      Fixed
      Thanks unity1
      Have a nice day

      • Wait, if you're posting this, does this mean you're not leaving OzBargain? :)

    • +1

what makes you think this? some line somewhere hidden on the flyer?
does it only apply to the xbox360 how about the $5 games?

    • +2

      @Scaregdearimasu

It's mentioned on the individual listing http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/offer/xbox-360-consoles/xbox-3…

      • Cool any word whether the games will be online at $5 on the 23rd? Hate it when they do the online stuff before the offline.

Damn the other one says online from the 23rd too.

  • this is crazy price

  • +2

Is this cash back available for other Xbox models as well?

  • +1

Is this the new shape for the XBOX 360 now? The last one was xbox slim. what this called? and is it smaller?

    • +1

      Xbox 360 E.

Think they're practically the same size. The Slim may appear smaller because of the "waistline" though. Internally they're essentially the same, minus some ports on the E.

      • minus some ports? thats a backward step.

        • +1

          It's forwards in price reduction.

        • +12

Depends on the ports - for example, if you're using the SCART ports, you don't deserve to still be using an Xbox, much less to be allowed to buy a new one.

        • +2

          Minus optical too
Can't even use an adaptor like on the fat console to get one.

        • +2

I believe the AV ports are gone … i think thats more a forward thing than back :)

      • According to the Xbox 360 cashback site:

*Offer applies to 4GB Xbox 360 console only.

  • +1

Any idea how to redeem the cashback?

    • +4

So don't order it online on the 23rd, otherwise no cashback!

        • Who can access the site? I don't

        • Where does it say online purchase not eligible for cash back?

Edit: ahhh I see from the period to claim the cash back

      • Site is still 'Under Construction'

  • +2

I guess we'll see how much stock they have.

  • -1

Anyone have any idea on which games are going to be on sale? :0

    • +1

Probably games like Pictionary, DJ Hero 2, Winter Stars, Sports Champions. Hopefully we'll see something better :)

  • Whoah insane price

  • +1

    25 percent off dvds etc.

Well, considering how it went with my online orders, I think it'll be best to buy the media in store. Im still waiting on my orders that were seemingly available during their last sale and now are on backorder or in some circumstances in process without an ETA (and they said when purchasing it'd be available sometime between the 12-18th dec).. yeah…

then now their substituting certain blu rays because they can't offer the digital download. (no biggie, I just want it already)

    .

as for the xbox 360. good deal and the new look, is okay with me too - not a fan of cash backs at all due to the steps you have to go through but at least I can somewhat trust MS to cough it up.

    • +2

You should be able to use the $10 off code (on top of the 25% off) for online purchases so it may be worth the risk (or wait).

      • true I guess I could do that too. I would have liked to have changed the address if I knew this was going to happen :)

  • can you still attach the xbox 360 hard drives to this model?

  • +1

Also in catalogue, 50% off Kew folding chairs - $6.

  • Good deal, do you know if in store collection will be available?

  • So do I need to buy a bigger HDD or is the current one enough to play a few games like Batman Arkham Origins?

  • +3

Hoping cashback will be for other stores too.
If offer is for Good Guys, I can use my $100 store credit and get it for free.
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Xbox_360_X360_E_4GB_…

    • -1

Your link is to a console only, no game like the deal here!

      • but he has good guys store credit so he gets the console for free

    • Tell them to price match https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127692 and have left over credit on your voucher. I'm planning to do that :)

  • If the cashback works (unlike Oral-B) this isn't a deal…

    IT'S A STEAL!!!

    • What happened with the Oral-B cashback?

      • Mine never turned up

        • Just got mine a month ago after 6 months. Ring them up, that's what I did and the lady could confirm everything and when the check will go out.

    • +2

      I got the oral-b cashback pretty quickly…

  • Can this E series xbox still be connected to old CRT TV's? I have s-video and l/r rca plugs for sound.

  • Cheaper than Apple TV!

    • -3

      Has no WiFi.

      • What has no WiFi? Both the Apple TV and Xbox 360 E have built in WiFi.

      • Has no WiFi.

LOLWOT. The Xbox 360 E has WiFi..

  • Is this one kinect ready? Any good deals about kinect ?

    • All 360's can work with the Kinect. Newer models (slim and presumably this one) have a dedicated Kinect port on the back, where previous models could connect to one of the USB ports.

    • I am selling a brand new kinetic I received with my 250gb console less than a month ago. Pm me if interested

  • +1

Wow, this is actually cheaper than buying a controller plus the game itself…

  • +1

So only with big w or from any other retailers?

  • Shame its only the 4Gb unit :/

Want to replace my old Elite one but need the drive space

    • You can always replace the HD with something bigger. :)

  • +1

Just a heads up for anyone like me who owns a Xbox 360 Slim 250 GB model, you will be able to swap the hard drives (I read that these models use the same hard drives) and upgrade to a Xbox 360 E 250 GB model and keep all your data, and then sell your old Xbox 360 Slim (that will now have a 4 GB HDD) second hand. It's a good way to upgrade.

    • +2

Preetttty sure the 4GB is inbuilt memory, not a HDD. But yes, the rest is valid.

Also of note, pretty sure the E is a lot harder to hack. If anyone cares of course.

      • +1

Oh, good to know (re. the inbuilt memory), thanks!

      • +1

can the slim version be hacked and chipped? it may be easier to sell a chipped xbox360 (at a better price) on ebay sometime next year after i get a xbox1 or ps4.

        • Depending on the age of it, ranges from easy/cheap to difficult/expensive.

        • You won't be able to sell a chipped console on eBay if you mention that it's chipped.

    • I don't know if it's considered an upgrade, the 360 E is the budget version of the slim, Microsoft released the E to keep the 360 going while reducing the cost to make it.

  • +2

have never ever owned a console, may get this if there is enough stock online.

  • +1

Note - the catalogue is misleading!
It says claim between the 25-31 december in one part and cash back offer 26-31 december.
So if u buy online on xmas day u may or may not b eligable for the cashback….

  • +1

Would this be worth getting as a media player alone vs my PS3 or Apple TV? Don't have time for games these days.

    • -2

Conifer it has no WiFi. A good tablet with USB and HDMI will offer better value and usability if you don't play games.

      • It does has wifi, and its a lot cheaper than a tablet.

  • Thanks theearth!! Glad u didn't leave m8 :-)

  • +1

I think I'll hold out for a second PS3 when the prices fall further - no added cost to use Netflix with it.

  • I would say there is a VERY good chance you will be able to pick one of these consoles up for $49 after cash back during the boxing day sales.

  • +2
    • Is that eligible for the $100 cash back?

    • This is the old model.

      • Perhaps for some the old model may be better as it has more ports e.g. optical port.

Edit: I think the cash back is only for the E model which this is not.

  • can u combine it with this code from Big W?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127187

  • Hope so, Microsoft didn't mention any particular retailers so I think it can be any.

  • Any contact of xbox team here in sydney can confirm about this cashback scheme? The site www.xbox360cashback.com.au is not working hence we have zero information at the moment.
    e.g.
    1. When's the promotion period? If it starts on the 26th, people who buy from bigw online on 23rd-25th will miss out the cashback?
    2. Which product(s) are eligible for this cashback?
    3. Does this cashback apply to purchases from any participating retailers? Which ones participated?

  • Kind of tempting but if it can't play imported games, I don't feel like paying local prices for them.

Unless the thing can be chipped or software modded.

    • +1

considering every game I've bought on disc this past year has been <$10 each and digital downloads have been between $0.99 and $4.99 - I don't see how imported games are cheaper.

      • +3

You probably bought a game like checkout chick simulator

      • Digital downloads on a 4GB system, I'm not even going to bother with.

As for the games on disc, are you getting them from the bargain bin?

I'm not really into the Katy Perry or Hannah Montana style games.

        • but hannah montana is hot.

        • Not any more!!!

        • +1

I said Hannah Montana, not Miley Cyrus the Sluzz.

    • +1

You can play imported games. Just not imported from the US.
Games of PlayAsia are region free and then you can play all EU region games

      • All my games I've ever purchased are from the US and that's where I'll continue to get them, so that's kind of a deal breaker.

Will modding it allow me to play US games?

        • Yes, if you mod, you can play from any region.

      • I received Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag Day 1 edition from COTD which is made in Singapore and is NTSC J. Will this work on local Xboxes?

        • -1

No, not unless modded correctly (Some modding methods do not allow other region games to play)

        • Not true. There is no need for any mods as this version of the game is region free.

PAL compatibility was even mentioned on COTD.

Please note - game is international stock, but has been tested & guaranteed to work on PAL (Australian) consoles.

        • Then the game is not actually NTSC-J, as I have tried several games from that region and they most certainly do not work. The game is therefore multi-region or region free.

        • Then the game is not actually NTSC-J, as I have tried several games from that region and they most certainly do not work.

          http://imgur.com/x2xVVQs

The release region is not an indicator of whether a game is locked. NTSC-J region is not the same thing as NTSC-J region protection.

I have NTSC-J Halo 4 and it most certainly works on my PAL Australian console.

Play-Asia.com has a comprehensive Xbox360 Regional Compatibility Guide so I suggest you check there in the future before wasting your time and money on buying a game that may not work.

The game is therefore multi-region or region free.

That's what I said in my previous comment.

  • Jesu christo that's cheap…….. wow

  • Seems the cashback window is very small. Online I hope.

I'd like to see more details about the redemption first.

  • +2

    last of us $44??
