        • @Lionheart: Wow, how dare you insult a fellow Ozbargainer.

  • +5

Are the chocolate ones ok? I bought 2 packs a while ago but haven't even taken them out of the packaging yet.

    • +6

They taste alright. Not very sweet but leave you with a stinging sensation

      • Don't forget to add in the cost of antacid tablets ;-)

    • Almost forgot about CashRewards! Thx

    • you reminded me cashrewards. thanks.

    • Don't meant to sound like a noob, but I finally signed up to this Cashrewards everyone has been talk about. But I don't see DSE listed in any of the categories. Where can I find it?

Not to worry. Its ozbargainer's form of currency.

      • +2

When the world falls into chaos this will become the new currency just like pop caps are in the PC game Fallout (awesome game).

Eneloops will be used as coins, Cree torches will be used as notes, battery chargers will be used as gold billion and Udemy certificates can be used as bonds :)

  • +1

For those looking for a good charger, I just ordered a nice all-in-one that does NiMH, NiCd, & Li-ion with full analyse and charge capabilities. OPUS BT-C3100 v2.1 at Gear Best:

    EU plug: http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-batteries/pp_71595.html
    US plug: http://www.gearbest.com/chargers-batteries/pp_71596.html

    Coupon: OP3100
    Price: US$42 free shipping

Worked out as just under AU$50 delivered.

Find a power supply of about 8amp output and Aus plug. 10amps is better but 8 will work fine too. The one you get is 3amps and causes issues.

      • I read a bit about this but was skim reading so didn't really take it in properly. Not really sure the best place to start looking for another power supply. Any recommendations for a bargain-hunter?

        • +1

2nd hand from old laptops that are 12v. Just check the connector size.

Rummage through 2nd hand stores, just make sure it has the right connector, 12v and say 8amps. More amps is OK.

Any good with electronics? You can mod an XBox 360 PSU, and buy one 2nd hand cheap enough they have a 12v rail and ample amps. just not more voltage. People have used old PC PSUs, again, you need some skill. No need for huge watts, you can salvage from an old 484 I guess. Just need around 100w. Ive seen some creative designs to house these on the web.

Can be bought on ebay too as a black wall plug.

I dont know the socket type though, I dont own that charger. I have an iCharger and an Xtar VP2.

It will run on the supplied unit, but from what Ive read from people who know this shit, its not really up to the task, and as such a risk to use it. Its not a bad charger with a better PSU.

I got a $5.60 ebay charger, still going strong after 3 years. $45 is alot to pay to know how much is in the batteries. They're either charged or they're not.

    • +5

Or they explode in your charger, burn down your house and cost you more than $40.

    • +2

nup. Cheap chargers kill batteries by overcharging them, using too high current when near full (cine the only way to maintain the current is to up the voltage, which damages the cell).

Your cheap charger will be going strong forever, but your eneloops will die an early death.

  • is anyone else getting this "PayPal gateway has rejected request. A successful transaction has already been completed for this token (#10415: Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details)."

    • Hmmm, sounds familiar (ala itunes card fiasco)…that's telling you that Paypal has debited your account & forwarded the money to DSE. Did you get a confirmation email from both…or did the DSE final payment page crash when you placed your order or did you accidentally refresh/go back etc?

      • +1

just received emails both from paypal and dicksmith so all good! :)

        • Well done! I'm still waiting on the iTunes card escalation…but I'm a patient man, it will be interesting to see how it turns out! ;)

        • +1

          @StewBalls:

good luck with that man :)

  • I'm getting the same issue. When I went through to PayPal, the $2 postage was not on the final amount, but it gets added after it returns you to dicks site. Hence the mismatch.

    • Disregard. Went through eventually. Charged correct amount.

  • Thanks Op got a pack of Eneloop using my $10 half price gift card and my 5% off wish card together with cash rewards. Makes these my cheapest Eneloop ever

  • -1

Coupon code "SIMPLISM" is not valid. :(

    • Read description :)

      • I know but I'm about to go to work and won't have access then.

        • Yeah starts at 12 EDST and no way around that :(

  • Can anyone recommend a cheap recharger for these?

  • +1

Why are these so popular on this forum? Bought 3 anyway.

    • +1

Because normal batteries cost too much and with todays technology chewing through them it's a good idea to get good rechargeable ones

    • +5

You ask, yet you buy 3 packets(or 24 batteries). That says it all.

  • +1

Ordered 1 x AA and 1 x AAA by following the link no problem. However I do notice if I search for the products manually, they'd be $49.98 online exclusive. Not sure whether it's a mistake or deliberate. Fingers crossed.

    • +2

No mistake. Was sent an email today

      • I just found the AA Eneloops listed for $99 as well! Their webstore is trying to trick people.

  • +1

That's a good price for the GT wheel which works perfectly with a PC also.

  • finally own some eneloops..

  • Great deal op, off topic question.. does anyone know if their is an eneloop 9v equivalent "deal" out there somewhere. Always see AA and AAA's advertised and never 9v or 9.6v (rather than 8.4v) rechargables.

  • Finally going to buy some eneloop, how long is the shipping time on the charger from dx?

    • +3

      probably around 4 weeks.

these ones are great, and you can pickup in Melb….

      http://www.videoguys.com.au/Shop/p/3974/maha-powerex-mh-c900…

      i've had one for years…

    • +2

Got mine in 4 days from deal 2 weeks ago, I think it varies

      • +3

4 days from DX must be a record !!!

        • Yeah not bad, it took about 8 days my previous purchase so a little better

  • +1

Being here for years, I've finally jumped on this battery deal! Got AA and AAA to replace my 16 old energizers at home.

    • My experience is that Energizer NiMH batteries are awful (and Choice magazine found pretty much the same in their testing).

In Choice mag testing: 'Average charges before first failure' for Energizer was 81. For Sanyo Eneloop White it was >200. For Sayno Eneloop black it was a paltry 62.

(They recommended Sayno White and Sanyo Coloured Eneloops; Panasonic Eneloops were not in the test. It was back in 2012).

  • order AA $16.98 delivered.
    Thanks

  • +3

Damn you OzBargain. Resistance was futile. Eneloops purchased.
    Thanks OP :)

  • Any gps deals

  • +3

Hope you hoarders have a container for these, and not just lying all over the house

    http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/131256278768

    • +2

      I have now. Thanks.

  • Bought Eneloop recently, and bought another chocolat Eneloop but because of $5 case, I gave in! Damn you OzB!

    • Yeah the case is a bargain

  • Bought 3 packs, used my vouchers. :)

  • These are made by Panasonic whereas the last ones I got were made by Sanyo. I've been happy with the Sanyo Eneloops and wondered if these are as good and if still made in Japan?

    • I think Panasonic now owns Sanyo

      • Indeed - from http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanyo#Acquisition
"On November 2, 2008, Sanyo and Panasonic announced that they have agreed on the main points of a proposed buyout that would make Sanyo a subsidiary of Panasonic [11] and a formal announcement of the acquisition was made on Sanyo's web site on December 19, 2008.[12] They became a subsidiary of Panasonic on December 21, 2009"

  • Ordered one of each and the AAAs are already on their way apparently… DS can't get rid of them fast enough haha.

  • +2

AAA are much better deal than AA usually they are not on discount

  • I've given up trying to get an ipad case with SIMPLISM, after 20-30 mins it ain't happening. It only discounts $20.

Just realised on Dick's page it says "Selected iPad Cases Under $10"

I think only the ones that are priced at $29.98 will reduce down to under $10.

I was trying to buy a $49.98 case, hence $29.98 after discount. They should just say $20 off ipad cases.

  • I remember these chocolate 8pk eneloop was $14.95 on dicksmith website few weeks ago without any discount.
