    • Have you received it yet? Website says up to 10 business days, I'm at 7 now

  • Can you use this with beamit?

    • I dont think so. I dont think beemit allows you to use credit cards

      • It lets me add the card.

        • There you go. They might charge you a cash advance fee though if you move money off the card. Just something to watch out for

          • +1

@mitchbourke: No, you can’t transfer money out of CC with BeemIt. You can only use it to pay thru Beem checkout - at wherever that is.

  • Mine was conditionally approved, only need submit NOA, next day received a call to verify something and then got approved message. I also got NAB Qantas Platinum and Westpac Altitude Qantas Platinum approved after few days.

    • Woah, you applied all 3 at same time?

      • Actually 4, including St.George, apply in one and half months when the credit report is still not update and the new account has not list in credit report yet.

    • +1

So many minimum spend requirements to meet!

Does anyone know how they define "per month"? monthly statement cycle or calender month?

    • +2

      statement cycle.

    • +2

Statement cycle, which begins from the date you're approved for the credit card.

  • Does anyone know if items in "pending" count towards the monthly spend?

    • +1

Doubt it would until it clears.

    • +1

      no it won't

      • Cheers

  • Do you think RACQ insurance would be included in the minimum spend? Just curious if there is any reason it would be classed as semi-gov?

    • Isn't RACQ belong (part or whole) to government or public listed company?

      • Fyi, I confirmed with the operator that it counts.

Is this now annual fee free for the first year?

For some reason there are 2 'Card Details' sections and the second one says "$0 annual fee for first year".

Footnote 39 at the bottom of the page also says:

"Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card no annual fee waiver offer is available to new customers that apply by 31 July 2023. The annual card fee is $0 for the first year, then $129 will be charged on the anniversary of your card account being opened…"

Edit: Ah that might just be if you take the Balance Transfer offer, not the points?

  • So how do we know what our statement cycle date is?

    • It shows you in the portal
It says something like last bill date 5/7/23,that means next statement is 5/8

  • Applied on Friday
Approved on Friday (within an hour)
    Card arrived today, Wednesday
    Pretty impressive!
Had to call them twice (to change mailing address and to reset app access code) and no issues with customer service/wait time

    • Similar approval experience for me :)

  • Applied last week and I can confirm fast approval (~10mins). I don't have the card though until now, on my 8th day since being approved.

  • Can anyone confirm if vicroad rego payment will count towards the spend?

    • +2

likely won't as per the terms.
you could fight them , or, use another method like ZipPay to avoid any hassle.

      • ZipPay doesn't work for rego.Just tried it.

        • can rego be paid via bpay?
did you try that also? if zip doesn't work, there's sniip I guess.

          • @bohn: Used to be you can do it through Zippay and only pay $2.50 for fees.

            • @nightelves: Yeah I paid a bpay not long ago, but not rego.

  • Bummer, got declined.

Have been going a bit crazy with credit cards lately tbf.

    • How many cards? Maybe now you're blacklisted for a couple years :/

Getting rejected is even a bigger hit to your credit.

      • 2 both with large credit limits and a recent mortgage

It's happened before and I've been back in the game in no time so shouldn't be an issue if I wait a couple months

Received the card few days ago. Looking through my utilities (all at least $1K in credit for each), health insurance (paid till end of year), WoW/Amazon gc (have about $300+ remaining each), I'm a bit struggling to find ways to spend $1500/month effectively.

    • From my previous comment here
(which for some reason got downvoted to oblivion) Book fully refundable accommodation or flights then simply 'change your mind' later on. Counts as eligible spend and works perfectly for getting the bonus points.

  • Can anyone advise how many previous payslips they request?

    • They ask for 2 payslips less than 60 days old or employment contract

  • Aren't VFF worthless these days? I thought finding flights on QFF was hard, but everyone says VFF is worse.

    • Have actually found it way easier. And you could convert to KrisFlyer in a pinch.

  • Ineligible for travel voucher as received from another card earlier this year. Will i still get the lounge passes?

  • Seem to have expired?

  • How long does it take to get points for the previous month? And does it go by month or whenever you get your statement that month?

  • Does my new "month" start now that my first months points are showing in the rewards history?

  • Has anyone argued the annual fee? There are a couple of mentions of it being $0 the first year - I know this is under the Balance transfer heading though condition 39 has no mention of balance transfers:

    1. Virgin Australia Velocity Flyer Card no annual fee waiver offer is available to new customers that apply by 31 July 2023. The annual card fee is $0 for the first year, then $129 will be charged on the anniversary of your card account being opened with Virgin Money.

I love holding people to contracts etc. and have had issues like this with everyday rewards points offers etc. I make sure I get what I should

But to me it was very cut and dry, I personally won’t bother trying to argue it because I doubt you’d get anywhere and it was clear when signing up that was a different offer, those terms were a lot further down the page under a different offer

Good luck reaching $1500 in first month unless you're already planning a big purchase given it took them 12 days to send my card. Not fair at all.

    • +1

You don’t buy groceries? Just get Woolies or Cole’s gift cards? Takes ten minutes to do the spend.

    • you can also use things like zippay/afterpay to pay off with the new card when it comes.

    • Pay into utilities (energy, water, gas) or private health insurance.

Had my account disappear from the iOS app Monday evening.

"Hmm… We can't see any active accounts"

If anyone else runs into the same issue, you need to add it back and it's not super obvious. You need to click the create an account option, select credit card and there is then an option to add an existing card.

  • Just got my first statement. Just wondering when will the 25k pts be credited? Would like to confirm if all spend made were eligible before starting the second month. Thanks.

    • +1

you'll see it mention the points on the statement so you will know if you met the requirements.

Bonus Points Earned this statement period

They are usually credited same day or next.

      • Thanks!

        • I don't see any line saying

Bonus Points Earned this statement period

          Do you see it?

          • @Pikaloo: The points came up in my Velocity account.

            • @P Plater Panda: Thanks, how long after the statement was issued did you receive it. It's been 4 days since my estatement was issued and no points yet.

              • @Pikaloo: It appeared on the day of statement. In fact I haven't checked my statement since I saw it in the Velocity account.

          • @Pikaloo: underneath 'Points Earned this statement period'

  • Hrm, I have a VM go/transaction account but, unlike a normal bank setup, i can't pay directly into the VM credit card even through i see both of them in my app. Must pay via Bpay like from an external account.
