maybe it was a deliberate attempt.

i wouldve said no thanks, either give me half of it or i walk.

    • .

    • Should of refused to pay, you don't need to pay because they can't read.

  • -4

Can onli claim at lunch time?Or anytime?cause mention "Free Lunch"

  • +1

nice deal OP. Thanks for the free lunch Subway. :D

  • +7

I remember back in the day when you'd collected enough subway stamps you got a free subway :(

    • …and do you remember the reason why the stamps was cancelled? It was because it was easily manipulated, meaning it was easy for people to produce the stamps and get free Subway, even though you had to purchase a drink. Which is odd, as it was a deal that was widely known, and would not have been too easy to produce stamps, while this "newer" Subway club has offers that are printed with a printer or sent to SMS and Subway staff are often unaware of these deals.

      • +2

I was once accused of stealing the stamps by my local Subway franchisee although I had collected them completely legitimately. Made an official complaint but nothing happened.

        • there is nothing you can do about it. there are people who get accused of stamping their own starbucks card too. which wasnt hard when all you needed was a stamp in a coffee bean shape

  • Can claim for dinner guys?

    • +4

Got one @10pm no problem :)

Took my hubby out for free lunch today. registered him last night and I was already a member. They upgraded one to a footlong for $3. I just told them that's what the Internet said and they didn't have a problem.

  • Just finished mine, hope I find it earlier, so I dont need to go KFC this noon,

  • The guy at the store gave a foot long sub instead of a six inch! More for my tummy(:

  • yay! great timing. Now to wean myself off HJ fever

  • +7

Has anyone else been having subway everyday? ;) hehe

  • +1

Just tried at subway Nambour. They aren't a participating store.

  • +1

nice one, works on King st Melbourne

  • Thanks for this, just grabbed one of these at 5.30pm so the lunch thing doesn't seem to be an issue, only grabbed a regular 6 inch as I hadn't read the last couple of pages here.. Didn't get ID checked either.

  • +1

awesome deal OP, the subway reps even wished us a happy birthday (lol, they must have thought it was to do with the birthday club)

  • +1

Hey has anyone had success with the smartphone "show this page" option rather than printing the voucher? Cheers

    • +3

yes, I did. show the guy the phone, he had a quick look and asked what I want. no problems at all. this was at Vermont South VIC.

    • +1

Showed my phone with no issue. Guy stared at it for so long I thought the screen would lock itself, but all good.

    • Nope. I went into a local Subway and they said they'd only accept a printed version.

Well why did the website say I could bring in my smartphone? That really pissed me off.

  • My Offers

You do not currently have any offers available. Please check back again soon.

    :(

  • +5

If you sign up with the alternate link (http://www.subway.com.au/eatfreshclub/register.asp) and get the voucher straight after sign up that says at the bottom "at participating stores only" and you have trouble redeeming, logout, and then go back to the main subway homepage then login with the form on there. When you are logged in, it will let you produce another voucher (again valid only for 12 hours) that will have the actual store name down the bottom of the voucher.
I hope that made sense. It is harder for them to reject if it has their store's name down the bottom.

    • Was able to get one using this a few minutes ago. Thanks!

      Very happy to honor it.

    • Cheers Mate, Thanks for writing that out for me.

It looks like the site was lagging, when I logged in today, it was there as it should have been.

      Thanks again :)

  • thanks

so i got my subway but it was definitely made without love!! lol and the guy's expression was priceless/of disbelief.
… i don't see the point in these companies having promotions if no one knows what's going on. The staff are usually bewildered, reluctant, unwilling and aggressive towards customers claiming a promotion/freebie. Really what's the point, just defeats the purpose. My person put it through but was completely unfriendly and made me feel like i was doing something wrong: people really don't like to hand over stuff for free. I definitely think the problem lies with Subway corporate - no one has a clue.

    • +4

thats why you wait til the end to show them

    • +2

I had a similar experience. I showed the girl my smartphone which had my coupon. At first she said i needed a printout but later accepted it. She was extremely rude the whole time while making the sub. I felt like i had done something wrong!

    • i don't understand that bad attitude either. it's not as if the cost of the sub+drink is coming out of their pay..?

      • When I used my voucher the girl took a quick look, said ok, then gave the voucher back to me. I said I didn't want it then she took it back and just kept looking it for ages. I don't know why. Probably thinking that she as staff gets half price food, but people off the street get free food.

  • Awesome, thanks OP. Just registered, activated and printed my voucher. Took about three minutes. YUM!

  • Not bad free for a sub… though not so filling even though I paid $1 extra for a cookie.. Maybe one of Mia Pizzas might fill me up abit more ^^.

Hopefully they wont ask to see proof when my non-official birthday occurs as my originally non-official birthday was no good..

The service was nice. No frowns or rude looks. other than they took my print-out early-on and they had to ask each customer before me handed in that voucher.

I just claimed this at my chosen store (Midland, WA) and hard the hardest time doing it. First I was told just flat out that I couldn't use it. Then I was accused of using a 'scam'. I showed the woman behind the counter the voucher on my phone (which is from www.subway.com.au) and still she tried to deny it. She ended up ringing the franchise owner and explained to him the situation. He said no, because it was a scam, again even after explaining to him that it was from subways website. In the end I got my free lunch but only because it was already made. I tried to explain over and over that it is an offer on Subways website and that I was able to choose that store.

I will be writing an email to Subway to let them know what happened so that other people don't run into this. I would understand if the franchise was not included in this deal, but it clearly let me select it as the store to redeem the voucher from. Luckily I'm not one to get upset at people doing their job, but it kind of felt like they were trying and embarrass me infront of other customers. The woman made the phone call infront of everyone in the store and in a very loud voice. I felt like turning round to everyone in the store and showing them the oz bargain way.

Now to sit down and enjoy my free meal. That store is going to get a shock when I turn up next week with my birthday voucher Hahaha.

    • LOL, Legendary man! I can just imagine what it would be like. Go in with your birthday voucher while the same staff are working!

  • Used my voucher on Saturday, Handed over my phone and simply said I was in the Subway Eat Fresh Club while maintaining an important look on my face. The woman behind the counter took a 5 second look at my phone and said righto I'll do it Haha. But yes Subway management did not explain this promotion to any franchise, Its absolutely bonkers when no one knows whats going on. Had a similar problem happen with a SOLO promotion a few months ago when they didn't tell any store of their promotion.

My local Subway refused to do it.

Anyway considering how much it would of cost to get the equivelant of what I normally order you save maybe $2. They also refuse to upgrade to footlong and make you pay six inch sub price etc.

It reminded me of the Birthday voucher. I ended up saving $2 compared to what I normally pay. Barely worth the hassle - the server was putting up a fight about it and whinging profusely.

    • +5

      (a) this is free, you cannot get a 6 inch sub and drink for $2.

      (b) The 6 inch sub and drink are free, anything beyond that is for you to pay. That is completely fair enough. If you want a footlong then you pay the difference, which is the price of a six inch.

      • +6

        D'OH!!!!

A six inch sub, and a 600ml coke or Powerade etc FREE!!! and someone complains????

        • +5

          Unbelievable isn't it?

    • The burwood subway has a lunch time deal

      6inch sub + drink in a cup for $5.

So at it would not cost them more than $5

  • So good, got free lunch. Spent $5.50 saved on a killer RocketFuel Coffee.

The Ozbargin Life puts on shades.

  • lets hope this works!

  • +2

Got mine today at th Subway on George Street near Central Station. No problems at all. The deal seems to be associated with Subway's partnership with the athletics federation, and they had a big cardboard cutout of an athlete saying to login to your Eat Fresh Club account and download your voucher for a free lunch! Looks like the deal will be better known about now the signage is up.

Thanks OP! Probably been said already, but great first post! :)

    • Signage also up at North Sydney MLC store. No issues with claim.
Seems to be a promotion to join the Eat Fresh club that has also been extended to existing members.

    • Did u need to show your ID?

      • No.

  • +1

got mine in Hervey Bay QLD today, the girl needed to get the manager who had a look at my phone and said yep no probs. Felt like robbery though walking out with a sub and a powerade!!

    • +1

i claimed one today and as i was leaving the store, a cop walks in and held the door while i scuttled out hehehehe B-)

  • Thank you, just got dinner for tonight :)

  • -4

has anyone used this multiple times?

    • +1

with the same code? not with a printout which they keep, and even if you show the code on the smartphone it still has the 12 hr expiry date, which is kind of kooky, i mean if you print it out at 3pm you can only use it upto closing time that day because the shop is closed at 3am next day, it should have been valid 24hr that way you can claim 3pm to 3pm next day

    • +3
    • +1

i've claimed it at two different stores, with two different print-outs.

just set up a new account each time. they even let you use the same mobile number for validation. play fair :)

      • Do they have a fair play policy?

  • I dont understand why SUBWAY do not inform about such deals/promotions to their employee. It will help customers.

Just thought to add it to their feedback:
    http://www.subway.com/Applications/CustService/frmCustomerSe…

  • anyone tried using it @ Carlingford or Epping Subway? Any issues?

      • cool, will goto Epping store.

        • +1

Does the Epping store have an eftpos machine yet, I went there about a year ago and didn't realise until the end they had no machine, they tried telling me to go to the ATM across the road then come back - I walked out, I hope they enjoyed my lunch.

  • nice

  • Chicken schnitzel and Powerade claimed at level 5 Parramatta Westfield.
Showed deal on phone, no dramas at all.

  • Cant get it, "The data has been changed or deleted by another user."

  • Got one last night around 6pm at Pascoe Vale Branch near Broadmeadows Station! The guy told me to choose whatever sub I want and because they don't have a Powerade on the fridge so the guy gave me a cup for a bottomless softdrinks! Woohoo!!!

  • does this include all subs like premium subs too? and extra sides?

    • voucher says standard subs only, but some lucky people are getting premium

      • i got the snitzhel chicken sub

  • has anyone used this voucher at Chatswood?

  • does this cover Veggie Patty?

  • I used it for Veggie Patty without any problems.

  • An epic post along with Hungry Jack free whopper!
I hope Subway will keep on doing this more often.
Don't lose to Hungry Jack! Go Subway!!

  • I didn't get why they would generously offer a bottle, let alone the larger 600 mL size, in the first place (unless the bottles were subsidised by the Coca-Cola company specifically for this deal). Are there any Subway stores without the much more economical drink machines?

  • -6

Well looks like the offer is completely gone now. Only available on your birthday now ; )

    • -1

      It's still available, I just checked :)
      "Available until 07/10/2012"
I have yet to activate it!

      • -4

Only to people who have already registered and have the coupon in the account. If you look at the main page it now reads "Free lunch on your birthday". Not every day. When signing up now there are no coupon offers.

        • -1

          Just tried and still works.

        • It works now but was removed when I posted the message. I know, because I tried it with a few emails. It's now been reduced to 4 hours.

  • Great deal. Redeemed yesterday for a healthy lunch!

      • Yep, I'm kind of going paleo because of that (apart from moments of weakness). But I'd say it's still healthier compared to meals that are heavy on processed oils/meat/ingredients etc. The only other "healthy" option at your typical food court would be Sumo Salad (expensive for what it is) or a Vietnamese rice paper roll or something.

  • Confirmed as still working as at 10am 5/9/12. I took a screenshot for non believers - http://imageshack.us/f/23/subwayd.jpg/

    Thank you OP.

  • mailinator address does not work…

<3 Caboolture Subway. Got 2 free subs and drinks in 1 order, Upgraded to footlongs and she said don't worry about the upgrade charge. Love you kind lady.

    • -3

I got 6 vouchers, just send them to your phone and you can keep going back over the course of the month. I put one on my phone today, went to one store and they upgraded to a footlong for free again, went to another store 2 minutes away and got another one for my sister. Had to pay for the 2nd upgrade D=

This Subway store ALWAYS accepts Vouchers:

    Shop F15,
    Top level food-court,
    "Hunter Connection"
    310 George Street

    WYNYARD

    Sydney CBD

    One of the entrances:

    http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=7-13+hunter+street+sydney&h…

It's a very busy store in Sydney CBD, surrounded in the Food Court by a lot of Asian eateries.

In fact, the woman at the checkout told me to let you guys know to bring other rejected Subway vouchers to her first, as this store accepts all Vouchers. But, she said to make it easier for her staff, to order your food first (don't mention "vouchers" at all), and THEN show the Voucher to the cashier, as they are very busy and I would slow down their staff otherwise.

So, always order your food at this store first before anything and THEN simply give your Voucher to the cashier at the end.

It's so good to find a Franchise that always happily accepts Vouchers with no problems!

    • Great tip.

      • That sounds so "Soup Nazi"

    • I got mine fine at this store. Lol i made it hard for her when i handed in my voucher early the other week ^^.
Also my friend had no problems claiming a free sub at the one in the Cinemas at George Street CBD near townhall. Though the service wasn't as friendly.

  • +9

Most of the stores that say they have never heard of it, actually have the promotional material in their store advertising it.

    Morons.

  • Boo now its only valid for 4 hours after activation…

    • I wonder what they aim to achieve with this?

Haven't used my voucher yet, but the time on it has changed.

  • its been extended! but 4 hrs activation only ): oh well! still! extended!! yay!

    • Extended now. Was offline before, not showing any vouchers at all, as I posted above. But of course people negged it without actually checking…sigh.

      Back online again now.
