Be sure to read the warnings posted on Whirlpool etc. specifically about buying iPhones from Kogan before purchase!

can you give us a link Gavan - and do Kogan sell australian stock or?

      • +1

        kogan sells overseas stock

      • google on "whirlpool kogan iphone" and you'll find a wealth of info. The main thread has now been mentioned here.

    • Why downvote this? He's making a legitimate point!

A fairly comprehensive Whirlpool thread that has convicted me to pay more and purchase locally.

No warranty from apple australia needs to be considered.

    • +2

i don't see what the problem is, buying an S3 from kogan doesn't give you aus warranty either

      • +2

It's not a problem, but it's something to be considered.
Kogan gets positive votes for the price, but not necessarily for after-purchase support.

its a big problem not having warranty. how old are you? 5? these things break very quickly

        • +3

how old are you? these "things" doesnt break very quickly if you use and take care of them probably. I have an iphone 4 for 3 years, no problem. You still get full 12 month warranty from kogan, so of course its not a big problem.

i'm just saying every time there is an apple deal from an overseas supplier, warranty always gets mentioned. but if its not apple it rarely gets mentioned http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/84563

i've also had plenty of electronic devices and i've never had to get one repaired

        • +1

I won't say these break very quickly but yes electronic devices can break unexpectedly at any point n time. Therefore having a local warranty is handy doesn't matter if Apple or Not. This is a good deal but in saying that u find alot of brand new sealed iphones selling for that price on ebay or gumtree as alot of ppl sell their plan upgrade.

I just lost an iphone 4 todY unexpectedly without any reason, just took it off charge n gone… And bought a brand new sealed iphone 5 64g for $750.

        • right you are!and even if somth goes wrong with the grey device, the savings on the price is much bigger, than the repair cost

  • i believe its fixed now its saying 619 for me

  • +1

does this ship with jellybean 4.2.2

    ;-)

  • Well apple products don't have the so called Australian Warranty.
their warranty is international and it doesn't matter where you have bought your devices from.
If you get this iphone 5 from Kogan, you DO get full warranty in any Australian Apple stores.

      • Speaking from personal experience.
My UK iphone 4 developed a fault, got it exhchanged in Perth Apple store with no problems. they only checked my serial number to make sure it was still under warranty. My friend also got her china unicom version of iphone 4 repaired under warranty in Perth apple store about one year ago.
The policy did say they "may" reject, but I guess it depends on which Genius you speak to

  • I cant access this deal, I automatically get directed to Kogan.com with a $689 price. Any ideas

    • It appears that the Kogan deal has expired and I have updated the expiry on this post.
