Install Stremio + Buy Offcloud = Basically like a Lifetime Netflix sub for $40usd.

Stremio works amazingly well with real-debrid, but it costs $16 EUR every 6 months.
Instead I've found Offcloud works very nicely with Stremio and they currently offer a lifetime subscription on stacksocial for $40.
They've been around since 2009 (14 years). You can watch unlimited Stremio streams with a Offcloud lifetime sub.

So what is Stremio?
It's an open source app similar to Plex/Kodi available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Google Play with over 10+ million installs. (4.2/5 rating). Most of the streams are 1080p/4K.

What is Real-Debrid/Offcloud?
It downloads and caches torrents/usenet files remotely and then streams the content to you, so you never have an issue with ISP complaints.

How do I install Stremio + Offcloud so they work together?
Read this: https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/yi5jdw/ultim…

The part where you choose "Real-Debrid" from dropdown menu, instead choose Offcloud and enter the Offcloud API, which can be found in Accounts > API Key.

Once you try Stremio + Offcloud for a few days, it's time to go cord cutting.

"**NOTE: The guide suggests checking 'Don't show download to debrid links' – I recommend not checking this. By leaving it unchecked, you enable streaming even if the title isn't available, caching the file for others. If checked, you might see 'No streams available' if the file isn't cached, which disadvantages you and everyone else in the long term."

How can I tell if a file is cached and ready for instant streaming?
If the link shows [OC+] the file is cached, if it shows [OC-download], then it means you need to fetch it/cache it.

  • Is it recommended to use a VPN with Offcloud, RD, etc?

    • +1

      who cares lol

i've used stremio for years and pirated for much longer and have never received a warning from any isp ever

    • +6

no point using VPN with debrid services as whatever you are streaming from them is an html address and fully encrypted so no one will ever know what you are streaming

    • +1

      No

Theres more discussion over on reddit

    I am getting invalid OffcloudApiKey/Token

I used the key that I bought. Where am i getting it wrong?

    • You're meant to redeem the key on the site, in the shop section after signing up.
The API key needed is located under account settings.

    • +1

The key that StackSocial give is for you to input in your account at OffCloud to get premium access (enter code under 'Shop' I think it is, it tells you what to do on your StackSocial order).

Once your OffCloud account is activated with that key you should use the API key in your OffCloud dash in your Torrentio setup.

If you have already installed the Torrentio addon, I suggest doing it again by going to the Torrentio config URL, unchecking that option, then hit the install button. Then go into your Stremio Addons > My Addons > Uninstall the second last (Torrentio OC) profile. Now, fetch/stream links should appear for every title :)

    • +1

absolutely this. All guides around suggest to uncheck the RD download links but I found myself looking for stuff which was not cached on RD. If any of the RD Download linka have any seeds , you click on one of them, wait for some time (few minutes to few hours depending on how many seeds it has) and soon enough you'll find it available to watch

Real-debrid is still going to be the go they have market share and speeds that are unmatched in my experience.

I can play 4k Blu-Ray remuxs in Dolby vision and atmos
At $50 a year it covers everything.

  • Hey, thanks for posting. I had no idea about these services. While I didn't go for this as it seems to only have new stuff, the comments led me to Debrid. I'm a happy man. Cheers

  • +2

I used OC in the past. Their cache was non-existent and download speeds were very slow. Also no direct integration with Rclone as far as I know, if that matters to you. I would stick with RD.

  • +1

The lack of cache is more related to money saving efforts rather than a lack of users. The platform could cache as much as it wants regardless if someone plays it.

  • +1

Thanks for this. Makes sense for newer stuff.

This statement is the key to a good experience. Thanks Op

  • Any way to auto delete the downloaded content from our offcloud account? I have to do it manually, else it will consume the storage space.

    • In the cloud view, select "View as:" is Table instead of Timeline, and there appears a "Delete all items" button in the view.

Grabbed this and set up with Stremio as a first time user. Found that 99% of the stuff I tried to open on my GoogleTV's didn't work and gave me this error "Switching to libVLC due to a playback error".

After a couple of hours of trying everything conceivable and downloading multiple external players I couldn't get it to work. I tried signing up and setting up Real Debrid for a month for ~$6 AUD and it works right away. On my laptop its hit in miss with roughly a third of streams working. With Real Debrid so far, everything I try to stream works right away on all devices.

Tested with Google TV, Chromecast 4k with Google TV and Windows 11.

A bit disappointing but I will continue to play around with it. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

Try clicking on [OC+] 1080p links. OC+ means the file is cached/immediately available), if it shows [OC-download], then it means you need to fetch it/cache it. OC doesn't cache as many as Real-Debrid and their servers take a longer time to cache it. Mostly all new titles are available on OC. If you want it all, then a monthly sub to RD is best.

      • Even links with OC+ don't work unfortunately. I've tried 4k, 1080 and 720p. Results are getting worse on W11 with and without VPN. Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that RD is really good though everything just works.

        • Perhaps bad connection from ISP to Offcloud?
Try downloading file directly, goto Offcloud > Cloud > Download file.
          I'm getting about 5MB/s.

          • @noshopping: I have real debrid and offcloud setup in streamio and I haven't gotten an OC+ link to play in my android app yet when RD+ links are playing no worries.

    • If you’re using a vpn , try turning it off.

    • This issue can be easily resolved. See my detailed post below.

  • Cost me $60.05 aud via revolut doesn't look like you can avoid the handling fee as far as I can tell but can definitely avoid the tax. my state was Oregon.

This whole thing is entirely foreign to me, and I will I'm due course perform further research, but can someone confirm that I have the general idea down pat…

This is an app, that I can browse content (a la Netflix), and initiate what is essentially a Torrent of the content to a remote cache, then I can watch it? What sort of delay is associated in general terms?

I recently installed a 3rd party script that enables my Plex users to easily set in motion fetching browsed content via SABnzbd/sonarr/radarr which I've found handy. But of course the NZB route has its own associated costs (I've never used torrents as a first pick source for content, usually only when DMCA nukes particular shows etc).

So this solution (not necessarily with this provider as many have mentioned new content only), would essentially remove any reliance on Plex, as well as locally stored content right?

    • There’s no delay. Torrentio just searches for torrents and then displays links to content to stream. Previously I used Kodi add ons but Torrentio works much faster.

Any deals on a Real Debrid sub?

    • +1

real debrid has never gone on sale. Probably because it's already ridiculously cheap.

  • +1

Just get real-debrid to be honest. $50/year and has by the far the best cache out of all debrid services. (which is what really matters when it comes to this stuff). Premiumize is arguably better, but real-debird is cheaper and more popular thus has a far greater cache of content available.

Yeah sure it's not lifetime, but the amount of value you get is insane regardless. Cancel all your streaming subs and enjoy.

    • Nah, all the shows I’ve wanted to watch so far have been cached. And even if I did need to download a show, to avoid an ongoing subscription fee, I don’t mind waiting 20 mins for the download while I watch a different show. Plus, the more people that subscribe to Offcloud, the better the caching will be.

    • Competition is good, but agree I will keep paying RD, if you factor in the bonus days it's about $3.80 AUD per month, a Coffee costs more in Sydney.
On the 180 plan you get 800 points, every 1000 points you can convert to 30 days under my account.

  • ozbargain doesn't allowed piracy posts, except for paid piracy 🤡

Speak for yourself. I've been using real-debrid to stream my completely legal collection of Linux ISO's.

  • Has anybody gotten it working with streamio on android? I am hitting a brick wall they keep failing to play, but my RD+ links work no problems.

    • I've gotten it to work on Android TV, but I'm experiencing frequent buffering.

      • Can you try a smaller file size ? Some of the files are like 60 GB and I don’t think it automatically downgrades the quality. You need to select a source with lower resolution / quality.

        • +1

File was fairly small (~1.70gb for a 50min episode in 1080p), and I can usually handle streaming torrents of that size with Stremio (as long as they have a decent amount of seeds).
I haven't tried again today, so I might try it before pointing the blame at OffCloud.

          • @CartoonPizza: So sorry ignore me .. I forgot this discussion was about OffCloud.

            • +1

              @Savas: Ah okay, no worries.
I did end up trying it again today and it worked fine, so I don't know if it was an OffCloud issue or a network issue on my end.

      • I have gotten it working on androidtv but straight android it won't work at all. Same streamio account. So strange. Real debrid on both works no problems.

        • Same here. Must admit RD might take the win here. Caching coverage is way better. $26 for 6 months seems reasonable

          • @julz15: Yeah i did the math awhile ago it averages out to $46 a year when you look at it over 2.87ish years with the way the point system works. Its a pretty good deal for how well it works, it is about what i was paying for usenet but I needed a computer full of hard drives using electricity as well.

    • Yes, I am streaming 4K with zero buffering. See my detailed post below on how to handle network issues and buffering.

  • For anyone using real-debrid, what CDN setting do you use? I found automatic(syd) buffering sometimes.

    • AUTO, never had a single buffering issue but I am use either FireTV 4k Max or FireCube, as I find the interface more responsive than my SonyTV and likely the device itself is more powerful than the TV,

  • I am just wondering how fast of a internet speed should I get to ensure smooth streaming. After reading through all the comments,I will just pay for Real Debrid instead of this offcloud.

Ps. I am currently on 50/20mbps

    • +1

Both since you can install multiple torrentio instances
R-D sub since its the best and literrally has EVERYTHING.
OC for backup in periods where you don't renew sub. It's nowhere near as good as R-D but it's lifetime and has all the new stuff.

You can register for a OC account and try free 3 streams to test it out.

      • Thank you, I might actually go down this route.

Will 50/20mpbs be sufficient or do I need to upgrade my internet speed?

        • +1

50/20mpbs should be sufficient. I would try it first without payment, nothing to lose except 10mins of your time.

        • It comes down to the files you want to play.

No you won’t go close to playing uncompressed 4k movies with your internet.

If you want to just play 1080p rips it will be fine.

I would suggest limiting the file size to 30gb or smaller with your internet.

    • For sure, it works for me in hotels on their networks. I take my FireTV Stick everywhere.

  • Thanks OP. Got it working on Google TV.

  • +1

Bought. Too slow and constant buffering

    • no buffering for me on all 1080p streams. do you buffer on 1080p or 4K? make sure to choose [OC+] links and not [OC-download]

      • 1080p. Could you share the torrentio configuration that you are using?

        • Just the same config as what was described on that Reddit page. Try turning on/off VPN. Try on Desktop PC (not Google TV). If still slow, then try R-D. If that is still slow then could be your ISP.

    • This. Constantly buffering compare to RD. Save the money, unlike me, and just stick to RD

    • I get completely smooth 4K streaming. See my post below for tips on handling network issues and buffering.

  • +1

Aside from OP, anyone else get smooth 1080p streaming?

    • +1

      Nope 😅

I'm getting some weird results. On android Stremio I get inconsistent results but can often stream buffer free for files that are like 1.6GB per hour or less (eg. 30 min episode 800MB). On windows Stremio I can pretty much max out my internet speed occasionally ( ~10GB per hour).

Some files that can load instantly on windows stremio, won't ever load on android stremio. Pasting the direct stream link into windows VLC works really well for me, it might take 10 seconds or so to load but then no buffering. Pasting the direct stream link into VLC on android, takes a very long time load but does appear to eventually play without buffering, or at least buffering waaaaaayyyy less than playing through stremio. Also this is not using VLC as an external player because that goes through stremio.

Obviously RD is far better, but most people should be able to get decent results with offcloud, there is just something weird going on. If you download directly from offcloud you can test the download speed of the exact file, which is the speed that file should be able to buffer at from the server to stremio, but for some reason just…isn't (on android at least).

Also if you find that you occasionally get a "Playback error" message on stremio, even if the link is cached "[OC+]", I think I have figure out why. I believe it is because the file is stored on Offcloud servers as a folder or zip file as opposed to an individual .mkv or .mp4 etc. Offcloud clearly have no system in place to isolate or extract the video file when requested by stremio, so when stremio goes to play it, it's not actually accessing a video file and throws an error. As far as I can tell, there is nothing you can do about it other than try to find another source, or manually going to offcloud, clicking on the file in the cloud section, and then copying the download link next to the file for the corresponding video file. Looking at the API, someone could make script (or update torrentio) to handle this but I don't think offcloud isn't popular enough for it to have been done yet.

      • Interesting. Perhaps why I never had any stremio stream issues is because I just use Windows. Never tested it in Android/other devices.

      • The error "Switching to libVLC due to a playback error” is a network error. Make sure you have whitelisted your IP address/es in Offcloud. See my post below for further details.

    • I get completely smooth 4K streaming on my Google TV. See my post below for further details.

      • Yeah I appreciate your write up :) I too found that using a VPN provided the best results, especially on mobile devices. I weirdly found that on windows stremio I didn't require a VPN to get great results.

I agree a US VPN seems to provide the best general use case for loading content. I made a script that looks at the location of the Offcloud server and sets my VPN to that location which is giving me the best results, but that doesn't integrate with stremio obviously.

        • Any chance you could collaborate with Torrentio to retrieve and display the location of the Offcloud server for each torrent :) ?

          • @pebblewave: The Offcloud API is pretty garbo but workable and does provide that information. Torrentio would be able to display it but I don't think there would be a way to dynamically change your VPN though, because each VPN app works differently and would require a different configuration if the app even supports scripting.

Also with constantly changing IP addresses you have to clear your whitelisted IPs pretty frequently which I haven't figured out how to do with their API which makes it a hassle.

            • @Castcore: Would it be possible to provide a breakdown of server locations for the top 100 movie/TV torrents?

E.g. Offcloud hosts the top 100 torrents in the US (60%), Germany (20%) and the UK (10%)?

Or is the location of the content determined dynamically based on the user’s location (e.g. US users served from the US, Australian users served from Australia or a nearby regional hub e.g. HK, Singapore)?

If it were possible, then users could simply set their 3 whitelisted IP addresses to servers in the 3 most popular countries.

By default, users could use the most popular location (the US in my example). If users found that a particular torrent was slow, they could switch to a VPN server in the next most popular location (Germany in my example).

I suspect location of hosted torrents is highly concentrated (a handful of countries should account for 90%+ of the content), aligned with the locations in which it’s cheapest to host content.

Although an inconvenience, manually switching VPN servers is pretty quick, so quickly trying different VPN servers could be a good solution for many people.

              • +1

@pebblewave: I'm not sure how they determine where to cache content, but for your reference I have only come across content located on the following servers.

                Fr - France
                Fi - Finland
                De - Germany
                Ca - Canada

The distribution of the stuff I have clicked on seems to be pretty even for all of them. You can't look at the top 100 movies/shows because each movie and show have different torrents for them which will all be housed on different servers.

If I had to take a guess I would say that they have servers in all the locations that they offer their proxy service, but I've personally only found content cached in the four countries I mentioned above.

Based on my basic testing with PIA I get the best overall performance using the US West Streaming Optimised server as my VPN.

                • +1

@Castcore: Haha so strange. Why would streaming from the US be fastest if most content is in Europe. A mystery for now but at least we know which VPN servers to connect to :) Thanks for the info @Castcore

I spent today doing some more testing and I made a shortcuts script for iOS users to be able to hook into the API and copy the download links for stuff they have in their cloud. So they can click on the movie etc and it will open and stream in vlc.

My testing has been weird though. I found that on iOS VLC, downloading directly from offcloud servers on my home internet the download would not exceed 350KB/s, this would explain the buffering issues. Weirdly though when I switched on a VPN, after about 30 seconds the speed bumped up maxing out my internet speed of ~6MB/s. I tested it again after turning off the VPN, the download had failed because of the network change, and restarting it would not exceed 350KB/s.
On my android device I used the Free Download Manager app on my normal home network and downloaded the exact same video using the same url directly from the offcloud servers. Immediately my download speed climbed to ~6MB/s maxing out my internet. Couldn't test it on android VLC because I don't seem to have the option to download on there.

As I mentioned previously, using windows, everything works fine, so I can only assume there is something going on with mobile devices or how offcloud handles mobile connections versus other types of devices.

For those having issues with buffering I would recommend trying a VPN and seeing if that helps. Obviously that's counter intuitive, but maybe it masks that you're using a mobile device or something on offclouds side of things, for whatever reason it seems to fix buffering issues for me on mobile devices.

    • Which country on your VPN gave better results?

      • The US. Make sure to whitelist your IP address/es (see my post below for further info).

  • +1

For those that have an iOS device, I made a shortcut script that allows you to access the direct download links of items in your cloud. It will then copy the link to your clipboard and attempt to open it as a stream in VLC media player. You can modify it to open in other apps if you want, or just remove that part of the script.
Here is the link to the shortcut setup

You’ll still have to use something like Stremio to add it to your Offcloud cloud before it will show up though.

    • +1

I too signed up and have been testing with and without VPN with various results.

Sometimes the service seems solid, then others its incredibly slow… I also think their "cache" needs to "warm up" as I will hit a link thats in their cache and upon the initial download its slow.. but if i hit it again some time later its alot faster…

All in all the service seems to be somewhat hit or miss which leads me to saying that this is an unreliable service.

I would definitely save your $$ and just use real-debrid or premiumize

      • Yeah for sure, I've been getting mixed results but have found that mobile devices need a VPN to get the best experience (US VPN helps a lot). My desktop devices seem to have no issues on a cached link.

I just want to reiterate for anyone that didn't see my earlier message, the main reason I negged this was because it cannot reliably add torrents to your cloud, sometimes they work, other times they just throw errors and never get added. There's also plenty of other things that don't seem to work or are "temporarily disabled". But for basic stremio use, you can probably make it work especially if you find cached links. Might be worth it for some, but certainly not the same experience you'd get with a different debrid provider.

  • +5

Firstly, thank you so much for posting this deal. This is a real game changer.

I have installed Stremio with Offcloud on our TV (running Google TV) and am streaming 4K content with zero buffering. I need a VPN to achieve this, see below.

I’ve read all the comments and want to address some points and concerns.

    • (1) Torrentio add-on

In one of their posts, @noshopping suggests that users “go into your Stremio Addons > My Addons > Uninstall the second last (Torrentio OC) profile”.

Be very careful with this, as Torrentio OC is the correct addon for streaming via Offcloud.

If you uninstall ‘Torrentio OC’, and all you are left with is ‘Torrentio Lite’ in your addons section, then you are not streaming from Offcloud (nor any other Real-Debrid alternative). The Torrentio Lite addon is for streaming via torrent/P2P connection. Be very careful about doing this without a VPN.

I suggest that the only Torrentio addon you should have is ‘Torrentio OC’. This is the correct app for streaming via Offcloud.

    • (2) libVLC error on GoogleTV / Android TV

Some Google TV / Android TV users have reported that, once Torrentio is installed and connected to Offcloud, attempting to stream any content is met with the error "Switching to libVLC due to a playback error”.

This is a network connection error. It has nothing to do with codecs, media players, hardware acceleration etc.

This issue is resolved by connecting to a VPN. This suggests that RSPs/ISPs are blocking connections to Offcloud.

If you connect via a VPN and still encounter a network issue, see Point 3 (below).

    • (3) Whitelist your IP address/es

Offcloud only allows connections from 3 IP addresses per account. If your IP address isn’t whitelisted, you will encounter network errors when trying to stream.

The 3 IP addresses should be defined by logging into your Offcloud Portal > Account > Account Security > IP Addresses.

If you’re using a VPN, then keep in mind that many VPN applications use a ‘quick connect’ feature that connects you to the fastest server. This can result in frequent changes to your IP address.

To circumvent this issue, you may wish to whitelist and use one or two particular VPN servers for accessing Stremio/Offcloud.

    • (4) Buffering / slow connection

When connected to any Australian VPN server, I can stream 1080p content with zero buffering. However, any 4K content buffers every 10 seconds and is unwatchable.

This issue is resolved by whitelisting and connecting to a United States VPN server. By doing this, I can stream 4K content with zero buffering.

This suggests that Offcloud’s content distribution system serves Australia poorly but, unsurprisingly, serves the large US market well. In this case, having a decent US VPN server is crucial.

    • Nice tips!

In one of their posts, @noshopping suggests that users “go into your Stremio Addons > My Addons > Uninstall the second last (Torrentio OC) profile”.

When you load the torrentio configuration again and hit Install, you end up with 2x instances of the Torrentio plugin installed. This is why I said uninstall the second last one. Because the latest torrentio plugin + config would remain. Having multiple torrentio addons/plugins installed allows you to use multiple providers (e.g. Real-Debrid + Offcloud + others etc)

      • Makes sense. Just as long as users know they should be left with ‘Torrentio OC’ and not ‘Torrentio Lite’ :)

        • +1

Thanks again @noshopping for posting this deal. Thanks to @pebblewave for above info which has helped with the issues I've had.

          In summary:
          * OC doesn't cache as much content as other Debrid services. Not an issue if it is fairly new content.
          * You may need to Whitelist your IP addressses.
          * Some have noted slow speeds for content that isn't cached.
          * Content you watch even if it is cached counts to your Cloud allowance which is 50GB. If you get a red screen saying access denied, its because you have gone beyond this limit and need to logon via a browser and delete content you are no longer watching. This could be annoying if you are watching a lot of 4k Bluray rips.

If you are okay with the above or just want a back up, this is a great deal!

If you don't want the hassle, go with Real Debrid which would be roughly is about 26ish bux for 6 months (longest running plan) but you don't need to be concerned with my notes above.

The answer to the above questions defines what kind of OzBargainer you are lol

edit: Lifetime is 100 years or when they closedown, whichever comes first.

          • @MrJohnnyB: Oh I didn’t think cached content counts towards the 50GB limit? There seems to be contradictory information on that point. If so, that sucks, as the limit is too low to begin with.

I should add that if you want or need a free, unlimited, unrestricted US VPN for Offcloud, Proton VPN offers this. Unlike every other free, unlimited, unrestricted VPN, Proton VPN will not exploit, leak, misuse or sell your data.

            • @pebblewave: Yep, I was getting "Access denied. Please check if you have a valid Debrid subscription" for days until I found a reddit post complaining about this. I checked Offcloud and it showed I had 0 usage left under cloud and once I deleted a bunch of stuff, OC+ content started to work. I tried a show that only had "OC Download" but it didn't work and when checking OC it showed an error. It worked fine through RD though.

              • @MrJohnnyB: I think if you exceed 50GB of manually downloaded (non-cached) content, it stops you viewing everything including cached content.

But I think if you have less than 50GB of manual downloads, then cached content should work (no matter how large the cached download is).

    • how do you whitelist your VPN's ip address? Don't they have tons per country and would constantly change every time you log in?

  • Whats the difference between this and just using pirate addons in stremio? Im not seeing any advantages so far.

    • When using P2P, the speed and reliability of your streaming is entirely dependent on the number and quality of the torrent’s seeders.

When using Offcloud, if the content is cached, you have a reliable connection to the content.

      In other words:
      - P2P = your content will probably buffer a whole bunch
      - Offcloud = reliable connection, no buffering

      • To add onto this, people use popular debrid services like real debrid, alldebrid, premiumize, in the same way Offcloud is being used (it is technically a debrid service). Which have many high speed servers that can serve the cached content typically at your internets maximum speed, making the streaming process quick and reliable.

It has an added benefit of not requiring a VPN service because you are downloading from private servers, not a torrent peer to peer swarm.

Do keep in mind though, that while that is the intended effect, Offcloud seems to serve Australia pretty poorly/unreliability for certain users so unlike the services I mentioned up top, you might not have the best time with Offcloud.

        • While RD-like services may not ‘require’ a VPN, that doesn’t mean accessing them without a VPN is possible or straightforward.

Per my post above, based on my own experience, it appears my RSP/ISP may be blocking connections to Offcloud. That suggests RSPs/ISPs may block/limit connections to other RD services. (Though I note most people report no issues connecting to Real-Debrid.)

Regarding Offcloud serving Australia poorly; yes that’s true. However, Offcloud serves the US market at high speed. So if you have a decent US VPN connection, you will have no issue streaming from Offcloud via a US VPN.

      • So if I use public P2P torrents and they serve me well (since it is all current popular media), debrid services are redundant for my use case?

        • Yes, public P2P over VPN is fine for your particular use case.

However, a note for others; it is highly unlikely that P2P will serve you well over the long term. You will encounter connection reliability issues when you inevitably decide you want to view content with a seed count relatively lower than the most current popular media. This is where an RD-like service provides value, and for $60 lifetime, why one Earth wouldn’t you.

  • Thought I'd give it a go for the price. Tried a few TV shows and none of them were cached so it started downloading them. The downloads were stuck at 0% for a while before eventually being marked as 'error'. Is there something I need to do to get these to work?
I tried some popular tv shows which were cached and these worked OK.
Maybe it's OK for very popular current TV shows but nowhere near as good as RD.

    • Yeah this was the primary reason I negged the deal, not because it's a bad deal, but because offcloud doesn't work for my use cases. I host my own Plex and Jellyfin server so don't need the streaming options, but it's super handy to have something to idle a slow torrent and then be able to download to my own devices at full speed. Offcloud sometimes works when I add a new torrent, but most of the time throws random errors with no way to know why it won't cache them. I don't think there's anything you can do to force it to work, some are just hit and miss.

It's funny because on the contrary, real debrid seems to magically be able to find peers for low seed torrents and grab them much faster than I can. Often if I have a slow torrent that's maxing out less than 1MB/s, I'll add it to real debrid and it will somehow download to the servers at +30MB/s. For high seed stuff it often downloads at GB/s to the cache.

I'd put this down to client side (your end) or region and region of peers.

  • It worked on day 1 after going through a lengthy setup process, but has never worked since ("Playback error, please try again").

No refund available and looks like it'll take quite a bit more work to get it working again.

    Money down the drain.

On the website check to see if your cloud limit is full, if you have reached the 50GB limit then nothing will work, you will have to clear some content. Stuff that is already cached (oc+) doesn't count towards your 50GB but wont work if your 50GB has been reached.

The other thing is, you can only have 3 IP addresses associated with your account. Go to settings and security to see if you have reached the limit and clear them. This is only really an issue if you're using a VPN or have a dynamic IP. Use US VPN for best experience.

      I had the same issue.
I tried fix #3 in pebblewave's post above and now working fine. It is OK for 1080p content, 4K buffers a lot…
Got realdebrid now and it just works all the time, prolly should've gone down that route first.. 🤷‍♂️
