Ryobi 18V ONE+ 4Ah Battery Twin Pack And Dual Port Charger Kit $189 Delivered / C&C / in-Store @ Bunnings

720

Been a while since we had one of these Ryobi twin battery/charger kit deals. This is showing as 'limited time' on the Ryobi website so it's a promo. When it sells out, its gone.

Might be wrong, but pretty sure the last deal like this was August last year. That was the same charger but 2 x 5.0AH batteries for $239. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/863105

Charger RRP is $169, 4.0AH twin pack RRP is $199, and a single 4.0AH is $149 RRP.

Fair bit of stock around and now available in W.A. https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0873101

This deal probably best suits those who want a better charger than the single one that comes with most kits. Or if you don't want the charger, you could just sell it and end up with some pretty cheap batteries.

Does not appear to be available in WA

    • I didn't check on that. Will add it to the post. Thanks.

    • Quite a few of W.A. stores are not showing up with high stock levels

I can't remember when, but it was less than 3 years ago. Bunnings had a 4 x 5ah batteries pack deal for only $240 or $250. No charger included.

‘Charger RRP is $169, 4.0AH twin pack RRP is $100, and a single 4.0AH is $149 RRP‘

Where can I get a 4.0AH twin pack for $100??

    • That's the bigger deal there

    • Doh!, A missed typo, thanks and fixed.

    • not even on marketplace lol

  • Oops! This product is no longer available.

I got the 4ah ones on a previous promo. They seemed cheaper quality than my previous batteries (not sure if this is their new style). They were the same size and approx weight as my older 5ah and were missing any rubber over moulding protection. Still a good price.

    • That's the new style, seems to be going backwards in terms of overall finish?! Only plus is the rubber would wear down over time and look tattered depending on use

These are great fast chargers. Got one the last time round.

    • Agreed, the pro to not having the brick AC/DC unit plugged into the mains socket is with it alone

  • +2

    Just need a 36v deal

  • Great charger, BTW.

    • I second this, best Ryobi 18V charger IMO.
Standard power plug is a big bonus compared to the big block ones.

  • oh sweet, didn't even know it was a deal when i got it last weekend.

  • As usual, my pathetic local bunnings (98k's away) does not have stock … might be the smallest Bunnings in Australia … but FFS stop making us feel like 3rd world beggers!

    • free delivery i believe

      • Onepass membership was a wast of $ normally denied free delivery or often delivery at all because of living remotely.

        • I live in a rural area, and it shows standard free delivery for me. How much is it for you?

          • @mange: I'm not a onepass member, free delivery is for onepass only & as I mentioned, it hasn't worked out for me as I get "Denied" due to region far too often! NOT paying to get denied!

As usual, my pathetic local bunnings (98k's away) does not have stock

Lives in woop-woop, complains about woop-woop not having all the things you can get in major centres…
Have you thought about moving closer to the where the things you want are?

      • When I drive 98k's to Bunnings I'm no longer in "Woop Woop!"

  • I don't own any tools yet. I will need some soon. Is this deal good enough to jump on to Ryobi ecosystem? Or is this Ozito deal better?

    • Yup, not a Ryobi owner, went with a dearer brand as I'm building on a property, Ryobi's accessories have always! let me down, but their power tools are worthwhile according to the honest reviewers on YT

      https://www.youtube.com/@731Woodworks

My experience with Ozito has been very disappointing, DOA stuff in a set & one tool that had a intermittent fault that had me wanting to smash the thing on the floor at Bunnings service counter as everytimne I took it for exchange the fault would not show, 2 x brushed 115mm angle grinder burnt out, the second one burnt out running under no load, LED light died in the kit, as did the brushed impact screwdriver, long warranties don't help when you're several hundred k's from a Bunning! & don't have an alternative & are working away from power outlets & need battery tools, but I'm assured the brushless stuff is better, other cheap stuff is outright nasty! (UX1 being an example)

    • We used them exclusively in a workspace environment.
Their rattlegun stripped down over 300 cars before a brush started wearing out (still worked, just had a dead-zone, you had to spin it past).
I have a chainsaw I use very often; the chain was pretty crap but once it went blunt I replaced it with a higher end chain, and it's a little beast.
I use the diegrinder for hours on end porting and polishing manifolds.
The Hammer Drill has been through more sheets of steel than I dare think of.

The only bad tools from them I've found are their 18v whippersnippers (they're not moisture sealed and the screw up QUICK). and the entry level drill (pay the $20 more and get the hammer).

      • Are you talking about Ryobi or Ozito?

        • Ryobi.

Iirc the brushes wore out on car 327; thats hundreds of bolts per car too, because the workshop sold used parts.

Like a high end 'we strip and prep' wrecker.

Is this deal good enough to jump on to Ryobi ecosystem?

Just walk past any building site you will see these everywhere for good reason. Sure the are not 'The_Best_In_The_World' but 99% of jobs don't need 'The_Best_In_The_World'.

  • Didn't exactly need, but for that price it would have been rude of me not to buy!

  • +1

Ryobi make garbage batteries in my opinion. They don't seem to balance the cells so they die prematurely, well before most decent brand battery packs.

    • What’s premature? I have some 5+ years old that are still going fine…. I do keep them topped up though (only store them full).

  • Thanks OP was looking for some replacement batteries… I'll have another charger too

  • I currently have this drill driver combo from DeWalt
    https://www.costco.com.au/Home-Improvement/Tools/Power-Tools…

I also have several Ryobi HP tools but only one 4Ah battery as none of the HP tools come with batteries 🫩

Should I return the DeWalt drills to Costco and get the Ryobi HP drill driver kit ($350) that comes with 2x 4Ah batteries, or keep DeWalt and get this deal to bring my battery stockpile out of the abyss?

    Ryobi Drill Driver kit: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-hp-brushless-compa…

    • I'd keep Dewalt stuff over the Ryobi, but I use my tools every day.

  • Very good timing, late winter pruning around the corner. Plenty of stock about, purchased from Windsor Gardens SA.
Batteries look and feel solid enough and charge station is nice and quiet.
Have the extension pole pruner and the pruning secateurs that scare the shit out of me.
Sure one day I will be typing with less fingers.

    Thanks OP.

    • +1

Definitely when you use the pruning secateurs, keep your other hand well away from the the nasty end of them:)

  • Do people generally upgrade to the Ryobi 18V Lithium High Performance 5.0Ah Battery?
Trying to decide if it's worth to get these or just get a better battery?

    • The bigger batteries are noticeably heavy … I use my 2ah ones the most as the tools are easier to handle, especially in tight spaces. The higher amp batteries do have more oomph though.

    THEY HAVE YOU!

Corded power tools man, nothing wrong with them. But yeah cordless drill is the go to. But yeah. We pay more now to use power tools, or do we, ah yeah we do considering its ryobi.
How many times have you been caught out, shite its not charged. But gotta do it.

Considering these twenty year olds… its broken or faulty. TRY HARDER. it works if you try again, HARDER. OR RECHARGE IT.

This post says no stock in WA. But down south Albany, WA is showing 28 in stock on the stock checker, but when putting item number into PowerPass app it says out of stock.

Went in store and looked behind the toolshop counter could not find any special tickets or 2 battery +charger combo,
I didn’t get them to check in the system though.

  • Am I blind, or is this not coming up in the search when trying to register the product with ryobi?

    • Nevermind, it's there now

  • +1

Looks like back in stock for WA

    • Thanks, will change the description.
