    • Does it count as a dupe if it's in the depths of some comments?

        • fair call then

        • What information?

        • @kamoi:
          Click the link…

        • @Spackbace:

I did and all I see is some more links.

        • -1

I completely agree with you Spackbace. Getting pretty sick of these sort of posts that just piggy back on the main deal, the same as the 'deals' using exactly the same code (DSE/COTD etc) and end up having deal after deal using the same code.

This cashback offer is limited to a dozen or so stores, it has a easy list of what is included in the cashback. Is it really that hard for people to see what they want, go to a few of the store's websites to see what the price is and then just choose the cheapest considering you know how much you'll get back in the cashback?

I know I'll be negged for this but too many of these non deals that people just piggy back on the actual deal post.

        • +2

          @Porthos:
And the problem is, with each post comes "but 40% of $33 doesn't reduce it to $9" etc etc… When all these questions and more are answered in the original post.

        • +21

Mate,i looked for any duplicates before posting this deal but didn't go through all the comments. However as i knew there were few deals already posted about the same topic i thanked the original post in my description.I didnt mean to steal any credit and highly appreciate your time to post the comment and has given a +1 as well.

        • @Spackbace: I still don't get what information you supposedly posted…

        • @kamoi:

This exact deal. The cheapest place and how much it works out to after cashback.

        • -1

          @kamoi:

Sure are. Can you not see the one that directly refers to this deal post?

        • +1

@Spackbace: Yep that's exactly it as well. Having deal after deal with people asking about the RRP back because the new deal doesn't include the information that was in the original deal.

Also then asking about 'is such and such store included in the cashback?' when the list is included in the original deal as well!

          @Spackbace:

I can see you mention this keyboard in a comment. I just don't see why you feel entitled to receive credit for it here.

Having never seen your comment until now, I still managed to buy one before Christmas as well as calculate the final cost. Had I posted this as a deal you would still be shouting plagiarism…

Honestly it's not that difficult to find these deals and on a community like OzBargain there are no doubt many who have 'discovered' this very same deal without you.

All the eligible products and retailers are provided on the MS cashback site. It's just a matter of searching on StaticICE and doing some basic maths.

As is it with all of the cashback deals, including your own. Even with that post, the same questions were asked that were answered in the original post.

Ultimately it comes down to manners, as I said. Whether the OP saw my post or not, it was there and was seen by many, being the first post to a very popular deal. Same way that the OP mentions the original cashback deal, but doesn't link to it, even though it has all the questions and answers covered, and would save a lot of people asking the same stuff on here.

I could put up each and every one of the items I linked to as seperate deals, I just don't need to. I did my bit and from the feedback I received, I helped quite a few people that chose to read past the OP.

        • +6

Give me a break LOL. HOW ABOUT YOU POST IT AS A BARGAIN THEN. Oh wait you didn't.

          LEL.

Can't believe you're actually whining about someone doing more work than you and expecting recognition. Seriously? How bout we recognise the person that made the post that I noticed instead of a comment instead?

Please stay on point. That sounds like it's to do with what you were discussing with Porthos.

Ultimately it comes down to manners, as I said.

Manners is probably not something you should talk about considering your attack on the OP. An apology would show good manners.

Whether the OP saw my post or not, it was there and was seen by many, being the first post to a very popular deal.

Please don't exaggerate. It's further down in the comments rather than in the first post. Regardless, if OP hasn't seen it then how can it be plagiarism?

Same way that the OP mentions the original cashback deal, but doesn't link to it, even though it has all the questions and answers covered, and would save a lot of people asking the same stuff on here.

OP mentioning original cashback deal. Terrible manners indeed…

I could put up each and every one of the items I linked to as seperate deals, I just don't need to.

You should do that rather than attacking members of the community.

I did my bit and from the feedback I received, I helped quite a few people that chose to read past the OP.

Doesn't sound like you were satisfied with your bit.

      • +1

Poor thing. There a few minuses next to your comment…

Now you know how jv feels lol

        • It's all good, the minuses don't outweigh the original 39+ votes for my original post, so I know its been appreciated.

        • +5

          JV doesn't feel anything.

        • @luke73:
          Is he human..

        • +11

          @Spackbace:

If someone doesn't take the initiative to post a separate deal for a good bargain such as this then it is their loss. Credit shouldn't matter. We're all collaborating as one to get good bargains. The more exposure for good deals just benefits the site. A few newbies may have seen this deal on the front page today and could end up as regulars on the website.

Also, I don't think OzBargain are recruiting for moderators right now so you can stop acting like you are trying out for it.

        • +5

@Spackbace: How about quit clicking your fingers and bringing that ego down a notch there? Really not sure what your whinging about. The OP made an effort to post and it should be appreciated. Yes the link in your post goes to the same deal but not everyone reads past the OP.

      • +1

If you are going to accuse someone of plagiarism then you should probably provide some real evidence.

  • Will MSY Technology Pty Ltd bring the Microsoft wedge keyboard in to the new year ?

    • No

    • +1

Microsoft Wedge is available again for $9 http://www.computeralliance.com.au/search?search=Microsoft%2… after cashback

      • Rather to save $16.00 for collection in (Qld). Any instore for the other states +for a reasonable final price$20? Hugely popular model.

        edit
Officeworks would be good ($5.95 delivery [or >$55 Free]) but got a bright idea to post Deliver to Door - 1 units: Dispatched in 14-18 business nullifying the cb..Same goes for C&C; Berry St, North Sydney.

Looks like 25.00 is the best, realistic price.

  • +4

Why post again? The deal is the cashback. Finding the best price and price-matching at your nearest OW is obvious.

  • Is this compatible with PS3? The description doesn't say anything.

    • It is a USB keyboard. It is a standard. You can use bluetooth ones as well.

    • I might test it tomorrow on my ps3 and let you know

    • +1

My ps3 did not detect the keyboard or trackpad at all
So it is not compatible with ps3!

      • Thanks OP for clarifying

        • +1

          Jibupaul is the OP
          I'm the CandyMan

  • is this cashback available if you buy from OW as well? Is this Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 wireless?

    • +2

Yes for OW No its wired

  • +5

Just a word of warning for those buying this: The trackpad is rough and the left/right click buttons are difficult to use - it's not a very pleasant experience. But for $9 I'd still say it's worth it. The target market for this thing is HTPCs where you won't be using it all that much, so as long as you're using it minimally this is a recommended buy for the price.

    • +1

compared to logitech k400, I would personally say that logitech is much comfortable to use

      • yeah, the logitech trackpad is much much better (and the logitech trackpad isn't great either!).

i do like the keys better on the MS, and the dedicated volume controls (much much better than F key volume control)…but the trackpad is painful to use!

  • +3

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. The trackpad is TERRIBLE.

The keyboard itself is nice and the range is decent but the trackpad really lets it down.

    • +1

Seriously? I find the trackpad is better than the Logitech.

    • -7

I bought one of these a few weeks ago aswell
      I still haven't used it

      • +4

Thanks for letting us know. What else have you bought and not used recently?

        • -7

I did if u were following the "original cashback deal" you will see that I contributed with multiple comments

        • +1

Why don't u take ur own advice and do us a favor

      • +3

I haven't bought one of these. As a result I can't use it

Just went to OW Brookvale & price matched it with MSY. Plugged it into my linux server & its PnP so, happy days. Trackpad is a little rough but I didn't have problems with it. Good for my setup because when I rarely need to use the GUI, I have something I can store away on those occasions… Good find jibupaul :-D

    • *with credit to Spackbace

      • Haha all good :)

          Thanks Spackbace! :-D

Interesting price match attempt with OW staff member..

He spent 10 minutes at the computer thoroughly inspecting MSY's website. He then came back said that he couldn't price match as MSY only provides a 1 year warranty(based of their Warranty and Returns page), whereas Officeworks provides a full 3 year manufacturer warranty. I made a small attempt at explaining a manufacturers warranty but to no avail.

Then he went on to improv: "We charge twice as much as MSY, so Officeworks sell a higher quality product that is guaranteed 3x longer. Officeworks pay Microsoft more so our product has a longer warranty and is better quality"

Supposedly management also tell them that MSY grey import.

At this point I once again tried to explain a manufacturers warranty. He asked me to read aloud MSY's warranty policy. I asked if he understood it, he didn't. At this point I gave up.

      • +1

I tried price match at OW twice, one with MSY and one with logitechshop, i didn't have any problem what so ever. I guess you just have to try with another reasonable staff

      • +1

Wow, that's not right. I price match MSY all the time.

Which store was this that denied you?

        • Hornsby Store.

        • I stay away from those OW doesn't even bother price match
          for example:

          -Fitzroy(VIC)

  • What is the range on this keyboard? I have a Micrsoft ergonomic desk 7000 keyboard, and the range is horrible. Wanting to use this for a HTPC and need at least 4m range.

  • Got this the other day from MSY and works just fine plugged in to my Samsung smart tv. Weirdly enough, the Hulu app doesn't like the alphanumeric keys, but the Netflix app does…

    • I have an LG smart TV. I never knew you could stick a keyboard into the TV. I think it is running the same OS as Samsung (WebOS). Might give it a try.

    • It kind of works on my series 6 Samsung TV, but I decided to give up on smart TVs(mine is just to slow). Busy building a HTPC and the keyboard will go well with that!

  • -3

If it's $33 at MSY, then $31 with O/W price match (5% off), then cash back is 40%, shouldn't this cost approx $19?

    • It's 40% of price on Microsoft website not the price from ow or msy . They r selling it cheaper then ms hence the big difference

    • 40% cash back on MICROSOFT'S retail price

    • Thanks both

  • has anyone recieved anything like a confirmation email after lodging a claim? apart from the claim number they show on the website?

    • It doesn't work at all with ps3!

  • Cheers op/oc, scored this and the sculpt Touch mouse at ow

  • Just picked one up from officeworks myself. Thanks op!

  • Got one today from OW in Milton, QLD today, still had a few on the shelf. Unfortunately the girl behind the counter didn't beat the price by 5%, but I'm not going to whinge about $1.65. Thanks OP!

  • Got mine today. Plenty of stock at OW shepparton. Didn't get price matched but Im not too fussed…the guy took ages to decide if he wanted to actually do it though…

  • got one yesterday from OW five dock nsw, works fine with my cocoon android media player.

  • +1

Couldn't find any at an Officeworks near me but grabbed one from MSY Auburn today. Absolute bargain. Perfect for the HTPC. I don't know why people are complaining about the touchpad either, it's fine and the gestures work well too. Sure it's not a Macbook but it's better than almost all Windows laptop touchpads I've used.

    • +1

      +1 the touchpad is great!

  • Does anyone know if any officeworks in Adelaide or MSY have these? Or even in the burbs. Wanna get my mom to go grab one these.. thx

    • +1

On the 11th OW Elizabeth had 4 left.

      • will do mate, thx

        • +1

Or MSY have a stock checker online

  • Got one from OW Newcastle yesterday, seemed to be plenty in stock. Works great

  • OzBargained the crap out of this! Price match at OW with ING paypass 5% bonus gives me a grand total of $5.78 ($33 * .95 * .95 - 24)! Thanks you OzB :)
P.S. Got it from Preston OW

  • I think MSY should change their name to - Out of Stock :-P
