        • Takes longer to clear though.

$0.23c boohoo. i know this is ozbargain but please

  • Store Rep, I'm having trouble checking out. I add the item to my cart, went to fill in the delivery address, click Submit which then changes the delivery to "FREE". I then click next and a pop up window comes up and there are 2 buttons: "Continue Shopping" or "Next". I click on next and I am back to my cart again waiting for me to submit the delivery address and then I just go round and round in circles.

Edit: NVM. I see that the post is now edited as out of stock.
Edit 2: Thought I'd try to resubmit again and this time it went through. Weird. But I'm happy now. Thanks OP!

    • Hi amts,

For further technical issue, please do not hesitate to contact us. Feel free to inbox us at [email protected] to check if your order has come through.

      • I have a confirmation email regarding my order. I assume that will be enough?

        • It took all afternoon but I got there in the end, I hope. After PayPal, the next page just said error. But I got a confirmation email from Cnet and the transaction went through in PayPal

  • How does the Master/Slave sockets work?

    • +1

When you turn the master off, it cuts power to the slaves

      • Is there a switch to turn master off? Or does it just detect the amount of power drawn through that socket?

        • +2

          The latter.

Find them annoying, but guess they work for some.

        • +1. I'll never get these master/ slave power boards again.

  • +1

    Thanx op :-)

  • +1

"1 Master socket, 3 Slave sockets, 4 Constant sockets. 2 double spaced outlets for power adaptors"

forgive my ignorance, can you tell me what master, slave, constant means? why/when would you you use each of them??

    • +9

I have this powerboard. My computer is plugged in to the master, and the monitor, printer and sound system are in the slaves. When I turn off the computer (i.e. when it stops drawing current) the power to the other systems is also cut off. It's convenient if you have a similar set up.

The other four outlets supply power all the time. ("constant"ly)

    • +2

For example you can plug your TV as master and put your apple TV, DVD Player and BluRay as Slave, that way when you turn off the TV, the Apple TV, DVD player and BluRay are also off.
For gadgets you need to have on 24/7, you put it in the constant plug, for example your Modem, Router, NAS

      • +1

Will it turn off the slave sockets when I put the TV on stand by? If I have to get off my butt and press an actual button on the TV then it won't help me much.

        • Unless the TV is drawing an unusually large amount of power in standby mode it should be fine. Having my computer in sleep mode still shuts everything else off.

  • +1

Anyone else having problems checking out?

I select delivery but it won't let me proceed. It keeps saying to select delivery or pickup.

Edit: got there in the end, just need to wait a while after selecting delivery

    • +1

Click submit once you fill in your Address etc

      • This is correct, after typing in your address, you need to click submit. If you click next without clicking submit, it will keep on asking you to select a delivery method.

  • the site is extremely slow, and all the scripts are unwieldy. I am having problems progressing to check out on both chrome and ie

  • Using Explorer, cant read the verification code for the CC checkout. half of it is cut off. had to go into firefox

  • Isn't this like the Victorian govt. sponsored free Smart Power Controllers that are available for free to any Victorian household, up to 4 per house. Though those ones have upto 6 sockets and only 1 constant socket.

  • Pm'd you rep

Your server is potatoed. Also, no guest checkout :(

    • And the SSL setup is invalid…

  • Want to check out but cannot select delivery method…

  • Damn server is hammered…

  • Rep, you have an SSL capable web site yet this deal links to an unsecured page, which results in a mostly insecure transaction.

If possible, change the link from http:// to https:// .

    • Hi stebie
SSL only applied when you logged in, hope this answer your question

  • What are some of the other things on the left side?

All I know is that there is a splitter so you can use that for adsl2+ connections right? Not sure what the other things are.

    • +1

Coaxial cable/TV antenna (In/Out) filter, some kind of RF connector filter (for cable/satellite TV), and an RJ12/45 telephone line splitter.

  • Do you still have any stock left in store?

    • +1

Yes they do but at TWICE the price!!

Looks like a bogus offer to me where they put a few out as a loss leader then RAMP the price for the remaining stock!

      Definitely SUSPECT! :(

      • No point to get it for twice the price. Perhaps we can try price matching their own online offer?

      • yes, very disappointing to see price jumped twice after struggling to register and make an order.

I'd not trust to buy from this shop after this.

  • Has anyone received theirs yet?

    • Still waiting for mine as the order status still shows ready to despatch and it's been like that for a few days now.

    • I'm still waiting for mine too.

    • Mine has been "Ready for dispatch" for a few days…

    • Mine too…

  • +1

Received mine this morning. The quality is pretty good.

  • still waiting for mine…

    • Same here… over 2 weeks and nothing, still marked as "ready for dispatch"

      • Same here. They don't answer my emails either.

  • Mine not arrived and I have sent 2 emails…ignored!

  • Also haven't gotten mine, it's been at "Ready to Dispatch" for 2 weeks now.

Sent an email yesterday, no reply yet.

    • I got the enclosed reply (truncated for brevity) today. Sounds like they have accepted more orders than they had stock and are holding on until they obtain more.

Rep was asked about this situation in a new deal they posted a bit earlier and answered there but hasn't bothered to come and post anything here which is where people are watching for an update.

  • Mine has been "dispatched" for the last 9 days.

We despatch over 99% of our orders within 1 business day of confirmation of payment.

  • When am I gonna get mine? Paid not received.

  • Just arrived today by express post. But the master and slave sockets are buggered. Something is rattling inside it like a loose pebble which is never good. Sent an email off to them. Hoping they can replace and not refund.

  • Received roughly the same email as Samlor posted above.

They basically sold 200 more units over their inventory amount when the deal first went live and are aiming to have the outstanding orders shipped by next Thursday (which I'm assuming means the 24/08).

  • +3

"We despatch over 99% of our orders within 1 business day of confirmation of payment"

Typo: "We despatch 1% of orders within 99 days"

  • Day 28 and still ready for dispatch, I haven't received any emails or details about what the delay is. I'll email them and give it a couple of days before doing a charge back.

  • I got this email on 22 Apr
Hi Customer, The Laser Surge Protector 8 Way Master Slave PROMOTION response were about 200 units more than what we had in stock at the time we advertised. We are now have a very small potion of out standing which will be delivered by next Thursday. We sorry for any inconvenience that would cause Regards Cnet

My status still shows ready for despatch and I have not received the item yet.

  • Please refund order no 8562 asap.

  • Has anyone received there order? I can't get replies to emails. They don't seem to care about fulfilling these orders, I wouldn't be too bothered about the delay if they sent an email saying what's going on.

    • I still have no response to my query about the item being faulty. At least Laser are quick to respond.

  • Order status still at ready for dispatch after 1 MONTH from the purchase date (01/04).

The last email I received from them was on the 22nd of April and it said they will ship all orders by next Thursday. Given their very casual grammar skills, that could either mean today or last week. Sent another email.

How hard is it for them to just send an update? I'm definitely not bothering with these hopeless idiots again.

    • I won't be back either. I wouldn't mind if they sent emails explaining the massive delay or if they bothered to reply to my emails but nothing. Looks like its going to be a charge back, I wished I had paid by paypal.

The rep was online yesterday, maybe if everyone sends him / her a message on here they will do something.

They also have facebook so write on the wall.

  • I rang up, the lady was apologetic and said they will process a refund for me.

  • I got a reply saying they were going to send them this week, this was after I put a post on their facebook page after they didn't reply to 2 emails.

I wont be jumping on the next offer they have thats for sure

  • Latest email update as of today (just as I was about to call and ask for a refund):

    Dear ______________,

Dear customer, This is in regards to your Protector Board Order, As we understand your patience and experience long-awaited weeks for the item. • Yep, got the same email too. Will see if anything turns up.

  • +2

No refund and my order is still waiting for dispatch. These guys have really left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't care if they send it or refund just do one or the other, its been over 5 weeks.

    • +2

Judging by the lack of feedback from other users, it seems that you, me and perhaps a select few others, are the last customers they're holding out on, and that this deal was a for a very limited run of stock that they cannot secure more of.

No idea why they don't just refund us at this point. When I can be stuffed, and I'm not so busy I am planning to call them up and just ask for a refund.

At the end of the day it is $15 bucks so I'm not dying to get it back, but the principle of the thing really needs to made clear to these total amateurs who have no clue how to conduct business in a reasonable manner.

        Lol still a few waiting

No replies to multiple email(Both direct and via website)
Rung multiple times continuously put on hold,
call drops out (most likely hung up on).
Did manage to speak to some one Monday promised to post on Tuesday.

Lol as I said in the beginning still waiting

Meanwhile even my Sunwayman D40A ordered 18/4 has turned up.(from China)
Patience and a sense of humour is obviously required.(though both are starting to run short)

My situation and thoughts exactly, Amar89. Still have not received mine. Please let us know how you go, thanks.

        • +1

The funny thing is after this deal was marked as out of stock people commented asking if they could still get them and the rep said yes. This was 2 days after I had ordered, if they had no stock then wtf?

Still no refund or powerboard so Im going to do a chargeback.

If they get enough chargebacks the bank will get the shits with them and cancel there merchant account (so they wouldn't be able to accept credit card). At this point I think they deserve it.

  • +3

Just wanted to point all those waiting at another thread post here (the one from wildwild, linking to posts doesn't work well when it's the last or next to last one)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141108#comment-1978509

Might be time to lodge those claims / chargebacks before it's too late.

    • +1

Thanks, I put in my charge back.

I put in a print out of my order status showing "ready for dispatch" and a link to this page. Im sure that will be all they need.

If anyone paid via paypal you should open up a dispute asap. Paypal only lets you open disputes for 45 days or something.

  • +3

I have created a general "WHERE IS MY STUFF CNET TECHNOLOGY?!" thread here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143663

  • Still waiting :@

  • Got the enclosed response after several emails, the last one yesterday demanding refund or I would submit a payment dispute. Pfff, I don't believe them. They appear to be dodgy - both incompetent and dishonest. If I don't get my refund very shortly, I will submit the payment dispute.
