      That probably just heat from the Wifi radio or 3G unit traveling around.

      I had real issues with the external SD card though - might have a dud. I keep getting "SD card unexpectedly removed" messages. Tried with two new SD cards of different brands. Seems to have settled down (hasn't happened today yet) but it doesn't exactly fill me with joy.

        Is that 2 internal storage partition set by default by the manufacturer because I found that one for apps and one for storage if I don't have a SDCard installed.

        My Galaxy Nexus have only one 16GB partition.

          I am talking about using a physically removable micro SD card. All kind of weird issues with it.
          I think you can't send any apps to SD without rooting since Android 4.0 Extra stupid and annoying choice by the developers as apps have really bloated out in size recently.

          You can still do it in 4.0+, google around. You basically need to use the adb and debugging mode to toggle a switch, then App2SD should work without issues.

          You don't need the app2sd, first set the default storage to the external SD. After that you will have option under manager apps to move to SD.

          BTW I am actually asking difference thing, I am wondering is all the 526 by default comes with two partitions in the internal memory?

          Seems to get stuck on 'Scanning directories…'

          I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it always get stuck when scanning "App Storage".
          First it was getting stuck on TuneinRadio, so I deleted it. Now it's getting stuck on VLC..

          Maybe there is some kind of glitch in the firmware relating to the external SD card reader.
          I had all kinds of SD card issues and weirdness yet the phone itself works fine.

          Also when I plugged the phone into my PC, 3 options popup but no option for charging only. In that case apps on SD or Internal won't work.

          Yep, same…

          When connected to PC and I try and launch an app on the SD card, it says "App isn't installed". Internal apps work fine though…

          If you select photo or media, apps on SD will run but not apps on internal.

          All I had to do to get apps installed on the external SD card was set the SD card as the default/preferred location in settings. Wahoo 32Gb's for apps finally. been stuck on 2Gb internal for soo long now.

          I love this phone.

      yes I find the G526 to be smoother overall than my S2 too.
      4G speed on top of that is icing on the cake.

      only downside of the phone is the lower megapixel camera.
      It allows immediate shots and very smooth review of photos though.
      Photos are sharp when sized down.

      Its great for the price, but I still don't find it as smooth as my gnex. Its probably a combination of 4.3 and using nova launcher on my gnex. The camera is crap, but is expected at this price point. I haven't tried any games on it, but I'd imagine they'll perform better on this than on my gnex or s2. Huawei has certainly set the benchmark for sub $100 phones, its quite complimentary to them that they can be compared to a couple generation ago flagship phones, and actually are better than the flagship phone's in some respects. :)

        Give them a call and find out, I think on that order page they have a number there.

        Like years ago when I ordered the few dollars headphone I have the same problem and finally found out they didn't have stock but just kept said as processing.

          I did a click & collect first, then i saw in their T&C's that you can't click & collect prepaid phones. Thinking it would get cancelled, I ordered one for delivery, then next morning I get an email to go pickup my click & collect…
          Not being a greedy person, I then called to cancel my delivered one, only after I collected from the store…

        Yeah I know, but my cheap $49 Samsung Galaxy 5 was a super solid build construction. Just expected the backing on this to fit a bit snugger. Maybe I just got unlucky. It's not a huge issue anyway, and I'm hoping a gel case wrapped around it might eliminate the problem.

      Shut off the modem/router & let it sit about 5 mins. before powering up again. If that doesn't do it, restart the phone, too.

    Honestly DSE have been PISS POOR with their service on this item (for me anyway).

    Paid for the item back on 06NOV13 - and my CC has been charged on that date and only today receive a tax invoice - I'd expect better from a private vendor on Ebay let alone a division of the largest retailer company in this country!

    Upon calling both retail store and online sales team got completely different messages as to what they could do and when items would be sent out…..one saying pick up instore possible other refusing point blank and saying my order had to be cancelled to do this!

    5 days ago I was told by online tema my item had already been dispatched to me via courier and yet this proved false and online order status still shows 'Awaiting Fulfillment'.

    Clearly they ran out of stock and oversold but is it too much to ask that this somehow be conveyed to people who have ALREADY PAID for the item? Very unimpressed with the miscomunication and lack of basic customer service shown post sale.

      I was lazy and emailed the sales team, which went to a ticketing portal that I had to sign up to. Didn't get any reply, so checked the ticket. It had been marked as 'resolved' with no notes at all … If I hadn't received the email this morning, I was going to get mildly annoyed.

      Huawei offer boot unlocking, but this model isn't on their form selection. Some people have emailed Huawei for codes and got them. Might be worth a try.

      Is unlocked bootloader good for other things?

      I got the Kindle Fire HD, which has a locked bootloader, but hackers soon found a vulnerability that allowed installing a second-level bootloader. However it is a popular device. Don't expect much 3rd party support for the G526.

        Kit-Kat would be awesome, hopefully we might get a Kit-Kat custom ROM or two.

        An unlocked bootloader also allows you to perform full nandroid back-ups, so you can easily restore the phone if things get messed up, plus you can perform other functions, wouldn't mind looking into adjusting the partition sizes too.

      Yeah. The only launcher I've found that enables transparent icon backgrounds is Nova. Solo, APEX, Go & ADW all don't work.

    Strange, running certain apps (such as ridiculous fishing) results in a black screen on this phone. It doesnt crash, the app still runs, but the screen is blank. If another message pops up the apps is visible in the background. I wonder if the screen is sleeping for some reason due to the app?

    please note comrades that you should not root this phone via the vroot method, as this is suspect malware and sends all sorts of your info back to china.

      I'm pretty sure unlocking bootloader has nothing to do with rooting. ie. One does not affect the other.
