Does this works well with andriod?

    • +1

I have a friend who uses them with a Samsung, they work well.

You can pair them to your Windows laptop ect

      • -1

they do NOT work well with windows laptop. they will dc at like 5-10 metres away, anywhere near microwave, and randomly. Then you have to manually reconnect.

        • I’ve found all the Bluetooth audio devices I’ve tried with windows systems have sucked

          • @Guzd: for bluetooth range/general connectivity and windows laptop:
            headphones (sony) >> other earbuds(creative,samsung) > apple app2
I even got the magicpods app + updated my intel bluetooth to latest 23.xx driver
I now only use the app2 with iphone (flawless). For my windows laptop, I ordered the xm5 earbuds…hopefully they dont suck

        • +2

It will most likely depend on the bluetooth chip and antenna configuration in your laptop. Mine work fine up to about 15-20 meters with a couple of walls in between.

          • @timle: If i connect my app2 to my desktop, then yeah ill get that bluetooth range no problem. So yea, the antenna is alot of the issue. But bluetooth heaphones have worked well and other earbuds work enough on the laptop. I just dont want to use them because of fit, function, or heat. The app2 fixes all of this but has worse connectivity. The card on my laptop is an intel wifi6+bt 5.2 m.2 card.

People going to be made about this, but there's a paid capp called MagicPods that adds a lot of Mac functionality on the Airpods, when using it on a Windows PC.

    • Even weller with iso

    • +3

      You'll lose some features with an Android. Off the top of my head;

      • No auto-pause when removing one side of the Airpods.
      • No auto-pairing.
      • No battery level shown on the phone, only a green or red LED on the case.
      • +2

        Mine definitely auto-pairs. I have the 2nd Gen non-usb C model Pro's

You can use a 3rd party free app for the battery indicator, I use this one occasionally.

The main annoyance for me is you can switch between Noise Cancelling and Ambient Mode, but you cannot switch to Off. Both modes that I can use do work very well though. "Off" would be nice to save battery.

I've also got no iOS or Mac device to be able to do any updates or make any changes to them. Rec'd as a gift & not complaining :D

        • +1

I think you need an iPhone to configure the switch behavior, gotta do it for both left and right Airpods, but once configured can be used to turn off N/C on android.

        • Why do you need to save the airpods battery? I have app2 lightning, and the battery life on them feels just short of infinite.

      • I can't see the battery level on my iPhone too I don't know why and it was bought from apple… Might need to take it to the store and have a check.

    • i used the first gen airpods pro with my samsung recently, wife stole my xm4s so i had to use something on a series of flights, having compared the performance between connecting with my phone and Ipad, the noise cancelling does get slightly hampered between android and ios and i suspect with airpods, they use the microphones on the phone to help with noise cancelling. other than that and no pretty animation when first connecting them up, they played well enough.

    • In my case, mic is not good in calls with Android

      • A guy at work connects to calls with his iPhone &/or Mac with the Pro's and they never sounded great, so I dont think its the device/OS, but rather the earphones themselves.

    • I use them with my pixel 7 pro, really easy to connect and fast compared to my Sony WHxm4. Noise canceling is great, about 90% of what my Sony does, thought it took me a few days to get used as the noise canceling pressure right into the ear messed with my sense of equilibrium (no problem now).
The key controls are volume up and down, long press to change modes NC and transparent mode, one clic to stop the music.

    • +2

I use my airpods pro 2 daily after switching to Samsung, they worked well with pixel too. Can't see battery without a third party app though. They auto pair to the phone

    • Why AirPods when you use Android? This costs more than my Bose QC45 SE.

  • Good deal.

techciti is part of the mobileciti group and they only sell genuine Australian stock.

      • +1

And are often brand new too, often (not always) :D

        • How do I know if these AirPod Pros are new or not when I order them?

          • @A-Train004: It was more a jib at mobile citi sending our refurbished pixel 3's in the past, when selling them as "brand new".

Check the listing says Brand New on ebay. Then:

check everything as you open them, the box / packaging, shrink wrap, the case, the earphones look for signs of everything being new with no fingerprints etc anywhere. Original seals everywhere is what you hope to see as you open the package

      • Sorry, didn't know that, I trust mobile citi as well

      • I got mine today - Malaysian imports

  • +1

Yes! These have been sitting in my cart for weeks, glad I held out :D

  • Does anyone know why these are sold at $150 ish on ebay and Facebook?

    • +14

      Because they are fake

    • -1

If you can get a serial number from the seller, you can verify if they are legit

      • +2

You can verify they got a serial from a real pair… not that the one you get are legit.

      • +5

Not always true unfortunately, they just get one real serial and print it on multiple units…

        • This and the fact their fakes.

The ultra clones are very difficult to tell between real and fake, serial numbers will check out, some even have some crappy form of ANC. One of the best ways is to connect to your device and upgrade the firmware, fakes wont upgrade although the better ones will connect and identify correctly.

Sadly for us bargin hunters, the very best way is to only buy from reputable sellers like this one!

    • More than likely scams or a knock off or maybe you're looking at "AirPods 2nd Gen" instead of the Pro model.

    • Ebay also has a lot of fakes, almost always have very low feedback counts - beware!

lucky i got it from this sale :D

Unless you need them I’d wait for Boxing Day hoping for this price again.

      • Just bought $302.40 a few mins ago….same deal for Boxing Day sell. Above $261 deal seems unreal….

        • Did you use the code DAS020? I've been trying but it's not working (I'm with eBay Plus).

  • +1

Not as good as the 20% sale, but good last min Chrissy gift. If you can TRS it would be even better, the receipt you will receive has the full price on it :)

    • Following - does anyone know if you can TRS it?

      • I did lol

        • haha how did you do it? Is there a way to do it before the item arrives? Sorry noob here.

          • @21Savage: nah, you can't. Bring the item with you to the airport at the TRS counter.

Make sure you ask the seller to give you a proper tax invoice the one that has their ABN and price of the product on it. ..

          • +1

@21Savage: Technically, the invoice should come immediately. If you show them any pair of AirPods Pro, they’re unlikely to check the serial etc.
To be clear, this is frowned upon.

            • @ts13: thank you and appreciate the feedbacks!

    • +1

I will go overseas in one week. Thanks for reminding me that I can TRS this. Cheers!

  • Thanks OP. Missed the last deal which was a better deal and that got sold out so fast. But, this isn't bad too.

  • Was only just looking at $370 from GGC this morning, this is a far better price. Thanks OP.

  • Does office works price match on this? Probably not hey?

    • +1

      Hit and miss

  • Are they genuine Australian stock or grey imports?

  • Thanks I missed the comment.

  • Always failed payment, tried different cards, but the same thing. Enough balance and unlocked online payment! Appreciate if you have any idea!

  • Great deal. Been looking out for these for a while. Cheapest I was able to get was Officeworks price match $359 down to $341.05. Really glad I held out and waited.

  • Code not working for me (with eBay Plus), is it still valid?

    • Works for me. Try to refresh the webpage.

      • Thanks mate, had to change my registered address back to an Oz address in order to work.

  • Some other sellers seem to be selling them for $170-$200 on eBay. They claim is genuine and have low number of reviews to back them up.
    EBay guarantees the purchase.
    What am I missing?

  • The deal has ended the code is no longer valid.

  • +1

Got mine today - these are Malaysian imports. Not AU stock.

    • +1

Same, mine are also Malaysian imports. Does this affect the warranty at all? Is it better to just return them and buy genuine ones that are AU stock?

      • I have started to use them. Will ask for an invoice from the seller now.

    • How did you know it is Malaysian import and not Australian?

      • It says on the packaging. AU stock labels are different.

        • Just picked mine up from the post, Malaysia labels too. Any issues with them thus far before I open? Thanks.

          • @Highalchemy: None, works well. Not sure what’s happen when we need warranty. Seller sent an AU invoice with GST etc. Should be fine

        • Hey mate, I’ve confirmed with another OzBargainer. He bought his from Officeworks and that it has the same packaging too

As long as the MTJ and has an Australian tick at the bottom of the label, that means it’s AU stock
