Also, please make sure to keep Motivated installed, otherwise, you might lose access to Premium.

not to be an a-hole but I think this isn't happening for most of us. Surely that should be tied to the IAP of the app?
Beautiful app though, I'll give it a shot and rate accordingly after a month.

    • +28

I had motivation to install but then also saw this and got demotivated

      • +2

and reading below i got motivated again
life is just like yo yo full of ups and downs

Once Cloud Sync rolls out (next month), all redeemed codes will be persisted. Just hold on for a few weeks :)

      • +3

So you're saying to install it now and keep it installed, so then when the cloud option comes we can reinstall later and get pro upon reinstallation?

        • Yes, but you won't have to reinstall. Cloud sync will allow you to backup your data, including redeemed premium.

          • +1

@4mish: Why not make it a normal IAP? Does it cost money to do it that way or something?

            • +4

@AustriaBargain: Using in-app purchases (IAP) would require users to confirm the purchase using Apple Pay. I think that many would have an issue with that. This way, you can get free premium by just adding the code, and cloud sync will fix the deletion issue.

      • Will cloud sync and redeemed codes work between iOS and Android and multiple devices?

        • No. There is no account sign up.
Therefore, cloud sync will only work within a single platform only. For iOS, this relies upon iCloud.

      • iOS aside, does Premium persist on Android already if we need to uninstall it or is that pending too? Thanks

  • +4

    Looks like affiliate post

    • +3

This is not an affiliate post. Just promoting my app.

      • +17

So you are…. affiliated with the product?

        • +6

They are affiliated yes, but I think using 'affiliate' on OzB when it's not an affiliate link causes confusion. The first thing I think of are referral/affiliate links on OzB rather than the logical -affiliated/associated with xyz-

          • +1

@Kozhutki: Stop being so logical, it’s nearly Christmas

  • +6

Thanks OP got motivated to install it

  • +3

This is a good app. I like the interface and left some good reviews. Why can't we have it premium after uninstall? I want to reset my phone by end of the year. Part of my cleansing habit

    • +7

      Thank you! :)

The app has just been released (the reason why I'm giving it away) and doesn't have Cloud sync yet. Once that's in place, your Premium will be persisted. Should be available next month.

      • +2

Just tested this and I can confirm that once you remove the app and reinstall, you have lost access to premium. You have to input the code again. I also thought that the purchase would be tied to the Apple account, but guess not in this case

        • +2

Using in-app purchases (IAP) would require users to confirm the purchase using Apple Pay. I think that many would have an issue with that. This way, you can get free premium by just adding the code, and cloud sync will fix the deletion issue.

          • @4mish: Hi

I had activated the lifetime bonus, but just had to factory reset my iPhone due to other issues.

Is there any way that you could add me to the list of users who have lifetime?

            All the best

            Shane

      • +1

All good. Thank you. It's a beautifully made app and I like the thought behind it. Keep it up

    • Try keep it on a second device if you can. Just make sure it’s the same google play account and that should do the trick while you reset your phone.

  • +2

"Code will be active till the end of this year - 31.12.2024" - is this meant to be 31.12.2023?

    • Yes, sorry. Fixed it.

  • +6

Thanks OP. I believe this should be highlighted.

double-tap the title that says “Do More With Motivated Pro.”

    • +1

Took me a bit to figure this out too

    • +1

Yes, took a few tries to work out, and i almost purchased the app thinking code box must be on another page.

Once youre on the subscription page with the monthly , yearly prices etc you need to double tap the blue title “Do more with…” only then will the code box appear.

  • +4

What is this?! Not requiring an account, I'm sold already.

  • Tried the steps to enter the promo code and it doesn't allow - goes to paid option. This is on Android

    • +4

Worked for me just now. Make sure you double tap the text to enter the code. It's effectively a hidden button that will then prompt you to enter the code.

      • +4

And a Merry Motivated Christmas to you!

  • Thanks mate, will give this a good over the weekend

  • +9

Not requiring an account is awesome. Think this should be promoted more!

When you say cloud sync is coming, can you provide more details?

Can you summarise what you do with our data, the privacy policy indicates you are taking some of our data including photos?

    • +5

Nothing. Your data stays in your phone. Cloud sync will be available next month and will sync your in-app data across all your devices, including redeemed premium.

There are no photos in Motivated. Thanks for pointing this out. We will fix the privacy policy

      • +1

Where is the data stored specifically for cloud sync? (iOS and Android)

Will the sync work between android and iOS devices?

        • +1

Yes, it will. Data will be encrypted and stored on our servers. You will have the option to delete the cloud data if you no longer want it to be synced, right in the app—fast and simple. Also, our privacy policy is very clear on how we manage user data, we don't share it with anyone.

          • +1

@4mish: is that something you really want to maintain? (I understand it can be used to justify a subscription, but I really like the "no signs up enforced, we dont require your data" approach.

Is inter-ecosystem sync a massive deal that might be better handled by pushing the cloud thing off to iCloud, Google Drive, etc and then you remove all of that stuff from your plate.

I really like how the app looks, its a nice and simple design, well done. Hope you get plenty of useful feedback from people pciking it up now.

      • You’re amazing. Good job with the app and promoting it, inspiring. I wish I learnt how to code when I was in my mother’s womb.

JUST FYI (ALL iOS/Apple users) those with "Offload Unused Apps" turned on may have their app deleted after 12 days of non use (this feature is automatically on for iOS users ever since the features release).

If you are worried about losing premium for this app but do not plan to use this app much at this point in time, I highly recommend you TURN OFF "Offload Unused Apps" in settings as you may come back to this app in future and find that it uninstalled itself before Cloud Sync was rolled out for it and you have also lost premium features lol.

    • +4

This is not necessary. Offloaded app data is not deleted, you won't lose your premium.

      • Makes sense since offloading retains local data and settings. Appreciate the clarification. I will still keep my "Offload Unused Apps" to "Off" as I tend to fully uninstall apps with the offloaded icon anyway to declutter my phone as its a great indicator of stale apps. I've set a reminder to turn the setting back on in a few months so that Motivated isn't cleansed accidently :)

  • Thanks OP. I'll have a look and give the review once I've used it to its potential.

I've been looking for something that works on Windows PC. The Samsung Sleep Mode works well but need something that will do the same on the PC even if it's just your reminders. Is there an PC version?

    • Sorry, for the time being, only iOS and Android apps are available. However, tablet support is planned in the near future. I think you can install Android apps on ARM-based Windows PCs.

    • Just use an android emulator like Bluestacks or Noxplayer if you want to run it on windows/PC.

  • The code 'MP2024' didn’t work. Is this correct code?

    • Yes. It should work.

      • Didn't work for me too

        • +1

Didn't work for me either on android in Google pay code

Edit: worked in app clicking the yellow motivated pro letters

          • @G Wok: Same, double tap yellow motivated pro text . Code worked 👍

  • Thanks OP. Ill give a try and leave an honest review.

  • Thanks! works

  • Thanks. Cant wait to use it. Looks like a great interface

  • Beautiful app indeed!

  • Thanks!

  • Could I ask how does this app help you quit bad habits?

I looked at the app and other than adding tasks you want to build(hopefully a good habit) it doesn’t specially help you quit a bad one per se unless I’m missing something?

    Thanks

    • +2

When you create a habit you can create a quit habit.

    • I think these apps are just meant to help you become more disciplined (in theory), use newfound discipline to improve on bad habits.

    • The idea is that you create a habit you want to quit and follow your schedule. Motivated will do its best to remind you when it's needed. We also have a feature called Habit Health that is meant to show where you are with your habit and how each successful session increases your progress. Progress is what motivates people to keep going. Give it a try, it's free. :)

      • OP could you turn on ur msgs? Thanks

  • Thanks OP

  • Hey @4mish

I unintentionally purchased the app. Could you plz cancel and refund? Paid under account mosh…[email protected]

    • +1

If you purchased on iOS, you will have to contact Apple. Can't find your purchase on Google Play

      • Yes, it was IOS.
No problem. Will follow up with Apple

  • Hey this looks really nice. Nice work

  • +1

right in time for the new year resolution and get motivated to complete it start it

  • Thank you. The “Repeat” section in Edit Habit doesn’t work properly. It selecta the next day to the one I tapped - I tapped monday and it selected tuesday.

    Otherwise great app. Good work.

    • Thank you for reporting this bug, we will certainly fix it.

  • This is a nice looking app, but apart from the visuals, what does this offer over other apps? Because I see nothing new; just a pretty interface. If that's the case, then that's fine but it doesn't compel me to use it

  • +2

Can't find it on the playstore. Strange….

Does it pass the playstore secirity checks etc?

  • +2

    Great app…. Thanks Op.
Wondering if you are planning to add widget support to it at some stage…. Be great if we can tick the items straight from the home screen widgets.

  • +1

This is a great app OP, however maybe have a look at playstore access please. On Pixel 8 Pro and could only download from the link in your post..

    • +1

Sorry about that. The Android app is now back in the store. We had a few issues with our previous version that resulted in the app being unavailable for a short period of time.

  • How does it compare to FOSS "Habits" app?

  • +3

    Latvian surpriseware!
    Not actually on Playstore list
So I have just lost my motivation!
