  • Thanks again Trent, seems like limit 2 per order.

    • +2

What makes you think there is a limit? Doesn't seem to have a limit for me.

    • No limit on the orange packs as ordered 5 x online and I collected them this morn Sat 22 Nov from store!

  • I need something for exactly $1 or over! any things please?

  • Awesome deal! Time to stock up! Thanks OP

Would this have data plan included?

I am going to Hobart next month, this would be cheap way to have data and best coverage…?

    • I usually activate them for Ipad use via the Telstra live chat service. All smooth, 3GB to use, one month expriry, you can't get any better than this ;)

      • +1

        I thought it's only 2GB now?

        • +1

You are probably correct. The last sim activated was from last year's stock up. I activated it 3-4 weeks ago and told the livechat assistant that when I bought it I was told it gives me 3GB of data(the sim had to be activated within 12 months). She said "ok" and I got 3GB.

        • @GregFiona:

how do you activate this just as data?

what do you say to the live chat person?

        • +1

@edBARGAIN: Just say you are activating it for your tablet.

  • i got 5 simcards, and just releasid they were all normal sims and I needed micros. does anyone know if I can change these in store?

    • They would probably be punch out ones?? not sure tbh

    • I have changed a kit from normal SIM to micro SIM (or the other way around, can't remember) at a Telstra shop. No questions asked.

    • Probably.
      I just cut them down.

    • +3

After activating your Starter Pack, visit any Telstra store and they will swap it to any SIM size for FREE.

  • Optus pricing on Telstra :)

    • This is much better than Optus pricing if you know what you're doing, IMO.

      • But what about the Optus deals ;)

        • o_o

          Such as?

        • @raven2000:

Half price Optus sim gives Unlimited calls txt mms for 15 days and 7.5GB data.

        • @snappy1234: Good for heavy users i guess!

        • Uhuh. What about that network though.

        • @Diji1:

          Great where i live.

But i have Telstra as well for those times where the other networks don't cut the mustard.

  • Can we use this for data on ipad ? Will I get 2gb data within 30 days ? thanks

  • +2

woo hoo! Haven't seen these drop below $15 each in a long long time. Cheers, Trent! ;-)

    • +2

      Dude! It's called creditme2u :)

    • +1

transfer your old number to the new simcard

      • Can this be done when one is staying with the same provider? Has someone successfully done this?

        • +1

$1 vodafone sim card (you can order one online). Port out, port in.

        • @xsacha:

          Good tip. Thanks!

  • Thanks a million OP! These are damn cheap!

  • Thanks op

Anyone just use them for Google play credit for movies etc to Chromecast?

    • +1

I use them for google play. you get $30 credit. but once I purchased a wrong app for $13 and immediately refunded it , but never got my money back.

      • I find it difficult to think of what to buy haha

        So many options

      • +1

Interesting. Maybe the money went to your Google Wallet instead?

      • Since two months ago it's not letting me buy apps anymore.

        • Had the same problem a while back. Can't remember what fixed it but was either clearing the Play app data or uninstalling and reinstalling Play

  • Would I be able to use this as Play Store credit? If so can someone explain the process?

    • with Telstra you can use the credit to buy app from android mobile

      • Something that I'll NEVER get my head around.

It's perfectly understandable to discount own services… but to also allow direct exchange to real money… nuts. Clearly, something that's 'abused'… as-in, clear-out all the sims - Cost Telstra money, don't use their services, and throw the sim away. Only way Telstra can give great service?

        • Neither can I.
But don't worry about getting your head around… just… do it.

        • -1

How the hell are you doing "direct exchange to real money"?

    • Yes you can, it's called Bill my Telstra account. Here's more info on it: http://go.telstra.com.au/helpandsupport/-/google-play-on-my-…

This deal and the constant 50% off deals is what I find strange about all the votes on the recent $14 for $20 deal.

      • So the limit is $20 per purchase.

  • whats the expiry ?

  • No price beat at OW as these are old stock hence sheep.

    • OW doesn't stock these or they won't price beat because:

      Competitor clearance products

      from OW LPG page

Good for the Google Play credit, problem is I still have about $30 credit left and I have no idea what apps to buy!!!

    • Can you buy tv shows, movies e.g.?
      If so- why not that?

      • Only interested in apps atm, stuff to improve android experience. Not really interested in games either

        • yeah but can you?

    • Have you bought Pushover yet? I just discovered it's $5.38 via in-app purchase.

      • Im using Pushbullet and desktop notifications atm, which are both free. Does Pushover do more things? I dont have any of those watches

    • Can these be used for in-app purchases??

      • yes

        • Wait what? Really? They can? I thought they were only for apps from the Play Store.. because surely in-app purchases are not payable to Google? Unless it redirects to the play store

        • yeah i should buy some for credit.. i still have like $80 worth of free credit for google play.

And $25 from amazon that will expire any time soon

        • @illumination: They both use Google Wallet.

  • is this a limit on how many I can purchased? I have already placed 3 orders, with 2 sim each. So, 6 in total now. Can I get more?

    • Probably no limit doesn't state so

    • Expiry dates.

  • Thanks for posting the deal, Trent. Just ordered 2.

  • Is it possible to activate a data plan yet still maintain the $30 credit for 6 months?

    • prepaid long life is the only plan that would give you 6 months, so no.

  • -2

    I placed 1 order for 12 packs.

    • +1

The community spirit is strong with this one.

  • +12

Don't go overboard people let others get the chance to get some too

    • Cheers, I DO feel better… thanks.

(type "Broden" into Google and see what the top result is)

      • -4

1: I bought for personal use.
        2: It's only 21, I'm sure plenty of people bought 10+.
3: I already know about Broden, who doesn't.

  • accidentally bought the standard sim instead of the micro sim.

Oh well, will get a chance to put my dealextreme sim cutters to use.

    • +1

Visit any Telstra store and they will swap it to any SIM size you need (nano, micro, or classic).
      This is a free service.

  • +1

don't forget the government wants your ID as proof of purchase when you buy this… something about anti terror laws

  • is the benefit here cheap calls to $30 value for $8 ?? with no data ?? also does that mean each time you run out of a sim you will swap sims and therefore swap numbers?

    • transfer your old number to new simcard

    • I'm activating it for tablet. So, 2GB of data for a month.

  • Limit of two for me in Vic.
Thanks for the deal Trent. Awesome price.

  • I'm a bit out of touch with how to wangle these things. I have a prepaid phone (Galaxy Note 2 - micro sims right?) and a prepaid 4G wifi mobile broadband device (the kind 5 computers can connect to).

At the moment the 4G thing is on a $180 12 month 12Gb plan. When that finishes can I use these to top it up/extend it? Don't necessarily need to know how now (brown cow), just if it can be done?
