    Does this have freesync?

    • +1

Listed with adaptive sync so yeah.

  • 100hz… what a weird refresh rate, I wonder if it was from those manufacturer seconds where it doesn't reach 144hz..

    • If that is the case could probably be overclocked to 120Hz maybe

    • +4

It's more likely a newer revision of the 75hz QHD panels from the previous generation of models.

    • how is it weird? many monitors have had this refresh rate.

  • any reviews on this?

  • +2

Not sure if the right one as it doesn't have the Q on the end but $199 at JB.

FHD vs QHD. 1080p vs 1440p in other words.

      • +1

        Ahh fair enough.

    • +9

      1440P >>> 1080P, particularly at 27"

        Ahh fair enough

I don't think I've ever been in the negs. I kinda feel hurt.

  • +2

Interesting home life that you have.

I had the 24inches 1080p and 100Hz version. It is really light weght, not really solid and feel flimsy. But it is ok with what it claimed for. Good for work and light games.

    • Thanks for the review. will get one.

This has been $209 in the past. Other than refresh rate (170hz vs 100), is this the better monitor over the MSI?

    • +3

      VA vs IPS

    • Notably for gaming (IPS).
If however you're using it for work, and scroll often, fast refresh VA has nicer blacks.

Slow VA is a no go, because the black ghosting is painful.

  • Anyone know if vrr is supported over it's HDMI 2.0b port?

  • +6

This is probably what I would recommend to non-power users now, and to budget gamers who cannot afford prohibitively expensive GPU. Affordable but good quality IPS. 10 bit display. 27 inches is, to me, the ideal size for 2560x1440p reslution. In comparison, with a 32 inch 4k monitor you have to use at least 125% dpi scaling for application/UI readability.

Power user could benefit from the extra space of a 4k monitor, but lighter users would be happily served by this monitor and save $400 over a similar quality 4k display.

Would it work well with a rx 6600? amd’s 3060 equivalent

      • -2

the gpu would be slightly underpowered

        • +1

ah, i’ve used it with a 4k monitor for valorant and it seemed to be above 100fps

    • Thanks for your helpful recommendation here. I fit into that category of non-power user. I want a nice 27inch that i mainly use for business/work and not really for gaming (have consoles and LG OLED C2 for that) but with nice options for gaming if i want to dabble a bit in PC.

  • What would you need to connect 2 monitors (hdmi or DP) to a one Hdmi port of a laptop for both monitors to work same time? Can someone share the link of a reliable device?

    • Does said laptop also have USB-C? Because whilst DP can be daisy chained,as far as I'm aware, HDMI can't. So that means a single video output. If you don't want to clone it, then the only thing I can think of is a video wall controller, which would let you take a single HDMI output and split it into 1x2 HDMI outputs to drive 2 separate displays. Probably limited to 1080p@60Hz output there though.

if your PC has USB-C, then this one for a quick fix assuming both your monitors have HDMI

      https://www.kmart.com.au/product/3-port-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapto…

      • Thanks Homr. Yes laptop does have USB-C port. I am guessing I don't need to worry about MST mentioned below by netsurfer? Plan is to connect one monitor via hdmi port and 2nd monitor to usb c port using below kmart adapter.

        • You were asking for an unusual requirement of wanting to output to 2 screens from 1 port.

If you are okay to use 2 ports and at least one of your USB-C ports supports USB-C/alt-mode (i.e. it actually supports display output), then you can use HDMI + 1 USB-C port/alt-mode (with an adapter/dongle/cable). However, please make sure you have at least 1 USB-C port that supports display out.

Best to list your laptop model details so people can check for you. Most OZBers assume you have a laptop that's capable of doing everything, but I prefer to take a conservative approach and not assume you have an expensive business grade laptop. If HDR is a requirement, please state that as well. It's unclear to me whether the older 4K/30Hz dongle (which doesn't support HDR in that res) supports 2K/100Hz with HDR.

        • Best to provide the following information:

          • Laptop model in full, including CPU and GPU (if it has an nVidia or AMD GPU).
          • Is HDR a requirement?
          • Is budget a key aspect? i.e. if the USB-C port is 10Gbps, does the dongle / hub used must retain that capability (even if it costs several times more).
          • If the laptop is powered by an USB-C port, is it okay if you continue to use that port just for power?
    • -1

You need a laptop that supports USB-C/alt-mode with MST (multi stream transport). If the laptop doesn't state it supports MST than you cannot do that from 1 USB-C port (that's capable of output video signal). Then, you will need a USB-C hub/dongle that supports MST or something like the below:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Simplecom-DA330-USB-C-Adapter-Audi…

Note: I just searched for the first product Amazon AU returned. I have zero experience on that particular device.

If your issue is that your laptop only has 1 HDMI port and no USB-C port capable of displaying output, then your only way to get 2 displays is to use DisplayLink for the second display. I don't like / recommend DisplayLink technology at all so I am not going to elaborate on that.

DisplayPort daisy chaining is possible (but that requires 1 monitor supporting that), but I haven't seen a laptop with HDMI 2.0 or above that supports 2 display streams.

      • Thanks mate. Do have 2 USB - C ports. Will below device be ok without worrying about if laptop supports MST or not.

        https://www.kmart.com.au/product/3-port-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapto…

Will connect 1 monitor via hdmi and 2nd one using usb c using kmart adapter.

        • +1

yes it will, no MST necessary
as long as your usb c port supports display output
          check your laptop model datasheet

  • How’s this compare to Dell 27in IPS QHD monitors (S27xxDy), ozbargainers’ sweetheart?
    The like of this:

    Or this ones:

    • Problem with the dell you need to use dp to achieve 75hz
No cheap hdmi —> dp cables I could find
If I hadn’t bought the dell I’d buy this one
