Nothing like some spam in the wee hours

Spam? No we are a company based on the Westside of Brisbane. We are offering our Ozbargin customers some ridiculous savings to celebrate iDo-it's Birthday. so feel free to give us a call on 0423558690 or email us on [email protected]

      • In that case I'm just reporting what I am having for breakfast before I head off to church

        Spam? No

I'll let jv be the final arbiter on this. He should be here to clarify in the next hour or two.

        • -3

How is it spam… these are great prices! I've an iPhone 5 screen that needs replacing and 99 bucks is a bargain IMO compared to other quotes I've had. Can you come up with a cheaper alternative then?

        • +5

@sk1ppy: Better prices here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152905 and surely you can get cheaper if you are savvy.

The wording in this post is why it comes off so spammy. Look at all the capitalized and repeated words. A massive sales pitch.

        • -3

@apate: As you will notice we give a full comprehensive warranty for 12months which is double that of the competitor. We can do this because we have complete conviction that our parts are second to none.

We would be happy to discuss our services with you that way you will be able to see what sets iDo-it apart from the other repairers.

          Cheers

          "she" not "he".

And, yes it is spam - or at least not a deal/bargain.
As apate has pointed out in their comment, there are cheaper prices in Brisbane.

    • TB, you must be a Crunchy Nut if you don't think his prices are Down Down, Prices Are Down….

  • How does the price compare to apple's?

Does Apple replacement screen retain their original warranty? Does this void it?

    • Any third party repair conducted on an Apple device voids the original warranty. If your device is over 12months old then the warranty is finished in Apples mind.

Apple conduct a screen replacement for between $150-$190 so I think we are being competitive.

      • +2

Not entirely true as the warranty can be for 24 months. As a repairer you may actually be voiding a perfectly valid warranty claim. Customers should be made well aware of this.

"Without limiting consumers’ rights, Apple will provide its own remedies equivalent to those remedies in the consumer guarantee provisions of the Australian Consumer Law at any time within 24 months of the date of purchase. For the avoidance of doubt, Apple acknowledges that the Australian Consumer Law may provide for remedies beyond 24 months for a number of its products."

  • No one seems to do screen repairs for ipad 1.

  • We can do the iPad 1 however we can't turn it around in one day usually minimum over night. Because of this we don't stock parts as a constant but can have the parts insure with in 2-3 days.

If I hadn't used these guys myself I would have thought the post was a bit spammy too, but seriously it is just an expression of the guy's personality.

He is so upbeat and happy it's sickening! Just kidding, he's a great guy and has fixed two of the iPhone 4s in my family.

He even has a really cool business card. I think they're good prices, but even if I could go somewhere $10 cheaper in Brisbane I wouldn't bother.

    • Hey Bud,
      How are you going?
Thanks fro the kind words. This place is pretty ruthless I only joined 4 hours ago but its great to hear what customers want.

I would love to find out how the other repairers are repairing for $55.

BUT as you know first hand we are selling and experience not just the service. ;o)

      Enjoy Dean

I had the screen assembly on two iP4S handsets replaced by iExperts for $55 each just last week.

So, $69 is not a bargain.

    Edit:
As posted by another commenter - there are better prices in Brisbane even without this guys $5 off birthday celebration deal.
At iphonescreen.com.au Prices are as follows:
    iPhone 5 screen repair- $80
    iPhone 4 or 4S screen repair - $50
    iPhone 5S screen repair - $100
    iPhone 5C screen repair

I am still uncertain as to what you mean???

        spam : noun
        1. irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the Internet, typically to large numbers of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc.

        • spam: breakfast

dammit now i regret eating bacon this morning

  • this is the very reason i can do these myself thanks to youtube, i buy the screens and charge $10, family and close friends i do for free. I would never let a place do it for me and pay the sometimes ludicrous prices they want.

back on topic, your prices are competitive to other places i have seen though.

    • WE encourage as many people as possible to at least give it a go once and if you get stuck we can give you some pointers.

Glad we are competitive. I have made a point of not scoping out the competition as I think its wasted time. iDo-it.com.au has a set price and we generally stick to it.

Have a great day and thanks again for the feedback.

      Dean

  • Please, can you let me know what qualification is held by your technicians that are answering the phones? I'm not aware of any qualifications of installing inferior quality replacement parts in telephones, a very simple task at that.

    • Our main Tech is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 9 years of experience, the transferrable trade skills and knowledge from the electronic and mechanical engineering background has allowed us to expand the company to conduct repairs on almost anything. Come and spend a few minutes with him, he is truly a top bloke.

    • +1

most of these phone repairers are electrical/mechanical engineers however i think anyone who can use a screwdriver and have a steady hand can do these repairs.

For me however if it wasnt for youtube vids and watching someone do them, i wouldnt have the nerve to do this myself.

And my attitude is if that guy can do it, then so can i…

it also helps that I build pc's as a hobby.

So I could get an idea as to how many enquiries on the 5S would be generated by this particular feed. If I don't get a rough idea I can't project for the rest of the week.

Ozbargain is for posting bargains, not for spamming so you can do market analysis…

Willy, I was wondering why you have a negative vote? Was it because we had not disclosed the cost of the iPhone 5S repair?

      Oh christina!

  • Well this has been the most interesting morning in a long time. I am really keen to hear what exactly warrants a great deal. I thought $99 for an iPhone 5S was super.

So please message me and lets chat. Today is my first day on Oz Bargin so I have to find my feet but it would be much appreciated if the ozbargin community could lend some advice.

Have you looked at other competitors when stating you have competitive prices?

How about you justify your prices for us and explain HOW it is a bargain.

Where do you source your replacement screens? It is quite easy to purchase these online for DIY replacement.

Are your repairers more skilled than others?

Is the bonus screen protector a generic one bought online in bulk for less than a dollar?

There are many stalls at shopping centers and other small businesses that repair for less than your prices.

What makes your higher price better? Seeing as you're not a reputable brand in this sort of market.

Thank you so much well now I have something solid to work with I am going to deactivate for a week until my credits grow enough to post again and we will ensure that the second time around we hit it out of the ball park!

Thank you for taking the time to give the feedback.

  • +3

I gotta say, good on rep for keeping a positive attitude, and taking the constructive feedback on board.

We've seen so many new reps turn defensive and start making personal attacks.

    • Must agree. Rep, good on you for keeping a positive attitude. OzBargainers love a rep that provides a bargain and has a positive attitude - your store will be well rewarded and possibly overrun. But you must post a genuine bargain. Not third best, not second best. We are not idiots, we know our prices.

Keep your chin up and smash your next deal. Good luck.

    • +1

I agree about the good on him part, cos I would've probably launched into a counter attack if I were him and was met with such a hostile tone from peeps lol (but I'm a bit cray cray like that)…

though it was amusing to read… his neverending positivity and persistence only fueled the 'spammy' feel that others were talking about. lol poor rep.

I personally couldn't detect the spammy-ness but I'm a novice to these things. I simply thought he was an overenthusiastic seller. It's cool that he took the criticism/harshness on board though. OzB is a tough crowd!

    Unfortunate business name, IMO.

I keep reading it as iDiot Repairs lol
