    Prepared for the Trumpocalypse

  • +22

Still haven't seen anyone in public wearing these…

    • I have but not the mask bit. They're massive, super noticeable.

    • I wear them but removed the fans/covers. They're still big but much flatter :)

  • Bring back Covid maybe

    • +4

      where'd it go..?

  • +31

    Jan 2024 $699 -> Dec 2024 $399 -> April $199 -> Dec 2025 $99???

HODL and Buy the dip 🚀🚀🚀🌙

    • +2

it was $199 in Jan 2025

    • +3

I don't think it's going to go down any lower. I can't see it being $99. They would be losing so much money. Also we have had this price before so it's probably the final price unless they do a clearance.

      • +1

I think there will be a clearance that will drop lower, given they've come out with a newer model, minus the purification tech. That's what I'll be waiting for.

        • I have been wanting also but it's starting to be a really good price. I don't want to wait then miss it.

          • +2

@HaydosK: I've got more audio devices that I know what to do with, so it would really need to be impulse buy territory for me to justify it. $100 and I'll bite.

    • How far is the dip?

    • Dip implies it's gonna come back up again, when do you expect I can sell for my profit? 2035? Next pandemic?

  • +6

You'll have to pay me $199 to wear these.

    • I won't even for $699

    • Would you accept $198.99?

  • +3

    Is it Halloween already

  • @icedmelonsoda - price back down, if you still want a second pair.

    • Cheers bro

      • you have two melons?

Whenever I wear my headphones I always wished I could look like Hannibal Lecter playing contact sports while simultaneously being concerned about inhaling micro-pollutants. I guess it all goes hand-in-hand.

    The Bane of Dyson

  • Perfect for hayfever sufferers, just like wearing big headphones and a mask

    • +3

Mask is much cheaper though. Rather get a set of WH-1000XM3/4/5 and a mask than this.

    • Except as a mask it doesn't provide a great seal…

  • +3

Get these down to $99 and ill be the idiot wearing these. I always loved their ridiculousness but the RRP was insane.

    • If the sound is good $200 might not be a stupid price

  • +1

With the amount of gross people out there, not a bad idea

    • +1

I don't see any blinkers or blinders attachment.

  • Apparently headphones aren't terrible but the mask barely works at all because it's not sealed.

    • No headphone IS terrible. I tried it at jb

  • +2

Wow they really can't get rid of these. I'll bite at $100.

  • Great to use it on crowded public transport. There is always that one guy why just had a Mexican food before getting into crowded train.

    SUB-ZERO WINS FLAWLESS VICTORY

    • +1

Spot on… that's what they remind me of. Though, I do wonder what the sound quality is like.

      • I've heard the sound quality was quite good….pun intended

  • +2

Not for people with stiff neck, it's dang heavy, more like Dyson dumbbell on your head, used 15 minutes and never wanted to use it again. Sitting here and collecting dust.

Weight wise it's well over 1kg, so bought with caution, should have return it.

  • +3

    I purchased at $199.
    Horrible.
Heavy, too tight but damn near impossible to turn them off. Took it back to JB hi Fi for refund.
    The sound was reasonable though.

    • Did they accept it? Never heard of JB accepting headphones for a change of mind return.

      • +1

Yes they accepted them . Told them I couldn't get them to turn off. Took about 10+ minutes to turn off.
They refunded , but not the shipping costs.

Bought these last time for $199 and im really happy with the purchase. Sound is good. The quality is right up there. Weight may be an issue for some but you get used to it. As for the filter feature ive never used it but happy using these out in public. For $199 you can't go wrong i think. I have a fair few headphones including sony xm3, 4 and 5, bose SC, sennheiser various Bluetooth and wired. Each to their own of course but for me compared to the others i own and the price i paid for those this was worth it.

    • +1

My experience is roughly the same as yours. For $200, the sound quality I got was absolutely phenomenal. I dare say the Zone is a good closed-ear substitute for my Focal Clear, but only sound-wise because this is like a damn brick on my head.

      • +1

Remove the fans and covers and fit some 3d printed ones. They're still heavy but does remove a decent bit of weight whilst flattening out the profile.

  • +2

Will give a shot for $99 nothing more 😄

  • +3

Be warned, these are incredibly heavy.

  • Optimus Prime cosplay

  • I read the title but didn't look too closely at the photo. Thought they were purifying the air/sound going into your ears and that it was a day-late April fools joke.

Seems I'm not that far off the mark.

  • if I work in a kitchen with a lot of oil fumes and smoke, doing some paperwork, this would be very helpful…

    • kitchen fumes and smoke'll clog up your filters quick smart

  • +1

Nobody cared who I was till I put on the headphones.

  • No voice modulation? That's a criminally missed opportunity from their marketing department!

  • I got these from jb on the last sale and i usually use mostly wireless sens/epos. These are fantastic. My usual pc daily was an epos 670 which is a big and fairly heavy headset. Reviews kept on and on about how heavy the dyson is so i was kinda woried about that but its a non issue. They fit fine and dont feel heavy to me at least. I use them with dolby atmos and they sound fantastic for gaming. The noise cancelling is something i had no interest in but being able to mute my kids out while playing a round or two of warthunder is amazing. Battery life is huge. No issues with latency. They feel very premium even compared to my hd800s. Yeeted the mask in the bin when i opened the box, never tried that. Havent used another headphone since getting them. Def worth it for $199

  • I bought these and the sound is pretty good and transparency mode is awesome. Removing the fans (and covers) from the ears is easy and saves some weight. Have forgotten how much, they're still heavy but now weigh 450g. I'm collecting 3d printed covers per the last post this weekend which I guess will add a bit back on again but not a lot. Turning them off just requires holding the button down until you hear the second beep. It's not as hard as everyone seems to think.
Edit - for clarity I bought both these and the other navy colour (explorer?). I returned these ones and kept the more muted colour scheme.

  • Marketing team: how do we get the word purifying in the title?
    R&D: Hold my beer

  • Tried the live chat for a cheaper price, they could only discount it enough to cover the delivery cost. Oh well, will hold and they'll either get cheaper or sell out (can't imagine the stock levels are massive)

  • I have these and removed the fans and filters and 3D printed new side plates.

The audio quality is outstanding as is the noise cancelling. I'm a big fan at $200.

  • It SUCKS :D

  • after scrolling through all the comments, only one mentions anything about the Noise Cancelling.
    on a ANC headphones post!!

    • Just FYI, these headphones have ANC.

      • thank you for mentioning it. two comments now that at least mention ANC. 🙏
