These have already been posted recently as a deal

I actually purchased one of those. It sold out and the other models were not available

  • +9

    20 years part replacement warranty

LOL, that's optimistic. Gonna bite them.

    • +19

Samsung figured out you'll be too busy dealing with the insurance claim when your house burns down to raise a warranty claim with them

      • People joke about that but a good mate of mine is an insurance adjuster and he alone has assessed multiple housefires from Samsung washing machines!

    • +5

I'm pretty sure that 20 year warranty is on the inverter, a part that's unlikely to fail for a long time. I don't think they cover the other parts of the their whitegoods for that long, especially the moving parts i.e. the washing/drying drum etc. which are more likely to fail vs non-moving parts.

      • +4

the drums are all stainless so they won't die either, but the spider, which holds the drum, is some sort of zinc, and on my cheapy it was a very thin piece of crap and died after only 5 years of use. The replacement part i got from ebay was double the thickness and should last me twice as long.

Also don't overload with soap or use fabric softener, I have heard that doing this can cause the parts to rust faster.

    • The other parts of the machine will fail first and aren't covered, so it's not going to be an issue.

  • +1

Crazy good deal on the Bespoke laundry OP, thanks for posting

  • we were looking for 12kg wash machine. got one thx

  • +4

I purchased a 9kg unit from the last deal. Just keep in mind if yours is mounted in the kitchen larger machine kick out a lot more water. I had to replace part of the drain pipe (as when the pressure mounted the pipe would overflow). I replaced it with proper tubing, used a hose clamp on both sides and now it’s fine

  • 12kg wow. My 20 yo miele is only 6-7kg and it was the biggest back then.

    • +2

      bigger isn't always better

    • Size matters, go big.

    • +2

If you don't need 12KG there is no point getting a 12KG one, it may be less efficient.

      • +2

This, as they are most efficient when they are full, and it follows that when they are not, they are less so.

        • You would think that the AI and Smarts would sense the lower loads and use lower quantities of water and detergent. Electrical use is pretty fixed per load so wouldn't vary too much according to the load size.

          • @nomadspartan: It does use lower quantities of water, and probably detergent, than if it was a full load, but the ration of those things vs the load size/weight would not be as good as when it's full

    • Larger sizes are handy when cleaning blankets and doonas, saves you having to pop down to the laundromats to have them washed.

      • +5

Yes, but the 99% of the time that they are not full, it is very inefficient. You pay for that.
Of course, if you are a large family, this doesn't apply as it's probably always full.
Call me disgusting, but I don't wash the quilt insert more than once a winter.

  • Anyone knows how to create a fake edu account here?

    • It was mentioned in the recent s24 ultra deal. Can create a legit albeit temporary edu account.

  • Thanks OP been on my list for ages. Happy to take white for that price!

  • For some reason Samsun refusing to put short cycle wash on their products :(

    • 15 mins not short enough for you?

      • +2

39m is the advertised 'short cycle' for this model

  • +7

You have to have a laugh at the fact that they’ve marketed that washing machine as “bespoke white” as if the colour white is uniquely expressive for a washing machine.

  • +10

I thought we'd established that we all hate Samsung white goods.

    • +2

I do but for that price…

    • My samsung dryer has been going strong for a few years being used almost every day

    • They have one benefit, you can get spares if you are inclined to fix them. Mind you, if you bought an LG, you might not need the spares in the first place

  • Samsung still using that dreadful end cycle music?

    • Yes, they still play a aweful tune that's way too long for what it needs.

    • same as LG.
my Bosch makes a loud and annoying short beep but it does it at regular intervals until it's turned off.

      • +3

Depending on the model, Bosch units have a button you can hold down when turning on to enter the service menu and then disable the beeps. Google your part number.

        • +2

          OMG THAT IS FKING AWESOME
Thanks so much! I changed it from 3 (out of 4) to 1, much less annoying now.

  • Got one stacking with Amex -100 offers. Will report back whether this goes through.

    • Commenting to see if this works

    • I just got the amex $100 credit back for this washing machine purchase.

  • +7

I have both a Samsung heat pump dryer and washing machine.
I would never go Samsung laundry again.
The dryer over spins clothes and doesn't do a reverse spin, this leads to laundry being twisted and draw strings sometimes snapping in the machine. I've had 3 other dryers and never had this problem.

I've brought a washing machine off their own website which showed incorrect dimensions so it didn't fit in the spot. When I reported it afyer my renovations were done and wanted a exchange, they said it was outside there 14 day change of mind policy so they couldn't do anything about it.
Ended up going to office of fair trading to get a resolution.

Ended up going Samsung again but got it from Harvey Norman at the right size, only because the wife wanted it to match the dryer.
I'm about the lodge a warranty claim because the tub isn't balanced and makes a terrible noise.

So will not go Samsung laundry again.

Maybe I got lucky but I bought a factory second Samsung washing machine 10 years ago and it's still running strong. No complain whatsoever except the daily wash doesn't clean very well but that's probably the same for all brands 🤷

  • +6

personally I don't suggest this brand, I have a 10kg Samsung frontload machine.

  • +1

Looks like a massive bass speaker

    • +1

      That’s a business opportunity there!

  • +7

We purchased one and it failed three times in 5 years.

2 failures of the controller board in 3 years, with the 3rd ~ the 5 years mark. When tech checked he found drum had started to rust, so we sent to it tip and purchased a series 8 Bosch.

Absolute rubbish quality (reliability & cleaning ability) white goods from Samsung…

  • Writing for 18kg, have 10kg and doesnt fit quilts

  • -1

The real bargain is the 5K monitor for $1399

  • +1

Does anyone know if the actual dimensions of the tub are inceasing with the kg rating? I fill mine but it would be lucky to take 5.5.-6kg and it's a 7.5kg washer. I don't need extra weight I need space

  • It really is hard to go past Bosch. Im into my 7th year with my front loader and it still runs like a dream. Never had anything go wrong with it and probably had 4 to 5 cycles a week.

    • Same, heavy use and just don't seem to fail. I used to buy the German made ones exclusively, but now the Chinese made ones seem to last just as well. I have four series 8 and two series 6 heat pump dyers and washers (in apartments) of various ages 4-10 years old and NONE have had a failure.

      • I wanted a bosch heat pump but only their top end range seemed to do the reverse spin. Went with a cheaper haier and its been awesome so far but was disappointed the main feature I wanted wasnt in the low end bosch.

    • My Bosch just died… According to the label it's from 2011. Not bad for $100 gumtree find

  • White OOS

  • is LG or Samsung better for big capacity washing machine?

  • All these bells and whistles, is it even worth it? Just get a cheap Chinese one

  • +1

    My (2c) samsung washer review:

Had 2 samsung 7kg and 8kg washers, both drum spiders failed.

One was complete failure, basically the drum fell off.

Second one was partial failure (wobbled so much it started causing friction fires on the rubber rings. Was wild to open the washer and massive amount of smoke billowed it.

    Replaced both with Haier.

  • Pretty good deal for 12kg. I just bought an 8.5kg Samsung FL. They seem to think the more frequent and the louder it beeps the more the customer will appreciate the noise. The finish chime goes for about 20 seconds! It's possible to disable the finish chime on my model yet all the other beeps would still be enough to wake a baby.

  • same deal with Vic Government staff discount? or just Education?

As of March 2024, the white version of the 12kg washing machine (WW12TP04DSH) is ranked nr 9 in the Choice ratings, with an 82% expert rating, same as 3 other LG and MIELE models. Top 5 is formed by Bosh, Miele and LG, with 83%, so not far from the best models in the market according to Choice.

Dirt removal score 84% - We measure dirt removal with a spectrophotometer, a machine that's more accurate than the human eye and can detect differences of about 6%.
Gentleness score 61% - We test how gentle a washing machine is on clothes by attaching swatches of loose weave fabric to our test load, then measuring how much has frayed off by the end of the cycle. The less fraying, the higher the gentleness score.
Water efficiency score 86% - This shows you how efficiently a washer uses water. To compare efficiency between different-sized machines, we calculate the amount of water used per kilogram of laundry. The lower the water consumption per kilogram, the higher the efficiency score.
Reliability score 87% - A high score means the washing machine brand (not the model) is less likely to have faults over time, according to CHOICE members.

Also good deals on dryers - for example 1 x 8kg Heat Pump Smart Dryer - DV80T5420AB: Save -$412.25 (Was $1,649.00 now $1,236.75), in case you are after a combo. This model tops the Choice rating, along with an LG model: 87%

Drying time score 79% - If the dryer has a sensor to determine when the clothes are dry and automatically turns off, we use it, otherwise we test using the timer.
Energy efficiency score 92% - We measure how long it takes to dry 3.5kg of washing (6.65kg when wet) and how much energy is used. The energy efficiency and drying time scores are based on the amount of energy and time used per kg of clothing.
Cost per load $0.37 - How much it costs to dry a load of clothes, based on an estimate of 40 cents per kWh.
Shop Ethical rating F - Shop Ethical rates the environmental and social impact of the company (not the product) using independent sources. This rating is not included in our total score.
