      • Yeah that's standard protocol before the TIO steps in to intervene.

  • Now TIO advised this has been forwarded to Spacetalk, let see how many spam emails they will receive from TIO

  • Both fair trading and Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman rejected my complaints. Lol

  • Also consider submitting a one star honest review

    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/spacetalk-watch

    • +1

The fact that they cancelled without any notification or communication to date, they will be getting an honest 1 star review. They also have neglected to reply to a (nicely written, short email) two days ago, asking where my voucher is says it all.

    • one star? No, zero star at all.

  • +1

Total scam. Extremely unprofessional. Another TIO complaint lodged.

  • +1

If you paid through PayPal, just go into the transaction, select “Report a problem”, fill in the details and PayPal will refund you

    • How about afterpay! More difficult

  • They seem still happy to accept selling at full price. So zero communication or refund.

  • If you buy a SIM plan now, they'll send you a code right away, but the code shown has already been used too. Don’t ask me how I know.

    • lol really? This is crazy. This company is simply terrible

But I need to ask, how you know :)

      • +3

I actually bought one just to test it. Can you believe that? So it’s an issue with their system, not just because it’s $1 SIM plan promo.

        • Lol. I think They've done something post friday. Sim purchase before Friday were fine.

          • @Phirewall: not really, every voucher that has ever generated is mark as expired, including the new ones as @jimojr just tested TODAY

if you use their voucher before 26th of May, they were still ok and able to activate . after this time, all mark as expired

            • @ggfatty: Can we test each voucher without need to actually enter personal details and activate?

              • @eecchhoo: No, only if you're an existing customer.

  • Sent a complaint straight to TIO, hope they get fined.

  • +1

    CEO called

    • what did he say to henestto?

      • said needs to be activated within 30 days (not in terms) and can only have maximum 5 (not in terms) so refunded anyway; not a good experience

        • Oh ok lol how did you know it was the CEO? Sounds somewhat odd for the CEO to be calling but I guess they're not that big a company so…

          • @illumination: He fired everyone else i guess

          • @illumination: lol yep if CEO is doing customer service, imagine what kind of company this is

            offshore IT , offshore CS…

  • +1

Haven't got the promised refund on my side

  • +1

Received a call, refunds have started to come through as well.

    • Whats their number? It’s not even listed on the website

      • They called me via a private number unfortunately

        (08) 7078 2721 was the number provided by online support, however nobody picks up when you call.

  • Where do we put input the vouchers once we have them?

    • +2

You select a plan and apply the voucher OR on existing plan, add voucher to top-up (which will no doubt fail based on them being cancelled).

  • Is this deal expired now? Seems like it's still available?

    • You mean at $1? Showing full price on my side. Has shown full price for me since Monday

      • +1

The landing page is still showing $1 - the Click Frenzy thing. But when you drill down it's the higher price.

  • Tried to activate today however I received the msg the voucher has been used. Dodgy

I managed to purchase a few when this deal was first released and was planning to simslut over the next few months. Now im worried, by the time I can use it, it will be marked as "used" automatically from Spacetalk. For those who received the voucher codes, did you load all the vouchers at the same time on one account? If so, if I load 3 vouchers, will that expire in 30days or extend up until 90 days? thanks!

    • +1

Have you not read any of above and about them "All" being cancelled. :-)

      • he still does not believe it haha

    • +2

When you use a voucher code to recharge the plan, it resets the plan and any remaining data won’t roll over. I tried it myself last Sunday when all the codes were still valid.

      • I suspected it would start fresh from date of applying vchr hence didn’t try. Good to know…or at least would have been if vchrs weren't cancelled.

  • Anyone ordered with physical Sim and the $1 plan? Have they actioned full refunds yet? They have been slow to respond

    • Someone mentioned in the comments that they only refund the $1 voucher, not the $4 physical SIM.

  • Just received this: Your refund has been processed as requested. Please keep this email for your records.

    • Unfortunately I didn't use PayPal this time around which would have been easy to lodge refund, but used afterpay! Waiting for a reply otherwise next step charge back.

      • They will definitely give you a refund no matter what payment method you used. I really hope they can resend me new voucher codes.

        • Will see. Not settling for 1/2 paid products. Sim useless without any vouchers.

      • I just left a message on their chat, the refund was processed quickly.

  • So, can someone please clarify what the issue is with this deal? I purchased 2 x SIM cards via PayPal but haven’t received any codes from SpaceTalk. Should I be asking for a refund from SpaceTalk?

    • -1

Perhaps if you read comments you would know the answers. In short: Yes or if you reach out to them, they will send them.

  • I have been reading comments from the original post, hence I purchased 2 x SIM cards. I also read the comments that followed saying some hadn’t hadn’t received codes. I also read the following comments that some had requested refunds but only the $1 subscription had been refunded and suggestions that payments made via PayPal would be more likely to receive a refund. I’m just wondering, why the original offer has been redacted and if I should be requesting a refund?
But thanks for taking the time to reply.

    • +1

Not sure why I was negged as answered your question. Reach out to them and they will sort codes if you would like.

  • +1

Bah, even Optus with Cashrewards is better than this lot.

  • +3

biggest scammer of all, don't even have the ball to admit their shortcomings.

    • Oh wow!! So much hassle! Hope you get your refund! Others have mentioned referring them to the TIO (?), perhaps you should too? Good luck 🤞

      • +1

I contacted them again today, they told me they cannot handle the orders and vouchers sent out were invalid. they had already ran out the quota…Yah I think I will file a complain to TIO.

        • pls go for it. they deserve it

BTW I contacted TIO on day 1 and still no reply from spacetalk. No new voucher, no calls, no refund

        • +1

Interesting. No doubt they are reselling X number of supplied connections. Ozb then jumps onboard and hammers them over the weekend when nobody is monitoring and in turn totally stuffed things up for them.

I think if they communicated immediately with customers on Mon explaining the issue, then this wouldn’t be such a issue for them (and ourselves) as stuff ups happen. To date though, they still haven’t even bothered to make contact with many. Shocking service & communication seems to be their biggest flaw.

          • @Borg: 100% this, no communication at all for over a week!

  • Just lodged a chargeback with Revolut and was approved in just a couple of hours. Pretty impressed. In my experience other banks take weeks or even months to process chargeback.

  • I received the same email as you regarding the $1 mobile voucher code. But the voucher code I got with the refurbished phone, which was around half the price. The email mentioned they would send me the code after resolving the issue. I wish they can refund me the same way they did for the $1 voucher code.

  • +1

I'm currently on their plan (activated 1/9 on the first day)

Asked about the other 8 vouchers:

I apologize as we are still working to rectify this issue.

Rest assured, I will make sure you receive your voucher codes as soon as they become available.

    Kind regards,

  • Had to ask to get a refund after zero communication. At least it was processed promptly.

  • Thank you for contacting Spacetalk Support.
We’re sincerely sorry, but due to a technical issue over the weekend, your Spacetalk Mobile plan order was not successfully processed. As a result, the order will be cancelled, and a full refund will be issued.
If you prefer, we can place your request on hold and issue your voucher code once it becomes available again. However, please note that we currently do not have a confirmed restock date for the voucher codes. Given this uncertainty, we recommend proceeding with the refund at this time.
Please let us know how you’d like to proceed — we’re happy to assist either way.
    Warm regards,

    • I just got this message too. i told them to put it on hold until i get it.

Edit: They have just come back to me with:

      Thank you for confirming that

This order has been on hold until we get the voucher codes back in stock, we apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused you

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

      • They are more than happy to just refund everything.

        • I know, but I'm currently using the service from 1 voucher. If continue to keep it, I'm only paying $1 for approx a month for my phone for almost a year!

  • +1

finally, I got email to refund, all of my orders included physical sim cards orders had been processing to refund.
hope the refund won't take long.

after report to TIO, they changed to say they will refund all money included the physical sim cards.

    • That's great news for U! Did U have to return the unused physical sim card back to them before refund is processed?

      • No, no need to return. but all these happened after I reported to TIO, if I did not report, I do not think they will refund

        • if no resolution from Spacetalk and Afterpay by Fri, will go ahead TIO. Their “no refund on unused SIMs” policy can’t override consumer law.

        • Phew all sorted. Afterpay moved quickly very surprised, lodge dispute last nite 10pm. This morning all refund processed 10am. good luck anyone dealing with them!

    • What compensation did the TIO offer in compensation for your time?
Simply giving your money back is an easy out for dodgey businesses..

  • +2

Emailed them numerous times about the status of the order.

    Told to wait.

Now received a notification that a refund is being issued, after collecting our personal information.

    No deal.

Where can we leave an honest review, just google?

  • +1

For venting your frustration, you could also consider making your point on their social.

Lots of negs already on their fb/insta, so perhaps LinkedIn is the next go-to: https://www.linkedin.com/company/spacetalk/posts/?feedView=a…

Their Marketing Director has a pretty impressive resume, maybe he can help you remind their own company to honour their marketing campaign. https://www.linkedin.com/in/markkhademi?miniProfileUrn=urn%3…

  • yep this company is a joke, I'm still waiting for my code. Was told to wait.

    • I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Upon reviewing your account, the plans have been canceled, and a refund has been issued.
If you wish to repurchase the plans, they will need to be purchased at the original price.
Let me know if you need any assistance with the process.

      yea…not trying this company again

  • +1

My order was refunded today after being assured multiple times the vouchers would be sent if I wait a little longer. Not impressed!

  • +1

Unbelievable! Just got a mail from them refunded the esims only not included physical sim. They messed up themselves then refund the whole order. How can they not know how badly they've done this deal. What the hell! 🤬

  • Hi xyz,

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

Upon checking the system, I can confirm that a refund has been processed for your order.

All orders have been canceled and refunded due to a system glitch. If you would like to repurchase the plan, it will need to be purchased at the original price.

  • Just got 5 X new Codes from them after few emails sent, still haven't try the new code yet. ( I email them I asked to fix the issue or refund me )

    • pls try them and let us know

still no contact from them yet. But it will be good progress if they can actually send out the $1 vouchers

      Refund is easy way out

      • All the codes are valid, I received them from the order that wasn't refunded.

        • do you have to chase them up for it ? Or they initial the contact ?

          • @ggfatty: I contacted them once to ask why all the codes had already been used. Then I received an email asking whether I wanted a refund or new codes sent.

      • Can confirm. The codes working..

  • I sent SpaceTalk an email saying I still hadn’t received my codes and they gave me the excuse about the “glitch” and would I like a refund. I replied “if it means getting a full refund including the SIM cards”. I never received a reply but there was a deposit from SpaceTalk in my bank account today so I guess I won’t be getting my codes any time in the future. Grrr!

  • +1

I emailed SpaceTalk today that I was still waiting on my new codes and surprisingly I received them shortly after. They are all valid and 🤞they stay that way

    • 35GB codes you bought during the promotion?

    • +1

How many did you buy? I cancelled my order and they sent me 3 codes for free anyway.

  • +1

They refunded my order, and when I complained, they said: "Please note voucher codes are valid for 30 days once received … as a gesture of goodwill, we will be providing you a refund as we think you may have ordered these erroneously."

The 30-day expiry was not in their terms when I ordered. They added this into their terms after we bought the vouchers.
    Dodgy business…

  • I had to ask again for the status of my new codes and they were finally sent through today, all 8 of them. So far they all seem to be valid. Hoping they can stack for 8 months of service.

    • except see above post. Wonder if they all expire in 31 days?

      • yep, just got the email that the codes will all expire 30 days from issue. very dodgy if this was actually changed on the fly

  • *Before I purchased the codes for this offer I checked with customer service who confirmed they have no expiry date. I just received this reply today upon checking if this is correct;

'We apologise as it appears the incorrect information was provided.

Please note that Spacetalk Mobile services are for personal use only, and voucher codes are valid for 30 days once received - this would mean you would need to activate all of your Spacetalk Mobile vouchers within the first month to utilise your purchase.
If you were not aware of the voucher conditions, please see our Mobile Terms of Use for full details'

    • I just got the same, do you have a screenshot of the chat where they said no expiry? I heard other people mention that they did this as well.

      • Yes I have already sent the screenshot to them. I will post back here their response

        • I'm getting way too invested in this but here is May 20th 2025 from the Wayback Machine . Only a few days before the promo plus at the top of the Terms of Use it says the last update was 11th December 2023
