    Had thisa while back.

To me, the design is very pretty. Nice felt like material on the case. A cool piece of glass on the earbuds. The lights to indicate uv function and battery life was also a nice touch.

    The main issue is:
    1) if it's windy, you're going to hear it. This does notnhave any wind reduction functionality at all.

Sound is nice, clean balanced. Not bass heavy.

Anc is mediocre. It's there, not as bad as the beoplay EX.

Battery life is around 5.5hrs from memory.

    For 99, it's pretty good.

    • What you're using now if i may

      • +4

Beoplay Ex 😅 love the sound.

Buds fe for short distance travel.

Bose qc ultra for long distance travel.

        • Which one is best for taking work calls so they don't hear background noise?

          • +5

@Savesome: If youve a samsung, buds fe is pretty good. Anc is amazing, sound is fine and mic is excellnt.

The jabra elite 8/10 (gen2) have highly rated mics too. Excellent anc and good sound generally.

You can try cheaper brands, but their mics are usually mediocre; Iwouldn't recommend them.

          • +3

@Savesome: Huawei freepuds pro 3 are insanely good at outgoing mic noise cancellation. I've literally used a jackhammer while on a phone call and the other party couldn't hear anything except my clear voice.

            • @Mischaseb: really? where could you get a Huawei product now? Remember my p30pro was impressive.

              • @Dalala: Yeah my partner still uses her p30pro; best phone ever.

I got mine on eBay but there still seems to be plenty of places to buy them. The freebuds pro 4 are out now but doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade over the 3.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review

      • 👍👍

  • +3

should i cancel my twx7 order and buy these instead?

    • Mine has shipped already!

      • +3

yeah it seems the twx7 has better battery life slightly, a metal construction while the 9 seems to be all plastic, and has more practical features than the 9. also some of the reviews say that one of the 9's earbuds will inevitably fail to charge after some time. idk maybe ill buy both, use both and sell the one i don't like

they use the same driver too

        edit: bought one anyway.

        • +5

Spoken like a true ozbargainer. Platinum membership heading your way.

        • +1

Yeah mine from Japan failed to charge to 100% after 1.5 years. Left year maximum 80% charge after 12hours. Full usage it lasts about 2hours non stop playing, then left ear dies and right ear keeps playing at 30% battery left. Also, what mildly annoyed me is that the case can only support 2.5 full charges of both ear buds.

Other than the shit battery, I would recommend getting them at $99 anyway. It's possible I got a bad piece.
ANC, like others have said, is mediocre.

          • +2

@Blitzfx: if mine fails after 1.5 years its still within warranty and i can return for a refund anyway. for $99 worth a punt

        • they're both shit i think. i cancelled my twx7 order after seeing it on display at jbhifi.

  • +1

Grabbed some to pick up tomorrow! Thanks for the post :)

  • +2

Thanks OP. Lucky I didn't get the ATH-TWX7.

  • Was bummed I missed out on the TWX7 but this made me feel better.

  • I was on edge for the ATH-TWX7s; good that I waited. Thanks OP!

  • +2

Wondering who have bought it for $449…..

    • Who ever has bought one and hasn’t opened it, return it and rebuy for $99

  • +2

Bought these in Japan when they first came out. Typical AT sound signature. Clean, balanced, detailed. Like their studio gear. It's a great sound that works well across every genre, which basically nothing can do at this price. (As mentioned the other features like ANC aren't really class leading though…)

    • +1

imo ANC is overrated, i never turn mine on lol.

  • -2

    Thanks bought 5

    • +1

      Is that you Broden?

  • +1

    are these worth it?

  • Does anyone know how these compare to the technics AZ60M2 in terms of sound quality?

  • +4

The reviews in JB made me think twice even if it's cheap..

    • Same as me, can get sony earbuds and jbl same functionality on these price

    • +1

worst case scenario if it fails just return it and get a refund, buy something else

      • jb-hifi for return policy for change of mind is pretty poor. It would not accept after open. At least that was my experience.

        • +2

I think the return policy is actually incredibly good for what it is - at least at the stores I've worked at. The only thing it doesn't cover is items where hygiene is an issue which I think is fair enough. They can't really be resold.

  • Awesome. Just ordered a pair

  • For price definetly worth it. I got the TWX7. Fit/comfort is awesome. Lots of customisable controls. I find the volume to be low compared to my others (jabra elite 10, samsung buds 3 pro, fe buds - i have a few). Bass is low as well. Not as punch as other buds.

The case is big..but looks and feels nice. Battery life on the lower side. Has mult-point which is very handy.

It has LDAC but i havent tried it yet.

For $99 there are better sounding buds…but i think for $99 these are probably these have the best fit/comfort & looks.

    • +13

So kids. Take note. This is what happens when you go on ozbargain after being at the pub all afternoon.

  • +1

Thanks. Ordered and $5.99 delivery with 48hrs good enough for the convenience. Work related tax claim noted

  • Thanks OP

  • -2

    just bought 3, thanks

  • Still these appear to be freaking annoying for a motorbike rider, cant have much protruding out.
    More specs found here: https://www.amazon.in/Audio-Technica-Experience-Noise-Cancel…

Sony XBA-X1 sounded decent enough but stuck out causing discomfort after 30-45 minutes commute. Samsung earbuds that came with a phone was surprisingly decent and could ride for longer

  • +2

Hows this compared to google pixel buds pro 2?

  • Thanks OP. Been wanting to get my first 'high end/quality' wireless earphones for a while. Last pair I used were the lenovo gaming $15 pair from aliexpress which were actually not too bad. I've been looking at the standard airpod 4's for a while, would this be a better buy? I wont use these daily, maybe once or twice a week. Also, are these good $400 earphones, or are they crap $400 earphones but good $99 earphones?

    Edit: Purchased anyways ily ozbargain

    • +3

      They would be the latter.

  • +1

    $450 RRP, really??

  • I am curious to know how these compare to regular wireless buds like Nothing Ear 2024, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, OnePlus Buds 3 Pro, Earfun Air Pro 4 etc.

  • Anyone who's got both Pixel Pro 2 and this could comment how do they compare? I've bought the pixel 2 pro and am very happy with the sound NC etc. But don't want to pass this deal if these are better. LOL

      thanks man!

i’m just so intimidated by th prompt i cld never’ve got that result myself

  • Don't know why I need it, hardly use anc except for flying.. Bought it due to fomo lol

  • Cheers! Bought a pair.

  • Are they good for running do you thinks guys ?

  • +2

A large number of reviews on Amazon and JB indicate that there is a high probability that one side will fail to charge after six months to one and a half years of use, should purchase an Extra Care Replacement.

  • +1

    Reviews don't look promising.

  • How do the 7’s and 9’s compare to the ATH-CKS50TW’s? I’ve been using these for 2 hours a day at the gym for over a year and they’ve been great. Audio quality was a little poor out of the box, but easily EQ’d within the AT app which made a world of difference

    • +1

I got these and love the audio quality, make sure you have the biggest tips you can fit on, makes a world of a difference if you are using a size too small and doesn’t make a complete seal

  • +1

Page not found.. looks like it's been taken off

  • How do these compare to the ear fun 4's? Those are the best buds I've tried at this price point. With wind ANC too

  • +1

    Just missed it :/

    • for same price cmf buds pro 2 are better. maybe fit isnt as good.

  • Charging Time:

    • fine print number 3

I don't know if i need it, but i know that i ordered it

    • Lol..ordered one even though i have one from 2 years ago.

  • Anyone got a message like this
Hi , unfortunately an item from order JB-xxxxx is unable to be supplied, please contact the JB Hi-Fi store on 02 8918 7400 to discuss.

    • same

      • Just wonder what can they offer or do with contacting them if it is out of stock? Any idea?

        • A refund and apology. Possibly an upsell.

    • I've got this in my JB account…

      Packed ready for carrier pickup

      Also got a tracking number.

  • +3

I got the golden sms of ready for collection

    • Same :)

  • +3

For those still keen, go into your local JB and see if they have any in stock. I just got lucky in my local. There is no sale ticket or anything on it so i got the guy to scan it and it came up as $99. He was surprised at the price as well.

  • Just gave them a call. Nothing left apart from Wagga Wagga for vic

    • TIL that Wagga Wagga is in Vic

  • Non in Brisbane, few left at Pacific Fair

  • Anyone picked theirs up? How are they?

    • +1

I picked up just an hour ago, haven’t opened it yet though

    • Thanks OP. Picked it up today. Haven't opened yet

      • Mine too. Picked up today and put them in the kitchen drawer as I just opened my pixel buds pro 2 literally three days ago from the other post!!

      • +4

These are great! Perhaps not to everyone's tastes, but they have a very neutral sound. Crisp and clear with lots of detail. Love these.

      • picked it up too, to my surprised there was a sticker on the charging connection of the buds thus they were dry.
sounds alright, compared to the original airpod pro but noise canceling seem pretty weak. Great for $99, absolutely would not buy for $450.

    • Mine just arrived. They wouldn't auto-pair, then ran out of charge, so they are back in the case powering up for my next attempt.

  • +1

I went to one store. They said it's a discontinued product, that's why it's so cheap.. It's not listed on JB website anymore. I wonder in the case of discontinued products. If it fails in less than a year. Would you get a replacement similar to the retail price or the discounted price you purchased for 🤔

    • +1

I had a similar experience before… they only refunded me the amount I paid.
If I wanted to exchange it for another product, I had to pay the difference beyond what I originally paid.
In this kind of situation, I think contacting the manufacturer for a replacement or repair might be a good option.

  • +1

Just received mine today, very very very impressed glad I didn’t hold off.

    • +1

they sound great although noise cancelling is lacklustre. even in the gym i dont have problems with the earphones falling out or anything like that. i will compare to the twx7 which i also bought but so far i prefer the audio of the 9's. also for some reason the 7's don't have a triple tap feature for the touch sensors, and don't have automatic play/pause when you take the earphones out of your ear or put it back in the case, it will still keep playing music.

      • I can’t comment on the noise cancelling as this is my first noise cancelling device, but so far it’s been really cool. I need to change the tips, it’s ever so slightly loose, happy they included so many different sizes.
