OZB_TAXBACK_$500OFF

Hi OzBargain,

Thank you for your support with our EOFY deals, we were so backed up, and there were delays. We have caught up with the majority of them and now have the time to do our first taxback deal with a bonus $20USD Steam gift card from ASUS* (with the ASUS PRIME B650M-A II-CSM motherboard ONLY)! Still excellent value with the 7800X3D CPUs for its performance paired with the 5070 Ti/5080 for people that are after a beefy rig! With an upgraded air cooler, the AK400 is more discreet with no RGB and a better cooler than the standard AG400.

Out of curiosity, how do they get away with calling it the Kindle? Isn't that a trademark?

    • +1

Amazon's trademark is probably registered in a different class but it does seem like an unnecessarily risky move from Nebula (especially if Amazon were to get up on an argument for infringement under s 120(3) ("Kindle" is probably so well known in Australia that such a claim might actually be viable)

  • +7

I would say with the recent sub $500 7800x3d deals recently this is probably sitting close to cost - IE for 5070 ti build you could save $250 on price of 7800X3d and save $200 on the PNY 5070 TI (1399 at MSY) brings the PC part picker price down to $2450 which is about the same plus delivery.

Nebula consistently offers good deals and service, but in this case I don't feel like we are in the 'there is no way I could build this myself for that cost' range for this deal specifically.

    • +2

Tried building one on pcpartspicker here
$2584 for 5070ti. Higher quality components, better case.
But I've seen deals on OzB, where I could've further saved at least $150, with ebay GPU deals, cashback and so on.

So, your take is spot on. This deal isn't a spectacular deal on its own.

    • +2

thats if you buy CPU from Aliexpress

  • +6

Didn't your competitor do the same 5080 config with a 9800X3D yesterday while you are doing the older and cheaper 7800X3D for the same price ($2888)?

    • -3

Nebula is living in the past

    • -1

its called options, buy what you like mate

      • +1

Options are great and competition is great too for us consumers. But just saying that the deal is a day apart and really might need to do that a little better to price differentiate.

        • There is one big difference, one is in Adelaide and one is in Sydney , warehouse space rent etc in Sydney is higher , the difference is really not that big and they probably use different components, I didn't really check but if I was buying few $$ extra is not a big deal as I'm in Sydney , now if you can find a cheaper set up in Sydney then you might have a point

          • @botchie: Yes and no.. Arguably you buy a tier 1 brand - HP, Dell, Lenovo and they are mostly made and shipped from overseas to Sydney or anywhere around Australia. Of course, these local PC shops aren't comparable in supply chain, but if they pack their machines well, then there's not that much difference. I suppose the only real advantage maybe is warranty / returns / replacements which Techfast lacks a little against competition.

          • @botchie: BTW.. it's not a "few $$ extra".. the option to go from 7800X3D to 9800X3D is $300 according to their website.. so it's still nowhere comparable.

      • It's an objectively worse option though lol

OzBargain culture, it’s illegal to pay more than you have to.

      • If that's the case, I wouldn't be neg-brigaded. But maybe it's because I crossed affiliate marketers 😂

  • When will the A3 wood case in black be coming back?

    • +1

Stock is delayed for them, unfortunately. If no additional delay should be approximately two weeks from today. We can arrange the case change if you'd like after you make the order or enable the option for you :).

  • Shame that your deal comes with the vastly inferior Gaming Pro S model of 5070 Ti, rather than the original, thicker Gaming Pro or Gaming Pro V1 (why, why, why Palit do you cause so much confusion within your own product stack? The Gaming Pro S could have been called the Infinity to line up with the shit-tier Palit 5070 non-Ti…)

    • We have other brands and models available on hand if you have a preference, PNY non-RGB model, or GALAX 5070 Ti EX Gamer 1-Click OC is also available at the time of this reply. Please email us, and we can put a note on your order to have your preferred model and brand.

      • Definitely worth mentioning in the OP if they are all zero cost upgrades - the regular Gaming Pro (non-S) model is probably the best out of the budget ones though

        • +1

Don't have Gaming Pro 5070 Ti on hand at this stage, sorry :(. Yes, they are all zero-cost substitutes for the ones I listed in my previous comment.

doubt you can do techfast deal 9800x3d/5080 for 2888 ;(

    • -2

Ofc they won't. These guys (and evatech) have neg squads too

  • The first of these PC builders who can deliver an SFF no-LED clean build with a 7800/9800x3d and 5080 or better GPU at these prices is getting my money.

Yes, I understand you can turn RBG off… No, it’s not the same.

  • +4

Negging this because the motherboard is an absolute shocker, especially its VRMs - you'll be throttled under load, especially in that case with those fans.

    • +16

Understood, I've updated the GIGABYTE B650M Gaming PLUS motherboard as a no cost substitute on the builder for anyone who prefers but won't be eligible for the $20USD Steam gift card promotion.

      • +3

Good move. Appreciate that you take feedback seriously.

      • I do love these deals.. but isn't the GIGABYTE B650M Gaming PLUS also poor with only 5-2-2 VRMs?

        • +1

We do have some others on hand where VRMs might be better; however, other features might not be suitable. In terms of other features, the GIGABYTE B650M Gaming PLUS would be the most similar to the one offered by ASUS. Nevertheless, for people who might be more concerned or prefer better VRMs compared to other features like DIMM slots and more, I've added the MSI B650M Bomber Wi-Fi motherboard that comes with likely an 8-phase setup as a no-cost substitute. MSI doesn't publicly state the exact VRM phase count, however from online forums, it's very likely to be an 8-phase setup, rendering it better than GIGABYTE's B650M Gaming PLUS VRMs setup.

Options are limited within this price range with sensational VRMs, unfortunately. However, we will do our best to try to provide the best value options available on the market.

  • @Nebula PC I made an order earlier this week, can I change my order to one of these?

  • Hi, newbie here, If I choose own OS, how does it work?
Or can they install a Win 11 using my OWN keys?
    Thanks :)

    • It means you'll need to install an operating system of your choice once you receive your system. We are unable to install Windows without a license purchased, unfortunately.

      • How do i do that?

        • There are lots of resources online for this, we'll be happy to help if you need.

          • @Nebula PC: Thanks. Do you happen to have deals on 32" QHD monitors? Looking to buy 3

            • @cheekybargains: Not many on hand, our most popular is our 27" 1440P 180Hz monitor.

  • Ordered my PC from Nebula a month ago, it's still on the other side of the country with seemingly no change in status this whole week.

    • Are you in WA? Freight to WA is by express rail rather than road, where it'll stop in Adelaide. You won't see another scan from Sydney until it arrives at the Perth depot. Usually takes 4-5 business days without delay.

      • Thanks for the response :)
My last update was 'sorted to chute' does that likely mean it's currently on express rail then?

  • I just ordered byo gpu build. Does the 750w Gigabyte power supply have an outlet for a 12 pin connector for my rtx 5070. I’m new when it comes to computer tech.

  • Hi again, I wanted to get the MSI liquid cooler but they're out of stock. Any idea when it will be back? Dont really need RGB

    • Or is there an option to have dual tower aircooler?

      • @Nebula PC I'm about to buy but I want a dual tower like thermalright peerless assassin 120 se. AK400 might not be enough for me, especially in summer

        • Yes, we have MSI M240 ARGB AIO in stock. I will add it to the system builder now.
