Install Stremio + Buy Offcloud = Basically like a Lifetime Netflix sub for $40usd.

Stremio works amazingly well with real-debrid, but it costs $16 EUR every 6 months.
Instead I've found Offcloud works very nicely with Stremio and they currently offer a lifetime subscription on stacksocial for $40.
They've been around since 2009 (14 years). You can watch unlimited Stremio streams with a Offcloud lifetime sub.

So what is Stremio?
It's an open source app similar to Plex/Kodi available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Google Play with over 10+ million installs. (4.2/5 rating). Most of the streams are 1080p/4K.

What is Real-Debrid/Offcloud?
It downloads and caches torrents/usenet files remotely and then streams the content to you, so you never have an issue with ISP complaints.

How do I install Stremio + Offcloud so they work together?
Read this: https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/yi5jdw/ultim…

The part where you choose "Real-Debrid" from dropdown menu, instead choose Offcloud and enter the Offcloud API, which can be found in Accounts > API Key.

Once you try Stremio + Offcloud for a few days, it's time to go cord cutting.

"**NOTE: The guide suggests checking 'Don't show download to debrid links' – I recommend not checking this. By leaving it unchecked, you enable streaming even if the title isn't available, caching the file for others. If checked, you might see 'No streams available' if the file isn't cached, which disadvantages you and everyone else in the long term."

How can I tell if a file is cached and ready for instant streaming?
If the link shows [OC+] the file is cached, if it shows [OC-download], then it means you need to fetch it/cache it.

  • You know what they say about too good to be true right…

On what planet would anyone think $50 lifetime subscription is sustainable or able to pay for decent hosting?

Just pay for Real debrid/alt and get a high performance / high hit rate cache. It's barely $5 a month

    • This. Switched over to Stremio + RD a while ago. So much easier than trying to get Netflix from Uzbekistan with GCs.

Runs seamlessly on my Firestick with less lag than any of the paid-for streaming services.

      • @GrandMaster - What are file sizes you are playing? I found Firestick has problem with 50G+ file.

        • @xsw123 on rare occasions I've found that the larger files play with a black screen, but then I simply select the next best option. Haven't tried those on my Chromecast because it's hardly ever a showstopper.

          • @GrandMaster: @GrandMaster - thanks. That is interesting, mine 1st gen 4k max hardly play anything. I have to use external player. Are you using the default? May I ask what Firestick have you got?

            • @xsw123: 4k max too using default settings. Mine even worked fine when I was 4g hotspotting at povo speeds so I don't think it's connection related.

Haven't bothered trying it with Offcloud. I simply used the Torrentio RD connection settings as suggested in the reddit guide above.

Thanks for sharing but I've gone a different route. I've connected Stremio to my Google Drive with unlimited storage and videos. No subscription required and very fast Google Servers.

    • Google still do unlimited?

    • Different use cases, the benefit of this is privacy and no need for a VPN provider.
When paired with Stremio\Real-Dbrid, it's far more wife\kid friendly than plex, it's like Netflix with on-demand torrents on the backend without the copywrite\isp risk of torrenting.
I still use google drive for CCTV videos, it's absolutely great, but in my region it's not exactly fast, wouldn't rely on it to stream 4k high bit rate content.

  • Anyone receive or know if this stacks with the 15% first purchase discount?
When I visit the site, prompts to sign-up for the newsletter and receive a code for 15% off my first purchase.
But I never receive the code (tired multiple emails), and can't see the actual T&C's of the code.
Current RD user here, but at this price seems like a good backup \ future option.
UPDATE: Did a google search and found ENJOY15 but is says the item in your cart is not eligible for coupons so that Q is answered.
