never too many AE deals. keep them coming!

    • +2

Agreed, though keen on the next round of reolink AE deals.

      • +4

I sent AliExpress a list of Reolink deals I'd like to see them help fund for the next sale last week and they seemed interested. Fingers crossed I get something for the next sitewide.

        • Nice. Fingers crossedbas well then. Got some older ones I want to replace with updated "ai" notification ones (eg rlc820a etc)

    • +3

Agree. I put everything in my cart and then wait for a sale. I always find pretty much immediately after I place an order I need something else so I wait for the next set of coupons hahah.

    • before i buy anything off AE i search for your posts here to find the best codes on offer…dont ever change!

  • Love your self-reflection. I better upvote then. Where was the complaint? I missed it. I'm not a TEMU customer but it seems that AliExpress items are better than TEMU. Not sure why the complaint.

    • +5

I always say Temu is good if you want the cheap generic stuff and the occasional price error /brag sorry. AliExpress for all the branded stuff.

      • just not xiaomi, mostly fake

        • +3

Fake Xiaomi is easy to spot. Xioami or not actually putting Xiaomi in the product title.

      • +1

Bit random but I brought off banggood years ago? Another alibaba company afaik, My poco f3 was off there I believe as it was cheaper than aliexp at the time.

Never trusted or dared to touch temu with those ads on youtube as it reminded me of wish.

Is banggood still a thing anymore tho lol cause yeah nowadays i just use aliexp for everything it seems.

        • +4

Banggood had no relationship with Alibaba. The company went bankrupt a few years back and were bailed out. They shifted all operations to another province of China with less strict labour laws and have slowly been crawling along. The AU warehouse was cleaned out, their in-house brands like BlitzWolf stopped releasing products and now they charge shipping on everything. They're just not competitive anymore.

          • +1

@Clear: Yeah, i really like blitzwolf. The solar LEDs are top notch! Too bad, can't get em anymore.

      Where was the complaint?

There was no complaint about @clear posting too many AliExpress deals…
@clear is making up comments / a story that didn't occur because he/she wants sympathy and to suit a false narrative that he/she is an innocent victim

This is the original post which you can read

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/api/folder/list/c?tid=16434995

In essence, there was a post about the "Xiaomi" 12 Bone Solid Color Automatic Umbrella

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/901829

      1 commenter said

IIRC, these ones aren't actually Xiaomi umbrellas. I have the original Xiaomi/Mijia branded one, which is solid.

      and second one reply

You might be right because some comments in the previous posts claim this is not the real Xiaomi umbrella, or that if it is, its quality has worsened over time.

      and I also replied and

      1. I just made a statement ie
This product is considered a dud / inferior and not a true Xiaomi product (based on community feedback) from previous same deal post which I found here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857195

      from others comments
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857195
"these are inferior to the only true Xiaomi made umbrellas - Mijia (which is no longer made)"

      1. @clear then decided to reply to my statement and essentially justified the posting of duds as long as he/she added a disclosure

      2. I just made a suggestion "if @clear know the product is a DUD, not post/advertise that DUD again in the future" since @clear is a power poster
I was not saying @clear was responsible for the posting of the current deal " "Xiaomi" 12 Bone Solid Color Automatic Umbrella" again in that post which he/she didn't seem to comprehend.. and still thinks I was referring to that

      3. I also said that @clear likely wants to keep posting these aliexpress deals (including DUDS) because wants the clicks + rewards from aliexpress / or the aliexpress sellers..

@clear then made an UNBELIEVABLE comment

You'll see that I haven't been paid $150 for that deal. I declare my rep status when required, i.e. Geekbuying, Tronsmart, WhatGeek, ESET, Kugoo, Kogan and Romoss

      I then replied

"You don't need to be an official aliexpress rep, you could be a shadow, an undercover or even just a non official etc..
There's always some sort of kickback, bonus, extra discount, some sort of reward or $ from each store or even aliexpress …

Nobody posts this much and mainly aliexpress deals without getting something in return.

Not saying you should STOP posting aliexpress deals if there are ACTUAL GOOD DEALS (ie not DUDs)..
but don't make it seem like you are not getting something in return."

      Therefore

      1. @clear posts the MOST aliexpress deals on ozbargain every week/month/year (more than any other users here)
      2. and REGULARLY able to get discount codes from sellers to post as deals on here.
      3. SO is LIKELY to get some sort of reward (kickback, bonus, extra discount, giftcard or money) from those sellers
      4. AND is also likely (shadow, an undercover or even just a non official) rep for aliexpress
      5. YET keeps on wanting US to BELIEVE that @clear is not getting some sort of REWARD from posting all these aliexpress deals

So there was NO COMPLAINT about @clear posting too many aliexpress deals (which @clear has LIED in his post)

Someone recently complained that I post too many AliExpress deals and upon self reflection here's another deal.

      • +1

So there was NO COMPLAINT about @clear posting too many aliexpress deals (which @clear has LIED in his post)

So perhaps I wasn't even talking about you then? It's disappointing that you need to bring this up again. Especially since you've clearly added it to your Ozb account bookmarks to make it easier to bring up again and again:

This is the original post which you can read

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/api/folder/list/c?tid=16434995

        • -7

So perhaps I wasn't even talking about you then?

Pretty sure you are talking about me since it was recent event
unless you got a link of the comment/person you are referring to.

Either way you still did not comprehend the point I was making (despite many attempts to tell you and even written in simplest points)
and you still trying to make yourself sound like an innocent victim by making a follow up comment

Yeah so I don't intentionally post dud deals and if I know something is shit I won't share it. Noticed how I haven't shared this umbrella when it's reduced in every AliExpress sale since? Especially when it still tops the best seller charts.

Your whole spiel has come off as an attack out of nowhere, especially when an old deal was brought up repeatedly.

All I did was made a suggestion that you take responsibility and don't post a dud deal again if you know it is a dud (from previous deal) .. rather than trying to justify the posting of it with a disclosure

          that's it..
          not that hard to comprehend..

          Was not attacking you..
but just saying that your "justification for posting of duds with disclosure" is stupid and instead you take some responsibility and not post it (if you know it is a dud)

          • +2

            @pinkybrain:

All I did was made a suggestion that you tale responsibility and don't post a dud deal again if you know it is a dud (from previous deal) .. rather than trying to justify the posting of it with a disclosure

My comment about a "disclosure" made sense if you consider the context of my reply to the comment at the top of the tree. Concern was raised that the product wasn't a 'Xiaomi branded' product and I explained how that's the case with other Xiaomi related brands.

You replied by linking my old deal and said these are inferior and my reply was reinforcing what I said originally in context to the original comment. I had put a comment in my deal description as to why these might not have Xiaomi branding for reasons I've explained above already.

So you've taken my explanation of how Xiaomi branding works and turned it into "Clear doesn't take responsibility for his posts, Clear only cares about votes and the $$$ he apparently gets". It's pretty easy to see your comments as an attack when they change the direction of the comment tree completely and it gets turned into "justification for posting of duds with disclosure" when that was never the case.

So I'll repeat myself again. Products sold on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform are often marketed as Xiaomi products on marketplaces like AliExpress, as per the original conversation you interrupted. And to reply to your massive unnecessary walls of text later - I don't intentionally post dud products and if I know they're a dud I won't intentionally share them again.

While I owe you no explanations whatsoever (these replies included) I'm happy to share why I post deals on OzBargain. Something you may learn to understand if you cared to share deals :)

I wouldn't have WiFi 6E without your deals Clear!

    Never enough AliExpress.

  • +7

I wished their search function show me what i want rather than random things i looked at in the past lol

    • What are you looking for?

    • You can kind of tune the search by clicking on items similar to what you want, and looking at “Recommended items” that also are similar, and I think if you repeat key words in your search, it seems to help.

    • If you click search again the content changes constantly. Most of it, unrelated though

  • Anyone know if there's a decent AliExpress wall-mount WAP, like the one Ubiquiti makes? I've got daisy-chained cat5 though my place I'd like to use as a backbone, but I'd need PoE passthrough

  • I’m happy for AE deals every single day hehehe, thanks Clear!

  • +2

    Too many AE deals??
    You wot mate?
    Was he high?
    Tell him he’s dreamin

Without your AE deals, i’d only use OzB lightly instead of the full blown addition I have now!

    Thanks for all you do!

  • Thanks Clear, I need to buy a new battery for a Samsung S20 FE so will risk buying one from Aliexpress because I can't find an original. Even if I could it would be too expensive.

If anyone recommends a certain brand or store would appreciate any suggestions?

  • I appreciate the AliExpress deals, coupons and product & buying advice. Thanks @Clear

  • Can never get them to work
"Sorry, this code is for specific items only"
