SwiftKey3 = best soft keyboard available
      Agree

      • Double agree. I can't stand using any other soft keyboards now.

        • I'm on the stock JB keyboard. can anyone tell me if the swiftkey is better and how so?

        • -3

JB keyboard pretty damn good. SK3 not really better

        • +3

you're just saying that because you're asstight :P

        • +4

You guys obviously have't used swype…

        • +2

There's a beta which is for free. No difference in beta and paid version I found… I used stock jb fwiw

        • Very true. Swype will kill any of the keyboards out there. Especially a stable implementation like the Sony stock swype layout.

swift key dictionary don't popup in certain websites with certain browsers…. stopped using… stick with stock.

    • I find it works pretty flawlessly on Opera Mobile, I agree about other browsers though, no other ones I tried were anywhere close.

      • yeah it doesnt pop up in the address bar of chrome, a bit annoying but meh.

        • +1

Isn't this by design? you don't want it automatically changing ozbargain.com.au to oz bargain.com.au.

        • Yeah except that the address bar is also the search box. So you DO want searches to auto correct, but not URLs.

Not bad, but my expectation is 0.10c apps after the last big sale they had.

Hmm, bought swiftkey for my nexus 7, however it says there is a tablet version? Should i get a refund for the normal one?

    • I am using SwiftKey 3 now after installing on my Asus infinity; works fine.

    • The Tablet version is essentially the same, it just allows split keyboards and a few extra tweaks. Since the Nexus 7 is a 'phablet' form factor (ie. portrait orientation), you shouldn't need split keyboard.

  • Thanks Sonic, upgraded Business Calender to full version after seeing this.

  • Just trying out the SwiftKey trial version now, seems great! I'll have to upgrade now :)

  • Nice find there.

OT, but I don't suppose anybody has sourced a bargain for hardware KB to use their Android phone/tablet machine. Meritline ships a neat looking wireless logitech for ~19 but only from their "US warehouse", so not available to here.

$20 budget physical one would be great option useful for saving precious screen 'estate. Spotted this eBay shipped from China (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380459713193?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…) but will try my wireless Google Revue logitech keyboard first, to see if picked up by Android 4.0 system

  • I know it's not one of the 0.99c apps, but damnnnnnnnnn, $9.73 for Entity Sensor Pro? People pay money for that?

    • yeah thats ridiculous!

    • Yeah would rather spend halve the money on Tasker for infinitely more uses.

    • +1

…and i reckon half the comments praising it are just repeated spam.
shiz like, "I don't care if it works or not the fact is someone spent a lot of time and effort to make a really awesome app!"

… a lot of time and effort in creating crap to sell for $10-$17

  • +4

I really like Swype. It's only in beta at the moment but I've been using it for the last few months and it's awesome. Go to their website to register for beta. I decided on it over Swift and I've not regretted it.

    • how does it compare against stock jelly bean keyboard?

  • -2

    Give us SwiftKey tablet version!

    • -1

It's not like it's expensive even at full price, to be fair to it…

  • -1

Should be called the "Start of Spring" sale… not end of summer :)

    • Google = American.

  • Beyondpod Unlock Key is also at $1.93 for this weekend if you're looking for a Podcast manager. You can download the free trial version to see if you like it :).

  • For those who don't have HTC Sense, and I recommend Beautiful widgets for a decent clock & weather widget. Plenty of free skins available too.

  • I'm downloading Virtua Tennis now, it says 80% off. Bargain.

Anyone recommend any other good games, or apps, in this sale?

Just got my first Android device last week (ainol novo7 Elf2 7" ICS tablet).

Shame the tablet version of SwiftKey is not on sale. At least i will try the free version and see what all the fuss is about.

  • Downloaded virtua tennis as well, good game. Well worth a quid. Unfortunately you don't get the breadth of different modes that you had in the Dreamcast version.

If you're not using a xperia play with the physical dpad and buttons, I recommend changing the controls to arcade in the settings, because the swype controls are a right bugger to use reliably.

  • I downloaded SwiftKey for Tablet (trial), but I don't like it. When I'm typing rapidly I don't like to look up at the bar of word recommendations, and then select the correct word, it slows down my rythym. Plus, there's no apostrophe on the main keyboard, u have to enter a sub keyboard. Sometimes if u type the word without bothering with the apostrophe, it will add it for u, but not always.

Another thing, it's got stats on your typing, stating how many corrections and how many keystrokes it's saved you, but the keystrokes data is bogus. If I type a sentence and press every single letter key to make up that sentence, then it has not saved me any keystrokes. However the saved keystrokes tally still increases!

  • I just bought iBlast Moki 2. Haven't played it yet, but the reviews for it were really good, so I thought it worth risking 99c.
