  • Did anyone receive tax invoice for online order?
Delivered yesterday but no invoice is coming through by email.

    • Just wait til status change to shipped. It will show in your apple account under the order number.

      • Status state "Delivered" but link only have Invoice Receipt (Items will be invoiced once they have shipped or are ready for pickup) and not actuall tax receipt with ABN like usual.

        • I also did not receive a tax invoice from Apple which they would normally send upon shipping for my MBP order back in Jan. I’m not sure if it ended up in spam and ultimately got deleted but I don’t think so. Check your spam box and if it’s not there then contact Apple.

          • @FrugalNotStingy: Yeah it is weird.
Never happend with all previous purchases, received all other email like applecare etc.
            Will call them up.

            • @lufee: Same, got the apple care email and apple gift card but no invoice. Usually receive the invoices when the order is shipped. Also there should be a tax invoice for the free gift card too.

  • So is this deal 1999 for the M3 15 inch MacBook air with the further gift card making it effectively 1759?

    • +2

Yes for about three months ending yesterday

  • So I received my 15” MBA on launch day on 08/03 and I just checked and my “7 day” complimentary AppleCare+ expires on 22/03, a full two weeks after the day is was shipped.

Will I still be able to get the 20% off AC+ for education store purchases for this?

    • yes - i would've thought that someone with your supposed reputation should already know? :)

  • Who's here ordered Macbook air 15" 512GB SSD with 16GB?
As mine still in transit from China - through Hong Kong - and now in Sydney DHL sorting center…

What's interesting is, I received the 7-day complimentary apple care+ straight after it shipped from China.
I contacted Apple support, they said this is to cover the shipping - although if it turns out to be more than 7 days shipping time; it will still be covered.

I wish the 7-day complimentary apple care+ starts once the MBA delivered at destination; I guess, it's a complimentary thing anyway, I shouldn't be complaining…

    • Hey BigLeviathen, I ordered the same, was torn between getting the 512GB SSD and 1TB SSD, but ended up getting the 512 GB SSD.

Mine's showing that it left Hong Kong on 19th Mar, and is now in Sydney. Hasn't been delivered to me yet, but the original estimated date of arrival is 21st Mar.

I noticed on the "7-Day Complimentary AppleCare+ Proof of Coverage" email, it says coverage is until 30th March so if the delivery date is spot on, then should still be covered for 7 days after receiving the laptop.

      • Mine left HK 19 March too;
This afternoon, it arrived in Melbourne, hopefully it is delivered either tomorrow or Friday :)

        • Thanks for info, :-) Arrived in my city yesterday 8am-ish, must have missed the courier leaving the depot, as it’s not being delivered until today. Can’t wait to get it!

          • @jayvey: I missed the delivery yesterday (the only day that I went to the office); got it this morning and thrilled to open the box once I finish work….

    • Ordered a 13" Air (16/512) on the very last day of the promotion. I did note that due to Australian laws on upselling warranty, the 20% discount for AppleCare+ applies till 23/03 for purchases made within the promotion period.

Laptop got delivered on the 19th; I only set it up today and the complimentary AppleCare+ coverage shows expiry on 31/03.

No way of purchasing it before it expires, so I might have to call Apple and see if I can purchase it over the phone or in store to get the 20% discount.

        • My 7-day complimentary ends on 29 March (received the MBA yesterday), I suspect I can only go to store and get the 20% Apple care+ discount by then?

Also is it really worth getting apple care+? Been thinking to use it for something else instead (e.g. airpod)

          Thanks

@BigLeviathan: If you always take your mac to and from work/uni or a clumsy person then yes, AppleCare+ is worth it. If you’re worried about the MacBook gets broken down within the next three years then not really because we have the ACL which should get you covered.

      • Calling won’t get you the 20% discount. A lot of us tried and the most discount they could give is 10% off. Their system don’t allow the reps to override it.

        • Apple Store said they could only do 10% but calling should get me the 20%; and they suggested I definitely call today.

          Called.

The support person I spoke with said could see that the device was purchased under the education offer, and the corresponding 20% discount on AppleCare+ ends today (23/03); however they couldn't sell me AppleCare+ for this device till the complimentary AppleCare+ had expired. Said they understood that with the device being delivered only on 19/03, there's no way I'd have been able to purchase AppleCare+ today even if the laptop was set up on the same day because the coverage would still be valid. Issued me a case number and suggested I call back on Monday as the team this would get escalated to only works Mon-Fri.

This person seemed of the view that given I purchased the device under the promotion period, and it is Apple's internal business rules that meant I couldn't be sold AppleCare+ today (the law only requires 4 days between purchase of goods and insurance upsell); that they should be able to extend the 20% offer once my device is elible to be sold AppleCare+

Will see how this plays out.

          • @cbrbargainer: Fellow Ozbargainers including myself purchased MacBooks during earlier in the promotion failed to get the 20% discount over the phone. They all resorted to purchasing their 20% off AppleCare+ in the Apple Store. I asked the phone support why they weren’t able to offer the 20% and they said it’s what listed in their system and there was no way to override it even after they asked their manager. They told me only the Apple stores could do the 20% promotion so they told me to go to the store to get the discount.

Maybe your case is different and hope it works out for you. Fingers crossed.

  • Anyone used ShopBack and successful with the cashback for the MacBook Air M3?

I never had any issues with tracking with Apple but this one didn’t track and ShopBack just gave me generic excuse of things I may have done for it not to track. I think most likely Apple rejected it as most likely this should be excluded just they never update their terms.

    • Yep. Nothing here too. Not even tracked.

    • I submitted an enquiry with shopback, currently still pending their review.

      • It’s been rejected by shopback with the excuse that I didn’t click their website before.

Definitely an issue on their end, the fact I’ve clicked their website multiple times before ordering the mba OR they just don’t want to do the payout and being shifty…

I have received the macbook air and the tax invoice from Apple.

    I bought macbook air M3 15" 512MB 16GB.
    I paid $2599.
When I checked the tax invoice, the total tax invoice is $2359 inc GST (which basically deducted with the $240 giftcard).

Does yours shown the same? as I think this is incorrect, the tax invoice should have said $2599 as the $240 gift card is a promo and not the macbook air price itself
