This deal is still available (despite low stock and being marked expired).

I ordered the Weber Q3100 Family Q BBQ - Natural Gas, got it for $485 and have just picked it up. Absolute bargain.

    • -3

That's Natural Gas, this deal it's LPG. I think people prefer LPG.

      • -3

Some might, but Natural Gas works for me and you cant beat that price.

        • +7

Natural gas only works if you have a gas outlet in your backyard. Lpg is the go to for most as its just a tank fill/replacement and also makes it portable too.

      • -2

You can probably change from NG to LPG, it's normally just a new regulator and jets

    • Which store did you get it from mate?

      • Mitre 10 Newtown

        • Amazing purchase. Showing as out of stock everywhere for me. Well done. Might call around tomorrow

    • I've got a Baby Q and was looking at this an upgrade. How do you go without the thermometer? And is the manual ignition ok? Mine is battery now.

  • +2

I saw the 'old' model was 50% off at David Jones along with some accessories. I don't think the minor changes would be worth the extra $$.

    • +2

50% off I can't seem to find it posted here.

      • It was in store at Chatswood, I was looking at accessories and the salesgirl said if you want a Weber BBQ they are 50% off also

        • What accessories you got, I m in market for them as well. Bought q2000 during black Friday. Now need accessories..

    • They seem to have re-shaped the upper lid - actually looks like it would be more useful like that

      • Might be better for a roast I guess. As in to fit it in. But I think the flatter lid should help keep the internals hotter?

      • the ones sold via weber specialised outlets have had the larger lid and thermometer for a long time vs box mover model with lower lid and no thermometer … it’s to stop bbq specialists having to price match bcf ,etc.

  • I have the 2800n+ got it to test and honestly its great the side drip tray was annoying this one is on the front just that alone makes this better than previous models.
    Slightly cheaper then tgg commercial

  • Forever holding out for a sale on weber spirit ii e310 :/

    • +2

That's what the secondhand market is for- last time I checked, they turn up regularly and they are well under half the new price.

      • Usually not well cared for but YMMV

  • What is the difference between Q3100 and Q3200?

    • -100 or +100 depending which way you compare it. Lol

      • +1

Q3200 it is, only sold from Webber though.

    • +2

Q3100 is a piezo ignition, no thermometer.

Q3200 is electric ignition, inbuilt thermometer and a slightly taller lid.

  • I wonder when nandos will start giving the new version as part of peri perks.

  • Hi, where is the 10% off gift cards?

    • Wondering the same thing. Feeling like a noob not knowing the answer. Hoping someone can shed some light

Edit: could it be via the current TCN deal “For Him” gift cards from Coles? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/821872

      • +1

Hey, yep it's that - you can only redeem 2x HIM cards online but instore has no limit I don't think!

    https://homefires.com.au/product/weber-baby-q-premium-q1200n…

Seems to best price for Q1200N )also old Q1200 for 299)

  • Anyone know whether family q better than the spirit?

  • For those close enough to one, Weber store was running a 10% off deal for Weber bbqs and accessories.
They were selling the Q3200N+ for $799. Until NYE. Might be worth it if someone is not planning to buy using discounted gift cards.

  • On the accessories front, what are if any other options to have Fry pan or casserole that works with weber. Below seems highly priced. I understand the detachable handle is the option but could any normal fry pan works?

    https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/accessories-by-barbe…

    • That looks like a terrible idea to use on a Webber BBQ anyway. It's teflon-coated, which degrades into harmful chemicals around 240C, and the temperature control on a BBQ is extremely rough.

Just get a cast iron pan for a third of the price.

      • funny weber themselves are selling it as option. Not across the details….cast iron would avoid the chemicals possibility? Nor sure if cast iron pan comes with detachable hand

        • Well, cast iron doesn't get coated in PTFE, which is what Teflon is.

Skillets come with short handles. A detachable handle just sounds like an unnecessary joint that would get loose or filled with grease and carbon over time.

It really lowers my opinion of Weber that they are selling PTFE coated accessories for BBQs.

          • @rumblytangara: I can always use heat proof mitts to overcome hot handle with cast iron i guess. Detachable handle seems more like gimmik as well. Agree if there is real issue with bbq heat and teflon they they should avoid selling it.
