        I’m a strong human!!

      • Where did this rivalry with bot come from?

        • +10

I don't go around telling stores they're not allowed to let anyone else post deals.

Minimum $100 gift card for the 8% off. I know the OP states that, but worth confirming.

      • +8

I use these to pay for subscriptions.

        • Do you know how to use apple balance to pay for Apple are?

          • -3

@Aap Ke Papa: Assuming you mean Apple Care. as far as I know, if you have balance it will come out of there first.

            • +3

@pitufon: You can no longer use your Apple balance for Apple Care. as of like a few months ago :(

              • +1

@theguyrules: Ah boo. thank you for clarifying.

              • @theguyrules: Ahhh that explains why my apple care has been coming off my card!

                • +1

@zukand: Yeah, its pretty disappointing, I was considering Apple Care for my new iPhone but not being able to get it cheaper hurts

        Apps, movies, music etc.
I literally just bought an app before seeing this post and could have shaved off 8%

  • +14

Still waiting for the 15% off.

    • +2

Me too.. being eyeing a powerful mac pro but too expensive at current edu price.

    • I priced matched mine at OW when this happened. Got me 20%

      • +7

I hope you made the most of that, because the Officeworks Price Beat Guarantee now lists gift cards as the first exclusion.

        • thanks :(

        • +2

Surely that means no price beat on BUYING gift cards, not paying with?

          • +1

@digitalane: That would be my assumption too.

However, there is a non-zero chance you will one day run into a staff member who interprets that exclusion and will believe it says you cannot obtain a price beat if you are wanting to use “gift cards” as a payment method.

            • +3

@WookieMonster: or that nice staff that once asked me if I would like to try to pay a gift card with a gift card at OW

              • @Poor Ass: Reminds me of a coles staff who refunded me in cash because I had paid with gift card and they weren’t sure how the refund system worked for gift cards.

    • Are these ever a thing anymore? I feel like I haven’t seen one in a long time.

  • anyone knows how long is the wait time to receive the GC? Also, should be able to claim GST back with TRS even if using GC?

    • +1

Yes, you can still claim GST back for purchase with Gift Card

    • -1

It depends. Many Gift Card purchases don't include GST. You pay GST at the point the GC is redeemed, not when it is purchased.

  • Well it depends . If you using a coles MasterCard then it may never come lol

    • Is this a thing, that purchases made with Coles MasterCard seem to be successful, only to be cancelled later?
This has happened a fair bit to my mum who's been ordering coles deliveries, only to have them be cancelled due to bizarre payment problems that happen hours before delivery was scheduled.

  • Silly question, I am in the market for 2x iPhones, just wanted to ensure that I can buy iPhones with these. Thank you.

    • i bought my phone with apple gift cards…

    • +3

get the GC and load into your apple account as credit
then you can buy anything in apple online store / edu store (including iphones) with the credits

      • Nice tip, I’m assuming multiple gift cards are fine?

        • you can load as many GC as into your account
each apple account can hold max credit of AUD $5000

      • I didnt see any discount on iphones in their edu store. correct?

  • +5

Great timing, just got an email from the boss asking to purchase Apple gift cards for staff members for Christmas..

    • +4

Why give staff members an Apple gift card? Lots of people might not have any use for Apple products.

Why not just give cash bonus or at least a gift card that can be used at multiple places.

      • +9

I think MaXcon is referencing a common scam.

        • +1

          oh, I see.

      • Having a stab at this :)

  • +6

Aren't woolworths 20x deals better in terms of discount?

    • +6

I reckon most would prefer $8 cash than $10 Woolies credit

      • If a business expense then you are better off spending full price at Woolies (for receipt/tax purposes) and then using the $$ off as personal grocery shopping!

    • +4

I guess it depends on where you normally shop.

  • +1

Better than nothing, I would say equivalent to ERP if you shop in Woolies regularly.

  • Do these work on edu store? Sorry for dumb question.

    • +2

      Yes they do

      • +1

Sweet thanks for confirming! Will stack with edu and gst refund.

  • Hey. As the deal is limited to $1k, could I order from 2 different email addresses and credit cards to get $2k worth for the Edu store? Just about to grab a new computer!!

  • just 1 hour after I purchased $2200 worth apple giftcard from coles…

    • +6

Isn’t the Coles flybuys deal slightly better? 10% back in dollars spent in points.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/817969

      • Yes. It’s certainly better in my opinion.

    • I'm thinking to do the same today to get an iPhone. Did you have any problems buying them all at once?

      • no problem at all.

  • -2

8% off apple iPhone prob greatest deal yet

  • +3

What’s the ETA of receiving the e-gift Card after purchase ?

    • digital, so wait only on email

      • +2

Yeah been waiting 30 minutes and nothing, despite there claim on instantly sending instantly.

        • Order this morning and just got a cancellation email.

  • -2

Great deal! Can someone confirm if it can be used to pay the ATO? Do I need to add it to a wallet or similar?

    Thank you!

    • +1

      well I liked your joke

  • Do these arrive instantly? Can you use to pay in store?

    • +6

      According to there FAQ..

I ordered 25 minutes ago and I yet to get mine.

Your digital card should be sent instantly.

If you do not receive it, please check your spam, and junk mail folders.

If you are unable to locate this, your order may have been flagged in our system as fraudulent. Due to high volumes of fraudulent charges in the eCommerce industry, we want to make sure we are taking the steps to protect our customers as well as our company. Therefore, we set our system to work automatically in screening potential fraud on each placed transaction.

      • Me too. It's been an hour since I ordered. Getting nervous as this was purchased to buy a physical gift for someone.

      • Did you guys your gift cards by now?

  • +5

    I don’t rate the website..

Grabbed a $500 card but it was flagged despite calling and providing verification they want me to wait 24 hours. I recommend not bothering for the sake of 8%.

  • I will wait until the 15% off deal similar to last year.

  • +2

This does not look promising. Has anyone else had a bad experience with them?

    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/card.gift

    • not good. why the neg?

    • Oh boy, so far I suspect they screwed me. Paid with Apple Pay and was flagged. Verified over the phone and was told wait 10 minutes and now getting the run around

      • +1

I paid with Apple Pay as well. Emailed them and got this:

Due to an increase in Fraudulent activity within the E-commerce industry, TCN is taking all precautions to review orders before dispatching to ensure the safety of our customers.

Your order CGXXXX is still currently being reviewed by our accounts team.

We will be in touch shortly with the outcome.

        • +3

I dunno, these guys are suss.. the trustpilot reviews don’t inspire much confidence.

          • +1

@x-lite: I have ordered tons of different cards from them over time.

I have had zero issues with them and usually cards are delivered within minutes.

    • +1

Ouch wish I'd read these before buying! Was too eager since in the market for a new laptop… Should have given up when the bank flagged the transaction in the first place! I guess I'll call up for a chargeback in a few days when the GC never arrives, but will sit a wait it out.

      • Tried purchasing with a credit card originally and it got declined (no issues with my card). I then added the same card to PayPal and paid with PayPal and it went through.

      • Ok, my gc's arrived! Looks like a lot of people got theirs cancelled though.

On a side note, the gc's are generated from TCN so at least we know they'll work.

  • I applied apple credit to my account, I have been having my Applecare+ subscription debited from this credit for approx a year. Now it is charging my credit card and apple support tell me that it's the way it is and I can't use apple gift card credit to pay.

Anyone know if this is true? I can't find anything saying you can't use this credit for subscriptions, They are unable to escalate it through apple support to anyone else. Is there an ombudsman or someone that regulates this?

    Thanks

      • Thanks for the replies, I did search but couldn’t see anything

Shame that they have changed the regulations

    • +2

I do not think there were any terms and conditions that officially stated you could have AppleCare+ monthly subscriptions paid for using Apple Account Associated Balances (or Apple gift cards).

If you read the Apple gift card terms and conditions,, it says under clause 2:

You can use your Gift Cards to purchase content, apps, and services (collectively, “Content”) from Apple Media Services and items (“Products”) from Apple Retail Stores, Apple online stores, and the Apple Store App.

There is no mention of AppleCare+ subscriptions being specifically permitted in this part of clause 2 (or anywhere else in the gift card terms and conditions). And before you say “that is today, what about in the past?”, snapshots of the Apple gift card terms and conditions in October 2021 and August 2022 (as examples) also do not mention AppleCare+ subscriptions.

In terms of Apple Media Services, I believe it does not apply to AppleCare+ subscriptions, because:

      • If you look at the Apple Media Services terms and conditions, it mentions a large number of Apple services in those terms, but there is no mention of AppleCare+ anywhere in these terms and conditions. (I also checked the terms and conditions in April 2022 and there is still no mention of AppleCare+ subscriptions.)

      • If you look at the AppleCare+ terms and conditions (and here is the most recent one for iPads, iPhones, etc), there is no mention of Apple Media Services, which indicates it has nothing to do with AppleCare+.

In terms of Apple Retail Stores, Apple online stores, and the Apple Store App:

      • AppleCare+ is sold through Apple Retail Stores, which means the Apple gift card terms and conditions should let you use Apple gift cards as a payment method for a once-off payment for new AppleCare+ coverage. However, I do not think you can pay for an ongoing AppleCare+ monthly subscription through an Apple Retail Store.

      • I would argue that Apple online stores do not sell AppleCare+, because the portal you enter to purchase AppleCare+ appears to be a support page. The URL for purchasing AppleCare+ for an iPad (https://mysupport.apple.com/add-coverage?productTypeId=SG004) looks different to the URLs you see for Apple’s online stores for purchasing hardware (https://www.apple.com/au/store).

      • I cannot find a way to purchase AppleCare+ through the Apple Store App. I know you can purchase AppleCare+ through the Settings app of an iPad (as an example), but the Settings app is not the same as the Apple Store App.

I think your only option to pay for AppleCare+ using an Apple gift card is (and has always officially been) going to an Apple Retail Store (i.e. a physical Apple Store).

  • I wonder how many people have actuality got their gift cards. Reading through the latest comments, a few people including myself have not got the cards.

    • It’s been 5 hours since I ordered and no sign of mine…

      • Same here.

    • +2

Yeah if I don't have it by tomorrow arvo I'll probably start thinking about refunds

    • About an hour and waiting. I expect it'll sort itself out by tomorrow. (Or I hope it will)

  • I ordered earlier this afternoon and it came through in about a minute. Was $1200 worth of gift cards in one transaction.

Paid with a credit card if that helps.

Saying that, does anyone know how an apple trade in works if you primarily pay with gift cards?

Am planning to buy an iphone 15 pro using 90% gift cards, trade in a phone worth 500ish and pay the remainder by credit card. I dont want to end up with another $500 gift card for the trade in!
