Hoping a 7500F and 4060 deal comes through.

7800x3d please sir i am a thirsty boy

    • ditto

  • What's wrong with your 14700 build?

    • I'm not sure, I've asked the mods. Edit - I mucked up the price, will fix.

  • The Case Dimensions: 260mm (h) x 125mm (w) x 200mm (l) is small !
What GPU length would fit? Would 6800XT fit?
    Thanks

  • How many ram slots in 14700 one?

    • The Asus Prime B760M has 4

  • +1

Would the 12100f deal be swappable to a 12100 with no dedicated GPU?

    • +2

Not through us sorry - we're clearing stock. You could do post purchase and sell the RX 550 I suppose but probably not what you mean

  • Hi, How long does it take to get the computer after placing the order? I am in sunshine coast.

    • We're estimating 5-10 business days at present.

  • +1

Hey I ordered the Ryzen 5 7500F version, what's the difference between that and the Ryzen 7 5700X3D above? If I wanted to switch is it possible?

    • +4

I'd stick with the 7500F one. AM5 platform has potential future upgrade path, and DDR5 instead of DDR4. There is a mistake in the listing stating DDR5.

      • This is my opinion too (and I've correct the RAM line thanks)

      • -5

6 corez in 2024, you will live like a peasant and you will like it

        -Mr Schwab(probably)

fugging business laptops have more corez

      • Thank you for the explanation!

  • +1

Amazing how cheap a full build now for just $399! Will RX550 able to run Cyberpunk?

    • +1

25-30 fps on low according to YouTube benchmark videos.

    • +2

Best kept to older gen games/Esports titles/720p kind of resolution tbh

    • Its more for web browsing and light office work or plex.
It wouldn't run recent AA games.

  • Hi, could you please advise what PSU comes with the "Intel Core i3-12100F RX 550 4GB Desktop/Light Gaming PC"? Looking to work out what GPU I could swap in later. Cheers

    • +1

It's a 400W unit preinstalled in the case, a 1U form factor unit.

  • placed my order last week, Order #TF4881612959 - 28th Feb 2024. hope it will be ready and posted this week maybe?

    • +1

I think most likely next week for the ITX systems. They'll be produced in one large run as it was a large volume of orders in a short time.

  • +1

Anyone have an idea of how the 12100f + rx550 itx build would go as an emulation box? I'm guessing it wouldn't push anything past the PS3/xb360 ish, or would it manage the next gen?

    • +1

Depends if you want to run at 480p resolution

    • +5

It's going to struggle with PS3/360, PS3 is difficult to emulate and AMD gpus aren't good for xbox 360 emulation in general (at least on Xenia).

The RX550 was $100 on release in 2017 and was targeted at entry level gaming even then. It's really not much of a GPU. It's about a third of the speed of the PS4 GPU, even before you hit the emulation layer it needs to deal with.

      • +2

Great reply - thanks @freefall101. Always been a pc gamer, so clearly a little out of touch with console specs

      • Anywhere you recommend that routinely does itx builds with comparable prices.

        • Nowhere routinely does pricing like this, just need to keep an eye out for clearances. They pop up from time to time (like this one from last year - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/814109 ).

This is really great pricing for this machine, despite being a potato GPU. I'm tempted to buy one just on the hope of finding a decent single fan GPU down the track, it can replace my 8th gen SFF in the meantime.

  • +1

Hi, could you please advise the ports on the RX550? How many HDMI, DP ports does it have?

  • +8

Hi Luke, it’s close to 15 business days since placing order on the last deal [Order #TF4880634702]. Still yet to complete build and ship and was advised by Caleb that the missing power supply would arrive a few days ago. No updates since. Can you help follow up?
Also I wasn’t aware that deals can be posted on Ozbargain with missing parts and low supply. As a suggestion, best to advise if critical parts are either missing or not in supply before deals are listed. Thanks in advance.

    • +5

I think a bit more transparency on build ETAs or a way to check progress of the order would build more trust. It's not ideal when an estimate of 5-10 business days is suggested but then it hits 15 days and there are more Techfast deals posted for the same config for cheaper before yours has even been shipped…

    • +3

      Yep.. day 13 here.

      • You can't honestly think there wouldn't be a chance though? Look at the history about TechFast's delivery times and posts.

I ordered one and it came as described within the time frame, YMMV……..obviously….

  • +1

Hey guys, friend is after a mid range pc - got any last gen amd/intel deals coming up with a 4060ti/4070/7700xt/7800xt?
After a cheapish rig for 1440p gaming..

Alternatively, any chance of getting a better card in this ITX rig?

    • +1

Going by nVidia's share price, not likely to get too many deals soon. That said, I'm curious to see what the 7900 GRE price is when it finally hits Australia.

On the ITX rig, assuming there's a riser in there to hold a full height card one of these would work - https://www.jw.com.au/product/inno3d-geforce-rtx-4060-compac… - although probably need a PSU upgrade too from 400W. Otherwise 3060/2070 had some mini versions. At that point though, might as well just go a whole new rig designed to spec.

      • +1

Few stores have 7900 gre now umart mwave etc. cheapest one is $949 i think

        • +1

Cheers, that's pretty decently priced, particularly for anyone just interested in gaming and who doesn't really care for RT.

Here's hoping AMD sees their chance with with nVidia focusing on AI and really deliver some great value gamer GPUs. I'm probably dreaming though.

          • +2

@freefall101: They've already bowed out of the high end next gen. I think we'll see 10-20% lower pricing than Nvidia, but that's it.

Need Intel to up their game…

  • Hi everyone

I'm in the market for getting a entry level "gaming" pc and I would love you pick your genius brains. The last time I got a pc, Commodore 64's were state of the art! Ok, well maybe not that old. Its been at close to 10 years since my last pc, I've been nursing it for a little while and over the weekend my motherboard has started consistently beeping, so I think its time to looking about for a new toy.

Dont really get to do much gaming, the joys of having a 9yo, but no doubt I see Minecraft in my future, plus I want to play some stuff too, with my steam pile thats not been touched in years.

Otherwise used for mainly everyday stuff, emails, streaming, a little light adobe work (photoshop/indesign) .

So my big question is, this light gaming oc for $399, or hold out for something like the $599/$699 specials that Luke and the team had been putting together?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    • +5

The $399 one is a banger but mostly due to the size (physical size - it's tiny!). It's not going to perform very well in gaming as it is, you'd need to upgrade that GPU and potentially the CPU & cooler, but you're very limited by space as it really is a Small Form Factor build. If size is a big consideration I'd recommend doing some research and seeing if it's for you.

If you just want to get back into PC gaming with an entry level machine, I'd spend a bit more and wait until another $699/$799 deal pops up - similar to this one with a 12400F and a RTX 4060
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/833607

      • Good thinking JK82, thank you for your thoughts!

    • +1

As I saw a comment saying, no need to save hundreds for a pc you use everyday. Especially thats the only one or one you mainly use?

      • +1

        Wise words! :)

    • +1

Agree with the other comments here on spending a little more and get a 699/799 deal. It will give you much better performance out of the box, and much more options (and space) to upgrade later on. Few hundreds of $ savings isnt worth it. It would actually save ypu money in the long run

      • Guess I'm waiting and tinkering with my current dinosaur to stop the beeping! :) Thanks!

  • Hey Luke,

What z790 wifi board is the current upgrade in use?

  • +1

    Just want to comment:
I've received very good aftersales support from TF so far. Had a couple of issues (header cable broke in transit and fan issue), but Caleb and Zac have helped me to sort it out.

  • I got the 4070ti super/R5 7500f combo a couple months ago, very very satisfied. 4K DLSS quality at 60fps for every title, except maybe alan wake 2.

  • For the Ryzen 7 5700X3D | RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming PC, 16GB 3200MHz DDR5 RAM (D35G RGB in use), I think you may mean DDR4 there Luke.

  • Any information on the motherboard used for the 12100F-itx build…?

    • hmmm I presume its this one

      https://www.maxsun.com/products/ms-challenger-h610itx-2-5g

      the H610 supports only a single channel memory… and PCI-express 3.0

      Looks like its severely crippled…

      • 2x DDR4, Maximum Memory Capacity 64GB
        Memory Support DDR4 3200(OC)/ 2933(OC)/ 2666(OC)/ 2400(OC) MHz
        Supports Intel® XMP 2.0 OC
        Supports Dual-Controller Dual-Channel mode

  • The itx model is competing with the tiny refurb dell office PCs that have flooded the market for around $200.

  • -3

    Hi

The description of the $399 unit can be a bit confusing - first time I read it, I thought it had 4 Gig RAM, but in fact it has 16 Gig RAM.

    • Skill issue.

      • I doubt it. I've been building and fixing PCs for at least 25 years, with more referral work than I could handle.

Fact is, if someone not very familiar with building PCs (which is the target market of this post- because those who can buid PCs would never buy a built one, but would build it themselves if it'sfor theirown use) quickly looked at the title (not looking at the details) they could be easily confused.

        • Hi could you elaborate on "would never buy a built one"? I thought you could save a bit money and hassles by buying these pre built PCs? Other than no freedom to choose your own parts, the fun to build it yourself, and maybe some parts are not great quality ones in pre built, am I missing something here?

          • +1

@StephenCurry: I will offer a opposite point to BooYa..

I have been building for over 35 years…

Some of the prices offered by techfast for the completely built machine, is less than what I can buy the sum of the parts..
Obviously, they have economies of scale behind them with bulk pricing, use some of the cheapest parts avalable etc..

Even then, I finally couldn't resist one of their deals and bought this

            I bought this
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/794662

            Review here, with my thoughts..
            https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/itx-gaming-pc-tec…

The case "Leapear ITx" the ITX machine.. is simply gorgeous..

I have ordered a couple of these itx builds…. to muck around with..
            breakdown of prices (new retail)

            CPU 12100F - $139
            Motherboard - $150 ???
            Ram - $50
            SSD - $40
            Videocard - $30
thats $409, without the Case and powersupply..

Case and Powersupply.. easily another $150- $250 for the quality of the case..

            total around $420 delivered…

            No brainer at this price…

            1TB Gen4 NVMe m.2 SSD (ADATA Legend 800) - $109
750W 80+ Gold PSU (XPG and FSP in use in March) ??$100
MSI MAG Forge 320R Airflow case $101

            • @Kelvin: Hi thank you for the detailed reply! Have been kept forgetting to reply to you :) Yes that's what I feel too. Surely if someone can wait for a long time span and get everything on ATL, plus some discounted GCs (maybe buy parts from Amazon or eBay), and that may be close to their price? But again all the waiting for those deals of separate parts would be painful I think.

  • I reached out to your support last week about an order I placed on Feb 23rd, hoping for an ETA, and was told "expected times are 5-10 business days before dispatch".

Now that it's 10 business days, any chance of an update?

  • I'm interested in the $399 deal, however according to https://versus.com/en/asus-h170m-e-d3-vs-maxsun-challenger-h… this motherboard does not have a TPM connector. I understand that a TPM is required to support Windows 11.

    • The CPU has a built in TPM

      • Thanks :)

  • Hey Luke, does the Leaper-I ITX case have any front/top USB ports? I cannot see any in the photos at https://www.techfast.com.au/Intel-Core-i3-12100F-RX-550-4G-I…

    • No ports on the case, only on rear via MB

  • What PSU comes with the RX550 deal ?

  • Hi, Luke, when 12400f+ 4060 or 4060Ti come back, WE ALL need it!

  • Is there a way to have it come with no operating system installed? or an unactivated windows. Don't want linux mint and want to use my own windows code, also don't know how to swap linux to windows…

    • Load up Windows 11 installation on a USB and replace the Linux it comes with.

  • is the techfast website down for everyone

  • Is the Core i7-14700F | RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming PC a good deal? Haven't been following PC builds and a bit of a noob now days since having kids :(

Going to be playing new games so would be nice to get something nice

    • Yes it's quite a good deal, very fast cpu and very fast gpu

  • Why would you pick a R7-5700X3D over the ryzen 5 7500f? Everything ive read says the ryzen 5 7500f is better. Am I missing something?

    • if you were going to harvest the machine for parts.. I think the 5700X3d is a better machine..
if you are buying to use.. the the 7500F, obviouslly have a much better future path for upgrades..

the motherboard supplied with the 7500F.. is pretty junky…
the motherboard suplied with the 5700X3d is mid range very decent board..

  • Maxsun’s H610i is the best H-mobo. 12 phases power allows you to go for a 12600k. Dual M2, pretty descent IO, ok-ish BIOS. Best from the Chinese factories. Sad this build only comes with a 12100.

  • @luketechfast

Hi Luke, hope you're having a great day, I recently ordered the following the day of 10 March 2024 (basically 4 days ago) :

Gaming PC: Intel Core i7-14700F RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB DDR5 Desktop - March

I currently live in Victoria and I was wondering if I was going to get any form of "update" regarding my order, I tried to contact you guys regarding the motherboard slots before the purchase (no replies till this day by the way) and to add on to that, recently contacted you guys regarding the due date of the delivery. I did not have any form of update (no pc was built message, tests were done, ready to be shipped, nothing) and I'm not going to lie, it's kind of frustrating to be left in the shadow as a customer.

As a consumer who spent money on your product I kind of want to know what is going on with my order and by that I don't mean a huuuuge paragraph explaining what you guys did, a simple sentence would suffice.

Hear me out, I completely understand that you guys need time to build it, test it, ship it, it's even written on the site that you guys need 5-10 business days to build it and 3-4 days to ship it (I live in Victoria), but I kind of want to know if any progress has been made.

I hope this message this didn't come out rude in any form, I am apologizing in advance if it did, I am simply impatient, and with no replies, I am feeling frustrated.

    • No problem at all, I appreciate the tone of this message given the scenario and nothing there is unreasonable in that at all. Can I have a way to track your enquiry to look into it for you?

        • +1

No worries, I believe the team has replied today as well.

  • @luketechfast @luketech
I just ordered the Core i7-14700F one!!! Can't wait!!!

Not sure if there's any chance to pay a little extra for "MSI MAG PANO M100R PZ Micro Tower Gaming Case"? I didn't see it as an option unfortunately :( Happy to pay a little extra separately if there's a chance :D

    • Thanks for your order, Pano is sold out unfortunately. MSI didn't bring too many in on their first run unfortunately.

      • @luketechfast - Got any other fishbowl'y cases similar? I like the full glass display, looks awesome. sorry, i know youre busy and its a friday.

        • No worries - we have a black fishtank on the way but I don't have confirmed timings yet. Not sure I can help with this until I know details and I don't know the details of those details

  • Question for the more experienced PC experts! My old pc on LGA1151 just blew up, and I suspect the issue is with the motherboard (Z170-HD3). I have 32GB DDR4 and 1070 Graphics Card + PSU + HDDs that can be salvaged. Would I be better off replacing the MB with something equivalent (would be around $150 I think and not easy to find), or go for the $399 build from Luke and fit the 1070 onto the machine?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Further info on this - this would only need to be a pc for the missus to watch youtube and process basdic microsoft office softwares.
