      • I got 2 emails from HN on last Friday. One for order confirmation and the other is a tax invoice.

The parcel just appeared on Monday without any notice.

    • Try to swap - if 1 store says no, try another, but…
My earlier experience with several Telstra Stores was they will SIM swap (to micro-sim etc) only after SIM is activated (they activate it if not active), but will not swap to extend expiry.

Hope it does work. I've still got a few Starter Packs I bought last year.

I don't think HN will be fulfilling my order.

    • Curious guys, but can you actually swap such SIM packs for later expiry ones? I once asked a shop but they said no- once expired, it can't be used. Is there anyone who has successfully swapped such expiring SIM packs?

Apologies- just read Bruce's reply. Thanks for your input, Bruce :)

    • Btw, how did you get yours delivered. AusPost parcel, postman, or something else?

      • +1

It was delivered as an AusPost parcel in a Harvey Norman bubble envelope.

      • I made three orders and each were delivered in a slightly different packaging, it was strange.

    • Lets us know how you go, I got 3 that expire next month. :(

Managed to swap 4 of mine with new $30 multi-size sim starter kit with expiry in Oct 2016.

It was not easy as the staff had to check with the manager. So try your luck.

just had a call from a Harvey Norman store to tell me they can't fulfill my order. They then tried to offer me store credit instead of a refund. I said nah

Lot's of people are getting their orders, including me. I ordered 10 and I've just received an email stating that my order is ready for pick up.

      • its good to hear some people got their orders :)

  • I made three separate orders (as I'm a fool) and as of today I have received all 10 starter packs. Expiry dates vary from 19 Dec 2014 (ouch!) until Jun 2015. Looks like I won't be recharging for awhile.

  • Ordered online(Delivery) and one of the packs I received expired in May this year…

  • Yes. For the stakeholders in telstra, old adage treat 'em mean to keep 'em keen rings fairlytrue :|

    (Glad i didn't order)

    We can't find this page
Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for. It may have been removed or no longer exists.
To help you get to your destination, you can try the following:?????

  • I'm wondering: can you return the packs if they expire too soon (like next month)?

  • Update:

Got an email 2 days ago:

Please be advised that this is a refund confirmation for your online order. While we are sorry to hear that the purchased goods were not suitable for you, we would like to thank you for your business and look forward to future transactions with you.

    Item Sku Qty Subtotal
    Telstra Pre-Paid Phone $30 Starter Kit 114930 2 $16.00
    Telstra Micro Sim $30 Pre-Paid Phone Starter Kit 115111 2 $16.00
    Adjustment Fee $0.39
    Total $31.61
    (Incl. GST $2.91)

And I still haven't got my refund.

Thanks Harvey Norman. I'm sorry I ordered from you, it won't happen again.

  • Still no refund. I called them twice, left my phone number for them to call back, and left 2 online messages, and they haven't replied.

How do you screw up customer service this bad?

    • Are you calling the specific store or their head office? If specific store, I would go and contact the head office or use their online help to get the refund processed.

  • Got this from HarveyNorman Preston:

    Hi there,

Apologies but there were none of these products left when your orders were placed. Unfortunately due to the mass amount of orders of this item, the system did not have time to update stock counts from the stores and we received more orders than we had units available. We have had to request a refund for you for these orders.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Kind Regards,

It is the second time my order is cancelled due to "their system problem". Poor Harvey, will not buy from them again.

    • I ordered from the same branch.

I STILL haven't got my refund. Have you?

      • +1

No refund yet. Have to wait and see :(

  • Still no word as to pickup or refund. Ordered from HN Chadstone. Disappointing.

    • I picked mine up from Chadstone. They called me to say my order was ready to pick up.

      • When is the expiry, if I may ask?

      • Wow. Okay. Think I will give them a ring. I haven't gotten word till this day.

  • If someone can help that would be great. I still have an old iPad sim active (can still recharge for $30 and get 3gb) in my wifi hotspot, how do i check when the sim will be deactivated? I've looked in my account on telstra website but can't see a date.

I still have 2 other 3gb iPad sims to use from a deal a while ago, plus now 2 of these $30 micro sim starter kits. Whats my best plan of attack here? I only want to use this for data when i travel for work. Would it be just to use the 2 other 3gb iPad sims (white packaging ones) as normal until they are used and throw them away, and transfer the $30 credit using creditme2u from the new $30 sims i got in this deal to my old iPad sim which is still active on the old rates?

I've never done it before so if it's the case, can i just transfer all $30 and bang i have 3gb on my old iPad sim?

I know I've done a shitty job explaining but hope someone can help.

    Cheers.

  • Pathetic from HN. No problems taking orders, charging credit card, then nothing. Took multiple requests for them to finally tell me they had insufficient stock and I should request a refund. They don't even care. The least they could have done is told me what was going on and arranged a refund and not just do nothing. Probably hoping a few people will forget all about it so they can hold on to their money.

Just went into the local Harvey Norman store to enquire what was happening as I have not received any communication so far. I was informed by one of the managers that he spoke to the online department approx 20 mins ago and was told that because of the massive amount of orders the stock ran out very quickly. He was also informed that Harvey Norman has now procured 20,000 (Ozbargained?) sim kits and the fulfilment should start sometime next week.
Take what you will from the conversation but I'm not holding my breath.

    • If that was the case then why have some orders been cancelled and refunded? There is never any consistency with HN.

      • Maybe the excessive and or duplicate orders, just a guess. Anyways Harvey Norman's Track record doesn't help them and for all I know what I was told could be total bs.

        • +1

I hope it's true because the new packs with have much longer expiry dates, and they come will all 3 SIM types.

    • That's what I was told from my local store too. The SIM packs are on backorder and it should be fulfilled in December…

I don't mind waiting because if they are really ordering the new ones, they should be the 3 SIM types (which woolies is selling in this week's special), and the expiry dates will be in 2016 at least.

  • Still haven't heard a word from my store. Better call them up…

  • +1

i heard from mine but deliberately waiting til they send reminder, so hoping to get longer expiry

  • I just received mine though the mail

But only 2 of mirco sim cards came

The other 4 normal size Sims didn't

I called up the online department
She said they were coming from different places
    One from Newcastle
    One from Roswell, and qld

But my package came from bundall, qld

    And I'm from melb

She didn't know what she was talking about and wanted to transfer me to a different department

    Bad customer service HN

  • Ordered 4 two weeks ago but haven't received yet. Checked their system still showing status "new". Disappointing.

    • Mine for pickup shows as "processing".

  • Received my order today :
8 x Normal SIM - all expire on Jun 2015
2 x Micro SIM - all expire on Apr 2015

Is there any way to extend expiry period?

    • You can try any telstra shop for free swapping (no issue for me when change to a different size SIM)

      • Admittedly I only asked at one Telstra shop but was told that the SIM needs to be activated for them to swap.

        • Also told needs to be activated first - by different T shops, but worth a try.

Got a call last night to let me know the SIM is ready…better late than cancelled
