I always consider this builds unbalanced. That is a too expensive CPU for this GPU. It costs like 30%+ of the whole building for little gains. Especially when you use it with a low end board.

Theses 3d CPUs are better with high end GPUs.

That should be paired with a ryzen 7700 or 9700 max

    • +4

Can definitely consider the 7700 next time however considering the price difference to performance, the 7800X3D is better value for OzBargain in my opinion however please correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit: For the meantime, I've added a 7500F CPU option for people who don't require as much CPU grunt.

      • +1

You need to review the details of this deal, description says 9060xt.

        • Fixed, sorry typo in the description.

    • +4

Even a 7600X is a good match with the 9070/XT. The 7800x3d/9800x3d needs a 5080/5090 to make best use of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpN4nyftQ3M
      Poor motherboard too.

      • -1

depends on the game really as that video shows. Warhammer 40k the 7600x bottlenecks even the 9060xt depending on resolution and quality setting.

  • +1

Is there really that much difference between a 7800x3d and say a 9600x for nearly double the price?

    • +3

For CPU-heavy games, the 7800X3D will perform better, though not all users will be playing CPU-bound games. Understandably, with the pricing of the 9600X, it's most definitely worth considering for lower overall cost. Will look into the feasibility of more budget-friendly CPUs with these RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT rigs.

Edit: For the meantime, I've added a 7500F CPU option for people who don't require as much CPU grunt. Performance is quite similar to the 9600X, just slightly behind or sometimes the same on some benchmarks/games.

      • Well dont make it more tempting! My wallet doesnt want that.

  • +1

    Any options for worse GPUs

    • Check their "other deals"

    • Yes, lots available starting from RX 7600 or RTX 4060.

  • Quick Question, what is the case used in the post image? I'm looking for a similar matx fishtank case that also has 360mm radiator support on the top and 2x 120mm on the front. Any help or alternatives would be greatly appreciated thanks

    • +1

The case in the image is the nebula N6 I think. Unfortunately you can't buy it without buying a build.

      • Dang, do you know of any cases that are similar to it? And why don't they sell this case separately?

        • +1

Youre not missing out on much looking at reviews. Bad airflow with no front intakes

          • @Fergy1987: Yea it doesn't look to promising, shouldve checked the reviews first. Just feel that my current fishtank is quite large

          • @Fergy1987: I've been wanting to see their cases, what they look like, and where all the USBs etc are located. Can you link to the reviews?

    • the pictured case doesn’t have any fans on the front btw, those two are on the side

    • It's our Nebula N6 case, due to the dual glass design of the case, there isn't a front mesh panel for intake fans. However, the case has two side intake fans.

  • When’s the LIAN li dan a3 black-wood coming back in stock? One of your other deals interesting but I’m after that case

    • Stock delay on them currently, ETA is approximately 2 weeks from now however, I don't want to list in case of any further delay. If you're after the A3 case let us know and we can enable the option temporarily though please keep in mind ETA is an estimate and not accurate.

  • Any estimated time until your MSI water coolers are back in stock? This deal is perfect for me so I'm going to see if I should wait a bit longer or buy it now.

    • Got some MSI M240 on hand, will list on the Volt now :).
