I don't quite get the fuss about this device.. Actually had a pair since around launch. Seems like every feature I ever want to use to not available in this region..(like Meta Live) - I get pissed about how long they look after their US base with seemingly forgetting to roll out features to other countries, even long after the feature came out. Underwhelming.

Wondering that myself. Reading what they do, my guess is lots of the features would just be wanky and not something I'd ever want to use in practice, when other already used devices would probably do it better. EG:
Listen: Presumably for audio playback or calls.
Call: Make and receive phone calls.
Capture: Take photos or videos.Things I could see them be useful for, for some people:
-Live streaming. EG Live stream yourself burning around the motorbike track, or skateboarding, lots of options. Probably a lot easier than stuffing around with gopros.People would use the capture one, to record in disguise to create cringe YT videos.

I think they would be useful if you work in the POV Porn industry or if you are working undercover for Police and have been tasked with gathering Intel, otherwise they are pretty useless.
Not being too "old man yelling at cloud here" but I really feel like the cameras should be made to look really obvious to anyone looking at them, I just have the suspicion these would be used for all sorts of nefarious reasons and people should have the chance to know they potentially might be getting recorded before they engage with people wearing these.
They have a big light on the front that indicates they are recording. There are ways to break the light but your run the risk of ruining the glasses.

I have one of these as I use them to record my job. I reckon the best way if you want to buy one is to get the transition lense so at least you can wear them at night as well.
Otherwise you are limited to only recording during the day :-)
How long can you record?

3 minutes but no time limit for videocall or livestream, all dependant on battery for those.
Mate has these and does a lot of track days every other weekend with a car group and records a lot of cool footage.
Literally the only use case I could imagine.
Would be great for things like mountain biking or maybe skiing/snowboarding maybe, but harder to justify the costs over just having like… a GoPro (or equivalent Chinese/Xiaomi action cam) and a helmet mount.
I have a pair, the battery life limits their use. Perhaps in the upgraded/revision.

Because these glasses are a privacy nightmare. You wouldn't want people to aim their smartphones at you or your kid and record, right? Well, with these glasses you won't even notice that.
No, you can notice them, there is a physical light that goes on the glasses that is hard to miss.
I would say smartphones are worse as there is no visible cue that someone is recording you.
When placing your order, just be mindful of the frame size. There are standard/medium and large options.
I refuse to even speak to anyone wearing these things. Dystopian.

I have the polaroid version of these and the battery life is pretty shit….record a handful of videos and transfer to your phone and itll chew up like 40% of your battery. There is a light that flashes when recording so people know if you going to be a creeper. I only switch em on when i want to record the kids riding their bikes around when i dont have my phone. Other than that i wear em because they do thebjob of sunnies but semi pointless with the dogshit battery life. Photo / video quality is good, but no stabilisation so gets shaky when you move your head too quick. For anyone thats interested.
I was on a work trip and the videographer was rocking these to capture some addition footage / extra stuff. More to play with and test then anything serious. But I started chatting with him and he told me the main reason he got them was to record his toddler so he doesn't always have a phone in his face. And that resonated with me too. I havent pulled the trigger yet, but I completely get wanting to have your hands free, play with your child and also not have their memories of you always holding a phone to their face….

Be careful travelling with these. I personally know someone who had them confiscated at a border, but not before a thorough round of questions accusing him of acting as a spy.
Which makes perfect sense, when you consider that smartphone recording is forbidden. These smart glasses have freaking cameras and microphones that can be potentially always on.

The low vision and blind community use them in various ways to gwt around but also so people can help them by seeing what tgey would normally. There is an app that connects them to someone that can help I believe too. Be my eyes is the app.

Oh video isn't compatable with Tiktok studio (let's you schedule videos). But works on Tiktok direct app.
