Received my parcel from them sent with DHL. Checked the box to have extra padding and remove shoe boxes. Shoe boxes were removed but no extra padding was padded. Lucky nothing was broken.

I received my parcel last week to find the box about 1/3 empty. So I pretty much was charged extra shipping costs because of them shipping it in a box larger than needed.

Also the items inside seemed to be just thrown in without care, I found things everywhere. They should at least pack it down so things do not spill.

I paid over $110USD in postage for my items which were about 4-5kg but was charged about 8kg due to volumetric weight (as they used a large recycled box)

I've used other shipping forwarders before and they were much better.

    I would avoid using BoxHop!

  • Received my parcel today from Boxhop sent through Globegistics. They used a recycled cardboard box from some bookshelf speaker system was about half empty with the stuff just thrown into the box without much care. Must have been paying shipping for half air. Any how here's a photo.

  • So… BoxHop sucks the big one and will never be using them again and will be telling family and friends to avoid. Here's why:

    1) Nothing clearly indicating that batteries cannot be shipped to Australia (I used their website search function and FAQ search function), there was also no listing under Prohibited Items for Electronics or Batteries (it was located later on in the Hazardous Materials section… when the batteries were marked "Prohibited Items"
    2) They are happy to add packages together, however apparently only if it's the whole package… no "splitting"
    3) Several reports on here of using boxes far beyond the required size
    4) Wanting to charge me $65 for shipping of a 0.1kg item (2 sets of micro usb cables)… is BEYOND a joke.

I've requested that one package be returned to amazon (goodbye Anker battery packs… oh how I wish I knew thee…) and that they simply throw away the others (as the $20 returns handling fee plus shipping cost for each package back to amazon makes it not worth it).

  • Err, my item shipped through Globegistics on 7th December. Still no sign of it. Should I be worried?

    • Same as me. Stuck in US since 15/12/2014. I bought insurance protection cover, will I get compensate from them???

Contacted them a few times, but very sloooow reply. Blacklist them…

      • Yeah I'm worried now. Contacted them. But so far they've only responded once to look into it and that was a week ago.
I hope the insurance claim isn't going to be a hassle.

  • I used them twice (used referral link). First time was extremely slow - my parcels took an average of 4 business days to be processed. Yes I know it was during Black Friday etc but my other mail forwarder (who I've been using for years) only takes a few hours. Also since I really needed some items before Christmas I paid for express shipping on the 11 Dec, my package didn't get processed for shipment for 48 hours, then it wasn't sent to DHL until 3 days later! Luckily I got it just in time, that's 11 days, so much for 'express!'. Second time was to send the remainder of my parcels that weren't so urgent (all my parcels had been delivered but Boxhop was taking so long to process them all) and I sent these via Globegistics. Second time much better, they processed my request straight away and I received my parcel in about 1.5 weeks. So would I use them again? Yes, but only if there's another coupon. MyUs works out to be the same price (with the Amex 30% off) as Boxhop, but using DHL vs Globegistics and it's so much faster. Question - has anyone received any referral credits since?

    Received my last package today.

Slow. Expensive. Clunky User interfaces. Box poorly packed (they managed to remove all the bubble wrap from the original shipper and ship in the same box without protection). Would never use them again.

    • At least you've received your parcel! I ordered before you and assumed it's lost now

I used Boxhop for the first time based on this deal and it has been a TERRIBLE experience with both them and Globegistics.

My parcel was "shipped" on Dec 13th and since that time there has been no change to the tracking status (which starts and ends on that date) and the parcel is nowhere to be found. I contacted both Boxhop and Globegistics but each side is blaming the other side for having lost the parcel and it's ended up with me having to lodge an insurance claim with Boxhop.

Now of course I accept that parcels get lost every day and it could happen with any company but it's the unbelievably bad customer service which has made this such a poor experience.

For starters, Boxhop are HOPELESS at responding to email. In one instance during this whole saga, I emailed them for 4 consecutive working days with zero response. I ended up calling their parent company Borderfree who directed my call to Boxhop and finally I got some answers…though sadly it was of the "your parcel has been lost variety". Since I've emailed them the insurance claim though and sent another couple of emails with other questions, they have gone back to not responding. What is the freakin' point of using email as your primary contact method with your customers if you are so slow to respond?? A quick Google search on this issue shows I am not alone either.

Similarly, the carrier I selected, Globegistics, have also been extremely slow to respond to my emails and 3 times now have given me a copy and paste response despite me telling them that Boxhop has accused them of having lost the parcel.

Perhaps worst of all is Boxhop's parent company Borderfree. They have a claim on their website that "we will reply within 1 business day" to email. Well when I wasn't getting any response from Boxhop, I sent Borderfree a detailed email explaining the situation and it took 10 (!) days for them to reply, by which time I'd finally got hold of Boxhop myself anyway.

Another incredibly stupid and annoying thing about Boxhop is having to manually declare a value for items before they can be shipped when those items have arrived at Boxhop with an invoice declaring the value! I can understand if the items arrived without an invoice but I had a number of items arrive with a full invoice which I then had to download from my Boxhop account and re-upload as proof of the value. I'm sure others here who've used Boxhop might have come across this ridiculous requirement as well.

TL:DR = I will never use Boxhop or Globegistics again and will not be recommending them to anyone unless they have a massive revamp of their customer service culture.

    • I've had the same experience as you. Got something sent early December and a month later still nothing.
After contacting them (agree they are slow to respond and don't respond to every enquiry either) it looks like my item has been returned to BoxHop! There wasn't even a delivery attempted! But at least the package isn't lost
Just hope they don't expect me to fork out for another delivery fee.

OK here's an update to my experience with BoxHop:

I originally sent an Amazon Fire TV using Globegistics in early December and there was no sign of it for a month. Early January I contact BoxHop using their form and get a canned response (no communication ever reference the specific problem). Then a week later the parcel arrives back in my suite as a returned item. Again Boxhop didn't even respond to tell me it had come back or what happened.

I contacted BoxHop again saying I'm not going to pay for shipping again, but I'll pay the difference for DHL shipping. Few days later they say they will give me a $20 credit so I'm happy. When I go to organise the shipping I managed to find a discount code ("OZBARGAIN"!) which gives around ~20% off. The shipping estimate for DHL after my credit and discount is around $10-15 which I'm ok with. But then literally a couple of hours later I am stunned as my package is shipped and the final shipping charge is $2.86! I'm not sure if that is normal speed now that xmas shopping season is over or whether they gave my order special attention.

Anyway I just received my parcel from DHL 2 days after it was shipped (after a month and a half). I inspected the shipping labels on my parcel and carefully pulled off the DHL label to see the original one from Globegistics. The morons at Boxhop left off the street address, that is why it couldn't be delivered!

Would not use them again given such low reliability.

  • Every time I received my final charge it was higher than the estimate.

Very sad to read similar experiences that I am having. I usually use hopshopgo and never had a problem but because of the boxhop promo I decided to try it.
Package sent out from their warehouse 12 Dec 2014. 23 Dec showing cleared custom Australia. But today is already the 22 Jan I have still not receive it. Multiple emails to boxhop and globegistic to no avail. Standard reply of we are investigating and will update you, which never happen. I even waited 12midnight to call their phone. Standard answer and even took the time to take down my email and promise to update me which never happen. Also tried via their facebook messenger and via direct message to boxhop rep on ozbargain.
I accept my parcel is lost but how do I go about claiming refund for item value?

  • Well put me down as yet ANOTHER who's been defrauded by Boxhop.

A month after they were supposedly sent I followed up with Boxhop, Globegistics and AusPost.

Globegistics were first to reply saying they'd NEVER EVEN BEEN GIVEN THE ITEM BY BOXHOP!

$AUD90 worth of items and countless hours of work lost/stolen!

Suffice to say I have essentially zero confidence that Boxhop will even vaguely try and assist me in making an insurance claim – I have requested a Parcel Protection claim form from them – BUT DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE ONE THEY CAN UPLOAD/FORWARD?

Welcome any advice on how to best get some type of resolution? Should I complain with Borderfree (Boxhop's owner?).

Honestly there's so many 'lost' parcels esepcially given their relatively small size/market share that I'm forced to believe it's straight out criminal theft – like they say if it looks and sounds like a duck……?

Anyway if anyone has a claim form I'd be most appreciative.

Well I may as well give an update on my situation since it pretty much mirrors Nikko except I have managed to submit a claim form.

On Jan 14 I sent them the completed claim form. They finally responded on Jan 26 with:

"Thank you for providing the Claim Form and the proof of purchase of the items in question.
Please note that it might take up to 7 business days for your claim to be processed.
We will provide you with an update as soon as possible.

We apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please reply directly to this e-mail should you have any additional questions in regard to this inquiry."

I responded within 5mins of receiving the above email with a further question and as of that date they are yet to respond!! What kind of a joke is this?!!

Additionally Nikko, good luck getting any response out of Borderfree. I have sent them a few emails during this month and half long saga but have only had a couple of responses, both weeks apart and totally unhelpful.
It's all such a shambles and I am also starting to wonder if all these missing parcels have been stolen.

The thing that frustrates me most is every item in my parcel was bought at a sizeable discount during Black Friday sales so even after they refund me I won't be able to replace those items for the same cost.

Also I love how I keep getting marketing emails from Boxhop while their incompotent customer support continues to ignore me.

      • Sorry don't know why the above has some bold text in it. I did not add any formatting to the plain text.

  • I am formally asking at what stage a vendor is banned from here.
It appears there are multiple members here and if you search, a whole heap more elsewhere, that have expressed extremly dissatisfied comments upon their experience using Boxhop.

Perhaps the rep here for @BoxHop could afford us some answers in an open forum and explain why there appear to be so many issues with their company ?

    • Please start a new forum thread in regards to Boxhop to see if more members are having issues. Perhaps we can get the rep to respond and go from there.

  • Still no resolution from boxhop. I contacted Globegistic and they say according to their investigation the item is lost. I am asked to claim from boxhop. Multiple emails request for the claim form, no reply. Can somebody upload or email me the form? I know the likehood of successfully claiming anything back is nil but I would still like to submit it.

    • mranwa, another member was kind enough to forward me the form - so if you still do not have a copy please send me a message with your email address and I will send it to you.

I have to say in advance it's a very amateurish looking form that I'm sure they put in the 'circular filing cabinet' as soon as it comes in BUT you've alluded to expecting this (which I do as well) so I agree better to send through and hope for the best.

      Thanks, Nick

PS. And PLEASE go over to the above linked thread and put down your concerns - Mods have done this for a reason so need OzB member's help to get to the bottom of Boxhop's practices. :-)

Hi Nick, I have pm you. Yes, I expected the form to be practically useless, but I will submit it regardless. Shall continue to post on the other thread to ban Boxhop too. Likely fraudulent company, or at the very least extremely incompetent.

        • Yes, well I have to concur - it's my personal opinion ONLY but I do think there's just too many items going missing for it purely to be incompetence.

As part of their service they open and inspect every item sent to them so in my own personal opinion and in lieu of any viable and plausible explaination I think someone at Boxhop is stealing what they perceive as a small and 'commercially viable' number of items/shipments and then subsequently passing it off as 'the item not arriving', 'a mistake by the other organisation' or just using their go to tactic 'silence'.

Because the sad truth is if you're one of the poor sods who's paid for an item and also paid Boxhop to service it's onsending for you and it goes badly WHAT are you potential remedies???

Basically none - you can contact them but if they're not going to assist (and call me jaded but assuming they're both incompetent and possible criminal activity why would they do anything STUPID like that) and then you're kind of out of options.

In hindsight, there's other forwarders that are cheaper and many more that are only VERY marginally more expensive but have far more consistant good service reports, so IMHO it's just far too risky to use Boxhop. Hence I strongly urge all persons to AVOID Boxhop's services!
