Join Eligible Medibank Combined Hospital & Extras Cover for Bonus $300 Digital VISA Gift Card (Limit 500 Claims) @ Finder

210

Finder is offering a $300 digital Visa card to eligible customers who switch their health insurance, including hospital and extras cover, to Medibank through the Finder Comparison Service ("Reward").
This promotion is only open to Australian residents aged 18 and over, and starts at 12.01am AEST 10 June 2025 and ends at 11.59pm 30 June 2025 ("Promotion Period").
The offer is only available to the first 500 customers who sign up to an eligible Medibank policy while logged into their Finder member account and clicking on the unique promotion link through the Finder Comparison Service in the same session.

Not quite the $500 cashback from the last deal but still pretty good all the same.
And would assume this stacks with their current $250/$500 and $200/$400 giftcard cashback deals along with the 6 weeks free sign on bonus.

Medibank practically paying people to take out their policies.

Important to note, from the T&Cs:

To be eligible for the Offer:

Be one of the first 500 customers to sign up and start cover for an Eligible Cover on the Medibank website via the Finder Comparison Service after 12.01am AEST 17 June 2025 and ends at 11.59pm on 30 June 2025.

    • Confusing… promotion starts on 10th June, but to be eligible have to sign up after 17th June?

This promotion is only open to Australian residents aged 18 and over, and starts at 12.01am AEST 10 June 2025 and ends at 11.59pm 30 June 2025 ("Promotion Period").

  • How do we know we are among the first 500?

    • +1

      You dont

    • You will find out it by 30/09😢

    • +1

I checked with customer service today and they said there are still plenty of spots till they reach 500

    • +1

The offer will remain available on Finder until this limit is reached, at which point it will be removed. Further eligibility details below.

This helps right, if 500 limit is reached then the offer's banner should no longer be visible as per the above statement on the deal.

    Iits like a lottery

now it is updated to starts at 12.01am AEST 5 June 2025 and ends at 11.59pm 30 June 2025 ("Promotion Period")

    • +1

Pretty unfair for them to change terms and conditions right?
I waited till June 10th to sign up for this one after reading the terms.
      Hope they honour it

      • Update: I checked with customer service and they said there are still plenty of spots till they reach 500

        • Did you contact Finder customer service or Medibank?

  • damn it only signed up medibank last week

    • If your policy hasn't commenced yet you may be able to cancel and then rejoin via Finder

      • Even if it has commenced, you could cancel as it's within the 30-day cooling off period.

However, that would also mean Total Days Absent goes up by those days (unsure if that's important to the OP).

No fund will backdate the start date of a policy (unless due to its own administrative error).

        • Yes, it has commenced. are you sure if I cancel and rejoin via finder it will work/?

          • +1

@ozbargainerlife1: Nope, Medibank is atrocious to deal with — I have no idea whether this scheme will work :)

          • @ozbargainerlife1: Not sure if it's worth the risk, you may lose out on your 12WEEKSPLUS offer as well if you're no longer considered a new member. Might be worth asking Medibank directly

Just churned to Medibank using this. The T&Cs say the name and email address must match the finder account, but when signing up to Medibank it says to use the name as it appears on the medicare card, which mine has a middle initial. So hopefully it still links up.

If it all goes through successfully, this should be a good deal. $300 from this deal + 6 weeks free + $250 premium payment (from 25000 points using 12WEEKSPLUS here) + ~$130 (Medibank cashback) + ~$50 gift card (5000 points from this deal )

    • Wasn't aware of the $130 give back. That's cool.

Signed up via Finder just then as well - did you get any confirmation from them that you're eligible for the $300? Signed up but have no idea and don't want to just wait until 30 Sept.

      • It looks like it tracked my initial click, and I got an email with subject "You’re so close to scoring $300! 🤑" but nothing to confirm once I actually purchased the insurance.

      • +1

the terms state the eligibility check is done on 14 August, so there's probably no confirmation after signing up.

I've just signed up for the same offer, hopefully it tracks and works out.

You sold me, just signed up using this.

    • +1

There's a small mistake above - the 25000 points can be redeemed for $200 premium prepayment (not $250)

    • FYI, points to premium payment can be redeemed only once per year.

  • +1

I just signed up and did not read this. Used Credit Card instead of Direct Debit. Not sure if this will be an issue :(

And I also have issues with name being different between Finder vs Medibank due to it being different on Medicare.

Pay premiums via direct debit and ensure payments are up to date at the time of the Fulfilment Eligibility Check.

"Maintain Eligible Cover until the Reward is fulfilled on or before 30th September 2025.."

Also, it's now "Be one of the first 850 customers to sign up and start cover for an Eligible Cover…"

  • Anyone got theirs?

    • Also, anyone know if I still get it if I churn out before it's sent (or 30/9)?

  • Just got a rejection email

    Finder Medibank Reward: Not eligible
Unfortunately, you didn’t meet the eligibility requirements for the Visa card this time.
    This could be because:
You're already with Medibank or had a policy in the last 60 days (excluding dependents coming off a family plan)
    You don't use direct debit
Your name and email don't match exactly between your Finder quote and Medibank purchase
    You're a Medibank employee
You signed up outside the promotion period (before 5 June or after 30 June 2025)
You didn't use the unique Finder promotion link
You didn’t meet the full eligibility criteria here.

    Have emailed them…

    • Do you have any clue as to why?

This is a perfect example of why I don't use aggregators.

      • None at all. Everything checks out

        • Which hospital cover did you take up?

    • Just got the same rejection email and I've made sure I've complied with the terms. Will email them also….

      Mine seems to have tracked

      You’re nearly there - here’s what’s next
Good news - we’ve confirmed your eligibility for the $300 reward ✅

To remain eligible make sure your policy remains active and your payments are up to date.

If eligibility is maintained the reward will be sent via email from our reward partner, Blackhawk, on or before 30 September 2025.

Got the same rejection email. I screenshotted everything if anyone needs it.
Also have in writing from both Finder and Medibank I was good to go / eligible when I signed up.

So simply asked for it to be lodged as a complaint for formal AFCA proceedings. They get one chance to get it right. Then it's off. Will not waste one minute. If I do..then my "desired outcome' will be $300 + $200 compensation per 14 days

      • So simply asked for it to be lodged as a complaint for formal AFCA proceedings

You mean the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman (PHIO).

        • I don't think this falls under PHIO. Finder doesn't offer the insurance themselves.
I agree with tunzafun001 that it's an AFCA matter

          • @cooni: Yep, you're correct.

I didn't realise that Finder has its own ADR arrangements.

  • Also got a rejection email. Made sure I am eligible.

    Emailed them

  • I also got the rejection email.

  • Hmm.. got a whiff of Bupa about it…. Finder making powerful enemies in the OzB army.

Did anyone actual get a success email?

    • Yes.

  • Mine tracked successfully

    • When did you sign up out of interest? Wonder if it was the second round?

      • I signed up on 29 June.

  • We would be glad to assist you with your eligibility review. To proceed, could you please provide us with a copy of your policy that includes your name, email address, and the start date? Once we have this information, we can conduct a more detailed investigation.

I have sent them my policy document I got on signup with all those details and informed them my next contact will be via AFCA complaint if not resolved. I suggest others do the same.

    • Yep. But there is a direct PHIO (Private health insurance Ombudsman) now.

      • Finder don't provide PHI - so it's not something PHIO would cover

        • +2

Says here the external dispute resolution is AFCA: https://www.finder.com.au/complaints

Sent my screenshots of policy, waiting for them to come back with a resolution before escalating. Will post outcome later.

          • @asun88: I think they can always say you're not in the 500 or whatever of the first customers…

        • Takes two entities to deliver this promo. Medibank are involved.

          I guess report to both!

But good point re finder / AFCA.

  • Thank you also for sending through the copy of your policy. I will forward this to the team to double-check. They will review your policy details, and if everything meets the necessary conditions, you will still be eligible for the gift card as we will process it manually on our end.

If you do not receive your gift card by September 30th, please reach out to us.

Let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to help!

  • Also got a rejection email, just emailed them back about it

    • Got an acceptance after ‘review’ what a disappointing process but will get the gift card in the end

  • Yep same. Have send them the policy for review. Sigh..

  • Hi cooni,

Thank you for participating in our Medibank promotion in June.

We are excited to let you know that you are eligible to receive a $300 gift card via email by September 30, 2025. To ensure you receive your reward, please keep your policy active and make sure your payments are up to date by that date. You will receive another email by September 30 with instructions on how to redeem your gift card through Blackhawk Network, our rewards partner.

Please feel free to reach out if you have questions. We’re happy to help!

But ummm my reading of the terms is that we should be free to leave Medibank now that the eligibility check has been performed?

    • No, as I think one of the conditions was to maintain eligible cover through to September 30, so you still need to be with Medibank until then.

  • Anyone successful with the review? I'm still waiting for them to come back to me…

    • Yes they came back to me pretty quick after I sent my policy saying I was eligible

  • Just got mine confirmed after submitting for review:

'We are pleased to let you know that after our review, we can confirm that you are eligible for the Medibank reward offer. You'll get your $300 Visa card via email by 30 September 2025. Make sure your policy is still active and your payments are up to date until you receive the reward.

Please check your inbox (and spam folder) by 30 September 2025. The Visa card will be sent by Blackhawk Network, our rewards partner. If it's not there, contact Finder's customer service team using the email you signed up with.'

    • Yep received the same. Hopefully the gift cards land.

    • Same.
No apology or explanation for their error.
Seems like a personal data collection exercise.
