          Finally got the trade-in giftcards today. I requested a cancellation of the trade-in since the $400 GC promo is long gone and they replied in a couple of hours that they've cancelled the trade-in and the auth on my card will be lifted in a few days.

          It sucks, but it is what it is. I'm hoping for another similar deal soon.

    I received a phone several years ago from workplace that I have now left. They didn’t ask for the phone back and I kept it. It has a trade in value of $5 now. If I use that phone for trade in purposes will that get rejected when they check the IMEI as technically the old firm would still own it.

      Hmm, I thought the page was pretty clear.

      Step 1: Check the value of your phone, tablet, laptop or smart watch with just a few questions.
      Step 2: You'll instantly receive your digital gift card when you submit your trade-in.
      Step 3: Use your gift card on any product or service in-store.

      To me that means you will receive the value of your trade-in phone instantly through a digital gift card when you submit your trade in.

      The $400 gift card comes later as you know.

    Thought I will give some update on the process I went through from start to finish.

    1) Saw dealbot's post on Fri the 10th (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/811021)

    2) Started the phone return on Mon the 13th (https://www.officeworks.com.au/information/about-us/peoplean…).
    Opted to not receive an instant gift card (mainly because I didn't want a hold to be placed on my credit card). Posted the phone via Australia Post the same day around lunchtime.

    3) Saw this current post on Tue the 14th. Checked my local Officeworks for stock and then went into the store on the same day and purchased P8P 256gb. Used the receipt to lodge a claim for Google promo (https://officeworks.moorup.com.au/promotion/google-pixel-8-o…)

    4) Received a message today morning (Wed the 15th) that my phone has been received and is being assessed. Received $400 Officeworks gift card today lunchtime in my email.

    I do not understand this process. Should I put my old phone for trade in. Purchase phone from office works. Where i need to submit receipts of purchase? I have booked trade in still device is pending to send. Will i be eligible for this deal?

    Seems like call centre and in store people are clueless when i asked about process and validity.

    Got the 8 and a 8 pro tonight separate reciepts. Traded in Ipad Mini 1 and Ipad Gen 2 got 5 bucks each for them. Not bad for junk that was lying around was able to claim $810 in total which made these phones pretty cheap. Brought it on my c/c for price drop protection before Black Friday just incase.

    A bunch of tricksters , never going to fall for this gimmick in future again or buy from them. Sent my old fully working mobile for trade in, they kept delaying the process and sent a trade in confirmation on the last due date of submitting the claim so i had a window of 8 hours which i missed. They just want to rip you off on trade in and lure you in with the GC gimmick.

              @bobokingdom: I found the whole process flawed and frustrating. There was some sort of issue from the start as I didn't receive my initial trade in voucher instantly and had to chase them up too… So it was no surprise I didn't receive the bonus $400 by the end of their promised timeframe.

              Persistence basically & a lot of emails. For the extra $400 voucher I started chasing from 21/12.

                    @OzBaggins: Moorup support is kinda rude as well. They basically told me to RTF terms and conditions when I enquired the $400 payment before 21st December. If they have checked and confirmed, then they wouldn't missed my transaction which they claimed they didn't have record for it. Even now, they kept on tell me to wait for a few days, the words they picked weren't too professional either. Overall, Thumbs down for Moorup Support.

          ok , so out of no where , they sent me 100$ gift card and 300$ gift card. I stopped chasing them when they rudely sent an email reply saying no claim submitted no GC. Not sure what triggered them to show some respect for their customer but i am not pissed now. Not great experience but eventually bonus delivered.
