Only $100 for 12 months. Normal price $120. (2022 Black Friday price was only $90)
For those looking for a BUDGET PRICED mobile plan with plenty of data (120GB).
Comes with VoLTE and Vodafone Wi-Fi calling capabilities.
Instant eSIM connection or FREE physical SIM delivery options.
The $100 Voucher can be used for 365 day Small Plan Renewal Recharges until 31/12/23 if you are an existing Kogan Mobile Customer

CONDITIONS (updated)
Voucher must be purchased by 11:59pm AEDT on 03/12/2023. Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 31/12/2023. Activation must be made before the voucher expiry date. Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges. .

Runs on the Vodafone network which is fine for metropolitan users but terrible in regional areas as I and many others have experienced.
So only consider this plan if principally for METROPOLITAN USE ONLY.

If looking for a cheaper budget 365 day plan or prefer not to be on the Vodafone network then check out CatchConnect's "no frills" 60GB 365 day plan for $89 (Normally $120).
Seems to be the last Optus MVNO plan standing at present offering a 365 day plan with 60GB data and Unlimited calls and TXT for under $100. (No data rollover)
So get in quick before this one disappears as well!

              • @HeWhoKnows: Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that the cheaper 365 plans are basically gone on Amaysim's website. I think it's only Catch Connect that's left offering sub $100 365 day plans as an Optus MVNO. I might see what happens Monday and call Amaysim if there are any better deals since the targeted offer is open until the 28th.

                • @Eragus: Amaysim's 60GB plan is not listed on their website but it is still available in-store at Woolworths as the "Amaysim $199 1 Year Plan".
I could not find the CIS for this plan on the Amaysim website. I contacted Amaysim support and they could not give me a link to the CIS for this Woolworths plan.
However, the back of the SIM packaging gives this link: "Find out what $119 gets you at amaysim.com.au/119"

I wanted to switch from my Lebara 360 day 80GB/$140 Extra Small plan and I brought this Amaysim $199 1 Year Plan discounted to $99 for the first year reported on this OzBargain post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/768546
(NOTE that the Lebara plan is 360 days, not 1 year)

Unlimited data banking. This is a feature I was after. (the Lebara plan limits data banking to 200GB)
Unlimited international talk and text to 28 countries. This I'm unlikely to use.
12 months to activate the SIM. This seems an important feature if you are planning to switch from another companies 1 year plan.
On the Optus 4G network. I use my phone 99.9+% in Melb metro so I can't judge whether this will be of any value. (Lebara was on Vodaphone)
4G download speeds capped at 100Mbps. This won't effect me.

I'm now hoping to also get the bonuses that Amaysim have offered in the past as reported in this post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/812041 (The birthday bonus data I received from Lebara was 3GB and Lebara did not offer me a discount to renew)

  • I'd wait for their Boxing Day sales.

    • +1

Black Friday sales have proved to be amongst the best deals of the year.

So check back on Monday when they are released by Amaysim

      • I just don't like the 31/12 expiry, so I'd wait for Boxing Day deals with later expiry.

  • Thanks got it! Last yeat it was 90 though :o

  • Is this SIM using 4G or 5G network?

    • 5G plans are a PREMIUM PLAN sold at a PREMIUM PRICE with those that sell them
This is a "Budget" plan so only 4G.
In fact I think Kogan does not have any 5G plans.

Everything about Kogan mobile is aimed at "budget" customers

  • +1

For those who has a Combank card, don't forget there is free 3 month from More Telecom which runs on Telstra. If there is no Amaysim deal next week, you can hop on to that deal for three months and hope something good come along.

  • +4

I've been on Kogan for a couple of years now. No issues in the Brisbane area.

Their Small plan gives the most data per annum at this price point and considering the service works for the locations I go to, I'm quite happy to stay with them for my main domestic phone service.

  • "Additional international roaming, international call, and data packs available"

So seems no international call included ?

But they provide eSim option, that's good tho .

    • +2

Coles mobile includes international calls to 15 countires with thier 365 day plans.
Coles also include unused data rollover up to 50GB.
See here: https://colesmobile.com.au (Look out for the regular Specials)
Unfortunately Coles no longer sell the 'budget" $120 60GB 365 day plan which was often on Special for $99.

Amaysim also includes international calls to 28 countries with thier "premium" 200GB plan which Retails for $220/yr
(might be on special for next week's Black Friday sales)
      See here: https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/12-month-sim-plans/unli…

NB: International calls are calls made FROM Australia.
So not the same as "roaming" when overseas.

But these days you can use Apple FaceTime, Whatsapp, Viber, Facebook messenger, Skype, WeChat and more apps to make FREE international calls, both audio and video as well as sending FREE messages both txt and with photos/videos.

      • Amaysim's $119 1yr 60Gb starter kit sold at Woolworths also comes with the 28 countries unlimited international calls. You can set this to auto renew every year.

Got this plan for my parents who are doing lots of traveling in their retirement so being able to call so many countries for free (if they need to contact the hotels in advance) has been invaluable.

        • Im pointing out what is available TODAY!
This amaysim plan no longer available for new customers. Neither is the equivalent Coles plan.

So yes, if you are lucky enough to be on one of these plans then STAY ON IT.
especially if you get a nice renewal incentive as many have with Amaysim

          • @HeWhoKnows: The woolworths $119 starter kit is still available now and is their ongoing price. I was in Woolies last night looking at gift cards which is right next to the sim cards and saw the $119 starter kit along with the $149 120Gb starter kit.

            They are these ones:

            https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/12-month-sim-plans/119-…

            https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/12-month-sim-plans/149-…

            • @Mugsy: Interesting
The $119 60GB plan says nothing about being available in selected Woolworths stores like the $149 plan does…..

"ONLY AVAILABLE IN PARTICIPATING WOOLWORTHS STORES
Only available for a 1 year UNLIMITED 120GB long expiry plan."

So it confirms what we all know - The budget 60GB plan has been withdrawn.
              Definitely pulled from Amaysim's website
Here are all the CURRENT amaysim starter packs:
              https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/starter-packs

Id say these are the very last stocks still available anywhere in Australia.
So grab one whilst you still can!
Pls let us know which Woollies store has them

              • @HeWhoKnows: When this deal below was posted, neither of the pages I posted could be reached by navigating on the website.

                https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803095

You could only find it by googling and going to the relevant result.

Similarly, I cannot find that starter pack page you posted by navigating or using the search function on Amaysim's website. It returns 0 results and suggests the AYG plan. But I could find it by Googling.

A lot of people say the old $120 60Gb 365 day plan is no longer available but that's actually incorrect. I complained to Amaysim feedback about that plan being discontinued and when they replied, they said that an existing customer can call up to switch to the plan. They even advised signing up to the AYG plan to become an existing customer so one can switch to the old 60Gb plan by calling up. The plan isn't advertised on the website or their app anymore but it's still available by calling.

                So it's anyone's guess what's current and what's not.

        • It looks like @Amayringone might have been correct in his post https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/137118 that the Amaysim $119 60GB was being withdrawn

The Amaysim $119 60GB starter pack was advertised in the 4th Oct Woolworths catalog for $99:
          https://www.catalogueau.com/woolworths/woolworths-catalogue-…

I purchased this SIM on 7th Oct and activated it on 19th Nov.

I went in to the local Woolworths today and there is no longer a starter SIM for the Amaysim 1 year $119 60GB plan that I purchased.
          - There are now only starter SIMs for two larger 1 year long term plans. I didn't record the details but they look different from the 1 year plans on the Amaysim web site

  • Can you recharge with the voucher before the current plan finishes?

    • Yes as mentioned in the deal description and in replies from others

    • But only within the given conditions

  • What happened to BOGOF? $20 is nothing…

    • Has there been a bogof deal this year at all?

I don't recall seeing one at all.

      • Back in march

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/760763

I do want to say Vodafone without 5G is a bit pain in the a**. Not unusable like their 3G days but has issues.

On the other hand Optus just 4G is already really good. Yes I know they blacked out for half a day, but the problem with that was not the black out but the lack of transparency, of course how also annoy by how stingy they get after 2018…..

        • Personally I have found Optus network on par with the Telstra Wholesale network used by Telstra MVNOs such as Belong and Woolworths Mobile.
          ie Both are VERY GOOD!

  • Keep getting error "Please enter valid address" when activating, tried everything but can't get past it for some reason. Anyone else getting the same issue?

  • The expiry date is just weird. I bought one today with $20 credit offers from them (thus I only pay $80 for $100 voucher) and almost bought another one for next year before thinking about the expiry date and it surprise me it's the end of the year, lucky I will need one prior that.

Checking 4 last purchases, dated today, 27/2/2023, 1/2/2023, and 16/12/2022 - they're all the same expiry date 11:59pm AEST on 31/12/2023.

  • Is anyone facing payment declined at checkout? I literally tried all different cards I have and still getting declined everytime. All cards are working fine elswhere. I tried searching they dont even have customer support number.

      • Depends on the issue

If you have issues with purchasing or want a refund due to poor reception then Kogan Customer Service

If trouble with the SIM card or other technical issues then Kogan Mobile support of course

Unfortunately Like all call centres you don't have any choice who to talk to so I wouldnt be asking for "the Manager".

  • +2

My son's been with Kogan for a few years now and is happy with the service. One of the cheapest 365 plans out there and works well. Decent offers when renewal comes up as well.

    • +1

Yes I found the same until I started travelling up and down the coast for holidays POST COVID-19 lockdowns.
As everyone says, Kogan is fine for metropolitan use.
Just terrible coverage in regional areas.

  • Just like last year's version of this Kogan phone plan sale, if you buy it using a Kogan giftcard from giftcardexchange with this gift card deal, you can get an additional 6% off.

Could someone please add this to the above description?

    • +1

      Report -> title/description

  • so I ported to Kogan from Boost using esim, the port was successful but in the iphone settings it says the allocated esim phone number not the successfully ported.

this has led to iMessage saying I don't own the previously associated number anymore — ive turned on/off, disabled/reenabled esim, it's been 48 hrs and still not refreshing in the phone settings (my Kogan profile & when I dial someone is definitely now the ported number but the iPhone just won't recognised the ported#, only the original esim).

    any tips?

    • Enjoy being a green bubble

    • try remove the old esim and with only the Kogan esim registered. Then disable iMessage (say for a few hours) and reenable after.

I had this issue a few times when I change sim card on my iPhone and it eventually fixed itself.
