    Since Chemist Warehouse is listed under the "Hair & Beauty" card, and these Special Cards are like credit cards in the smartphone wallet, will the Hair & Beauty card be accepted for paying for prescription medicines at Chemist Warehouse? Should be OK, I think?

          I can't guarantee coz I've never bought it, but at least with the Woolies one I could buy a Wish gift card in-store, and similarly the Super Shopper at Big W/Target. So I would suspect it works the same (prepaid debit card that's merchant-locked)

            @highwind: Ok. But I hope I won't need to swap out at all. Since the Hair & Beauty card is accepted at Chemist Warehouse, and it's a prepaid card, it shouldn't matter what I'm buying. With the Chemist Warehouse-branded e-gift cards that I previously had, it didn't matter what I bought—-prescription meds or beauty products were all OK. Let's see!

              @dlee: Yes you are right, you shouldn't need to swap. Stores do not usually use multiple Category Codes at their payment terminal and your card in turn does not know what you have purchased. This means you can purchase anything at Chemist Warehouse and it should work on that card.

              @dlee: You don't need to swap, but if you don't swap, you need to take the risk of Special dropping out some brands randomly.
              Just like the Special Super Shopper card, they dropped Coles/WW suddenly without providing any reason.
              It's all about actual discount rate VS risk management.

    Was looking forward to this since I couldn’t get any of my debit cards to work on the Coles prepaid Mastercard deal… and now Special decided to enforce a $10 cap per account which is bait advertising and didn’t mention at all in their initial ad

    $10 cap makes this pretty ridiculous, especially when coupled with eliminating their most useful gift card.
    And "first 1500 account holders"… Does this mean the first 1500 people in history who made an account??
    I must say it absolutely astounds me the creativity of some companies to own goal so hard that it instantly vaporises any remaining reputation/customer goodwill…

    I feel sorry for OP to get so many negs when they got duped…
