In the tables below are the daily deals, flash sales, Community's Choice and any other significant deals available from this year's Steam Summer (Winter) sale. All prices are in USD, so if you're purchasing games with a credit card, in most cases you will incur a conversion fee from your bank. Alternatively, you can purchase Steam Credit in $20 USD & $50 USD denominations from EB Games in store (for $23 AUD & $55 AUD respectively).

For those new to how Steam Sales work, here's a flowchart reference. For a more detailed reference, here's another flowchart.

Steam's sales have been known in the past to bring about pricing errors on certain games from time to time such as Just Cause for $0.27 USD in last year's Steam Summer Sale. To have the best chance of catching beneficial pricing errors on Steam, you have to be around when new deals come and old ones expire - for Daily Deals, this is at 3:00am AEST, while for Flash Sales, it's 3:00am AEST, 11:00am AEST and 7:00pm AEST.

Tip: You can only purchase a maximum of 10 games every hour. Even if you do find that juicy price error, you won't be able to take advantage of it as much as you'd like, as by the time the next hour comes, the error will likely be fixed.

There will be games that are price gouged (where us Australians pay a premium compared to our US counterparts). If this is the case, there are some methods you can resort to in order to get the game you want. These include:

  • Getting a friend with access to the US Steam Store to purchase for you and you pay them the US price
  • Buying games using TF2/CS:GO/Dota 2 keys
  • Sharing in a multi-pack with a group of people - (OzBargain Group Buys). Please note that not all games have multi-packs available. Also, for most games, multi-packs cannot be bought if you already own the game.
  • Buying off other sites where price gouging is not a factor and they provide Steam keys (eg. Amazon)

Just to let you guys know; although I will do my best to update the deals ASAP, there'll be times where I won't be able to do it for several hours, due to other matters on hand.

Encore Featured Deals - Lasts for 24 hours. The games with the highest number of purchases will be brought back for one last round. Note that games which appear in the Day 10 Daily Deals will not be apart of the Encore Sale as they will still be happening for the first 24 hours.

    Protips

    • For games you're not sure you'll play, buy them as a gift for yourself. You then have the option to open the gift when you want to play it or sell/trade it.

    • Prices may sometimes fluctuate during the first few minutes of a new sale. If you're logging in the minute the sale goes live and it looks like the prices aren't updating, be patient and wait for the initial wave of traffic to subside. These issues usually don't last longer than 10 minutes or so. Additionally, if you happen upon what you believe to be a favorable pricing error, it's recommended that you jump on that immediately, as pricing errors tend to be quickly fixed (but any purchases completed during the faulty period will be honored).

    • Wait for daily and flash sales until the end of the event. Most games on the Steam store are discounted for the entire duration of the Steam sale, but sometimes these same games can be discounted even more heavily during the more limited daily sales and flash sales. That 50% discount might be tempting, but be patient—if you're lucky, it may ripen into an even sweeter 75% discount before the sale is over.

    • The last day of the sale is often an encore sale, where the most popular daily sales are discounted again for people who missed them the first time around.

      I am addicted to DotA 2 which is free to play. And all the games I have are sitting in steam library just to see me play dota 2. Everyone is into some game. Maybe LoL or COD or warcraft. Rest of the games are for 4 hrs gameplay, if u ever touch them.

      But ITS STEAM SUMMER SALE!!! Gotta buy more games.

      You can purchase games using the steam android app(it has been what I have used the last few sales and its great). I am unsure about iPhone as I don't own one but I assume its the same.

    Quick way to make some money:

    Buy games which have the trading cards.
    Open them and just alt tab for a few hours.
    Sell these cards on the market for like 8c or whatever they're worth.
    Sell all four cards = 24c.
    Do this for all the games you have which have cards + the summer sale cards.
    You should have like 10 games idling all at once.
    Do this and you'll save like $5-10 depending on how hardcore (scummy) you are.

      FWIW the cards only show up after you quit the games - at least for me that's how it worked. Otherwise if you just leave them running you'll get nothing and you'll be scratching your head thinkning "wtf I'm just wasting energy here"

          Yeah, it started working for me overnight - maybe the card drops happen more often during the "US daytime" because I picked up a bunch overnight, but barely got 1 during the day.

        You wont get 10 cards from games. A maximum of 4 (if the game has 8 in total) or 3 (if the game was 6 in total).

        If you vote every day 3 times, you'll get a summer sale card which is worth around 40c at the moment.

      The other deal was literally posted only a few seconds before this one, but even after several hours had passed the description still only stated the following.

      It's that time of the year again. I will be updating this post with the biggest savings on the daily sales, however there will be numerous flash sales and other short term discounts, which are in detail at SteamDB Be sure to check often.

      The other person actually logged off after posting so it kind of seems like they just wanted to be the first to get the deal out without putting any real effort into it.

      Comparing that description to the one in this deal it's no surprise that the people voted the way they did and I think the mods made the right call.

          I don't get this early access thing. Why pay so much to test a broken game for a dev? They used to pay people to do this. I feel like our impatience has gotten the better of us..

          Agree it's not worth it, but I guarantee you will never get this game any cheaper - beta will be coming in ~the next 6 months. The price will only rise - the devs have a very high opinion of the game, despite the glaring problems with it.

          Also, the game is what you make of it. It's not that good if you're new or not very skilled or lack imagination.

          I recommend a Youtuber called Jam Jar, if you're looking for inspiration on how to play the game a little differently.

          Also, think of it as a future investment in what the game will be.

    A summer sale on June 19th? Where in the world is it summer on June 19th? Summer starts in North America on June 21st.

    Amnesia Dark Descent (normally $19.99, will definitely buy it at $4.99)

    Nice deals there.
    Witcher 2 at that price is a great buy. I have already played and finished Witcher 2 ahoy edition, but thinking of getting it to play through the extra gameplay hours of the enhanced edition. Plus the different modes.

    Already have Xcom enemy unknown from PS+, it is a great game and $8.49 is a good value.

    I am waiting on Dark Souls 2 to come on sale… and I feel we are going to get ripped because of AU price. :|

          You really should buy the game though, CD Prodjekt RED are one of the last decent developers out there, especially with their stand on DRM. Which I guess is why you were easily able to get the 'ahoy' edition :-P

    Don't forget to sell your trading cards ASAP. I sold my first free card for making a community choice on home page for $0.50 USD, netting about 44 US cents to go towards my first purchase. Then I made another card (luckily a foil card) on my first purchase and sold that for $4.10 USD, netting $3.58, so all up my first $10 bargain purchase only cost less than $6 USD.

    Prices for cards will drop fast as the market gets flooded so act fast. Be an ozbargainer!

      Agreed! And if you really want to craft the Summer Sale badges and get loot, still sell your cards but wait till the second last day and buy the set back for a much lower price!

      (I say second last day because last sale I waited until the last day but the trading volume was too high and the market kept crashing all day).

        And the price actually went slightly up on the last day, it will be interesting to see what happens with the prices this sale with the "adventure" aspect, they have gone up from around $0.30 a card at 6AM this morning to around $0.50 now (and so many on the market that it doesn't show individual listings anymore)
