  • Is there a way to see my Coles Plus Saver first payment date?

  • +1

Keeps trying to charge me even with the promo code and checkout page saying freee

    • It did that with me as well, even though the page says 0 dollars charged today. I called them up to esquire and they said it doesn't charge you. So went ahead with the $7 authorisation and I wasn't charged anything.

      • Can confirm it's just authorisation and not charge thank you

  • +2

Coles Plus, my most used subscription. Given how few grocery items it takes to hit $50 minimum, and frequently having one hour delivery slots available …. Win. Worth the $19/m, but better for free.

  • +1

Another way for Duopoly to scam more profit from you

First it was woolworths with "boost" for rewards, now Coles

How about you just lower my food bill by your 9% profit margin

  • I never had a coles account. Tried the workflow of signing up for one, and the workflow makes it seem you need to sign up to the 1 year commitment before applying the free code. Am I doing it incorrectly? I just want to get the trial for 1 month and than 3 months for free to try it out.

Looks like they were trying to charge my card for $199.

  • +5

For people who used PayPal to sign up, you can go to your payment settings and disable automatic payment to Coles. That way, even if you forget to cancel in 3 months time and Coles tries to charge you, it will be blocked.

    • PayPal settings?

      • Yes there is a section on PayPal for authorised/recurring payments. Can cancel it there

  • +2

why is everyone jumping up and defending (vehemently and so passionately) Coles and Woolworths when someone says something negative about them?

    • -2

Bc OzBargain was cucked from a thrifty consumer guerrilla forum years back into the establishmentarian boot licker that it is now, defending everything from Big Brands to Big Tech to Big Govt (genetic reengineering bioweapon injections included).

    • +1

      Sir, this is wendys.

We look for ways to save money sometimes… others things are set aside. We are poor, sir

    • -1

This seems to happen for certain large corporations that are raping aussie public but always have their defenders , who knows why. Maybe trolls, maybe people who like to argue for the sake of argument, maybe people having their own issues and its like an outlet, possibly people who work for those companies and i guess some people who actually like those companies.

  • Amazing Deal

  • Thanks OP, purchased 4x6 packs of Peroni 5% for $51.50 inc paper bag and free delivery. Does anyone know if you can cancel the membership straight away or does that also take away the 3 free months?

    • Did you get the option to apply 10% discount?

      • Sure did but I'll use it when I do a bigger shop :)

        • I want to apply 10% discount but it doesn't show up. I called the customer service and they told me to wait for 24 hours.

          • @Suricate: shouldn't have waiting time.

            from Liquorland?
The 10% off discount is only available on Coles Supermarket transactions (instore, app or online) and is not available on transactions at First Choice Liquor Market and Liquorland (including Liquorland Warehouse and Liquorland Cellars) (instore, app or online).

            • @test8888: Coles.
I called the customer service and they told me to place an order first and they can give Coles credit once the invoice is generated.

  • +1

I signed up for saver but when I try to sign up for plus the coupon shows The promo code you entered is invalid or expired

EDIT: nvm, the yearly plan was selected, we need to select to monthly plan and then apply the promo

  • +3

If you are using the 4 week offer with a $50 spend target, and you use the 10% off to make it $45, does it still qualify? Or do you need to spend $55.55 before the 10% off

    • -1

Ordered with 50.5. Got 10% discount and delivered for free

      • +2

OK, that's the $50 for free delivery with Coles Plus.

I'm talking about the 4 week offer https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/901229 where you need to spend $50 (or your own personalised target) every week.

Is that $50 before 10% discount or after discount? Woolworths is before discount - but things don't always work the same way at Coles

        • +3

For the sake of an extra $5.55 I'd not take a chance on it :)

        • +7

It always stipulates the amount has to be after discounts, so you would have to make sure that the total is still $50+ AFTER any discounts are taken off

  • Did anyone make a new Fb's account and have it work?

I made one online, but it never gave me a member number (strangely), and the account is full of error messages like:

    Something went wrong
We are unable to link your Flybuys account right now

Does a FB's account actually require you owning a card from instore initially? I dont get whats wrong with my account and a 1.5hr online chat, 40 minute call and email has lead to no help….

Guess i'm going to miss out on this deal alltogether…

    • +1

Did d you ask the question to customer service?

I used a temp card from the store
No idea whether it's a requirement

Try using a different email/phone number. Not sure whether it would make any difference

I don't like Flybuys customer service. They don't seem to know anything. Tell them you want to talk to someone in higher level support team

      • Yeah, I was on chat for well over an hour and a phone call, and when I asked to talk to a manager/higher up, they stopped the chat saying:

Please be advised for account safety and security your query cannot be conducted through our chat service. We kindly ask that you contact our call centre

I think they had no idea how to help me and just made some fake response at that point lol, and they were just using a script.

I used my only phone number as well so dont know what to do (i had been using my parents FB account up until this)

Thanks for the reply, I feel i was supposed to have a temporary card already, but the site doesn't tell you its necessary, letting me create the account anyway. And my Coles account doesn't function because of the faulty FB's account ahhh. This is such a fail lol.

  • -1

10% discount does not apply to Opal top ups, I found to my disappointment. 10% off Coles usual grocery prices is still no bargain.

    • -1

I guess we need to blame the US for the inflation as they didn't act quickly even though inflation was increasing post COVID.
What about 10% off 1/2 price items when Flybuys offer spend $50 get 2k points?

  • -1

Does their shitty password reset work for anyone?

  • -1

Heads-up guys, I discovered that a Flybuys additional cardholder does not receive a 10 per cent discount. My wife's Flybuys number is linked to mine as an additional cardholder. When my wife redeemed her 10 per cent savings, mine also got redeemed.

    • -1

So you have a you and your wife signed up to the same family membership?

      Or additional cardholder something different?

      • +2

One Flybuys number can be linked to another and both share the points. Each member can sign up for Coles Saver subscription individually but only either one can redeem 10 pct discount because thier flybuys numbers are linked. I think their system should prevent an additional cardholder from signing up for Coles Saver as it knows the person wouln’t be able to receive the discount.

        • +1

I think… If each of you joined separately, then each of you should be entitled to a 10% discount. I think you should call and raise the issue. They might ask you to place an order first and then call again for credit once the invoice is generated, since they can't apply the 10% discount at checkout.
It’s clear if you assume that each of you PAID separately for it.

          • -1

@Suricate: That is what I thought because we had different Flybuys numbers linked to our own Coles accounts. I raised this issue with them and they said we only get the discount once because their system cannot tell who redeemed when Flybuys are linked, what??? Those morons just copy/pasted template in the email without bothering to read. Why can't their system just warn or disallow additional cardholders to sign up or have the discounts stack same as Woolies? I get 10% discount from Extra and Insurance. I redeem twice a month and their system can tell which one I redeem.

            • -1

@hiaaron: Yes, their system is terrible.

I recently called Coles because I didn’t see the 10% discount option at checkout. I was advised to place the order first and then call again for credit once the invoice was issued. I asked the agent to add notes so I wouldn’t have to explain the situation again. She started typing, and I heard the keyboard noise.

After the order was delivered, I downloaded the invoice and called again. The agent said there was no invoice for this order yet and advised me to call back later. I told him I had already downloaded it and asked him to restart his system. Haha. He said he still couldn’t find the invoice in the system.

The following day, I asked another agent to check the notes entered three days ago. She said she couldn’t find any. This wasn’t the first time I had heard that no notes were recorded. I didn’t like the way she spoke, so I hung up. I called again to speak with another agent and finally received the credit.

One good thing about Coles’ system is that it has canceled my orders in the past and automatically given me a $20 credit each time. I’ve experienced this a couple of times.

            • -1

@hiaaron: When my husband redeems his $10 off Coles mastercard, it sends him an email saying he redeemed, and if i do, it sends it to me. They can definitely tell who redeemed what lol

  • -3

The promo code you entered is invalid or expired

I'm still waiting for those Coles Plus extended hours…
Got Cinemas and restaurants opened to midnight+ but they close at bloody 10

  • -2

When joining coles plus, code applied but asking to pay $19, anyone got the same going on?

  • When is Australia going to wake up and realise, we are all getting screwed by large monopolies and corporate greed? Gimmicks like these memberships are just value adding to the company, not the consumer. If we just went back to paying shelf prices with no added on trickery and gimmicks we wouldn’t be seeing these absurdly bloated prices we are having to pay now. Stop being the dumb sheep flock in a pack of wolves

    • +1

Only other realistic options are Aldi, but they don't carry as many items, or IGA, but they charge more and the majority don't carry as many items.

    • You can get back at it and potentially change your attitude if you buy the shares and then you become a part owner of the business with a newfound vested interest in your company making a profit :)

      • +1

Already is via their superannuation. Literally every working Aussie has a vested interest in Colesworth, yet want to see them fall at the same time.

      • +1

Worst thing that could ever happen to the food sector was when Coles become publicly listed. Ever since, we have seen this slow decline in respect for consumers, all driven by greed to pay shareholders and greedy corporate. Absolute disgrace.

  • +1

if you cancel now after signing up, will it continue for the 3 months and then finish without debiting the payment method, or does it cancel straight away?

    • +1

I think someone commented you'll only get one month free if you cancel straight after signing up

      • will putting it on a single-use virtual card work ?

  • I'm getting an invalid promo error. Anyone else?

    • Change to monthly, not yearly.

  • +1

As a member of flybuys, I sometimes get offer like earn 10000 pts when shop $50-70 for 4 weeks (the exact amount should depend on your behaviour).

By joining coles plus or plus saver program, will it affect such promotions? Anyone with the membership have experience with it? (eg. as the plus saver gives 10% off each month, so the system decides to put you in a worse promo and/or less frequently, etc)

  • I'd probably just get the Saver.

I'm actually a bit miffed at Coles following my last C&C order. They didn't have any chicken breast mince (2 for $12) and gave me normal chicken mince (2 for $10) which is not equal or greater value as per their policy. Called them up and they said they'd refund me the $2. Never came through.

As convenient as click and collect is, I prefer to go in store so I can be happy with what is chosen and also pick out my fruit and veg so I don't get stuff like punnets of blackberries that already have substantial mould growing (happened on another C&C shop). I'm usually in and out within 30min on my shops anyway… when I go alone without wifey that is… she treats it like window shopping and she's too impatient with me checking my shopping list… seems to think I know the order of the aisles and will do my shopping list up in that order. I'll do fruit and veg, then meats on my list first but the rest may not be in the order of the aisles we'll be walking in!

    • +1

Maybe they said 'refund' when they actually meant 'credit.' Maybe you have $2 in your Coles account.

      • Definitely not credit. There's no credit on my Coles account. Wish there was though. Would put this to rest.

I know it's only $2 but I expect a big business like Coles to stick by their policies. I grab my breakfasts and lunches from them before going into the office on most days I'm in the office so they get a tonne of business from me… I just don't see the need for them to rort the customer like this.

  • Can I just cancel It after getting 3 months free of both? Will I keep the benefits for 3 months?

  • Understood

  • +1

I called Coles today about an issue, and I was advised that the promo would be extended by one more week.

    • +1

What was your issue? (ive had one as well, and CS from coles and FB was useless)

This has been the most infuriating deal i've dealt with, due to a FB's glitch / 'error on our end', and only just managed join tonight. Had to remake new accounts again.

      • +1

I paid for Saver a couple of weeks ago and I called Coles whether I can still use the promo
I was advised to cancel the current subscription and use the promo to rejoin, but it does not work
The system shows I'm still an active member

        • Yeah, I was in the same situation here
Existing members couldn't redeem, and had to hope their sub ended before the promo did.

luckily my parents account can get the offer now they've extended the end date

          • @OutOfTime: Oh… I should ask them to extend mine as well
            Thanks!

            • @Suricate: If your current sub ends and can be cancelled before the 27th of may, then that's the only way it will work unfortunately.

These kind of offers that reward new customers, and not the exiting paying customers, always annoy me 🙃

I ended up making a new Coles and Fb's account to take up the offer, as I didnt have either yet. Thats prob the only solution?

  • do you still get the extra free months if you cancel in the first month?

  • how do i avail the Coles Plus if :

You’re a monthly member. Your next payment of $19.00 will be deducted on 22 May 2025.

  • I got "Your subscription doesn't qualify for this promotion" :(

  • I had to wait until today for my account to be cancelled. I entered the saver code and it still gave me the 3 months free.

  • +3

    Offer extended to May 27.

  • For the SA crew, our local Foodland / Drakes has the 575g weetbix again for $2 a box.

This also means the ole +10% Colesworths will have it for $2.20 next week for those without an independent / Foodland.

  • I signed up successfully but didn't receive any email confirmation? Is there anyone else in the same boat?

  • Do we get 10% discount if we buy Cole’s mobile. Thanks

  • I have been pinged a $19 charge. My account says that, for both Coles Plus and Coles Plus Saver, the next payment is 20 June 2025, ie one month after signing up. However the Coles Plus Saver charge is to be $0. Seems I wasn't eligible for the Coles Plus offer.

  • So I just signed up today and says I have 8 days to use 10% off during May. Does that mean I can use 10% off in June , July and August too? Which is essential 4 months of 10% off ?

    • Once every calendar month.

  • I have perkbox an app that allows me to buy Coles gift cards at 4% off. if i go to Coles and get a gift card and load $500 and then pay for it using my Perkbox app to get me 4% off, can I use that Coles gift card to pay for the gift card (and then get a further 10% off - $50 - from the $500 i just spent?

    many thanks

    • +2

      No.

      Two problems with that approach:

      1. Coles gift cards (and any other gift cards issued by Coles Group, including Coles Group & Myer gift cards) cannot be used to purchase any gift cards at Coles. It is against the gift card terms of use to do this, plus if you attempt this at a checkout, when you swipe or scan the gift card, you will be greeted with an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal and will be asked to use another payment method.

      2. The 10% discount offer from Coles Plus Saver cannot be applied to any purchases of gift cards. It is against the terms and conditions of the discount offer to use it on the purchase of gift cards. Additionally, when I purchased a third-party gift card at Coles yesterday, the checkout did not give me the option to use the discount, but when I purchased groceries a couple of minutes later, the checkout gave me the option to use the discount.

      • +2

Thank you very much my friend. noted

  • Was able to get both deals, thanks OP!

  • -3

Why do I need a FlyBuys account!? FFS.
Just want to sign up for the deal, not the extra BS they want to add on

  • Nice deal and got both. Thanks OP. Was instructed to install a Coles Supermarket App (Ver.1), which is separate from the Coles App (Ver.6.56.0) I already have. But from what I see they are practically the same with different layout. Just a matter of preference.?

  • Just signed up. So we need to scan the barcode on the Coles app to get the discount? Does anyone know if we can just scan flybuys card since it is linked anyway? Woolworths would prompt you if you want to use the 10% off so not sure if this is the same or not.

    • If you scan the Flybuys card linked to your Coles Plus Saver subscription (and not the barcode from the Coles app), the Coles checkout will still prompt you to use the 10% discount and you will still earn the 2x points.

      • +1

        Thank you.

  • It looks like Coles Plus is 1 month trial plus 3 months free = 4 months
Coles Plus Saver is just the 3 months.

Is this calendar months? i.e. if you sign up today the expiry is 27/9 & 27/8 ?
Can you just cancel anytime in the expiring month to still get the full period?
Where do you see the expiry (I can't seem to find it on the website when logged in)

  • This offer ends today, does this mean that if I don't shop at coles until the 31/05 I miss out on 1 x 10% off shop?

    • +1

Sign up today to activate the offer & you then have until 31/5 to use the May 10% off (which has to be activated at time of your shop).

    • You can still use it 3 times: for June, July, and up until 27th-ish August.

And if you were to shop before may ends, its effectively an extra 4th month! comment explains here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15216064/redir
