    • you should be able to use these to buy "playstation store credit" from JBhifi, or ebgames.

Then use your PS store credit to buy the sub.

      • That might work. But the description here says these cards are valid for the PlayStation store

  • Haven't got the bonus points for uber gift card yet. Hopefully shows up tomorrow.

    • Points should show up within 7 days, told by a staff.

  • I talked to a store manager this morning, and he told me that I can only buy 10 gift cards but not sure if it's per transaction or per day.

    • So technically I can max out the Apple gift card promo at $500 x 10 gift cards @ 10k points since it has no points cap mentioned?

      • No clue about that sorry.

  • Wasted a lot of time driving to BigW Belmont, only for the bonus credit to not work.

Like dwhes, store manager has no idea. These were fixed value cards, not variable.

Have to neg to warn others. I needed this today and had waited for this promotion.

Sorry OP, not your fault. Would have been a great post if the promotion worked.

  • +3

when you drive to Big W and buy $700 in cards for Christmas, but then choose the variable card that the title specifically says is excluded…..
time to hand in my ozb badge!

    • -2

Chances are it wouldn't have worked for fixed ones either, but then at least you could have blamed someone else…

  • Went to another big w today and it worked fine with the fixed value cards.

  • I exchanged 2 gift cards with JB Hi-FI e-Gift Card in the morning and still waiting for the e-gift card to arrive.

Exchanged 3 yesterday and all was instant.

  • Just bought 6, $100 fixed cards at cumberland park and it worked.

    • -2

Were you charged a $6.95 fee? I just went to purchase 10 cards and each one had this fee!

  • +1

Thanks op. Was able to get the ultimate everyone from my local bigw store. They also specifically asked if I am an everyday rewards member - they said its needed for this promo. I did get an additional 5x points for this bigw purchase and was able to use the cards at my local officeworks without a hitch

  • Bought 2 x $50 Uber cards but rewards haven’t shown up.

    • +1

Me either, bought on Wed 15. Will give it 7 days and then chase I think.

  • Can someone please confirm what Ultimate denominations are sold at BigW? I understand they have max $100 ones, but what about smaller ones such as $30 and $50?

  • +1

anyone tried apple gc in bigw ? Does not showing any bonus point for me

    Thanks

    • As above for two people, points not being credited so far for Uber gift cards bought at Big W.

  • Can I use these to pay jbhifi online payment?

  • Word of warning, keep an eye out when you go to use them. JB Hi-Fi today, I told them twice at the checkout there was $110 on my gift cards but they charged $100 and threw them in the trash. I had to insist they give them back. Now I have two gift cards with $10 each on them I can’t exchange for anything, rather than one with $20 I could exchange for JB. Ugh.

    • +1

If they are Ultimate Everyone, you can upload it to Subway app, minimum $10 as credit.

    • +1

mine happened too, its mistake on my part, the card has $110 in value, but i mentioned $100, so they just charged $100 to the card, you have to tell them its $110. I managed to use the $10 value instantly anyway once realised it.

    • But something for $20 and then return it and get a jb voucher as replacement

  • I think this offer has expired. Went to Big W in Victor Harbour and didn’t get any discounts.

    • It is a bonus 10% on the gift card value, for example, you buy a $50 gift card and get $55 for that gift card.

      • Should there be any indication on the till of the 10%?

We purchased a multiple gift cards, so how would we know where the discount is applied?

        • yeah, there is no indication on the till, but check the card balance, it should show up, at least mine shows up.

  • Got a $100 ultimate gift card today and can confirm the offer still works. You will be paying for the value of the gift card only and the machine/screen won’t show anything about the extra value.

But if you then check the balance of the card on ultimate gift card website, you should see the extra value included in the card. E.g. my card was showing a balance of $110 on the website after I got it.

  • +1

Had no trouble with this today, Bought Gift cards in fixed 100$ denominations, and recieved them as 110$ values.
Proceeded to convert the 110$ ultimate gift card, into lots of 1x50$ and 3x20$, and redeemed what i swear would be a new record for the amount of Ikea gift card redemtions in one transaction. I'm not sure the amount of time i spent doing this was worth it to be honest….

    • The OzBargain record for redeeming IKEA gift cards in one online transaction is currently 45. Did you beat that?

  • +1

Usually, how long should I wait for bonus points to appear in my account?
    Thanks in advance;)

    • EDR points normally is instant after transaction.

      • hmmm, it’s been 20hrs, I still don’t see this bonus points… should I contact them?

        • +2

i just contact EDR, they asked me to wait 14 business days.

    • Mine is not showing up.
I checked my EDR, it said zero base point and zero bonus point. The store manager doesn’t know what happen.

    • +1

Mine is also showing 0 at the moment. Will follow up with them if it does not show up after 7 days as it does say it can take up to 7 days for it to show.

    • +1

I also haven’t received any points yet after purchasing a $100 Apple Gift Card. Usually for these kinds of offers the points appear instantly for me, so I contacted customer service and they said everything looks correct with the transaction but that it can take up to 7 days. They then said would check it on the 29th to see if it had worked and would escalate it if it hadn’t. So… I’ll wait and see!

      • Hoping it reflects! Waiting for mine also as I bought today. It’s strange because usually it’ll show instantly (for Ultimate GC anyways). First time buying Apple GC from Big W.

      • Just FYI - mine got added yesterday afternoon, which was pretty much exactly 7 business days since I made the purchase. EDR got converted to QFF and is reflecting in my Qantas acc.

  • +5

I bought 100$ and 30$ cards just an hour ago.

Apart from the crappy giftcard buying process/experience.
    Everything worked.

Everything in BigW system will show the standard value.

ONLY way to check is ultimategiftcards.com
(I checked almost straight away, but it did take ages to finish check out)

    *The story
The BigW I went to, only had self checkout.
    I was getting 8 cards.
Every card I scanned the assistant had to intervene.
Giving me the spill about people doing dodgy things with giftcards, being an elder lady, I played along with a smile on my face.
    Then again when paying.

Only to have 1 card fail.
    Had to goto service desk.
Exchange a different card (same value).
Probably lost everyday rewards points in the process, at this point, I didn't care anymore.

    Actual purchase at JBhifi.
    Fairly straight forward.
    It wasn't too busy.
    I pre-scratched all the PINs.
Reminded cashier the cards are actual 10% more then face value.
(Did all the maths before, letting them know, I'm using the gift card, then $3 extra cash/eftpos.)

  • Can you use these on good guys online?

    • +2

If you have a look at the Gift Card Wiki linked at the bottom of the OP’s description:

      • It lists a FAQ for the regular The Good Guys website.

      • It lists a separate FAQ for the The Good Guys Commercial website.

  • apologies for my ignorance, I want to buy Applecare+ plan and can I use these cards to get the discount? I have to visit apple store to get the care plan and can use apple pay or wallet for the payment.

  • +1

Anyone who bought apple gift card actually got the bonus points credit to their EDR account without calling customer service? If yes, how long before it was credited?

    Thanks.

    • +2

Bought the Apple gift card today also. No points reflecting yet on rewards app. The catalogue does say 7 days for it to reflect. Hoping it does… Do let me know if you eventually got yours. Thanks!

      • just FYI, I bought it from 18, it is 25 now so 7 days but still 0 point. May have to call them next week.

  • last year this promotion was able to be stacked with the everyday reward exrta 10% to bring lower.

  • When does this offer ends?

    • +1

      At the end of today.

      • Thanks, does Officeworks allow you to do split payment in store? Thinking of getting a computer at $1500

        • +1

The instore checkouts will let you do split payments between multiple Ultimate gift cards.

Whether a staff member will be happy to do that is another question entirely! In my experience, split payment request should be fine, although I did have one instance where the staff member said “no” emphatically and refused to explain why.

        • +1

I purchased an item at OW with 7 splits payments. No issue.

  • I asked the staff this morning and she told me it’s expired yesterday @WookieMonster

    • Show them their catalogue

  • Melbourne CBD BigW now charging $6.95 to activate each card ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    • how is that possible ??????????????

      • They didn't have many cards left, I grabbed a $100 Gaming and Bites card intending to check the balance to ensure the promotion was still active.

I got all the way to payment with the help of a staff member, I thought the activation fee would get waived, but the machine asked me for $106.95

Went back and tried two cards, total came to $214, scanning my rewards card did not change the cost.

        • +1

I was in Big W today to nab this deal. The activation fee is specific to the 'Gaming and Bites' GC only; staff member told me. Even he said it was very shady; all others should be okay.

I didn't pull this trigger on this one. So there's an 'old style' design GC (pictured in promo) and ULTIMATE is rolling out a new design; already in-store. Same staff member told me he wasn't sure if the new style included the bonus. Staff tried asking ULTIMATE but they didn't give a hard yes or no. You could only tell if you got the extra 10% value after checking the card balance. I didn't want to be stuck with full-face value cards. Also went in right before 7pm, so I couldn't buy one to check. Oh well….

  • +1

I bought 2 x uber gift cards from bigw last Saturday after scanned edr card, it didn't give me the bonus points.

Sadly, I had to make call and waited for a freaking 35 minutes to get thru, explained the situation and got 2k EDR points.

  • +5

Anyone got their 20x points for apple gift cards yet? I am still waiting for mine. :(

    • +1

      still waiting

    • They usually give 0 points for gift cards, so 20x0 is still zero 🙂
Talking seriously, I think T&Cs stated it could take "up to 7 business days".

    • still waiting

      • still waiting since 18. 25 now.

        • Same here.

          • @Shoonya: Same, purchased on 18 as well. Was told I have qualified for it and should be in my account by 27. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow.

            • @j1568: I purchased on the 22nd and was told 7 days as well, so I’ll be interested to see if you both get yours on time!

(I’ve never had to wait this long for EDR points to show up after a gift card purchase at Big W/Woolies)

            • @j1568: @Shoonya Please keep us updated. I bought on the 20th and no points yet

              • @B612: Last person I spoke to told me it should be in my account on 27 Nov, but its not really 7 working days yet. I tried today but they need to wait until end of today which is officially end of the 7 working days. Probably best you wait till 30 Nov.

I got a feeling most people will need to chase up for it if they want it earlier. Eventually you would think they will realised there is a glitch in their system and fix it up.

I will stick to Woolies (even though its with EDR) and Coles next time as never had issues with getting the points within the next few days.

        • +2

Further update.. bought on 18th Sat, today 28th, 7th business day. Need to wait for atleast another day before contacting support.

Response from customer support via chat today
“We are currently experiencing issues with this promotion and we have the IT department looking into it. The terms have said that the points will load in 7 business days which will be tomorrow for your purchase. However, we do not think it will load automatically. I have place your name onto the list so that the points can be added when the issue is resolved.

If the points are not added by Monday. Contact us for an update. I have been told that they have escalated the issue and it will be resolved early next week.”

          • @Shoonya: With so much issues and they have already lined up an other of these deal.

          • @Shoonya: Called them today, he credited the point in a second and said they are having issue with gc. Done in less than minute but had to wait for half an hour.

    • +1

chased up via Live chat and was credited manually.
      purchased on 16th Nov

  • Support couldn’t find the offer, tried to upload a screenshot and got disconnected. Hopefully they will credit me without having to reconnect.

  • Thanks they have credited a “Goodwill Payment” to my account.

  • Finally got it through the online chat. Waited for half an hour.

    • +1

Me too, it was hard work.

  • So there's been an error on rewards side with this promotion.
If you call you may get a goodwill payment of 2000 points.
They have identified the transactions and will be sorting out eventually.

  • +1

I just went on a chat with the support and below is that they said

"Just in regards to this. There is currently a points transfer issue with big w. It is currently working on this right now and you can expect these points to come to your account as soon as possible once they resolve this issue.
Unfortunately there is no time frame to when the points will be granted, but please expect the points to come soon as they are working on this now. You do not need to recontact us in regards to this issue."

  • I'm in the same situation. Last week they said to wait until the 29th for the bonus points to come through. The support agent insisted they had left themselves a note to check that the points did actually get credited, but of course nothing has happened, so I did another live chat today where they claimed there was an issue that was being worked on and that - for reals this time - the points would come through soon. (they even said they'd call me to let me know when it was completed, but I'm not holding my breath)

I imagine I'll be doing another live chat with them this time next week.

  • I checked today and looks like they have given me the missing points yesterday. The last person I spoke to on Tuesday said he will monitor for me as I called a day too early from the 7 working days requirement. So I am not sure whether he has fixed it for me, or EDR has fixed it and started issuing people the missing points.

    • I'm happy to report that mine have now appeared as well, with the description "Make It Right - Big W". So it looks like I won't have to be chatting with them again next week like I'd expected!
