe or restart your membership).

  1. Log in to your Australian Netflix account, or sign up for an account. Make sure you log in with VPN turned off (logging into your Australian account with a VPN gives an error).

  2. Activate a VPN service, and set it to Turkey (Istanbul is the largest city). There’s many free VPN’s if you don’t have a subscription to one. Here's a few great VPNs that work:

    Nord VPN: https://nordvpn.com/ (recommended, paid)
    Urban VPN: https://www.urban-vpn.com/ (recommended, free)
    Windscribe VPN: https://www.windscribe.com/ (recommended, free)
    Express VPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/
    PureVPN: https://www.purevpn.com/

Note: Use chrome browser plugins for these VPNs, where possible.

Possible Problem: If you use Windscribe VPN and set it to Turkey, sometimes it defaults to random serves and therefore random cities of Turkey that will give you the wrong pricing (ideally, you want Istanbul). In this case, keep turning off and on the VPN until it switches to a different server/location. Confirm the location by refreshing this page: https://whatismyipaddress.com/. If this fails, change your VPN provider.

  3. With VPN on, refresh the main netflix webpage. Alternatively, go to this link:

    https://www.netflix.com/tr-en/

Possible Problem: On the plan selection page, the currency is not in Turkish Lira
Possible Solution: The problem is due to your VPN. Double check and/or change your VPN if needed

  4. Click on "Restart Membership" and follow the prompts of the sign up process. Click "Next and then select the plan you want. Click "Next"and then click "Credit or debit card". Enter your OlduBil Virtual Mastercard details, full name, tick the T&Cs declaration, and then click "Start Membership".

  5. At this stage you're done. Don’t enter anything on this page. Netflix will ask some random questions (just to set up your account). After that, your account will be complete, and you can enjoy your subscription!

FAQ

Q: I just signed up and when I go to watch something I get the following error: "Your account can't be used in this location"
A: It seems like every new sign-up to Netflix Turkey is subject to a local restriction lockout. This can take anywhere from as little as several days to 30 days. There are many reports from OzBargainers and others reporting this error disappears within 30 days. During this lockout restriction, you can still watch shows and movies, but you must use a Turkey VPN to do so (otherwise the error will pop up). Since this is only temporary, it shouldn't be a problem after 30 days or so, andthis small hassle is well worth the savings.

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I watch Netflix?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you watch a show or movie. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Netflix without a VPN and you will have access to the Australian Netflix library.

Q: I want to watch a show/move from another region or country. Can I do this?
A: If you want to watch a show or movie that is region locked to another country, you can do so by setting your VPN on your phone, laptop or PC to that country to watch it. Yes, you will need a VPN for this

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Netflix subscription, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely! See Part A

Q: My bank blocked my payment, what do I do?
A: Some banks block 1st attempt and then text to confirm it's you. Once you reply, 2nd attempt may work. If after several attempts it does not work, just go through the Gift Card method and avoid the pain

Q: How do I update to a new debit/credit card?
A: You can contact live chat and ask them to send a payment form popup (this will allow you to add a credit/debit card and save it into the account). If the agent refuses or has no idea what you’re trying to say, end the chat and start a new one.

Q: Is signing up to Netflix Turkey going to affect my Netflix library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Netflix catalogue may be weird with brand new shows, etc… It might not even change anything, but if it does change, your Netflix catalogue will adjust to what you’re watching and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?
A: See here. Don't worry, there really isn't any tax you need to worry about.

  • Why go through all this effort when you can just get a debrid account and stream whatever you want via services such as Weyd and Syncler?

  • Hey thanks for your work Pennies. Quick question…how many people can we share with? And how many can watch at the same time? Is it ok if they're in different locations? Cheers!

    • same as netflix anywhere - 4 on the premium plan etc

      • I thought it was 6?

      • Maybe 6 profiles but 4 simultaneous streams

    • You can make 5 profiles. The number of profiles that can watch at the same time depends on the plan you buy

      • I can't seem to find this info online or in the post. I've got the top tier plan. The 4k one.

  • -6

Anyone getting the error that your account cant be used in this location after signing up fod this?

    • +7

ffs, you obviously haven't read a single reply nor the OP .. smh

    • +1

Hey, please read FAQ of the post thanks

  • +6

My Region lock got cleared on 29th day. Wohooo.
    OP rocks

  • +4

My location lock has also been lifted. It is now the 29th day. @I Smell Pennies… thanks for the awesome guide and work!

  • +1

@I Smell Pennies Thanks for your post. Managed to redeem Turkey's Gift card on Netflix Turkey via VPN to Istanbul/Turkey.

Received same error as reported in this forum re: Geolocation restriction. Will report back on 23 July or hopefully before.

  • Given how there is a 30 day lock out, I highly recommend people to sign up for the basic plan and then upgrade to standard once the lock out has ended.

Unsure if the plan chosen matters regarding the lockout… e.g. Premium plan will have 15 days while standard plan is 30 days. Could be something to play around with and test out or if people can comment which plan they picked.

    • 'Highly recommend' based on what??? I am on UHD and locked out till 10/7 if the 30 days works out. I'm not suffering any streaming degradation using a VPN either.

      • +1

Depends on the VPN - are you using a free or paid one?

UHD allows 4 simultaneous viewing at the same time. Most people won't be able to take advantage of that included feature on VPN.

        • Paid one. It's the only way to get UHD regardless of number of streams although I have 2 peeps outside household also using… Everyone has access to VPN's these days

  • +2

Should update price in title and post, 130.99 lira is now $7.55 AUD. Thanks inflation!

    • I will update it tonight, it’s still crashing!!!

      • +5

You know what they say, one mans economic downfall is another mans cheaper netflix plan

  • +3

    Fantastic stuff, worked a charm!

I chatted and they asked for a reason (there already is an account for the household is what I said) and they canceled and refunded instantly.

During redemption of the gift card, it asked for my CVV. I hit back and then proceeded to skip payment method which worked fine.

To get around the region lock in the meantime, I used Control D. A fantastic DNS service which means no VPN so not added latency, and set it to 'redirect' traffic for Netflix only via Turkey. This took a few minutes to set up with my router. They offer a one month trial. I got confused and thought I had to upgrade to a different plan but I just hadn't found where to set up this redirection on the Control D portal. Regardless, it cost me $4 USD for the month but I think you don't need to pay this.

This means Netflix thinks I am in Turkey without using a VPN no matter which device I used on home WiFi. I did this as I don't want to force all traffic through a VPN nor do I want to set up individual VPNs on everyone's devices and teach them how to use it.

Overall, a solid guide, very happy to be paying a LOT less for Netflix.

I used Turgame but I didn't get a code for some time. I wanted to get it over and done with so I purchased one through G2A instead which provided a code instantly. However, a couple hours later I received the Turgame code which I will just redeem later to add credit, once the first month charge has gone through.

I think people are still testing whether region lock simply lifts after 29 days or if it lifts after the first CC charge. If it's the first CC charge, which I will test and report back on 10 July, you can reduce the billing period by signing up to a Basic plan and upgrading to Premium after through account settings, this will bring back the billing date to an earlier date.

    Cheers!

    • +1

Nice suggestion. Not intuitive but it works great. I had to delete all other DNS over TLS resolvers in my router and only have the controld one and it works. I was happy using a VPN but this is better.
With Turgame, basically they start work at 11AM which is after 5PM here so if you buy a card early in the day you won't get it till after 5 but it works as you found. I think I'm planning on continuing to use giftcards.

      • +1

No, it was indeed a bit of a muck around. I don’t really know how it all works but it was fairly straight forward for someone slightly tech headed. But it meant the TV and everyone’s devices work seamlessly on the region locked plan so in a month I can just remove it and we can watch Aussie Netflix!

        • just tried it with Prime Video but it's detecting the VPN. I also had complete DNS failure yesterday so had to remove. I see it had defaulted to blocking malware and ads so today I turned those filters off and only have Netflix on now and everything seems happy… for now. I had enabled full analytics and it showed a couple of blocks (from yesterday) but nothing I recognized. I was watching youtube when it just locked me up. I also had an issue with a domain I host on my network not being accessible until I added an exception.

        • Now netflix is detecting it as well..

seems it's a known issue with controld and tv apps etc. So back to the VPN we go

          • +1

@DavidFW1960: I'm using Control D and my experience is that I'm able to access 80%+ of shows. The others recognise that a location blocker is used. Strange, but okay, I'll wait for my 30 days clear the block.

            • @CNH: might depend as well on the device you are using. I think it was fine on Windows but not on LG TV or my Chromecast. It's not worth persisting with for me anyway. My Privado VPN is working perfectly except for what looks like caching issues but everything plays. No issues

    • @prkr any chance you can provide some guidance on how to setup in Control D?

    • Interesting. Haven't heard about Control D before.
Can we use it for watching Netflix US?

  • does anyone know what is the process of changing credit card looks like once you're already set up as Turkish Netflix?

  • +1

Just finished this after my plan expired, worked a charm! Again another $ saving hack!

  • if i use an existing netflix account, will it trigger the 30 day lockout? or is that only when you use a brand new account?

    • Existing accounts as well

  • I followed all the steps, and got the lockout restriction, but I'm getting a different error:

    "Pardon the interruption

Sorry but we're having trouble with your request.

    Error code UI3012"

    Can anyone help?

  • +1

I signed up, thanks for all the tips.

When does the first payment from the card go? Does it pro-rate and use up the 100TL Gift card first, and then charge the card? I got the subscription running, but the card has not been charged yet.

    • +1

      You're welcome.

Correct. It will use up all available gift card balance and then charge your bank card. Sometimes they even pro-rate by changing the billing date to completely use up the remaining gift card, and then charge your bank card on that new billing date every month.

      • @I Smell Pennies would oldubil method work with netflix?

        • +2

I'd rather the gift card method because 1) it's so easy and 2) I'd rather they deduct from my Australian bank account with no international fees rather than having to top up OlduBil all the time. Do note OlduBil has a max limit of 2750 TL each month

      • +1

        Thanks mate!

  • Anyone know how to update payment method with an expired subscription? Doing my head in.

    • +1

When this happened to me, I had to signup to Australia again, I entered the new card, then cancelled, then flew to turkey again …

  • +1

Hey guys. Firstly I want to say thanks heap to the OP for this guide.

Secondly if I want yo update my credit card (already on file) because the old one is expiring soon. Can I just go into my account and do that myself or do I have to contact live chat?

  • Pardon for this question. For the Turkey account - we can see AU catalog (VPN or VPN less after 30 days *hopefully) as per I smell Pennies instruction. Is it possible to browse other countries catalog i.e. US?

    • Is it possible to browse other countries catalog i.e. US?

As I tried before, I can browse and watch HK movie (browser) with VPN on.

      • I accessed VPN to US region but I am not able to see US Catalog, only AU Catalog. Currently, we can only watch (AU Catalog) by VPN to Turkey Region with the method described in this thread.

        • Maybe US is difference, I am not sure.

    • +2

If you have a region locked account, you will only be able to see Turkey catalog.

Once it is unlocked, you will be able to view AU catalog or VPN to other countries for their catalog.

      • +1

For the Turkey account - we can see AU catalog (VPN or VPN less after 30 days *hopefully)

Yeah I think @ashura is talking about still region locked.

        • +1

You didn't mention whether your account is region lock or not but looks like you've been doing it for over a year.

Which means your experience won't be the same as @ashura who is asking about it.

          • +1

            @CodeXD:

You didn't mention whether your account is region lock or not but looks like

I can browse other than AU with VPN on, yes I am not region locked now.

Because @ashura said "after 30 days *hopefully)", so I assume is talking about during the region locked period.

            • @superforever: Thanks for the feedback. Do you use VPN on smart TV i.e. VPN app installed to watch other region/catalog? I find it hard to by-pass the proxy detection unless we tinker the config at router level. Hoping if there is a recommended VPN provider that can just do that? No issue with PC/via browser.

                @ashura:

Do you use VPN on smart TV i.e. VPN app installed to watch other region/catalog?

Tried didn't work when switch between apps, I don't need it anyway.

  • Worked well although you should just spell it out a bit more directly in step 6 and not just the screenshot. Eg. when it gets to payment click "skip this step" otherwise you're going to get the phone number verification (its the skip this step which effectively bypasses the phone number verification). Although its fine you can still click back and make it work.
Only having the info in the screenshot makes it easy to miss. Otherwise great work! Just have to use VPN for 30 days until the region lock is removed.

    • I’ll look at it again and see what’s the best I can do to change it. Thanks for your feedback!

positive feedback so far with accounts being unlocked after 30 days. Pulled the trigger tonight now to wait and see and watch some free to air TV until time permits (teehee). Actually the wife made me pay for foxtel too :(

Thanks OP for the Work Instruction

If only we could get Turkey rates for Foxtel, Kayo etc 😂

      • hmm sounds like you just talked yourself into a challenge :P.

@I Smell Pennies so just to be clear when I log into Netflix onto my tv and try and watch something it stipulates; "Sorry, your account can't be used on this device. For more info, go to help.netflix.com. This is the part I am now waiting 30 days for ?. Just want to confirm I have done it all correctly and that this is the expected error I need to be seeing.

        Thanks once again.

I can confirm i can log into my account and see all the titles in there to watch, but when i go to watch a title the above error message is presented to me.

        EDIT
m7111-5095 — seems from previous page this is the error i need to see :0 Godpseed

        • Yes correct. Just wait up to 30 days (can be unlocked earlier if you’re lucky) and then it should work freely without VPN

cheers, I had my number registered and verified but it still wanted a turkish number so I spent $5US on temp-number.org for a turkish number and it worked, so my first month of premium will cost me $15 with the temp number and Netflix sub but worth it overall, netflix charged my AU card no issues and in "my account" the number is still my AU number so it only used the turkish one for the verification

      Enjoy :)

    • When did you do this? I just tried to order a Turkey number, and getting the following message. Maybe they only have limited number of Turkish mobiles???
Temporary, we have no numbers available for this service/country. Try again later or contact support

A few minutes before I posted. Had to load it with $5 even though a Turkey number and sms is only 0.8 I just logged in and I could still choose Netflix and Turkey to activate a number for. Message me if you want I’m happy to use up the $4.20 in credit that’s left to get verification codes for others

        • If the number is verified on your account I don't think you can verify the number on another netflix account.

I could be wrong tho but there's no point of number verification if you can just use the same number for 10 different accounts.

          • @CodeXD: It’s a one use number just for getting the verification code it’s only active for twenty minutes. It also didn’t change my verified number in my account it seems Netflix use it purely for the verification code

            • @Japius: If I use a temp number to sign up can i change it to my local number later?

              • @Juice08: Not sure because it never changed my local number it only used the Turkish number to do the verification but it kept my AU number the same on my account

For me it only asked for Turkey number if you try to re-enter payment info. If you 'skip this step' it bypasses phone number verification

@I Smell Pennies awesome work and thanks for this.

If I to upgrade and downgrade plans, can I do this without a VPN? Or should I just turn on the VPN to do so?

I'm concerned it might do something I'm not expecting like revert me back Aussie pricing or something.

    Thanks!

Thanks for your support. When you go to the "Change Plan" page, everything is still in Turkish Lira (with VPN off). So I presume you can do it without VPN

        Thanks!

  • Awesome, thanks for the detailed instructions. Worked perfectly

  • Thanks for the guide, have signed up as of a couple of days ago.

Had originally planned to drop down from our family shared premium account to the ad supported tier (as most of our Netflix usage is the kids anyway), only to discover that that tier does not allow the iOS Picture in Picture functionality to work, which makes it pretty crap for our use case

  • does this work with a samsung tv? i don't want to watch it on my computer or iPad, i want to watch it on the big screen.

    • As long as the samsung TV access it via a Turkish VPN for 30 days you should then be fine. I am using a Chromecast running a VPN and using that for Netflix to my LG TV Big Screen

      • i use the netflix in the tv. i don't think i can install a vpn into the tv, it only downloads stream apps :(

  • uh oh. I'm getting the pricing in Euros ??

      uh oh. check vpn?
