  • I ordered this morning right after the deal was published and the driver had another order. I think a few bags were switched and I ended up with more red rock deli and less red bull. At least uber gave a refund for missing items easily.

    • Doubt it. A simple chargeback via the bank would sort that out quick smart. There is no way for the customer to know a "Deal" is an error.

      I doubt Uber would make such a bad PR move.

    • While Uber back in the day were known to charge people after the fact I'm pretty sure they copped it for doing such things and it may not have been done for a long while now. Just in case though I placed a hold on my card :D

  • Is it just my transaction that has disappeared?
    I did see the notification from commonwealth bank app of the initial charge when ordering, then the adjusted charge due to some out of stock items. But when clicking them or logging in to the banking app none of them are there anymore.

    Also had 6 items missing (excluding the out of stock ones) that I had to get refund from (refunds usually takes a couple of days but the initial charge stays there from my experience in the past)

    Made sure to select no substitutes.

    • all i can see is the initial pending charge for me. not sure whether not to contact uber support or wait it out and hope it fixes.

    I got a couple of item… (24 of them) and was charged $110! Looks like they replaced 9 unavailable items and charged the full price… have followed some instructions about “unhappy with replacement” but only got $30 back… looks like this is going to be one of those hassles.

          It's pretty well known anyway, the option was always there. It even asks you after you placed an order

    • I’d say this happened to a lot of people. Without knowing about the substitution, no idea how they are going to
      handle it. Uber support will be busy today.

    I contacted uber support last night and got this response:

    Thanks for reporting this issue to us, we are aware of the issue and are currently working on it. Please be assured that consumers who have eligible orders with promotional items being replaced with more expensive items will get a refund.

      My order was replaced without my consent, and Uber help in app has been continually rejecting my reports.
      I contacted Uber support who sent that message, but the Uber help still keeps rejecting a refund and instead says i agreed to a replacement so its on me

      • I got an email this afternoon saying a refund is in process. Message them on X. I got the same email this morning saying that the refund got rejected as I accepted the replacement.

  • Finally got the refund after contacting their support on X.

    • How long did it take for them to get back to you on X?

      • Around 20 minutes.

                @yuvii28: Nothing… no response to my multiple requests for support via the uber app. Alternative is to raise that the order never arrived via the app and claim a full refund? Seeming the only option

                  I was planning to try that or just do a reverse charge from Paypal, but so weird that we have to do that at all…

                  I contacted X support again saying that I was dissapointed and would be issuing a chargeback if they did not resolve, and finally received a response processing my refund.

  • I had a few autogenerated responses on Uber support before getting the “we are aware of the issue” response.

    Now two weeks later and 1) cannot see the order in past orders and 2) unable to reopen the support message in Uber support!

    Boarderline scam from Uber here…
