Grab your copy of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 or Mac office 2011 for $8 - $15 depending on what country you choose($8 for NZ, $10 for USA and $15 for Australia.
This pricing is only for eligible email accounts with company/education emails.

Also works with hotmail accounts but will cost you $30, because you will have to buy both the DVD backup copy and then add the license (as per ozbargainers comments, plz read thread page 4 and after).
From teh comments, MS charges $15 for the Licence first and possibly charges the $15 for the DVD later after its shipped. It is possible then to contact Microsoft and cancel the DVD to save $15 as per here.
Also note that when using a hotmail email, you can only purchase MS Office for Windows. Not sure why they dont allow to buy MS Office Mac when using hotmail

To Use with Hotmail:

Use any @hotmail.com address and then Program code 05383F4FAC.
But you better be quick before they fix the hotmail bug
Please all thank methos for the tip

If anyone is interested in the pricing of Office 2013, i got it from here

So, how about the rest of the Office SKU's? For starters, the traditional Office Standard will cost $369, while Office Professional Plus 2013 is priced at $499. Undergrads and doctoral students may want to check out Office Home & Student 2013 for $139.99. Meanwhile, Home and Business is priced at $219.99, and Office Professional 2013 runs $399.99.

Similiar to the deal i posted here that was for the 2010 edition

What will be stopping MS to deactivate the copies obtained with a hotmail account?

    • +2

Well surely we cant be blamed for their error here. If there were to deactivate, surely they'd be obliged to send everyone refunds anyway.

      • Technically, no. M$ emp can use hotmail as their official email, and the code provided is for M$.
So, as long as you are NOT a M$ emp, you do not comply with the MS HUP requirement.
        cheers,

  • +2

FWIW, I was unable to add to the cart using firefox or chrome. Had to use (spit, curse) IE and everything went swimmingly using a hotmail account.

    • +1

doesnt work for me in any browser including IE, plus for the (spit, curse) made me laugh :)

      • Can we presume you are using Win7 or 8?

        • Yes ofc. Win 7.

        • hmmm, then I don't know. Sorry.

        • What ie version that you use?

        • Whatever windows update gives me.

          EDIT: version 9

  • I've got this message after completing CC info and click purchase: Your payment could not be completed.
Did anyone get the same message?

    • Yes, I got that on my mastercard. Switched to AMEX and it worked.

      • Guiguy..how did you repay with another card..coz all I am getting is purchased ? can you guide me with that
        cheers

        • I had to create a new account and use a different card.

  • My order went through. Office13 installed. Do i need to activate it as I have not put the product key anywhere?

    • I think there's a key embedded in the link and it self registers. My copy was registered on the install.

      • Alright.
Then where is the actual downloaded software file? I had a quite large file downloaded when I bought Office 2007.

        • +1

Ahhh.. there's the rub. Everything is in the cloud. You get a small installer (setup) applet which then downloads and installs the program files.

Save the installer in a safe place, i.e. on a safe external drive, for future use.

If you want all files locally you'll probably need to buy the DVD copy.

PS: Many desktop software applications are delivered like that now.

          Cheers

        • Thanks for clarifying….:)

    • it's also in the invoice you were sent

  • +1

It worked with my Hotmail account with Australia as the location, using Chrome, but I had to select the backup DVD option before it would put it in my cart. Paid with an Aus Mastercard. Downloaded and installed OK.

  • Worked with Hotmail address, thanks OP…unfortunately 'add to cart' link is broken in all region variations and browsers, only works with the inclusion of a backup CD…so $30 total…still awesome!

  • For what it is worth, if you want multiple copies without paying 30 or making hotmail accounts, most companies I assume will have several aliases on each email. Examples are all [email protected] employees will have business unit specific emails like [email protected] and [email protected] and so forth which will probably work as well.

    • How can you get through the link without actually login to the email?

      • the email will go to your normal mailbox. the email address is different but its just an alias for your main one

        • I don't get it. Don't you need to own the email address to be able to forward mails from that email to your main email account?

        • He's saying if you already own the first email address, you might be able to buy additional copies if your company has alternate email addresses for different units etc.

  • +4

    Thanks easternculture and methos!

This is the first MS product I've ever paid for.

If their normal prices for everything else were like this, then I would pay for more of the products I use.

  • -2

I'd strongly suggest that people turn off this new cloud thing if they're visiting China on business. Your hotel's internet connection will probably steal all your documents.

    • -1

yes, while we're at it, we'd better all put our tinfoil hats on..!

  • Question.

I have a Macbook air that i want to install and run windows on - could i download this and it would work??

    • Once you have Windows running through Bootcamp, VM Ware or Parallels you'll be fine. I'm running the Windows version of Office on my MacBook Pro now.

  • Desperately need the Mac version but it's not letting me buy it. How are people getting it?

    • +1

They're not. Gone, as per a few posts before yours.

  • Worked for the @bhpbilliton.com domain. :)

    http://www.microsofthup.com/hupau//home.aspx?programCode=BDA…

Your organization's Microsoft HUP Program Code is: BDA4785BB9

Used Safari browser on the ipad and could purchase downloadable copy using MCard.

  • +1

Only DVD version works for $30 with the hotmail account.

  • For those people using Optus products, I suspect anything @optus.com.au will work. I'm not, so I can't check.
    I couldn't get @telstra.com or @telstra.com.au to work.

  • +1

Sweet OP =) ordered it with back up copy due to the download version was not able to add to cart.

Like people said $30 for office…still a great bargain. Cant you all remember office use to be selling for $150+

  • Great find.
I got it using my hotmail email address.

  • Sadly unimelb changed the way emails look for students and its now @student.unimelb.edu.au which isn't valid.

    • I was just thinking the same thing. Do you remember what it used to be? (It's racking my brains not knowing!)

Edit: looks like mine used to be @ugrad.unimelb.edu.au, which wouldn't work either.

      • We actually use to have quite a few different combinations for our student emails before the switch to using Gmail. Pretty sure there use to be one that was our username + some numbers (if we weren't the only one with the first name, surname) @unimelb.edu.au

  • Work with @utas.edu.au

  • Thanks guys. I just bought using hotmail via the $30 option. Is this a multi-user license? How many PC can i install this?

    • What time did you buy this? I just tried now and it has no option to add CD for a total of $30 at all.

It shows $15 but when I click ADD TO CART, the cart is always empty. Seems like game over for me.

  • hotmail does not work :
We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request.
    The following problem(s) exist:
Please contact your benefit administrator to learn if you are eligible and to retrieve your program code.

    • +1

Please use the above program code 05383F4FAC with your hotmail email address. You can only purchase it for $30 with the backup media in Australia only and it does not work for the download version anymore.

      • It's works. +1 up so people can see

  • The per-PC licensing model is stricter in this release. If you want to install the traditional versions of Office 2013 on multiple PCs, you’ll need to buy separate licenses for each one. Office 2013 offers no multi-copy discounts for traditional packaged software as Office 2010 does. Quote from ZDnet.

  • +4

    Great find. Thanks OP.
Got one with my new hotmail.com account + DVD.
$30 is still a very good price for office 2013 professional.

  • Thanks OP! Still works with Hotmail.

  • Purchased with Hotmail. I had a trial of Professional Plus installed so just had to put in product key to activate full version. Thanks for sharing.

  • wtf @student.unimelb.edu.au doesn't work

    • It's probably supposed to be for staff.

      • +4

        Get staffed.

  • My hotmail.com address seems to be working but I haven't got as far as entering CC details yet. I'm trying to decide if I should choose the backup DVD option or not. From posts in the 1st page of this thread it seems you can just download the image anyway, of course you would still need the key.

  • So I got my CD Key last night but when I installed it, it never asked for my key. Is this normal?

    • +1

Embedded key in the installer file. If you see the file name the key is also there as well.

      • Oh yeah! Cool!

  • I get the email but there is no link am I doing something wrong?

  • WA education - did not work

    hotmail account did work

However, when i try to add to my shopping cart i get this "Your shopping basket is currently empty"

but when i try to add the "Add a Backup DVD…" i get

    Country: Australia Currency

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 + Backup Media
    English
    Quantity: 1
    Works with: Windows
    $30.00
    Estimated Total: $30.00

How to get the office pro plus alone?

  • softcopy only - didn't add to cart. added with dvd backup. Worked fine with hotmail. paid $30.00.

  • Where is the link in the email

    • look for "BUY NOW >>"

  • +1

No way is Antarctica a part of the South America Region. Australia used to own that Place!!

    • Antarctica is cheaper than Australia, even though we Aussies have the largest claim on that continent :(

  • Hi I hit buy now what should it do then? Seems to just take me back to the registration field

  • -8

A deal breaker for me for paying $30 instead of $15….well i guess this is not gonna be my first Microsoft purchase

  • Every time I try and checkout, I get "Your payment could not be completed". I've tried using two different Credit Cards with the same result. Using a hotmail account. Any advice guys?

    • +1

Keep trying, I had the same problem, I tried for 5 times before it was accepted. It was very frustrating.

      • Was it accepted at 15 $ ? because I tried so many times , it wasn't worth it…

        • I paid $10.

  • I remember the days when buying a Microsoft Office suite was a crazed must (a couple of hundred dollars worth too), as well as an expensive antivirus software suite. Oh those were the dark ages then….

  • -1

It won't let me add to cart, but if I choose back up copy it adds it to cart $30! :|

Says product unavailable, yet I can add it to cart with the DVD back up! Why do I have to pay $15 for a DVD back up? :P

  • +1

Yes getting the same, still for $30 this is a super offer.

  • +11

I found the answers to some of the licensing questions asked above from Microsoft's FAQs.

On how many computers can I install the software?

    • 2 computers, either 2 PCs or 2 Macs, specific to the software that was purchased.

Can I purchase 1 copy of Office Professional Plus 2013 and 1 copy of Mac 2011?

    • No. You can purchase only one licence for either PC or Mac. You may, however, use the product key 2 times for 2 installations on different machines.

    https://www.microsofthup.com/hupau/faq.aspx?culture=en-AU

    • Well spotted, that puts the one serial one computer comment from earlier to rest.

  • nice one. Got it

  • I bought it! :P I cbf downloading it, so DVD copy worth it!

Actually suits me, as I dont wanna download it onto this PC!

  • I read few comments and I am a bit confused now, if I took a right decision to purchase.
Is the key valid for ever or time based?
What will happen, if we want to install if after installing windows again on the same PC. I understand we cannot do it on another PC as it is single PC, but what happens to the same PC again.

Any ideas from people who purchased 2010 earlier.

    • This is what Microsoft says:-

Who qualifies for the Home Use Programme (HUP)?

      • The Home Use Programme is a Software Assurance benefit available to Microsoft volume licensing customers with active Software Assurance coverage on their Office applications. Employees who use the covered licences at work are eligible to purchase these Office applications for use on a home PC during the term of their employment. This temporary licence expires with the employers Software Assurance coverage, or upon termination of employment with the covered customer.

But I suspect that they won't chase it up. In my experience, you can reinstall office on the same PC and you won't have problems reactivating it.

      • Does this include formatting the PC?

  • University of Tasmania - @utas.edu.au works fine.

  • I tried last night with my hotmail and i can add product to cart (download only) but it didn't work today with my gf hotmail account.

I have to select AU + backup media purchase ($30) and i can buy without problem.

    Well, $40 for 2 copies of office 2013 + backup media..definitely a good deal.

edit: both paid by CC (AMEX) and no surcharge.

  • NOTE: Using Hotmail address is now $30 minimum (including DVD), however employees of other large companies can still get the $15 deal!

    addresses that work:
    @ptv.vic.gov.au
    @transport.vic.gov.au
other government accounts should also work

    • +1

      or NZ$10 deal :)

  • Anyone received their backup CD yet? Is it the retail one or just a burned CD?

    • For previous HUP purchases, they usually ship Fedex from Malaysia/Singapore or something like that. The disc comes in an official case and the disc (for 2010) had official Microsoft markings and is hologramed with the markings Microsoft/Genuine and not for resale. Also clearly states Not For Retail or OEM Distribution.

The sticker on the disc does not include your serial which you received in the transaction.

So to answer your question, it's a specific HUP disc.

Edit: Just noticed DHL is free and Fedex is $30 extra this time round.

  • Dussk just beat me :)

    @transport.vic.gov.au

    works, as well as:

    @roads.vic.gov.au

easternculture thankyou very much for posting this deal! I bought it in the early hours of this morning using my hotmail addy and getting the cd version as a backup. This has saved me a ton of money, I appreciate it alot, cheers to you!!!

of course you also need a product key to activate :)

  • My @edumail.vic.gov.au address didn't work, so I just made a Hotmail account and worked fine. Thanks OP, good deal.

  • Great Deal Op Good Job :-)

  • +1

Can't seem to download the Mac version.

After clicking the email link it takes me to a page for the PC version, down below it says "Also available for purchase" but the area is blank…

  • -1

Anyone finding the hotmail address now works but when you try to add to the cart it simply doesn't??

    • +1

Add the Backup CD, but you'll need to pay $30 in total instead of $15.

  • i wonder how much is office 2013 originally?
