Why is this happening?
In recent months, you may have heard about the review and variation to NBN’s Special Access Undertaking (SAU).The SAU sets the industry standard for wholesale pricing, including their own structure for NBN plans until 2040.

If you’d like to know more about the SAU you can read our latest blog post.

    • In the same boat as you. Got the email that my 25/10 connection price is going up again (which I know isn't an ABB exclusive thing, but still sucks to be paying so much for such a slow connection).

Who's to say the Superloop prices won't go up just as much, if not more as well though?

    • Superloop customer here I called their retention team and was offered the new plan pricing no questions asked. If they go any lower I will call them again. As for price increase I haven't experienced any in the nearly 3 year service with them.

Happy to stay with Superloop. Had Aussie broadband before moving. Once the CVC issue is gone I think Aussie Broadband has no advantage apart of their call team and maybe overseas connection

I’m an happy Exetel customer. 50/20 @$65 (I had to ask for discount). I had 100/20 before and I think it was an overkill. Very happy with them (had to leave mate since their service has gone downhill).

    • same here, exetel 50/20 for 55.something, on 6 month promo, WFH, video calls, streaming, no gaming though, pretty happy (was with telstra years ago on the same speed tier and paid 90, never again)

      • Excellent! I also got fixed ip address as it’s included for free. I haven’t had any problems with them, hopefully they can keep offering this plan at $65.

  • Very happy, my 1000/50 plan is dropping from 149 to 129
Was with Telstra in the past, terrible service when we had breaks in the street cables, and faults in the street pits, ABB was a lot better in pushing to get NBN to fix things..

How could these be called deals??? Randomly pick an ISP and you might get a better deal.

  • Bloody hell… Can't even get more than 50mb in my area and they are increasing the prices… So sick of this NBN shitshow. Any way this is not a deal, it will be their standard pricing zzz…

What’s the bargain? Their prices are more expensive than competitors like Exetel

  • My ABB plan is increasing - will need to find a different provider

  • Moved to leaptel today. C ya Aussie BB. Too $$$$

  • Anyone swapped from ABB to someone else on HFC recently? Did you have downtime?

    • HFC switching from Abb to leaptel. I switched yesterday and booked today as the transfer date. It happened just after midnight. I was a sleeping. I think from the email there was less than 30 minutes downtime, but I was asleep!

      • Nice, thanks. It's good to hear it could be a relatively painless experience, only reason I haven't switched already tbh.

ABB has lost track seriously. They are no longer fit in value NBN anymore.

  • Tangerine, superloop, more internet or someone else? Sydney HFC here. Moving from ABB as my 50/20 is going up to $85. Thanks in advance.

Leaptel - https://leaptel.com.au/nbn-fibre-upgrade/ great deals if you qualify for a (free) FTTP upgrade.

Note they have yet to update (lower) prices on 100+ plans so these prices should come down further soon + they should add a 1G plan, too

      • No upgrades in my are, only hfc apparently can go highest speed they offer regarding plans. So who'd be best regarding balancing speed and price? I wouldn't need higher speed then 50 to 100.

      • Their (Leaptels) 25/10 first 6 month @ $44.95 is cheap indeed. Even cheaper than MORE's 12month CBA discounted member plan.

  • Make sure you check your bank account to ensure they refund you for the pro rata credit when you cancel their service. They have a dodgy tactics to steal your pro rata credit if you don't follow up. A lot of people forget to check and they make a profit from this.

Last time I cancelled the service, they promised they would refund me unused pro rata money back but never happened. I called them up many times and every time they kept telling me they didn't have my account any more and asked me to set-up account again and the process was so time consuming. I never received and refund after many months of repeating the same process. I ended up logging a complaints with TIO and finally got my money back.

  • Who pays these prices? Do yourself a favour and check out the pricing and inclusions from other NBN providers like Exetel

Wow. Superloop's CFO has just abruptly resigned (according to The Australian). What's going on?

  • Does anyone know if the Vocus network is any good? Dodo's prices are pretty good, so I'm considering them.

    • I am joining Dodo tomorrow. So far I am happy with all the updates sms and email from them, but lets find out how their speed and performance tomorrow

unfortunately there is room to move and ABB is still ripping people off with their pricing.

This is how much it costs them after SAU. Sure there is infrastructure costs but they lining the pockets of investors.
    100/20 Mbps - $58.00
    100/40 Mbps - $58.00
    250/25 Mbps - $60.00
    250/100 Mbps - $100.00
    500/50 Mbps - $70.00
    1000/50 Mbps - $70.00

    • That's just their fee for nbn, they have their own network and staff expenses as well.

      • I find the rhetoric of RSP that our support is in Australia, but honestly how many people actually need to phone their RSP. There are plenty BPO's that have really good staff for cheap, I guess im technical and they have to cover the people that arnt.

        • I don't know what their costs are, I was just pointing out that those are only the nbn portion, they have their own network costs as well, staff, energy, taxes, etc and I guess they need to make a bit of profit as well.

    • agree on pricing, its peoples choice and they have to vote with their wallet.

if its too expensive, just move to another provider like i did.

    • but they lining the pockets of investors.

Are you surprised they're trying to make money ?

That's the whole point of a business.

      • RSP's don't make money of residential

        • So they're not lining the pockets of investors then ?
          I don't understand 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • I just switched to the 200/25. It kept saying I've got a pending chance but it's acknowledged the promo code. No confirmation of change though? Chose to upgrade at next billing cycle rather than straight away
