Would have been nice if it included games..still great

    • Yep, I'm still waiting on another games sale. Give me 20% off games and I'll be a happy camper for Christmas.

  • -1

    Some nice deals there.
Was hoping for 10% off Apple, though.

    • ew. yes im one of those types

      • +6

you can always get 10% off apple, just by asking (haggle)

  • +2

Since when has Sony been excluded from "Compact Digital Cameras"! I want a RX100!

And i think it is 10% off Nikon Cameras, not 15%.

    • Edited. Anyway, I copied those details from JB facebook page…lol

    • Sony X are doing it for $663.17. Only problem is, you have to be a member (facebook.com/sonyxaustralia).

    • Far Cry 3 only $59 (PS3/X360/PC)

    not bad

  • Hmm PS3 seems like a decent deal…

    • +3

12gb is pretty puny. I really think 99% of people would want a hard drive

      • +1

I originally thought it was a typo.

      • +2

can you install your own into the super slims?

      • I wouldn't waste your money on "their" hard drives. For the price they charge you for storage they've already put in you could put a SSD in for the same price. Think about it, on multiplayer you get to start the game before everybody else :P

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86617

save a little but only thing is that it will take longer to get here

      • +1

you can't play AUS DVD's and you don't get AUS warranty with that version. Very good price though..

Yeah, deff need to upgrade with a HDD. My ps3 just crapped itself (power issue) so planning on using that HDD with some paper to hold it in(instead of the bracket).

        • +3

This is a good deal, and you wont need to upgrade the hard drive

          https://www.gamesmen.com.au/catalog/new-look-ps3-500gb-p-317…

        • nice deal man

        • -1

You can play AUS blurays though. Who still watches DVDs these days? They won't look that good on your HD tv anyway.

        • +1

Dude, my DVD library is mass!

        • Some Blu-ray players will do a good job of upscaling your DVD collection. Of course you can't make detail from stuff that's not there but it is better than a DVD player. I'm not sure if the PS3 will upscale, but other players on special with this deal will probably.

        • +1

A lot of DVD players do this now too, and yes the PS3 does.

But it is nothing like watching a blu ray.

        • +2

There's a major problem with that link or the Gamesmen's security - it's letting me see your (or someone else's) account info, J***. I've logged off your account, but recommend you check your order details.

        • Gamesmen link says "No longer available"

    • Edit.

    Any cheap subwoofer deal?

    • I got a whole system a few weeks back on their last 30% sale and couldn't be happier. I was only going to do a speaker upgrade, with an old $100 voucher due to expire. The sale was that good I ended up spending a bit over $800 for what was worth about $1300, plus did the install with a mate, involved some custome work I got quoted around $600 for a basic install so it would of cost more, got a low $2000 system by the end of it and coulen't be happier.

Got the Cadence 600W 12" sub and Mono Block amp pack for $200

      http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/car-sound/subwoofers/cadence-…

Not sure how they can make it for that price! It sounds amazing and is on par with the kiker one for the same price, but has a gruntier bass, also has sheilding over the Woofer and a nice looking light to your bass beat.

Want to know about what else I got just ask, i'll try reply for you. The best saving was the head unit Sony (not as bad as you think of a brand) fully featured RRP $299 I paid around $115!

      • Sorry I mean HiFi surrouund subwoofer.

        Thanks

    just dance 4 $59.

    i want dance central 3.

  • Panasonic 55" 3D LED LCD TV only $1,276 - SAVE $420

anyone knows which mdoel is that?

  • Panasonic 55" Full HD 3D LED LCD TV TH-L55ET5A is a steal at $1,276!

    • rrp is $1999

  • I was just looking at a Yamaha HTR 6065 on JB's website for $588. Was trying to find out more info on the amp (does it support Zone 2 function) but i couldnt find that model anywhere. Jump back on the site after they announced the sale and its diasappeared!

    • The 6065 now has an additional 30% off, taking it down to $418 until this Sunday.. There will not be many reviews for the 6065 on the web, but some research on the Yamaha pages show that it is the RX-V673 rebadged to HTR-6065 to be sold as part of a home theatre package. It has 2 zone and is network capable. It also has AirPlay. I bought mine instore yesterday and the sound is impressive. The few sites that do sell the 6065 still show a RRP of $1100 +. Snap one up now.

  • Which one you guys think better?

Can't speak much for the LG, but I have the Panasonic and it's amazing. Picture quality and 3D is stunning.

I got it for $1,441.60 when they had 15% off.

I recommend it highly and at this price, if you're looking for a TV, I don't know how you can possibly go wrong with the purchase.

CNET also rated the 47" version 8.5 out of 10 and I agree on every point.

      • cool many thx

      • got a link for the CNET review? I know I should do the right thing by googling…

Any one else got feedback on this model?
I'm very tempted to buy - currently without a TV atm (don't ask)

How is the 3D output like? is it practical to view when sitting 3-7m away?

  • where can i get a AV Navigation unit for car at a decent price? all the jb sales seem to exclude them..

  • Any good deals on GPS or PVR recorder?

  • I hate it if deal popped up 2 days after i bought a product. Just bought an x10 on Sunday at Ted for 550 including GHT case. It would be 508 tommoz. Having said that i luv Ted's ppl, hopefully they won't go bust like some niche retailers (Allan Billy Hyde, Darrel Lea).

  • +3

Recently bought camera mics, hard drive and memory sticks from JB Hifi. The guy brought all the prices down to cost (his words) plus threw in extended warranty for no cost. Saved about $150 on everything (total was $300). Next day i was heading OS and got the GST back.
I recommend always asking for a better price for anything and it's the old rule. If you're not happy with the price - don't buy it.

    • Why would he sell them for cost price?
Breaking even is not in their best interest, it is not even feasible. That is how charities operate, not businesses.

      • +3

that's every saleman saying, "that's what cost us, we don't make money on that price…."

        and we know that's BS.

        • sometimes it's really at cost when we're trying to clear items so we can make room for refresh stock (i.e. the new model coming in and we have no room so need to get rid of the old model)

        • +1

'Cost' is VERY subjective. Cost could include what it costs to employ staff, electricity etc. I used to work at a Sony Centre and every item had a 'floor cost' factored into the price. The fact that they included a warranty for free would defiantly suggest that. Warranty is where they make all their margin.

When selling you need to sum up your customer

Will a free warranty make them buy or a lower cost? If lower cost sell a warranty.

          $500 item + Free warranty
          OR
          $400 item + $100 warranty

Equals the same thing. Yes it can made the difference between selling or not selling

    Assassin's Creed 3 for $49.. Tempting..

  • Do JB ever have deals on prepaid mobiles? I'm after one cheapo in particular, but am waiting for it to come down a bit. Will it happen? :)

  • +4

$67 for seinfeld season 1-9!! Will purchase unless someone can convince me otherwise?

    • +7

Don't do it! Don't!!! Did that work?

    • -4

Why should we convince you otherwise, exactly?
I couldn't care less one way or the other, so do as you please.

      • +1

I am pretty sure that is their way of asking "Is this a good deal?".

The nerve! OzBargain is neither the time nor the place to ask about deals!

        • Then perhaps they should ask that, instead of making seemingly inane requests. I wasn't disparaging the opportunity for discussion, merely the manner in which it was phrased. I'll attach an emoticon next time, to make it sound less serious ;-)

    • +2

Seinfeld is gold. You have to be crazy not to buy it for $67.

    • +1

very good deal. I recently put up a deal for Seinfeld complete box set $79 @ kmart. $67 is awesomeeee!

The boxset is really nice, love how the discs are integrated.

    • +2

      Giddy up!

    • +1

"The Opposite" was just on tonight, does that convince you?

      • +1

haha i will no longer purchase this boxset ;)

    • Deleted

    • I can't believe i missed this! My brother wants Seinfeld series for his birthday, and i start shopping on thursday, grrrr!

Don't feel like paying $80 for it now. $67 was my max anyhow.

I called up JB to see if they could still do that price, but not to be. :(

  • I'm looking for a simple point-and-shoot camera to take to Soccer games and whatnot, are there any really good deals for compact cameras sub-$150 on this sale?

I've no idea about cameras. Like none.

    • +2

just get a cheapest one you can find. all the compacts at sub $150 are as "good" (or crappy).

  • Anyone have opinions or experience on the Teac 55" TV? Full HD, 100Hz, seems alright.

    • I think Teac or Soniq are all the same (quality) then Soniq with the same specs for $699 half a year ago would be a better deal.

  • no canon dslr ?

  • 50% on JBL docks?! They must have a new model coming for iPhone5

    • Get this and buy a connector from clickship for $7

      • i thought they hadn't gotten audio working yet

    The Panasonic 55 inch TH-L55ET5A, that's passive 3D yeah?

  • -6

The flyer doesn't mention to STM ipad cases. Where was this listed?

  • Yamaha AVRs 30% OFF - but of course they don't advertise the one that I want.

Looks like I've have to venture to Westfield Sydney and see what I can get from there on order.

  • Do the prices on the website include the discounts already? Or will they be adjusted tomorrow morning?

    • +2

      adjusted tomorrow.

  • Now I can get the wireless Pioneer speakers for 30% off.

  • So the Yamaha receiver I want just went on sale a day or two ago at JB, see here: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/jb-hi-fi-home-audio/receiver/yamaha…

Will the new 30% off be taken from that or the rrp?

    • interesting question you pose !! Just keep a screen shot of that price / deal somewhere - and then see what happens tomorrow.

The model I'm after RXV773 is sadly not listed :(

    • $200.20 was that the price yesterday?

  • DVDs & Blu-ray have been 20% off since last week so that wasn't a Wednesday only deal.

  • Hrmm yeah, * PS3 12GB Console only $229 , it's been that price since the new model has come out.

  • I was looking at a cheap 32" tv today in JB. Their home brand Soniq for $199 just for the dining room. I decided not to and then tonight the old plasma in the dining room starts showing a two inch wide black stripe on the screen. What a freaky thing. Anyway, with the 15% off Samsung tomorrow I think I will get their 32" model for about $341. Might buy some gift cards using pay wave for a bit more off.

  • I think I need help in getting my first home theatre system…

I've got my computer hooked up to the living room tv so I'm not looking for a dvd/blu-ray player, just after the amp and speakers, 5.1 should be fine in my medium-sized living room.

Currently weighing up between practically all the systems below $800, just need help on amp functionality and sound quality!

    • I have this one http://www.jbhifi.com.au/home-theatre/pioneer/home-theatre-s…

I got it for $750ish, it was available at JB for $990ish last weekend. It's not an audiophile's system by any means, but it has a surprising amount of audio fidelity. When listening to music on it, I found myself noticing instruments that I didn't hear on my (actually pretty nice) headphones.

The surround sound is good too, watching Inception on it sounded great.

  • Does Officeworks sell GPS?

    • Yes.
