  • Any free stuff like last time?

I got the 360 headset free or a few $$ profile from DSE last time.

    • I was going to ask exactly the same question.

      • +5

Yeah it still sitting there unopen :p

    • Edit: Error on website, RRP is wrong on 1 item

    • Hopefully they will process my -$12 claim

  • +1

    Good offer.

[BUT I bought a 7000 ergonomic keyboard last year with 3 yr warranty. Developed a fault some 6 weeks ago. Got in touch with MS and they said they would send out a replacement. Still waiting… their support does not seem so good..]

    • -3

      ……………………………………………yet

  • Pos vote in anticipation of scoring a crazy cheap deal as per last few years :)

  • +2

$16 for the Wireless Desktop 800 (Keyboard and Mouse) at Officeworks.
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/microsoft-des…

    • +15

      Another note…

Participating stores for the offer are Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Dick Smith, Officeworks, Bing Lee and EB Games.

      • EDITED: Yes good catch. In the past they allowed me to use a U-Mart receipt but I guess they have stopped that.

        • +1

MSY is national wide for $7, Computer Alliance is 5 cents cheaper only in Queensland.

But I price-matched with Computer Alliance in QLD in Officeworks VIC last year, the staff don't really care where the store is

        • Welcome to OzBargain. We spot the losers by negging people and seeing who whinges.

      • +3

I think you can only get Cashback from the about stores mentioned.

        • +1

Yes but ccwwayne means to use those sites to obtain a price match in Officeworks at those lower prices, then claim the 30% cashback.

        • -2

Except that if you go to an officeworks aware of the cashback, they won't price match.

    • $16 for the Wireless Desktop 800 (Keyboard and Mouse) at Officeworks.

      After $12 CB = $4?! SOLD!

      • +2

        I wish.

        $16 after cashback, not before.

    • They had those for $15 straight a couple months ago, when they first came out.

I should've picked up more than one. Didn't expect the price to double so soon.

  • +19

Finally a valid use for RRPs!

  • +2

I've been wanting to get a new Webcam.

    LifeCam studio RRP $99

Pricematch MSY @ officeworks down to $55.10

    Then $29.99 cashback

    So only $25.11

    Almost 85% off. Nice.

    • Out of stock though.

      • South Australia has stock at all stores and so does MSY…

    • -7

Pricematch MSY @ officeworks down to $55.10

You'd be lucky to get a pricematch at officeworks with stores not participating in the Cashback…

      • +4

It really has nothing to do with them though. The product is exactly the same.

        • -2

The product is exactly the same.

Read Officeworks T&C's for their price guarantee, it excludes items with "Cash back and coupon offers"

If you're lucky enough to find a staff member not aware of the cashback, you might get away with it… So get in early if you're trying for a pricematch…

        • +12

Sure, but that's not really relevant because that wasn't what scottg87 was pricematching. He wants to pricematch MSY pre-cashback. Officeworks excludes cashbacks because those are the business of the manufacturer, not Officeworks.

        • +1

I just pricematched the Lifecam Studio at Officeworks.

        • +1

Got a Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop set price matched down to $78 at Officeworks today so a $129.95 keyboard will come to me for $39 after cash back.

      • I've only ever tried it once and they took about $100 off a $300 router when i price-beat some random victorian online store (i'm in WA)

    • Cheers I picked it up today :)

    • "almost 85%"? How on earth did you come to that figure?

  • Any good already discounted MS stuff so I can double-dip to get value?

  • +6

    Typecover 2 would be nice!

    • +1

The Microsoft Wedge mobile keyboard isn't that bad, especially at 30% off.

$78 at Harvey Norman before discount. ($48 after)

It's only $49 (before discount) at Computer Alliance though!

      • +3

Just got one for $46.55 (price match Computer Alliance).
        Should be $16.56 after cashback.

Works really well with my Android tablet — typing from it right now! The included stand works better than my cover stand.

  • +4

    OW PM Deals
    - $7 for W/less Desktop 800. $20@MSY PM at OW for $19, claim back $12
    - $9.55 for W/less Dekstop 2000 $29@MSY PM at OW for $27.55, claim back $18
    - $8.10 for Comfort Curve K/B. $18@Windows Store (Delivered) PM at OW for $17.10, claim back $9

      • No need to neg him into oblivion guys, different people just interpret the T&Cs differently. Personally I would imagine they would PM cos the cashback is not from OW but from Microsoft and no one's asking them to PM the cashback offer.

      • +4

jv got lots of negs, but isn't what he said essentially true? I see both his view and the other view, surely unless staff are 100% on the ball about store policy, Officeworks would generally still do the price match wouldn't they?

        • -1

jv got lots of negs because he's jv. He'll still win an annual OzB award though

      • +3

store managers will play on this. Manager at Officeworks south perth stopped price matching the Galaxy note 8 as "bing lee has cashback advertised" even though they both offered it.

If you're in the right, just keep complaining until they honor it.

If officeworks doesn't want to price match, then it shouldn't have a big ass sign that states they do.

        • sorry - East Perth!

        • Sure it's not West Perth ?

  • -1

any idea if any participating stores sell the "Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" at RRP?

    • +3

It doesn't matter what price they sell it for. The cash back is based of Windows RRP. (eg. They might suggest to sell it for $110, except stores sell it for $99). In which case, the cash back is based off the Windows RRP of $110.

As for which stores are selling it. Have a quick google, with the store name.

      • It matters when the price that all participating retailers—as well as Microsoft's own online store—sell it for is above RRP, which means the CB is a tad less than 30%.

Edit: Scrap that. The HN controller is SKU NSF-00003, which isn't part of cashback. Always check SKU against CB list before buying.

        • +1

OK, I confirmed in-store at EB Games Canberra Centre that they are selling the Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, confirmed SKU JR9-00012, for $49.00.

Store staff said that the sale price will apply until 'the end of June'. I don't know whether other EB Games stores are selling it for this price, though.

Edit: Also available online now. https://ebgames.com.au/pc-153574-Xbox-360-Wireless-Controlle… But >$7 shipping kills it.

        • Is EB a participating firm? Doesn't show on the Microsoft website

        • Thank you thank you thank you!
Just picked up the controller from EB

        • EB is not on the list of retailers, you may have trouble getting your 30% back

        • EB is not on the list of retailers, you may have trouble getting your 30% back

EB Games WERE initially listed as a participating retailer in the Terms and Conditions (before they changed them) so prior purchase should be OK.

They are not on the list NOW.

    • +2

A place like Officeworks, no. But Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Dick Smith, and EB Games have their Xbox sections.

      • +1

they do have the controllers for xbox but its not the "for windows: version… or unless they are the same item…

    • I believe they may have stopped making those a while ago? I could be wrong though.

      • FYI I got the wireless windows 360 controller from EB Games Saturday before I knew about the 30% off, winner! There was only one there.

  • +1

Don't buy the wedge mouse, it has terrible battery life!

  • +1

Can you use the Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows on the Xbox 360?

  • -7

Microsoft surface pro 3 is out soon, so 30% would work out great.

    • +3

      hardware accessories

    • -1

      It's only for accessories…

      • +4
        • Excludes Surface accessories.
    • +1

Unfortunately not included, would have been fantastic.

      • -1

Doubt it will be discounted for a while, even after it hits the stores… Not much competition…

        • I think it's pricing isn't all that bad actually, there is a price premium but not a shocking one.

Though I suppose once you look at 128GB+ and keyboard it starts to burn a hole… You're right, no competition really. It's one of those things if you want you just have to suck it up I guess.

  • O well, wished accessories included a
    Tablet and laptops.

  • +4

The MS website has the sidewinder series of mice listed as sLidewinder. Not even they have heard of them.

  • Anyone have any suggestions on a good wireless mouse?

    • +18
  • Xbox 360 controller listed for $23.63 here http://www.iibuy.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPa…

Maybe a participating retailer might price match for us? Would be $11.64 after cashback

    • Has anyone been able to find a participating retailer that will price match online stores and has the 360 controller for Windows (52A-00003)?

Lots of online stores sell it for $25. Most of them have physical stores so not sure if that gets around BigW price match "online sales" exclusion etc

  • +1

Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 Keyboard and Mouse $99 @ OW, price match Umart ($57) -> $54.15 less $29.99 cashback = $24.16 … looks like I'm getting a much needed new keyboard tomorrow :)

    • +1

yer i got a 5000 for like $20 or so , using it now from 2012~ only thing that has worn out is the mouse scroller in the middle. The rubber has broken off. I plan to buy another one or 2 tomorrow :) one of the most comfortable keyboard and mice for games

    • Good call!
This set is priced at $150 here http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/p/wireless-comfort-d…

Does that mean we'll get $50 cashback? (30% off RRP?)

  • +2

I highly recommend a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 4000 for a laptop / wireless mouse. After PM/CB it will be $13 which is great value.

    • can't find on officeworks site

they have the 3500 but i'm not sure what the SKU is… microsoft deal page says only on the "loch ness gray" or "dragonfruit" version?

    • nm

    • I'm interested, could u provide a bit more details on where to PM?

  • Hey guys I have one of the new Hisense tvs that runs full android - will the wireless xbox controller work do you think to play app store games? (tv has wifi and bluetooth).

  • Good find, just bought a Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 in OW, $72 - $45 = $27

    • I can't find it on OW website

  • Do Microsoft do any Bluetooth Mice besides the Arc Mouse for Surface?

    • They also have the Sculpt Touch Mouse but it's not very good. It loses connection once in a while for no apparent reason and when you do flick scrolling it always does a rattlesnake on you.

    • +1

Do not get the arc unless you like cramps or have baby hands

    • There is the wedge mouse, could price match computer alliance (http://www.computeralliance.com.au/search?search=wedge%20mou…) at officeworks.

      $37.05 - $23.99 cashback = $13.06

      • Terrible battery life on this though…

    • I ended up buying the Sculpt Comfort Mouse.

The Mouse & Keyboard Center is worth installing:

      http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/downloads/mouse-keyb…

I needed it to add a back/forward gesture in Chrome…

      • Couldn't you just use Alt+Left and Alt+Right?

        • +1

Yes, if you want to reach the keyboard. I'm used to have back/forward buttons near my thumb.
