      This

This plan is a “SIM-Only” pre-paid service designed for use with a Mobile device.

      • +4

        Next churn incoming lol

Spacetalk is about to get a few thousand customers if the deal reaches front page.

        • It's a postpaid plan / credit check by the looks of it?

          • @tunzafun001: Not according to the mobile plan critical information summary

            https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46868/121737/screensho…

If they do a credit check , will be complaining to TIO

            • @easternculture: Hmm, there's a lot of red flags here.
The physical sims say they will be posted in February.

The captcha can simply be closed at the top..

              Unlimited timed vouchers

They refer to it as a mobile plan vs your document (nice work btw).

$10 sign on credit that doesn't work.

I bought a few through Paypal/ card with a good charge back process.

    • +1

It’s a postpaid plan. I received an account number after signing up.

  • +1

A product voucher code will be sent via email. This voucher can be used for both new and existing services.

Does this mean I can purchase 100 of these and it'll give me 100 vouchers I can just use on an existing service?

    • I bought 2, they sent me 2 voucher codes.
There is an option to select existing customer in the instructions.
Likely the promo vouchers have an short expiry date

    • It seems you can , I just received two codes, and there's an option to select 'Existing Customer'.

  • +1

Anyone notice an expiry on the voucher? Looking to use these for my parents in about 2 months

  • +1

Decent for churning, but you have to contact them if you want to turn off auto renew.

No idea how long the vouchers last for, if they have an expiry you'd think legally they would have to say when.

    • there isnt a way to turn off auto renew via website or app??!

      • +1

Nope, I think the easiest way is to put in a card that doesn't have enough money for the transaction, then it gets auto denied. Other than that, you have to message live chat.

        • seems like a hassle if you have to contact them to auto renew,

is there a live chat option or did you mean you called them?

even with the card they might keep attempting to recharge?

          • @AeymothSky: Seems like not, says if your card is denied you have to do it manually

        • Use a disposable virtual card, e.g like you can create in Revolut

  • does the esim for $1 come with the capability to receive text messages?

    • +2

Yes for 30 days you get a fully featured plan with talk/text/data

  • I'm a new customer. How do I make sure it doesn't auto recharge? It made me enter payment details at the end.

    • Prepaid card with low balance

      • Thanks. Also the QR code on the email doesn't appear, very odd.

        • Yeah, you gotta log into your account, it shows up there

          • @Pacify: Hmm where? I don't see it.

            • @Aidan9800: The QR code was on the front page as soon as you logged into your account on their portal

              • @Pacify: I logged out and back in and it appears now, thanks.

      • -1

Most if not all Telcos dont accept prepaid cards, I went down that path and got shelved

        • Not my experience. Always use prepaid cards with these offers

          • @easternculture: Do tell, as Coles and Woolworths prepaid visas dont, even says this in their T&C's (After opening the card)

    • +2

Sign up and get a Revolut card. They have single use and virtual cards you can load up with just enough money to use in these situations

      • +1

Yeah I ended up using my Revolut and just cancelling by live chat, thanks though.

      • I signed up to revolut today.

Seems the virtual cards just use ur main balance though, it doesn't have its own?

        • yes, but you're always free to freeze or delete the virtual card whenever you want.

  • +8

They use Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network, if it matters.

    • Nice but can’t self auto cancel via app.

  • Anyone knows when is the activation date?

  • +7

Just chatted and this is the reponse I got. "If you purchase the voucher code today there is no expiration date it remains valid until you activate it or use it to recharge your service"

  • Can we have more than one eSIM mob. no. (all from different providers) active on the same phone at any one time?

    • Depends on the phone.
S23U didnt allow me but S25U allows it

      • Thanks.

I suppose you can’t on an iPhone?

      • My S23U allows me to have a maximum of 9-10 esim I think.

    • +1

Yes if you have iPhone 13 or later, you can have two eSIMs active.

For iPhone Xs, 11 and 12 series, you can only have one eSIM active.

  • So $20 pm? Looking to get one for the kids

  • Noob question. Do most providers generally consider a user to be a new customer after 6 months of not being with them?

    • Not currently being a subscriber

      • You mean the x months can be widely different for different providers?

    • Use a different email etc at signup usually works as a "new customer"

      • Sorry I should have been clearer. I mean porting in and out with the same mob. no.

Do most providers generally have a 6 months period before treating you as a new customer?

        • Safest to port out to different provider, then back with different email etc.

Some keep your account details for longer than 6 months. Identified by mobile number. It varies. Have been refused as was an existing customer over 6 months after last use.

  • Are there any limitation about how much eSIM I can purchase?

  • -1

No just bought amaysim Sim for the JB trick

    • Buy one of these for an extra JB trick?

    • +2

      What jb trick please

      • Trick or treat?

      • +1

        https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/perks

JB Hi-Fi Perks to get $10 welcome coupon. So, $10 off your purchase.

I guess you don't need it as your name "ilovefullprice" :P

        • Yeah forgot about perks too 😢. Better hand in my ozbargain licence

        • Thanks!

      • The one why there's been so many plan deals posted on ozbargain 😉

    • Just dug through the FAQ's, it seems you can register for an E-Sim here: https://mobile-activate.au.spacetalk.co/

        • Weird support would tell you that, its very easy to activate the esim

  • If I bought the eSIM under my name, can I give it to other person and they transfer their number from other provider to the eSIM?

    • +1

The vouchers dont seem to be tied to anything, they are just vouchers. I think anyone could use it

      • Great and after we transfer to a new eSIM, can we keep renew monthly with a different voucher and keep going every month ?

        • So seems like the voucher to purchase new starter only so neeed to port out and port back in and purchase new 🆕 lan using diff voucher, rinse and repeat

  • I bought a boost 365 sim in January and it expires on September… but since then I've been churning. This is amazing deal for this. I would have bought more but i have to activate the boost one by sept..

  • +1

Thank you for contacting Spacetalk Support.

The Spacetalk recharge voucher's do not expire

Yes, that’s correct! You can activate your service using an eSIM and recharge it

Yes, you can purchase a couple of recharge voucher's and recharge your service every month. Our voucher codes do not expire and can be used to recharge anytime.

    • +4

can confirm that I bought 2
      activated with the first voucher
      and was able to recharge
      with the second code

      • So 2 months free

        • Just 30 days maybe data x 2?

        • no, just able to recharge the data
          (maybe because I recharged today)
so I think it would be best to recharge at 29days

      • why not buy a dozen to cover for a year?

        • +1

It looks like you can buy as many as you want even enough to last a lifetime.

          • +1

@jimojr: Unless they are doing a last effort grabbing cash before going under.

    • Cheers. Since they are happy with people buying a couple, bought a few more dollar recharges

  • +3

    Bought 10. 👻

    • Broden

  • 150Mbps max speed

Decent, but never heard of them so wouldn’t risk churning

    • They just using wholesale telstra, there's no way they are dodgy

      • Not dodgy because of that, because I’ve not heard of them

150Mbps caps is common for MVNOs

Some other providers intentionally take ages with porting out, isn’t worth the risk unless you know they won’t do that

  • +1

    7% cashback on ShopBack.

  • When will this promotion ends?

  • How do I disable the recharge?

    • live chat

  • So what can be benefited other than JB $10 welcome coupon?

  • Ordered 2, only got email for order confirmed.

How long should I received the emails for codes?

    • +1

Should be within 1 min, unless they caught up on the vouchers working on existing numbers

    • I bought the 10GB plan first, got the code immediately. Then I realised the 35GB is also $1, I bought again in a minute, but have got the code for 35GB, it's been 10mins.

      • same here, bought the 35gb one, and no voucher after 10 mins (order is confirmed immeditely though)

  • The QR code image for the eSIM is broken in the email, did anyone else have the same issue?

    • +1

It will be in your account when you login

      • Cheers!
