Yep, don't know why you would want somebodies return for more. Sony ignored my request completely for a refund when my refurbs arrived broken… Case was also stained. Never again Sony. Had to start PayPal dispute.

Bought my refurbished pair of XM4 last year, like new - no ear wax :)
To be fair, I saw only 4 XM5s when I first noticed the active refurb code. Between the time I started typing my XM4 deal to the time I posted, all XM5s were sold ;-)

I've had my XM4s for a while now and I think they're awesome, do these have flaws that Sony fix then resell or do they just clean them up and resell??

Refurbished is another way for a company to clear unwanted inventory.When I purchased my refurb', it arrived faulty… I guess they were returned and not inspected well enough. The case also had a big grease mark inside it like a sausage roll had been sitting on it.

What does 'Seconds' actually mean, in the case of these xm4/5?
Means for whatever reason they can't be sold as new, could be returns, refurbs or just damaged box. Luck of the draw.
My XM4’s have been a bit disappointing with the earwax issue. Now on flights they will start squealing as soon as the plane starts the decent, must be due to the change in air pressure. I have thoroughly cleaned them but still have issues. Mind you I did wear them every day for multiple hours a day for several years.

We've had them as new for cheaper. Perfectly acceptable price, but nothing revolutionary.
